So,
last night we started to speak about,
dawah to Muslims,
and I always say that
dawah to Muslims is the most difficult part
of dawah. Making dawah to non Muslims, you
tell them this is what Islam teaches, this
is I cannot Islam, I cannot iman class.
But when you make dawah to Muslims, it's
very it's very difficult.
Because number 1, sometimes people confuse Islam with
culture. Like you tell them the Prophet SAW
did this, and they tell you no, no,
no, no. This is what we do in
Egypt, or this is what we do in
Pakistan.
So now they put the opinion or the
saying of the Prophet SAW
against what people do in their own culture.
And sometimes the culture is not actually accurate,
sometimes the cultural practices are acceptable Islamically, but
sometimes they are not.
Also, another problem is,
like, when you have, like, a medical problem,
everyone goes to the doctor. You don't trust
anyone except the doctor. You don't go to,
an engineer
or, a technician
to to to fix your problem. Right?
Everyone knows this saying from, from Pakistan,
Niem Hakim Khattarajan, Niemullah Khattar iman.
Half a doctor is dangerous to your health,
but half a scholar is dangerous to your
iman. Right? So
when it comes to Fatwa and,
Islam and whatever, everyone is a Mufti, everyone
is Dari even if they don't have the
proper knowledge. Right?
Bring it down? Yeah. A little bit. Okay.
She and her husband, they have been, fighting
and calling the police on each other.
Like, you know, they destroyed each other. So
she came to my office in tears, and
so she was sitting like right there on
the chair,
and she was crying, he's gonna take my
kids, and all that stuff. And all of
a sudden, another sister came in, she stood
by the door, and she asked that question,
like, if my son shaved his head in
Ramadan, does this invalidate his fasting? Something like
that.
And before I even opened my mouth to
get the answer, the sister was crying,
she was devastated, miserable. She started to give
the fatwa. She said, you know, I think,
your son should do this, and
I said, you know,
I'm
gonna do the fatwa,
you take care of your husband. Okay? This
is your job. Alhamdulillah. So everyone is a
Mufti. So we said last night,
Allah said that at the end of Surah
Nakhl
al
Hazam.
At
hikma means you choose the right time, the
right place,
the right person, the right approach, and so
on and so forth. And you have to
choose your priorities.
As I said before, if someone,
fill in the Lake Ontario, they don't know
how to swim,
and they have a golden ring, you don't
give a lecture for 1 hour about how
gold is halah for men. No. You take
them out,
then once they survive, inshallah, again, give them
the talk. But you leave them in the
water to drown, and you give them the
talk, this is not good. You have to
pick your priorities when you make down to
people.
We have some brothers here from Saint Catharines.
one Canadian brother, white brother, took shahada.
Alhamdulillah, in 2 years over there, more than
33 people took shahada, alhamdulillah. So this brother
took shahada,
and right after Salatul Jum'ah, there's an older
brother,
an older brother, they call them the Haram
Police. We have them in every Masjid. Right?
So they make sure everyone is doing the
right thing. So as soon as we finish
the salah,
and I, of course, I gave shahada to
the brother before the salah, this brother came
to me, older brother. He came to me
straight,
running, and he said, Brother, brother. I said,
Okay. What did I do wrong?
I said, Okay. This brother who just took
shahada, he needs to be circumcised.
Like, it doesn't fit in. Like, so before
before you allow him to pray, he has
to be circumcised where Salah is is not
accepted. Let's go. Asin,
go where?
No no no no no.
You got it all wrong. The priorities are
messed up. Right?
Salah is good. Tawhid is good. Then circumcision
later, most, you know, Christians and Jews are
gonna come to us anyway. Right? We can
take care of that later.
So hikma when you do dawah to the
people.
We spoke last night about some examples from
the Sunnah of the Prophet SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam,
how he made Dua to the people, and
I always say
that when you make Dua to people, you
focus on the mistake,
not on the person. Don't criticize the person,
don't call them an idiot.
Because once you attack them, once you offend
them, they will shoot you down, they will
not listen to you.
So you are nice to them, you focus
on the mistake, we love the brother, we
love the sister, but we don't like the
fact that they don't pray,
or they do drugs, whatever. Right? So we
love them as our brothers and sisters in
Islam. We hate the fact that they don't
pray, or they do drugs, whatever. Right? So
this is why we focus on a mistake,
and we don't attack the person. Right? We
love them, we care about them, this is
why we do an asiha to them. And
as I said last night, no one likes
to be corrected.
People feel, like, offended, and you scratch your
their dignity when you correct them. So this
is why you have to pick your words
carefully.
Another technique that the prophet
did, he didn't humiliate people in public if
they made a mistake. And this is something
we need to, to learn from the prophet
If you see a brother praying like this,
or a sister like this, they put their
left hand on their right hand.
Why do you go and talk to everyone
in the Masjid about how miserable they are?
They don't know how to make salah, and
the only one who doesn't know about the
mistake is the person who is doing the
mistake.
He should be the first one to know,
like you take him to the side and
correct him.
