questions in their mind. And they began to ask questions. So a young child will come to their
father, they will come to the mother and they will begin to ask questions about Islam. Why did Allah

grew up overseas. And the concept overseas that we developed is that you never asked a question.
Like if they ever a chef, was giving a lecture. And the chef would say, is there anyone who would
have a question? No one would ask questions. Why? Because it was viewed as a disrespect, when you
would ask questions when people came to their parents, even the parents, even right now, parents who
are sitting here right now, when you were young, and you went to your parents, and you ever had a
question about Islam, it is not because you were doubting Islam, but it was just because of your own
		

			curiosity that you wanted an answer or you wanted an explanation, and you went to your parents. And
the first time you ask your own parents a question about Islam, they either slap you, or they
probably said something to you, which was disrespectful. Why? Because they felt like they You cannot
ask questions at all when it comes to the matters of Islam. And so we grew up in this way. Now, when
we come to this country, you will see that after the after the hospitals, or after the lectures,
people they come and they ask questions to the IMA, we will ask questions to the Sheoak and the
scholars. And some people still view that as a disrespect that you cannot ask.

said that what does Islam say about asking questions?
		

			Like what is the limit that Sharia has stipulated? When it comes to making a question or asking a
question about faith about anything related to religion? What is the limit? What are the hadith of
Allah subhanho wa taala. So I want to take this opportunity to talk about that what Islam has told
us, because Islam has said that there are some areas that you can ask a question, you have a full
right to ask a question. There are there are things that are found in our deen that says that if
there is a curious or you are curious about something, then you have a right to be curious. But then
there are some limitations attached and associated with that. There are some areas where you
		

			shouldn't be asking questions and there are some areas where you should not be asking questions. So
this is what I want to talk about today because this is something that's very confusing to all of
us. First thing is brothers and sisters, that when it comes to the commands of Allah subhanho wa
Taala when it comes to that, which is halal and that which is haram, those are the areas that cannot
be questioned. In a hadith of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he says in an ohana and
Albanian that the halal and that which is lawful that has come from Allah subhanho wa Taala is very
clear when haram OBEY Him and that which Allah has made prohibited and unlawful is very clear. So
		

			there are things that we know that are halal and haram in our deen. There are some key fundamentals
when it comes to our EDA that we can never ask we can never ask questions about it. Yes, we can be
curious curious about it. And we may have questions, but there is a difference between asking a
question
		

			questioning. There's a difference between asking a question and questioning. Let me bring your

questions about how to implement the teachings of Allah and the teachings of Musa alayhis salam. But
rather what they're doing is that they are questioning Musa alayhis salam on every single thing as
if they are doubting Musa alayhis salam in the story of the cow that the people of Bani Saeed came

Allah Subhanallah says this idea that you have gone far away from the path, you have gone far away
from the path. So this is an area where question people cannot ask questions. Yes, you can ask if
you have a clean heart, if you have a clear intention. And you want to know Why did Allah subhanaw
taala stipulate this upon us? Why do we have to pray five times a day salah. Now there is not really
an answer to that. People can come up with explanations that you know, the reason we pray five times
		

			a day is because throughout the day, we remember Allah subhanho wa taala. This shows our obedience
to Allah subhanho wa taala. But in essence, the real answer to this question, is that because Allah
told us to do so this is why we do it. And that is it. We don't question after that. Yes, there
might be as someone who says, I'm still curious to know, why do we have to pray five times a slot
and that's fine. You can be curious about that. As long as it's fine as long as you don't spread
that to others. And then you don't let that hold you hostage. And that does not affect your iman.
The second area where we learn from the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam where we should not be
		

			asking questions is when the matter is irrelevant to us.
		

