and every one of you that Allah azza wa jal accepts this digital gathering of hours, where he has
blessed us to tune in from different parts of the world. Yes, we are amidst chaos. We are amidst
turbulence in some parts of the world, including mine, the masajid are still closed. And, you know,
we we sincerely pray at this juncture that Allah subhanho wa Taala eases our affairs and that he
takes us back to normalcy soon. I mean, we are hearing we're reading
		

			about new variants of the virus spreading in different parts of the world. We pray that Allah, you
know, brings about a complete cure a complete healing and takes us all back to normalcy soon I mean
		

			so if your part of the world is in lockdown or if there are travel restrictions being, you know,
imposed, if they are in place, then do stay safe and you know,
		

			stay at home, most of us are still working from home, stay at home as much as possible. And
inshallah Let's hope that we can benefit through reminders of this nature. Now, having said all of
that, to you know, switch the switch of optimism and positivity. When when you look around you see
that Allah subhanho wa Taala has blessed us with seasons, seasons of goodness, seasons of
opportunity, and season after season he blesses us subhanho wa Taala season after season so we're
basically moving from one season of goodness to another season of goodness from one season of
opportunity to another season of opportunity. So Allah azza wa jal, he blessed us all with the month
		

			of Ramadan and he blessed us to experience the month of Ramadan to witness the month of Ramadan and
we sincerely pray that Eliza Virgil blesses us with good health and productive long lives to attain
many more Ramadan in the future. I mean,
		

			so Ramadan visited as a beautiful and blessed guest and Ramadan has passed. Now we are headed
towards another season
		

			within the month of April hedger with just a few days away from the month of the hedger and this
particular month, the season of the hijab, it is a beautiful season of opportunity, a beautiful
season of goodness. Allah subhanho wa Taala he has taken he has taken an oath on the season.
		

			On the on the special days captured within this season, known as the 10 days of the hijjah Allah
subhanho wa Taala he says in the Noble Quran in surah fetcher well, while I yeah Lina Asha. So Allah
azza wa jal he,
		

			he promises he takes an oath upon the 10 nights of the hedger, even adverse rhodiola one, he makes
Tafseer of this idea and it is in the tafsir of Hema matabele Rahim Allah, that indeed the 10 nights
by which Allah subhanho wa Taala swore an oath are the first 10 nights of Bill hijjah. So while I

these 10 days that we are headed towards signifies the importance of these 10 days, the importance
of the season that he is blessing us with.
		

			It's an indication that we have to strive to make the most out of these 10 nights of the hijama
Allah subhanho wa Taala help us all to do so.

			now we have many narrations, many brothers and sisters in Islam that talks about the virtue of these
days. And the whole point of discussing all of this is in a move to, you know, help us prepare.
Because see with the month of Ramadan, you're supposed to prepare for the month of Ramadan prior to
the month of Ramadan coming about emotionally, spiritually physically, you prepare yourself to make
the most out of the month of Ramadan. Similarly, now that you have the 10 days of the hedger
approaching, you prepare yourself emotionally, spiritually and physically to make the most out of
these 10 days of the hedger. So yes, we are a few days away from the 10 days of their hedger in a
		

			move to prepare ourselves in a move to educate ourselves. That's why we're discussing all of this
we're looking at the guidelines that have been established by the messenger sallallahu alayhi
wasallam to help us prepare for these special 10 days.
		

			So even I basadi Allah one, he is reported to have said that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu
alayhi wa alayhi wa sallam said
		

			that no good deeds are better than the good deeds that are done during the 10 days of the hedger. No
good deeds are better than the deeds that are done during the 10 days of the hedger. So look at this
hadith many brothers and sisters in Islam and if you were to pause, and observe carefully, even a
Hazara last Kalani Rahim, Allah He says that during these 10 days of the hedger Jimmy, Omaha to a
Bada, that the most important acts of worship have all been combined during these 10 days of the
hedger unlike any other period during the year, you have these very important these integral acts of
worship that have been incorporated during these 10 days of the hedger. What are these acts of
		

			worship? You have Salah you have siyam so you have prayer, you have fasting, you have Hajj and you
have sadaqa. These integral acts of worship have all been incorporated within the 10 days of the
hijab. You see what's interesting is that you see even during the month of Ramadan, you have Salah,
you have fasting, and you have sadaqa taking place, but there is no way to integrate Hajj during the
month of Ramadan. Why because Hajj is specific to the season of Hajj, but these 10 days of the
hedger incorporate and include Hajj in them as well. And that's why these days are so powerful. You
have all these powerful deeds taking place during these 10 days of the hijjah. You have Salah
		

			obviously because you're you you don't I mean throughout the year it is a season of Salah, no doubt
about that. Say I'm fasting it varies right so but then then during these 10 days you will see that
it is highly recommended it is from the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu Sallam to fast
during the 10 days of the hijjah. There are guidelines with regards to fasting like for example, you
can't fast on the 10th day of the ledger. So we're talking about from day one to day nine, it is
recommended to fast and at the very least you're supposed to fast on the day of alpha, if you are so
we'll talk about it in detail inshallah as we get into the part about fasting. Now with regards to
		

