I begin praising Allah subhanho wa Taala in thanking Allah subhanho wa Taala for all the near Muslim blessings He has bestowed upon us. Whether we are aware or unaware of them, and indeed there are so many blessings from Allah subhanho wa taala. That if we were to try to count them, Allah says
says that we will fail in our attempt. We're into Adonia amatola He later Suha and I began by sending our Peace and blessings upon Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, we ask Allah subhanho wa Taala to keep us steadfast upon the deen in the middle of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, we ask Allah subhana wa Tada to keep his sunna's alive in our life and in the life of our upcoming generations. And may Allah subhana wa Donna, in the most important times in our life, may Allah subhanho wa Taala keep us close to the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet SAW Salem, may Allah subhanho wa Taala grant us the companionship of the prophets of Salaam in Accra and
Jasmine for those who Allah along with our families and community members, Amin Obadiah Alameen
brothers and sisters, Allah subhanho wa Taala has given us a deen a way of life. And Allah subhanho wa Taala has told us that this deen is not difficult. In fact, Allah subhanho wa Taala says that he wants to make this Deen easy for us. He wants to make it easy in the sense that we can apply in our life.
And not only that Allah subhanho wa Taala he says that despite the fact that he has made Deen easy and simple for us, he says Holy file in Santa dar ephah the human being is still weak. Why are we so weak, because as human beings the way we have been programmed by Allah, the way we have been created by Allah subhanho wa Taala we are such that we are so easily influenced, we are easily intimidated, we can easily be scared. And we can switch from one side to another side in the blink in the time that in the blink of an eye, we can switch our stances on anything. In many cases, we're not stable on one certain matter. And this is why one of the some of the alumni they say that this is what it
means that we are weak. And the fact that we are weak it also means that we do commit sins. And the fact that we do commit sins, Allah subhanho wa Taala he acknowledges that. And he does not say that why'd you commit sins, of course, Allah does not want us to commit sins. But Allah subhanho wa Taala also acknowledges the fact that the fact that we are human beings and we do forget our purpose, and we will commit sins, this is why he says khulumani The mahatva own will hydro hotbar in a tawa boon that every son of Adam will commit sins. But the best sinner is that person who turns to Allah subhana wa Taala The door is never closed on us from Allah subhanho wa taala. So this is why always
remember that no matter what I have done, because so many times when I talk to people, and people will come to you also, and they're holding themselves back because of their past. And I always remind people that no matter how much you complain about the past, the past is the past, you can never do anything about the past. But the one thing that you can do is about the present and the future. Now, today in the hotbed there is a certain matter I do want to talk about. And this is something that we have seen the province on talk about, we have seen stories in the Quran about this matter. And this is some of the problems some he taught us not to do in our society, especially if
we want to come together as a community. If we want to be united as a society. The one thing that you and I we need to refrain from is being judgmental about others, passing verdicts about others. See is very easy in this day and age that we're judgmental about other people based on religiosity. We're judgmental about others, based on their past, we judge others based on their past, we judge others based on the way or the way we are the language that we speak the color of our skin. A lot of times this is also becomes a problem in our society. And I say that all of these things are no different and these are the acts and the behaviors of shaytaan. A believes and even people like fit
our own. Study the Quran and we will see this when Allah subhanho wa Taala ordered it believes when he ordered everyone that you have to make sudo to Adam and then you have to prostrate to Adam, are you Salam, what does shaytaan saying? What did he believe say? He says I know how you don't men. I am better than him. Now of course, when we talk about Qyburn we don't
I want to make this whole thing about Cuba in arrogance. But when the person talks about arrogance, he says that there are two elements of arrogance. He says butter will help you welcome to nurse to suppress the truth and to belittle other people. Now if you are belittling other people, you're passing judgments about other people remember that the reason why passing a judgement about others is so despicable in the eyes of Allah subhanho wa Taala because legislation and judgment is only and only the right of Allah subhanho wa Taala no one can ever say that this is halal or this is haram derived belongs only to Allah and who is a who is a good who is a good person who is a good doer who
is a sinner, who's going to go Jana who's gonna go Jahannam that judgment only is the right of Allah subhanho wa Taala and this is why Allah despises these kinds of actions. Because when you and I, when we think that we can judge other people, we are indirectly telling Allah subhana wa Taala that what you can do, I can do also. This is why passing judgments or be judgmental, but others is so decided by Allah subhanho wa taala. But at the same time, I do want to make this clear that if you do not belittle other people, but you do pass judgments, you may not have arrogance, you may have something which we call a marauding Zulu, like a sickness of the heart, a disease that can affect
your spirituality, but at the same time, you cannot say that this person has arrogance. Now, when we talk about judging people on their past, this is something that we see that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he never did. I honestly tell you that in our society, in the Muslim community, many cases, we judge people based on sins that they have committed in the past. How many times parents, they don't want to trust their own children. Why? Because of something they may have done in the past Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam never held someone's past against them, or some or even a Zaid or some or even as they took the life of a man who said La Ilaha illa Allah
and the Prophet alayhi salam asked him the Why did you do this summer and remember, it was summer was the son of the adopted son of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Oussama was so beloved to the Prophet SAW Salem, that when children want to get a request approved, they will not go themselves, they will send Osama There you go. And you ask, because the Prophet loves you so much. But yet, when Osama did something wrong, the person came and he told him, why did you do this? And he said he also Allah, he said the shahada out of intimidation, he was scared. And the problem is some he asked him how Shakta called Bella, did you open his heart? And did you look at his intention
to see whether he was speaking the truth or not? And it was somebody who was eight he felt seriously guilty about it. But what we learned also is at the end of his life, the life of the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, when the Prophet want to send an expedition, who did he put in charge of that expedition? He put none other than Osama even said he did not hold his past against him. Because when you and I, when we hold people against their past,
or when we hold their past against them, sorry, then this is a behavior of even further own.
