Mustafa Khattab – Inheritance

So in this story,

Al Hajaz was a tyrant,

just like the guys who live today at

home.

He got a man.

A lady came to him to intercede

because he wanted to kill 3 men. So

she came to intercede for her husband,

her son,

and her brother.

These were the 3 men he took. So

she said, these are the only people left

for me. Nobody is is there to take

care of me except these 3.

So he

said, because I'm a good guy, I have

a big heart. He was a tyrant. He

said, I have a big heart. I'm gonna

leave one for you, take him home with

you, but I'm gonna kill the other 2.

Fat, she chose her brother.

Why?

Because

if her husband

was killed, she would go ahead and marry

another guy,

and she would give birth to other kids.

Right? But

her father was dead. Her mother was dead.

She didn't have no brothers, no sisters, so

that was the only one left for her.

So she couldn't get another one.

So this topic today is a very important

one. It's it breaks my heart all the

time when people come to me complaining

that their brother

took the land and they took the share

of inheritance.

Everywhere I go, I get the same complaint.

It breaks my heart. Now people break off

their relationships

with their family and their their brothers and

sisters because of this, because of the inheritance.

Now, you put your relationship with your brother

or your sister on one hand and you

put that peace of mind or that money

on the other hand, and most people go

for the land and go for the money

and

to heck with their brothers and sisters, and

they cut off their relationships.

In this authentic Hadith,

in Bukhali al Muslim, the prophet

says, whoever takes a piece of land that

doesn't belong to him,

especially from his family or brothers and sisters,

then on the day of judgment, that piece

of land will be chained to his neck

and it will collapse

with him to the 7th earth.

It will collapse with him. So this is

the punishment. It shows you that this grace

that this person will,

experience on the day of judgement.

So the the story

is usually mentioned

in relation to the story of Sahib al

Nizayl. He was one of the 10 Sahaba

who got the news of Jannah.

So a lady

went to the ruler of Madinah, Barwar al

Hakim, and she said, he took my land.

He took my land.

So

Marwan,

Sayid al Nizaid said, how can I take

your land after I saw the prophet sallallahu

alaihi wa sallam with my own eyes,

say, if a person takes a piece of

land that doesn't belong to him, then Allah

subhanahu wa ta'ala will chain it to his

neck on the day of judgement, and it

will collapse with him to the 7th earth?

Wallahi, I didn't take anything, so Saeed al

Hakam or or the, the the ruler of

Badira said, okay. I don't need any other

proof from you. Go to your house. So

Saeed ibn Zayed, the man who was accused,

said, oh, Allah, if you know that she

is a liar,

make her blind

and make her land or make her grave

in her land. So the narrator of the

hadith Ra'uwata Musulay said, bye, Allah.

I lived long enough

to see that lady blind in Madinah,

touching or feeling the the the the, walls

of homes to to get to her house.

So she got blind and she couldn't go

to her house.

And one day, she was walking in her

land and there was a well, and she

fell in that well and she died in

it, and that became her grave.

And that was their the answer

to the dua of Sayeed

So the problem what do you need to

do? If you took something from your brother

or your sister, you have to give it

back. It is not yours. Okay?

What is yours? Don't give it to anyone.

But what is other people's, you have to

give it back to them. Because the prophet

says in this hadith, if you owe something

to your brother or your sister, you have

to give it, back to them before the

day of judgement. Because on the day of

judgement, there's no dollar,

there's no pound, there's no riyam, there's no

lira.

What you will do on that day, you

will deal with Hassanat and Sayyad.

If you owe somebody something like your brother

and sister, you took their land, you took

their money, then Allah will take from your

Hassanat and give them.

If you don't have Hassanat, Allah will take

from their Sayyad evil deeds, and he will

put it on you. Then if nothing is

left for you, then

gone.

Okay. I didn't take the land.

My father took all the land and gave

it to me. I didn't take it. So

if my father

was is to blame because he took all

the land, he gave it to me. I

didn't take it of my own free will.

Okay. If your father did a mistake, you

have to correct the mistake,

or you will share in the senate.

If you don't correct the mistake, then your

kids will have to correct the mistakes.

Because the the rights of people,

yeah, they have to give him have to

be given back even after 100 of years.

The passage of time is not,

does not waive the rights of people. You

have to give it for your children or

their children. You have to give it back.

So Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says in the

Quran,

will it be that when Allah Subhanahu Wa

Ta'ala establishes you in the land that you

become corrupt and you cut off your relationships

with your family and brothers and sisters

by taking their land, so you have to

give it back.

Otherwise, you'll be punished for this.

So I know the story of a man

and his sister.

The father of these 2 gave all the

land to 1, the man, and he deprived

the the door.

So after 30 or 40 years in courts,

that man died. And one of his children

decided to give back the rights to that

lady. And Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, because that

man

was sincere enough and he wanted to give

back what was taken from his aunt, Allah

sent him

$8,000 He paid,

all the money or her money from that

man, money and he took some of it

as a word from Allah

So he didn't pay a single penny from

his father. It was all from Allah.

So the man in the story is my

father

and the lady is my aunt and that

little

child in the story is myself. So if

you want to pay back, then Allah Subhanahu

Wa Ta'ala will reward you for your sincerity.