			A man came to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and said yeah rasool Allah, when is the Day of
Judgment? It's irrelevant. Yes, we all like to know when of the day of judgment but is that relevant
to us? That's not relevant to us. Allah subhanho wa Taala says, we're in the in Allah in the Quran
Musa the knowledge of the last day only belongs to Allah subhanho wa taala. Allah says in the Quran,
LA, he you wrote during Messiah, that the knowledge of the of the Last Day belongs only to Allah
subhanho wa taala. So this man comes to the province of Solomon, he says that when is the Day of
Judgment? Now the Prophet alayhi salam, the way he responded to him, teaches us a very valuable
		

			lesson, that first of all, you should not be asking questions that are irrelevant, something that
cannot possibly happen, something that is, you know, considered as you know, a figment of your
imagination. It's something that is not practical, you shouldn't be asking questions about those
kinds of things. They're providing you some instead of responding to him, that Allah has a knowledge
of the Day of Judgment. He says to the person, that what preparations have you made for the Day of
Judgment, you are so worried about when the day judgment is going to occur? But have you prepared
for that last day, so meaning that don't be worried about when the last day is going to occur? be
		

			worried about making preparations for that last day? So if there is a question that is irrelevant to
us, that is another area where we should stay away from the time of the province that Allahu Allah
he was sending him. A man came to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam In fact, the prophet son
was sitting with his own Sahaba and he says that Allah has sent down the obligation of Hajj. Allah
has sent down the obligation of Hajj, before it continue, please come forward. Please come forward.

year? And then the Prophet of Islam stay quiet? And that's the hobby he stopped asking.
		

			The prophet at some later on told this man, the Why do you ask questions that if Allah were to
respond to your question you kept on asking is hij every year and if I would have responded to you,
yes. That imagine the difficulty that would have come upon the OMA Imagine if every person had to go
for Hajj every year, how difficult would would that be upon the OMA of Rasulullah? sallallahu alayhi
wasallam. So the property is some he stayed quiet. And the lesson in this in this is, is this the
lesson in this hadith is this when our children even come to us? And they ask us a question that
might be irrelevant to them. And they don't even need to know the answer to that question. There are
		

			two things that you can do. Either you can redirect them. Or you can ask another question. You can
ask another question.
		

			And when you ask another question, a question that requires them to jog their mind and jog their
memory and try to brainstorm upon that
		

			Nice what you want to do, I'm not saying that's a way to get away. But that is something that you
want to do because the more they're going to think about that, the more that could probably affect
their Iman. So that is what we want to do when when we are when people ask us different questions.
There's a hadith of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he says it he said, in the wall hotter,

about is this. The what are the areas where you where you can ask a question. Number one is, if
		

			there is something in your heart, as I say, if there is some curiosity in your heart.
		

			And you have to understand as a believer that if you do not get the answer that satisfies you, you
should not hold your iman based on that answer. Meaning that if you ask a question regarding
anything related to Islam, and you don't get the answer that satisfies you, that doesn't mean that
it's the wrong answer. That doesn't mean it's the wrong answer. It means that you simply are not
satisfied. And that means that your iman is not at the level where it should be. So you can ask
questions, if you are curious, in fact, in the story of Ibrahim alayhis, salam, and the third, just
the second page of the third gers, Allah talks about not not one prophet, but Allah talks about two

probably provide an answer for you. It is not guaranteed Allah may or may not provide an answer. So
Allah subhanho wa Taala made this person go to sleep for how many years from 400 And up until now by

time based on his own dimensions. We have a different dimension of time. Allah has a different
dimension of time. And time means something else when it comes to Allah subhanho wa taala. Then

			guidance. And lastly, lastly, a very important lesson that is taught to all of us because when it
comes to asking questions, sometimes as a human being you sit there and you begin to ask questions
to yourself about about Islam. So who created us, Allah Subhan Allah created us the next question
that comes to our mind and shaytaan bringing this to our mind is the man who created ALLAH SubhanA
wa to Allah and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he says, the prophet it is some says that

gives us the understanding about these matters. Once again, ask questions do not question Have faith
