Mustafa Khattab – Mistranslated Verses Of The Quran The Word Taqwa

			The word the taqwa is always,
		

			mistranslated
		

			in the Quran, it's commonly mistranslated.
		

			The word taqwa in the Arabic language, the
		

			way we use it, it does not only
		

			mean
		

			to be afraid of Allah. Like when you
		

			see the word taqwa, half taqwa of Allah,
		

			ittaqala,
		

			most translators use fear Allah, fear Allah.
		

			In the sense that,
		

			like when a thief
		

			is afraid of the cops or the, police
		

			officers, this is not the way we understand
		

			the word Taqwa in the Quran. It means
		

			to be in awe of Allah Subhanahu Wa
		

			Ta'ala, to be mindful of Him, to keep
		

			Him in your mind.
		

			Whatever you do, whatever you say, you all
		

			are always thinking of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
		

			and this why you choose to do the
		

			right thing and to say the right thing
		

			because this will have some,
		

			consequences in the end. We will be held
		

			accountable
		

			in the end for what we say and
		

			what we do. And this is why the
		

			concept of taqwa is very important in Islam,
		

			and it doesn't only mean to be afraid
		

			of Allah,
		

			I prefer to use to be mindful of
		

			Allah, to be in awe of Allah