Why do I say this? Go back to the story of Musa alayhis salaam. Musa is walking in the city. He sees a 50 and a person from his people, but he is thrown in there going at it, they're in a conflict. So Musa Ali is some comes in, he says, what's going on? And this man he becomes abrupt with Musa alayhis salam. And of course the Quran says for workers who Musa now what does for workers? Musa mean? Was it a hard shove? Was it a punch? Who knows? But nonetheless, Mussolini, so of course he's not going to violate someone else's rights. He may have pushed that person hard, not understanding his strength. But of the Quran says fuckable Allah his mother who was taking care of me he died.
And so this man Mussolini's some left, this man left Musa and some seriously regretful about his actions. Next day again, he sees the same man of bunnies saw even in a conflict with someone else. And when Musa approaches this person and says You are the troublemaker, and he says, Oh Musa, are you going to do to me what you did to that person yesterday, and that is when everyone found out what Musa did. And that is when the man came and fit on put out
have a search warrant that this man is to be arrested. And this man, another man, he came to Musashi Simon said, my advice is that you get out of here, go leave this town. And years later, Musa is still regretful about this. And Musa knows what's gonna happen when he has to be sent back to bunny aside when he I mean when he has to be sent back to fit on. And when he went back to fit on, fit on, what do you say? Something that we do so often, like how many times someone young will give an advice, and we say who are you to give me the advice? And Phil on said that to him. He says alumna Rebecca fina Walidah will be the Phenom and oh Monica sin in, didn't you that grew up in our house.
And now you're going to come here and try to give me advice. And then he says that oh, yeah, not only that, but you come in a crime also, with the altar found that the collective altar were intimate caffeine. Yeah, don't you remember you did something like that? And yes, Musa did that he not do that intentionally, and habit unintentionally. And whoosah being the Prophet of Allah, he owned up. He says on the file to her Eden, what and Amina Pauline. I was I was misguided at that time. I was astray. I did not understand. But I did that. Yes, I did that. But I was unemployable. Lena at that time. So what we understand is that we cannot hold people, we cannot hold people's
pasts against them. In our own society today, in our own society, there are celebrities, athletes, who commit wrong. People do not like them for that. But then they go through a rehabilitation process. And they come a rehabilitated and the society gives them a second chance.
