I know it's getting a little bit hot.
We're working on the, air conditioning in the
back, inshallah.
So, basically
I'm maybe I told you the story of
this brother who are in, in the US,
and I remember,
1st night of Taraweeh, 1st day of Ramadan.
And this guy came to me, and he
said, Imam, I have a question for you.
First day of Ramadan. And I said: Okay,
what's your question? And he said: when is
Eid?
We just started, man.
And I said: Okay, I'm gonna tell you
a hadith that will make you love Ramadan
so much. There's this hadith in Muslim of
Imam Ahmed.
The 2 men from the tribe of Qudah
accepted Islam, and many years later one of
them died, the first one of them died
as shahid,
and the second one died a natural death
a year after.
So,
Tal Khaled
he saw a dream.
And in that dream he saw the second
one who died a natural death a year
after, going to Jannah first and being higher
in rank in Jannah.
And the one who died shahid
entered Jannah after and he was lower in
rank so he went to the prophet in
salatul fashr and told him the story and
the sahabah were astonished like how come? And
Nabi said Atajamun and Ibadik
Are you astonished that the second one who
died a natural death went to Jannah before
the shahid, and he is higher in rank?
Didn't the second one who died a, a
year after,
didn't he fast an extra Ramadan than the
first one? Didn't he pray more salah?
In total, in a year, you pray 1,800
prayers.
Didn't he read Quran? Didn't he make dua?
Didn't he give salatah? And this is why
he is higher in rank and he went
to Jannah before. And I told him: Do
you like the hadith? He's in Mashallah, it's
amazing. When is Aid?
And he said: Bang, get out.
So basically
basically Allah
knows that the lives of this ummah are
short. We're going to live a short life
compared to other people like Sheith and Adam
alayhi salam and Nuh and Nuh and 1,000
years, 2,000 years. There's a hadith in Bukhary,
the Prophet
said that Amaru Umati Mabein al Khamsinawasatin
waqalilunman
yajuzu valik.
The the, the,
average lifespan of my Ummah is like 50
60 years, and a few will live longer
than that. And in that particular hadith he
said, you know, from Adam alaihis salam and
his children,
they were 60 feet in height, and they
lived 1000 of years.
And with time people will get shorter, and
they will live less than the people who
existed before until you came, like, to someone
like me. You know, very short, I can't
even play basketball. You know, very short. And
it's gonna get worse. Next generations are gonna
get smaller and smaller and smaller, you know,
it's gonna get terrible.
And how do we make up for this
that we live a short life?
Allah
gave us some time, special times and special
places
in which the deeds are multiplied
immensely.
So we should say Alhamdulillah
for Ramadan, we shouldn't complain when Ramadan comes,
you know. Some people see the moon and
they get scared. You should be happy that
Ramadan is here.
Now, we know that the reward is multiplied
in the month of Ramadan. You pray 1
Fard, like Salatul Isha as we prayed, you
get the reward of 70 Isha.
You pray Sunna Turaka Sunna, you get the
reward of fard.
You do Umrah in Ramadan, you get the
reward of Hajj as the prophet said, and
this is based on authentic Hadith. And the
prophet
was asked in a Hadith,
What is the best Sadaka? He said, Sadaka
in Ramadan.
And the reason is their word is multiplied.
Their word is multiplied. So a Sadaka in
Ramadan is better than Sadaka any other time
of the year.
So now if you look at the last
10 nights of the month of Ramadan,
this is a very special time, and there's
a lot of good things that you can
do. Reading Quran will not cost you anything,
making dua is free, You don't have to
pay anything for dua. Actually, you don't pay
even GST
for making dua. It's free. You communicate with
Allah
anytime you want.
Laylatul Qadr, one night,
you pray a little bit, you pray Isha,
you pray like half an hour in taraweeh,
you make Dua, you read Quran, maybe give
Sadaqa here and there, and Allah will give
you the reward of a 1000 month or
even more. And if you calculate this, a
1000 month, 12 months in the year, that's
83 to 84 years. For half an hour
that you do in the in Laylat Al
Qadr. And I'm not gonna talk about the
day of Ashura,
the day of, Arafah, and so on and
so forth. These are special times.
So yes, we live a short life, but
if you take advantage of these special times
and these special places, Allah will reward you
immensely.
And
maybe you would be ahead of those who
lived a 1000 or 2000 years.
Who knows? Maybe you would be ahead of
them because the reward is multiplied.
We know, from the story of Nuh alaihis
salam,
they say he he, he dedicated 950
years of his life to dawah. He was
making dawah, al fasanatilahi lakhamsin a'am. But many
of the scholars say he actually lived 1,005
100 years.
This is how long he lived. And he
was asked, how do you look at your
life? He said, well, it's as if I
entered my house from the front door and
I left from the back door.
1500
years. What about us, Meskeen? 50 years, 60
years? You died in the living room.
I will lie, very very short. And there
is also a story, a woman came to
Nuh-uh alaihis salam, and she was in tears,
and she said my son died.
And he said how old was he? And
she said he was 300 years old. And
he said subhanAllah, miskeen.
And he was a baby, 300 years. Because
they lived 2000 years. So in our case,
because we live short lives, Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala gave us Ramadan. Laylatul Ta'at, day of
Arafah, day of Ashura to make up. And
as I said, hopefully we will be ahead
of those people who lived 1000 of years
because of the multiplied rewards. We ask Allah
to give us the Barakah of Ramadan.
The question last night,
someone decided to eat during the day of
Ramadan, but they turned the house upside down
but they couldn't find anything to eat. No
biryani, no shawarma, nothing. They couldn't find anything
to eat. So I said, Khallaz, miskeen, I'm
gonna continue my fast.
Is their fasting valid? And the answer is
no, because one of the requirements for fasting
is Niyah. You have to have the Niyah,
and the winner is brother Karim. Is he
here? Karim?
Yeah. TashaAllah. Takbir.
He's the first winner for tonight,
and we're giving him an amazing award
sponsored by Burger Factory. Enjoy. InshaAllah.
High five.
Ashallah. ShazakAllah.
You're the man? It's for you. Enjoy.
You can give your dad a little bit.
InshaAllah. ShazakAllah.
The question for tonight, you're traveling from Toronto
to Karachi.
Right?
And, you have to do iftar on the
way.
Do you break your fast to you iftar
based on the Toronto time or Karachi time?
If you know the answer, email me before
tomorrow. Asrat Imam Mustafa at the natoliacenter.ca.
Jazakkalohair.
