Can everyone, turn this way?
Yeah.
So,
over the last,
few months
since the school started in, September, we have
been talking about how to be a good
Muslim and how to be a successful citizen,
and we said you have to,
have some plans for the future,
and you have to have a vision for
your future.
You have to work hard, put your trust
in Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,
be a good person.
So,
there is this book series, they call it,
Idiot's Guide
to Something. Like, if you want to,
to, if you want to learn Facebook, or
if you want to learn how to write
a book, or if you want to learn
about Islam,
or any any subject. Engineering,
robotics, anything.
They have you buy the book,
Idiot's Guide
to Robotics, for example.
So,
today, InshaAllah, I'm gonna give you the Idiot's
Guide to Failure.
If you want to fail
if you want to fail, I'm gonna give
you the recipe in just 5 minutes. Right?
There are 3 things basically you need to
do if you want to be a failure.
If you want to fail in life, you
have no future,
no success, there are 3 things you need
to do.
Say Bismillah?
Bismillah.
Bismillah. Number 1,
And number 3,
and number 3,
keep arguing and debating with everyone for no
reason.
The first thing
the first main characteristic
of losers is they keep whining all the
time.
They want me to
listen to that. Listen to this. What do
you like?
You Allah.
Why didn't you give me a rich father?
You Allah, why didn't you give me another,
you know, parent or something? I heard this
before. Right?
I need a father who has lots of
money, who would take us, like, on vacation
all the time, who would buy us all
the candy we like, who would buy us
all the clothes we like, who would buy
us all the candy we like.
So they basically,
to love their parents, they want their parents
to take them all the time to Toys
R Us, so they fill a truck with
toys.
They go to,
that place.
Barn.
But if they ask them, will you please
come and pray for just 2 minutes?
Oh, World War 3.
Come on, man.
They want to watch TV all day long,
play video games all day long,
and when they ask you for 5 minutes
to do your homework,
I'm miserable because of you. Why are you
doing it?
Come on, man.
Come on. This is your job. Your job
is to do your homework, not to watch
TV all day long.
So they whine about their dads not having
lots of money,
like Bill Gates.
They talk they whine about their mom.
Oh, my mom, her cooking skills are in
the basement,
and the best thing she can cook is
to boil an egg. What is this? Biryani
everyday?
Why Allah? Give me another mother.
Come on, man.
Stop whining. They whine about their teachers.
Too much homework.
They whine about the imam, he reads longest
surah in the book in salah.
He makes me miserable.
They whine about everything and everyone.
They whine about the weather,
Cold? Too cold? What is this?
Summertime? They whine about the heat. Too hot?
What is this?
They always whine.
Right?
Why? So stop whining, please. Stop whining, please.
The best thing to do,
best thing to do,
if you don't want to be a loser,
the best thing to do
is to follow. There's a beautiful hadith from
the Prophet SAWH, so remember this hadith.
If you live in a small house, look
at those who are homeless.
If your car is so small, look at
those who walk to work for example because
you cannot afford a car.
If you want to buy your clothes, look
at those who don't have clothes at all.
Right?
If you want about the food,
look at those who dig in the garbage
can
to look for food. And I gave you
the example before,
I I have seen someone,
and he said
he was in one of those countries, and
he said,
we used to get our food from the
garbage somewhere
in in that place.
And he said
that they went to, the people who live
in that area, and maybe they sent them
letters or something, and they said, please don't
throw,
the diaper in the bag where you put
the food because this is where we ate
from. Right?
It is terrible, man. It's terrible.
And and and the the water we waste
all the time, there are people in some
places in Africa, they have droughts, and they
have famine, and they wait miles
and miles just to get, you you know,
some dirty water for their, you know, drinking
or cooking and stuff. There are there are
people in this world who are way less
fortunate than than us. So when you look
at them, the prophet said,
don't look at those who are more fortunate
than you are, look at those who are
less fortunate, and this would help you appreciate
the namil of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in
you.
And I think I gave before the, example
of,
Zainid ezidam, very famous, soccer player.
And, he said when he was young, he
used to whine all the time because his
parents
couldn't afford
a pair of riding shoes. So he was
whining all the time, he used to go
play in the streets
with no shoes,
and, and he used to whine all the
time. Like, everyone has a pair of nice
shoes,
why not me?
Why? So until one day he came across
a disabled kid his age who had no
legs. And now he started to appreciate it,
and he said, at least I have legs.