The society gives them another chance. Yet, a lot of times in the Muslim community, we don't want to give people a second chance that is passing a judgement about others. That is us judging someone else. When why she came to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and this was a man who killed the uncle. The Prophet SAW Salem. The person welcomed him with open arms. When the person went back to Mecca. He understands he remembers all the persecution that took place at the hands of the Quraysh, the boy called the three long years, the person remembers the Sahaba the misogyny, they remember, but yet the police have never held that against them. He says, everybody equally young
milliohm y'all fit Hola Hola, como, who are hamara? I mean, nothing against you today. I let it go. So what's important is that yes, they're going to be people in our family. Yes, they're going to be people in our community in our society. They have done wrong, but we cannot judge them and say that they are a very bad person. Yes, they may have come into something in the past. But if they are rehabilitated, and they have done Toba and they have turned to Allah subhanho wa taala, which we may not even know. But we have we cannot pass judgments about people like this. The second type of judgment that we do is when it comes to our level of religiosity. We think that we are so perfect,
because I do such and such I'm better than someone else. Remember brothers and sisters, just because if you go to the masjid, that does not give you the right to be judgmental about someone who does not come to the masjid. The fact that I may have a beard, I do not have a right to be judgmental about someone who does not have a beard. This is our cultural mindsets that teach us these kinds of things. That is not what our deen teaches us. When we see a person in Haram, when we see a person who may not even believe in Allah, we do not even have a right to pass a judgement about them. And the reason I say that is because I take you back to the CETA, again, of the Prophet sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam, when the Muslims were packing, when the Muslims were getting their luggage together, to go and travel to every single to make a joke to Abyssinia when the women who were traveling, her name was Leila, and Leila. And you know, at that time, when you're getting your things together, and you're, you know, gathering all your belongings and you're moving away, it was a big deal at that time. Because you're moving into another land where you don't understand their culture, you may not understand their, their their language and so forth. It was a very big move. But the Sahaba they went because they were being persecuted in Mecca because of their religion, and
almost even a hubbub who was a Muslim at that time he walked by, he walked by Leila, and he said Leila, what are you doing? And he said and she says that because of people like you, we have to move from here. We cannot stay here in Mecca. And Amara that time
said that okay, wherever you go, may Allah be with you. He says something along those lines. Now, Leila was, of course shocked to hear something like this. Later that day when her husband came, he asked, you know, anything, any news, anything that went on today? And she said, Yeah, interestingly, Omar came around today. And he said that what did Obama say? And she says that, you know, Omar and I, we had this dialogue. And at the end, he said that May Allah be with you wherever you go. And then she said that do you think do you think that Eman has entered, or Iman is going to enter into the heart of Omar? And he said Lila's husband said, he goes, I believe that the donkeys of the house
of Omar will accept Islam before Omar does.
He was judgmental, he passed a judging statement. Now realizing who eventually will become, not only will he become a Muslim, but he will become a Khalifa and he will become such a wise leader that the Prophet saw some says no kind of body and began Locanda armor that if there was a prophet to come after me, it will be on Monday. So today when we look at other people, and we judge them, and we think that we're better than because of our religiosity, remember that none of us no matter how much we think that we are religious, none of us have been given any kind of guarantee from Allah that we are going to Janna. We all are striving. Go back to the Hadith go remember the Hadith, the Hadith,
the Unite we have heard so many times, Maha daddy Walia for the earth and to who will herb the whoever shows eminent tea to one of my Willies, one of my friends, one of the people who are close to me, I declare war against that person. One of the most interesting things that the the Alama they mentioned about this hadith is that was beautiful is that no one it's not written on anyone's forehead who's actually so meaning that if you do anything to someone, you hurt someone, that person could be a worldly of Allah subhanho wa taala. You and I, we don't know it's not written on our forehead, it's not written on our wrist, there is no kind of sign that this person is a Willie.
Anyone could be a Willie. There are people who may be coming to our community, they may be quiet, but these are the people who are waking up late at night. These are the people who are connected to Allah subhanho wa taala. So never, never shall we ever think that I'm better than someone in terms of religiosity, in terms of religiosity. And I'm better than them overall. Because once again, only Allah decides who is better than someone else. Yes, if I see that I'm doing more than someone else. You can say Alhamdulillah, Allah has given me the trophy. But still, that does not give me the right to be judgmental about someone else. Now, regarding judgment, or being judgment about others,
there's two important things I do want to mention. And I need you all to please pay attention to these things. Two things very important. Number one is that in my interaction as a community leader, and I'm sure that even other leadership here at the masjid, they can agree and they will, and I'm sure they have also been approached about this too.
