So the last 10 days and 10 nights
of Ramadan will start tomorrow at sunset
and with the beginning of the night of
21st
of Ramadan.
20 days are gone. 1 third of the
month is left. So you still have a
chance inshallah to make up. Salaamu Ta'ajid will
be tomorrow night at 3 in the morning
and the ufana for
Thursday morning. Yes. Thursday morning at 3 AM
and the ufana for would be 10 minutes
after
So for the past few weeks, a few
days, we spoke about the verbal Ibadah like
recitation of the Quran
and and we also spoke about the physical
Ibadah like fasting,
salaab, and
so on and so forth.
And today and in the coming, couple of
days, inshaAllah, we'll be talking about the financial
So today inshallah, we'll talk about generosity and
generosity is one of the attributes of Allah
Subhanahu Wa Salam
So the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam was
the most generous of all people as reported
in the hadith in Sahih al Bukhari. And
he was exceptionally
generous in the month of Ramadan.
So much so
as reported in Sahih al Bukhari that some
of the sahaba would ask for his
clothes and he would take off take off
his clothes and give it to them. So
some of the Sahaba would take his clothes
to be used as a shroud kafat for
them when they die, and would shroud them
in the clothes of the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wa sallam to be a shafa'ah for
them.
The companions of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa
sallam were the most generous after the prophet
sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. And we don't have
enough time to give you stories of their
generosity towards Dawah and with the prophet sallallahu
alaihi wa sallam and
helping Islam in the beginning.
Like the generosity of Abu Bakr Uthman Ali
and the rest of the Sahab
So generosity can be in your manners, the
way you treat people, your attitude, and your
behavior
and with your money.
The prophet says
that smiling in the face of your brother
is a charity. You don't have to pay
the money. You just smile and it's a
charity for you.
And charity with your money, financial
charity. And the first one is the moral
charity.
This beggar,
he needed some money so he knocked on
somebody's door and he said, please give me
some money. I'm hungry. They said, we got
no money. We don't have no food.
So he insisted, they kicked him out and
they pushed him in the street. So he
said if you guys don't have money at
least have some manners. Okay?
The way you talk to people at least
have some manners.
So Al Hadad appointed someone as a ruler,
a governor
for a faraway,
place like a city or village,
and that valley, this governor was away from
his family for a long time.
A guest came to him from his village
so that governor wanted to know about his
family, his wife and because he hasn't seen
them for a long time.
He started to eat and the guest was
sitting in front of him and he didn't
offer him no food. And the guest was
hungry.
So the governor says, how is my house
in the village back home? He said, Alhamdulillah
your house is good. How about my wife?
Alhamdulillah, fantastic.
How is my son? He is very good.
How is my daughter? Rasha Allah. It's everywhere,
all over the place. How is my cousin?
Masha Allah, very healthy.
Then the governor said, you guys take out
the food, I'm not eating.
And the guest was he didn't eat nothing.
So he said to the guest, please tell
me again, you know, how is my family
and everything because I was not paying attention
as I was eating. How is my dog?
So he said your dog died because he
was mad because he didn't eat nothing. He
said your dog died. So he said, how
did
how did my dog die? He said, he
choked on a bone from your camel.
He said,
did my camel die? He said, yes. Because
they overburdened
your camel, carrying stones to the grave of
your wife. He said, did my wife die?
Yes. Why? Because she cried. She broke her
heart crying over your son.
He said, did my son die? Yes. He
said, your house collapsed over him and he
died. The whole family died. The dog died,
your camel died. So he got his gun
to shoot him in the hand, so the
guest jumped out of the window. So this
is the story.