This is what the Prophet SAW Alaihi Wasallam
did. In authentic Hadith and Bukhari,
Aisha hadithullah has said, if someone made a
mistake, the Prophet SAW Alaihi Wasallam would say,
The Prophet SAW A'SALLAM would say, why do
some people say this or do this? And
he knows the name, but he doesn't mention
the name, but he gives a talk, so
everyone doesn't do the same mistake, but he
doesn't give the names. So he doesn't humiliate
the the person. So I'm gonna conclude with
this story inshallah.
It's an authentic Hadith,
fit Tabari
collection of Tabari of Hadith.
The person in the story is, Hawatib Najubayir
bin Sal. It's one of my favorite stories
in the sunnah about correcting people.
So Hawat ibn Jubayr ibn Salih, he did
a mistake. He made a mistake,
and the prophet didn't correct him in public.
He corrected him privately,
and the only reason why we know about
the mistake is after the death of the
prophet,
Hawat
from Madinah.
So he said, I went outside in a
camp with the Prophet
So in the break That was outside Madinah.
So in the break, I went outside the
camp of the Prophet
and I saw some beautiful women sitting there,
most most likely non Muslim. So he ran,
he got electrocuted, he ran back to his
tent, he put on his nicest clothes, you
know,
you know, perfume, all these things, and he
came back to them. And he sat with
the ladies and they started to crack jokes
and laugh and everything
and he said all of a sudden I
saw the Prophet SAW in front of me
I didn't expect it
Waqal Khan and Rasool Allah SAW Alaihi Wasallam
Allim and Muhaven When the Prophet SAW
comes forward
he was so honorable and so charismatic,
like, you know
So the Prophet
looked at me and smiled and he said,
what are you doing with the ladies?
So he said, La Hawa Allahu Fata He
said, I'm gonna just say anything to the
Prophet He said You Rasool Allah, I have
a wild camel,
my camel always runs away, it's a crazy
camel, always runs away. And these days, Masha'Allah,
like Alfiq Salih Hazalat, they are doing a
robe for me, so I'm gonna tie it,
you know, it doesn't run away. You know
what I'm saying?
And he said, Wallahi,
I know I was a liar, and the
Prophet SAWAYANNAH knows I was a liar. Like,
I was lying to him. I was not
telling the truth. There was no camel, no
rope, nothing.
So the Prophet SAWAYANNAH smiled and he laughed
and I looked after him. Instead of a
few days later, after we turned to Madinah,
I was walking in the street,
and I took a U-turn, and I saw
the Prophet
in front of me. I slowed down, the
Prophet stopped, and he turned around, and he
called me. Come here. Come here.
You Abdullah, Ma'far Ashiladu Jamelek. What happened to
your camel? The wild one, the crazy one
you were telling me about?
So he said, I didn't know what to
say. So the Prophet
smiled and left. He said, A few days
later, I was walking in Madinah,
and,
I heard the Prophet
behind me, like he was walking and the
people were saying Salaam Alaikum Rasool Allah So
I know he was after me,
I walked faster, the Prophet
walked faster than me and he called he
caught me
Khawat ibn Zubayr, and he said I was
in the masjid doing my Turaqa Taheb in
masjid like sunnah,
and all of a sudden the Prophet SAW
Salam came and he stood next to me.
So I know he's after me, because normally
the Prophet SAW Salam would go to the
front, I was in the middle, so he
came and he stood next to me. So
the Prophet SAW said, I prayed these 2
because he stood next to me. I decided
to recite the long gisoor in the book.
I made it very long. Yeah, I know.
And the Prophet SAW said, because I made
the salah long, he came close to me
and whispered,
prophet came to me and he said, Assalamu
Alaikum Abdullah, mafarashilah
jjalmalik. What happened to your camel? I said,
You Rasulullah,
I got some good news for you. My
camel took shahada, alhamdulillah, it's not it's not
running away anymore.
And the prophet smiled,
the best of the rabbi salallahu alaihi wa
sallam smiled, the best of the rabbi salallahu
alaihi wa sallam smiled, and he made dua
for him. Allah will give you a good
wife. Allah will give you gender. Now imagine
if the prophet salallahu alaihi wa sallam humiliated
him publicly, munafiq, zindeel,
and he tarred and feathered him, maybe he
would have left Islam, or maybe he would
never come to the masjid again. So we
need to be careful about how we approach
people and make dua to them. Hikma and
Mura'il al Khasnah will continue tomorrow inshaAllah. Ask
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to give us wisdom
and knowledge. Ameen, Ameen.
The question for last night, there's one ayah
in the Quran that has a tawurawalijeemal
Quran, one ayah. Just like one line.
There's only one ayah which is ayah 111
in Surah Tawba.
This is the holy Ayah. And the winner
is also another sister,
The sisters have been, like, winning almost every
day. What's going on here? It's going on
now. So the brothers need to, participate inshallah.
The sister is, sister
Hashem
brothers need to, participate, inshallah. The sister is,
sister Hafsa Mohammed.
So Hafsa Mohammed. Sala'alaykum.
Let's go on.
So tonight's question is very, very, very difficult.
If you follow Google, you will lose a
big time.
Why everyone knows what is the longest aya
in the Quran.
But very, very, very few people know the
shortest aya in the Quran. Don't follow Google,
Google. You will lose. The shortest ayah ever
in the Quran. If you know me if
you know the answer, email me inshallah before,
I'll ask for tomorrow at ibn Mustafa at
the natoliacenter.ca.