That a lot of times, we are so overly obsessed, overly obsessed with what other people are saying about us, or what other people are thinking about us. And I always share this, and I'll share this with everyone here too. If there are two things, or two things that we any, any one of us, we have no control over is what people will think about us. And what people will say about us will lie, we have no control over that none whatsoever. It does not matter who it is. It does not matter who it is, you may be the most religious person, you may not be religious, might be rich, poor, you know, it doesn't matter. Everyone is going to have an opinion about you. Everyone's gonna say something
about you. And what happens is that we are sometimes so overly obsessed with what people have to say about me and think about me that we are more worried about what they are doing and what they're thinking and saying that we're not focused on the other. And what is that other? Our other job is to please Allah subhanho wa Taala Our job is not to worry about what they think of us. Our job is to think is to worry about what Allah thinks of me. My job is to worry about not pleasing them. My job and our job is to please Allah subhanho wa taala. So while yes, there are going to be people who will be judgmental about us, but the question that I need to ask myself is
that even if some people are saying things about me, first of all is ask yourself this one question. Are you doing that one thing or not? If some someone is saying that you are doing something wrong, or I'm doing something wrong, I'm doing something wrong. I need to ask myself, I need to ask myself, Am I doing that one thing wrong or not? When our whole affair when they were approached by anyone, and they were approached, and they were told that you are doing something wrong, they never will get upset, but rather they will always look and they will ask themselves, am I really doing that one thing, one or not? That's what we need to ask ourselves. And at the end of the day, we need to
please Allah subhanho wa taala. So yes, they're going to be people who will be judgmental about us, but we cannot be worried about them how many times I've met youth, and just so worried about others, and they're not focused on what they need to truly focus on. So this applies to everyone, youth, adults, anyone, we need to be more worried about what Allah thinks of us, and what Allah has to say about us. The second thing I do want to mention which is very important is and this is for people who are in the field of Dawa, those who are generally giving lectures holla cause going out giving Dawa and he plays, calling people to Allah subhanho wa Taala in any capacity. And overall, there is
this, this, you know, we each one of us, no matter how knowledgeable we are, we always want to bring people closer to Allah subhanho wa Taala we find we follow the Quran and Sunnah ourselves, but we always want to bring people closer to Allah subhanho wa taala. But then what happens is this. A lot of times when we begin to do, I'm with my roof and a yarmulke, we invite to good and we forbid evil. Okay, when we do this, a lot of times we began to think about that, am I being judgmental about this person or not? So a lot of times, what happens is that we approached a person, that person is coming in Haram, for example, we approach the person, we want to bring that person closer to Allah. But
then we began to think about in my being judgmental about this person or not. And when we have these thoughts in our mind, we usually take a step back. And when someone says that, why would you not want to stop this person from committing haram, the argument that we usually say, or we have is, I'm not the judging person. So what happens is that the person is coming in Haram, we stay quiet, because I don't want to be a judging person. But that's also wrong to see when it comes to being judgmental. There has to be a balance and when I when I mean balance is that one is to be judgmental, but one is to do our Muslim obligation, which is inviting towards good and forbidding
evil, this is our obligation. So if we find ourselves ever in a situation like this, we have to of course, the Quran says, Oh, do enough. So we are becoming Hekmati? Well, moreover, when you go to someone and you want to invite them to good, and you want to forbid, you want to forbid the Haram, then in that case, we have to apply wisdom, we have to apply compassion, we have to apply understanding, by staying silent. By staying silent, we're not doing any good. So a lot of times, I said, what happens is, either some people are gonna go and invite towards good and forbid from evil, and they will do it in the most harsh way. And that is one extreme. And then the other extreme is
that no, I'm gonna, I'm not going to stop this person from committing haram, because I'm not the person to judge and that is also wrong. Our Deen has taught us a very balanced approach. And the balanced approach is that we always approach the person with wisdom, with harmony with compassion, and we try to stop them from what they're doing. Now, if someone in that process tells us that you are being judgmental, at the end of the day, our heart has to be clean. I'm not passing a verdict about this person, we have to remember that I'm not going to pass a verdict about this person, but I'm going to also fulfill my Muslim obligation, my Islamic obligation, which is inviting good and
forbidding evil. And then at that time, that is when we do what we have to do and then we pray to Allah Subhana Allah to Allah, and we ask Allah subhana wa Taala to give us wisdom and give us compassion in our approach. At the same time, may Allah keep our hearts clean, from passing averted about anyone else. So this is when it comes to giving Dawa. This is a very big dilemma amongst people who are giving Dawa and I've been part of these kinds of conversations that what is the extent what is right and what is wrong? And I just wanted to make this very, very clear that there are two extremes, but there is a also a balanced approach. I ask Allah subhana wa Taala that he
keeps our hearts clean. I ask Allah subhana wa Taala that never that he put an in yes we do this I mean Allah subhana clean us heart clean our heart. May Allah Subhan Allah forgive us if we ever do this, and may Allah subhanho wa Taala clean our heart from any other
Any other any other Omran of any other diseases and sicknesses of the heart, may Allah subhanho wa Taala give us the ability to respect one another, to fulfill each other's rights and dignify one another whether it's in our family or in the community overall amenable Alameen Baraka hola hola hola Willa comfortable and then when I find out what you're gonna do with the good Hakeem and stuff Allah honey welcome Walliser intimacy manifesto Pharaoh in the hood will go full Rahim
