May God for imam Bilal. May Allah
give him shifa, his, throat is hurting. Allah
give you shifa and a longer and healthy
life.
Spicy biryani will fix you up, for sure.
I know.
So,
now,
everybody loves stories, I'm gonna start with a
story.
I shared the story last year or the
year before, but I think it's it's very
relevant
to the month of Ramadan.
So basically, the story happened in Germany a
few years ago.
So basically there is a,
an electronic store by Best Buy Best Buy
in Germany.
So they were going to open their 90th
store.
So basically they have this competition.
So basically people applied for this competition and
eventually they chose the lucky one.
So basically basically the lucky one would go
to the store
at the appointed day and they will give
him 90 seconds. They will give him a
second per store, basically. So the total,
amount of time he has
is 90 seconds. Because this is the 90th,
store. So basically, he has 1 minute and
half to finish,
this race. So the rules basically were you
have 90 seconds,
once we whistle, you'll go inside and you
will take any stuff you need, from this
electronic stuff, you know,
computers, anything you want. You have 90 seconds
to take whatever you need, you get out
free of charge, you'll go home.
So basically,
this guy, his name is Sebastian, he's a
youth,
in 90 seconds, he was able to take
stuff from this store
for 40,000
Canadian
dollars. How did he do it? He basically
had a plan. He had a strategy before
he entered, and he can actually go to
YouTube and watch his interview.
He said, basically, I had a plan. From
the minute he was chosen, he was selected
to, you know, to take this competition,
he started to go to the store
and to familiarize
himself with the aisles,
where do they have, you know, Macbooks,
where do you have, you know, iPhone 7
or 10, whatever.
The most expensive and the lightest items, he
would put in his, you know, cart and
he would get out.
So basically, he knew where all the good
expensive stuff was. He got ready, he had
his running shoes,
Ma'kash Shri'aibab, ship shibibabu sabi, adakkulishwaizahlahuyaa,
you know? And he had his,
you know, his sportswear, he was ready, mashallah.
And he had the cart and he got
ready. As soon as they started, he he
knew where he was going.
All the I you know, Macbooks, all the
Iphones, all the expensive stuff, you know. And
the, you know, games and all the, you
know, expensive stuff. And close to the end,
you can see in the video, they have
the video of the competition.
About 3 or 4 minutes were left, he
got out,
and he actually found like, there is a
big fridge close to the, you know, where
you check out. He went inside and he
pushed it out. That's like, 3, $4,000
by itself. So the total was $4,000
$40,000,
you know. And the reason is, the guy
had a strategy.
And I usually use this example,
because
when we start the month of Ramadan, we
have no strategy whatsoever, you know. And SubhanAllah,
Ramadan is the only Ibadah that we don't
prepare for. So now count with me. If
someone comes to take their shahada, they want
to become Muslim, what do they do? They
read about Islam,
they take a shower, they make an appointment
with the imam, they come, take shahada, and
we hug them and kiss them, you know.
So there are preparations for shahada.
And if you are coming for salah,
of course, you will have to make wudu,
you will get dressed, you will drive to
the masjid,
time has to be on, you face the
qiblah, you you read, and so on and
so forth. For Zakat,
you have to make sure that you have
reached the Nisab, you have 4,000 in your
bank account, and, it has reached the Al
Hawl, which is 355,
days, Islamic,
annual, you know, calendar. 355
days.
And you have to look, you know? You
have to calculate all your assets.
Where am I gonna give the money? Am
I gonna give the money in Canada, or
am I sending it back home, and so
on and so forth. And,
and you have to make a lot of
calculations. Ahead of time, if you give your
money Ramadan, is aqaal, alhamdulillah.
For Hajj, you start to plan for Hajj
like a year before, which company I'm going
with,
which company has the best deals,
And the flights, and the ehram, and the
hotels, and a lot of details.
And
the initial plan was to go by yourself,
now your wife is after you, you don't
love me anymore, you have to take me
or talap.
You take your wife, now your mom is
in.
You you love your wife more than me,
so a big drama. You have to take
the whole family with you. Right?
So basically, you do a lot of, you
know, plans for for everything, but fasting
you know, Ramadan tomorrow or the day after
tomorrow, we're not sure when is there Thursday,
big confusion.
We have the what they call moon sighting,
I call it moon fighting. Because this is
what actually happened.
So anyway, no preparation for the month of
Ramadan, and this is why we have no
strategy.
And this is why a lot of people
come to me with all these crazy questions.
One of them was, one brother was asking,
I sleep the whole day,
12 hours, 17 hours, and I only wake
up for salah, and I go back to
sleep. Is my fasting valid?
And I tell him, brother, dude,
this is not fasting. This is the the
the dictionary definition of hibernation.
My god. What is this man? What's wrong
with you?
When I'm married I speak Urdu, as you
already know, you know, fluently.
So, yeah. And the other sister, Ramadan, first
day, Ramadan, brother, I want to give salah
to my husband. What I do? Come on,
man. This is not the time. This is
not the time. There's no strategy, you know.
If you were like this guy, Sebastian,
and you enter Ramadan with no strategy, no
plan, if you spend half an hour inside
the store, you'll come out with only a
clinics. Because you have no strategy, you know.
The prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam at the
sahaba, they started Ramadan with a strategy. And
the strategy was, there are 3 types of
Ibadah you do in Ramadan. If you want
to maximize your hasanat,
there is the physical Ibadah like salah, like,
you know, Sayam, like, you know, Tarawi, and
so on and so forth. The physical Ibadah,
Then you have the verbal Ibadah, which is
reading Quran, making Dua, with
your tongue. It doesn't cost you anything. And
the third type is the financial Ibadah, like
giving Sadaqa, giving Zakah, feeding those who are
fasting.
So these are the 3 strategies that we
need to have in Ramadan in order for
you to maximize your Hasanat, and I hope
that, we get the message Insha'Allah JazakAllah.
The question last night
was,
if someone is traveling from
Canada to Karachi,
and they have to break the riftar halfway,
in the air. Do they have to follow
Toronto time or Karachi time? And the answer
was neither of them. Whenever the sun sets,
or when you're on the plane, when it
gets dark, Halas, this is your Maghrib. You
don't have to worry about where you left,
and where where does your destination is. And
we have 2 brothers, our winners, tonight. Yusuf,
who had us gather up.
Are
they here?
So I go
I know this guy. This is Yusuf.
High five two. Okay. Jazak Al Khayr. Share
with you, brother. One more thing here.
Zakkullahu alayhi. Takbeer!
Now the question for tonight, you have to
think about it. So it's winter time, you're
fasting,
it's a rainy day,
and before sun before Maghrib, the sun set,
this is what you saw, and you started
to eat, 10 minutes later the sun came
out,
you know. So it was just the clouds
that blocked the sun. It it the sun
didn't really set. What do you have to
do with this day? Do you have to
continue your fasting? Make up the day? What
do you need to do? If you know
the answer, email me before tomorrow. Asrath imamustafatnatoyasintur.ch.