I felt sorry for the brother, but I
I I don't have legs.
And,
yeah. Speaking of, playing soccer,
barefooted, I remember when we were young, we
used to play, we used to go to
Al Azhar, you know,
half an hour or something before the class
starts,
and,
we'd,
play Ferghosh in the open court,
and it was very dusty, so we used
to play.
We didn't want the shoes to get dirty,
so we used to play bare footed.
And, I remember one time, I was about
to kick the ball. It was not a
ball actually, it was either an oil plastic
bottle,
or sometimes if we were lucky enough we'll
get a, like,
socks, and we'll fill them with clothes or
something, and this is what we did basically.
So I was about to hit the ball,
and for some reason I hit a concrete
pillar like this.
And this is why if I take off
my, my shoes you will see my fingers.
One set of fingers are like this, but
the other ones are like this because
I hit it so hard.
Anyway,
anyway,
those were the old days, and I remember
another accident,
so, I said, you know what? I don't
want to get injured,
I'm gonna put my shoes on. Okay, Carlos,
I don't want to injure my feet. So
that same day, that that's the next day,
a friend of mine or the other guy
he was kicking the ball,
and and I was trying to stop the
ball, I had my shoes on because I
didn't want to get injured,
and his shoe flew and it hit me
in the head and I had to go
to the doctor again maybe for stitches or
something. Right?
Maybe it it was written for me. So
the point is stop whining.
Second thing, blame everyone
for all your mistakes.
If you didn't do your homework, and you
come to school and they ask you, okay,
where is your homework?
Oh, my mom didn't make the food on
time, my dad came late, my brother,
Titanic,
this that.
Come on, man. What does it have to
do with anything?
Don't blame people.
Don't blame people, because this is what people
like to do.
They blame everyone
for their own mistakes, and this is why
they never succeed.
Because you always think you are perfect, everyone
around you
is is bad, and this is why you
you will never improve.
So if you drop,
like, your ball, you drop the food on
the floor, and they ask you, okay, why
did you drop it? Don't say, well, because
10 years ago you did this, you said
that.
Stop this blame game. Don't blame other people
for your mistakes.
Assume responsibility.
So what? I made a mistake, it filled
out Khabaz, end of story. And stop blaming
other people. And remember when you point the
finger towards someone and say they did it,
one finger is pointing toward them and 4
are pointing toward you. 1, 2, 3, 4.
So you have to bear responsibility
for your actions.
Debating and arguing. This is the last thing
in the last few seconds inshallah. Stop
arguing and debating,
about everything. Right?
Yes, sometimes you have to argue or make
a point,
but
sometimes
people just argue and debate
about nonsense.
Like if I I get a question, I
think I got a question one time,
Is water halal or haram?
I said, Well, if it is Sabiha, it
should be halal.
And the guy said, Why?
I said, Why what?
Why the water halal? And I said, Why
is it haram? He said, I don't know,
like, what is your proof? Proof for what?
Proof of water is Halal?
For Haram? I said, I didn't say it's
Haram. He said, Okay, what's your proof? I
said, Halal? Okay, what is the proof? Oh,
man, my God.
You know, don't debate and don't argue. If
you want to make a point, if there's
a valid reason to make a point, alhamdulillah.
But if there's no reason to argue and
debate, there's no point.
In the Quran, and this is the last
thing I want to say.
In the Quran, in the story of Adam
alayhi salaam when he was in Jannah,
and because of shaitan,
he made a mistake,
he was about to leave. So Adam alayhi
salaam made a mistake,
he didn't listen,
don't eat from the tree, he didn't listen,
and Shaytan also made a mistake because he
refused to make sajdah.
Why
Adam alaihis salam was forgiven and Shaytan was
not forgiven?
Why?
Yes.
Because shait
Adam alaihis salam said, You Allah, I made
a mistake. Forgive me. Thank you Jannah InshaAllah.
Shaitan said, well, I'm I'm better than him.
Why didn't you do this? Why did you
do that? And he is arguing with Allah.
Right?
So if you make a mistake, I made
a mistake, I'm sorry, I'll not do it
again, I'm I'm gonna do my best to
fix it, don't argue and debate. Right? So,
again these are the 3 recipes for failure.
Worry about everything,
blame everyone for your mistakes, and argue and
debate about everything. Right? If you want to
be successful you have to avoid these three
things. May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala make you
successful inshallah we see you tomorrow. Salaam Alaikum
wa Ta'ala.