			Salah, we know how important Salah is it is this divine link that is established between us and
Allah subhanho wa Taala and my dear brothers and sisters in Islam, it is something that we have to
constantly keep working on in terms of our who sure in terms of our whole door in terms of our
concentration in terms of our discipline, our focus our levels of spirituality, the inner dimensions
of Salah This is something that will constantly keep working on your own. So during these 10 days
it's a beautiful season to seize this opportunity to work on our Salah to ensure that we prayed on
time to try and offer it in congregation if if in your areas if the you know massage it allows you
		

			to do so I mean if if the situation is not too bad, but otherwise even with your family members you
can look at offering the Salah in congregation right so because there's more virtue attached to
Salah in congregation. Having said that, you have fasting so with regards to fasting Now
interestingly, we have
		

			one narration from Allah the eyeshadow the Allah one however she is reported to have said that
		

			the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam she basically says model eight Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam saw him and Phil actually caught. She says I've never seen the Messenger of Allah
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam fasting during the
		

			10 days of the hijab. And along with that, we have other Hadeeth. Now for example, the one that I
mentioned is in the book of a Muslim Rahim Allah. Allah one has Hadith. And then you have other
authentic hadith in the book of Allah Buddha with Rahim Allah, some of the wives of the Prophet

			I'm about to have said that he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would fast the first nine days of the
hijab, he would fast the day of Ashura, and he would also fast three days of every month. So now
based on this Hadith, and the earlier one, you might think and some of you might have you ever come
across these narrations and a question could arise as to whether there is a contradiction between
these two ahaadeeth. And how are we to reconcile these two a hadith on one hand, you have eyeshadow,
the loved one has saying that she never saw the Messenger of Allah sallallahu Sallam fasting during
the 10 days of the hijab. Along with that you have the other wives of the Prophet sallallahu Sallam
		

			saying that he would fast the first nine days of the hijab. Now You See, the thing is, the scholars
of Hadith and the scholars of school they go on to commend. For example, the mama nawawi Rahim Allah
He says,
		

			that I share with your loved one how not seeing the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam fast during
these days, that does not necessitate that he never fasted them at all. So basically, this
illustrates the beauty and the flexibility of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
always striving to strike a balance from this one way to reconcile these Heidi these two narrations
is that it is it is a recommended Suna and there is no harm in not fasting some of the days. So
perhaps the days that I share the Allah one has encountered the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
those were days in between where she did not see the Prophet sallallahu Sallam fasting, whilst the
		

			other wives encountered the Prophet sallallahu Sallam during these 10 days, the first nine days
where he was fasting and so they arrived at the conclusion that he was fasting and generally we have
a principle that we follow that almost a bit more Adam Ireland nafi for those of you who are
familiar with this principle, let me explain very quickly that the affirming statement is generally
given more priority given more preference over that negating statement because the the the the
academics behind it or the reasoning behind it is that the one who is affirming generally has more
knowledge in regards to that matter, okay, that particular matter than the one negating it. So
		

			therefore, the the affirming statement is given more priority when you have two statements, the one
that is affirming is generally given more priority or given more preference over the negating
statement. So in this we have two narrations where one narration affirms the practice of the Prophet
was the other negates it so at this juncture, we would give priority to the one affirming the
practice of the Prophet sallallahu Sallam and along with that, a very beautiful way to reconcile is
that it is permissible, it is flexible, where you you know, if you wish to leave some of the days of
the fasting, you may do so and you may fast some of the days you know, and involve yourself I mean,
		

			the days that you are not fasting you can involve yourself in other acts of worship, like reading of
the Quran, like remembering Allah subhanho, wa Taala and sadaqa and so on and so forth. So, now with
regards to the day of our fact,
		

			that here we have many narrations where the Prophet sallallahu Sallam for example, the Hadith is in
Muslim, a man comes to the Prophet sallallahu Sallam and he says they are a sort of law. What is
your view about fasting on the day of arafa the Prophet sallallahu Sallam his report tribe said I
consider it with regards to Allah that it expiate the sins of the previous and the upcoming years.
Subhana Allah, do we not need this many brothers and sisters in Islam, we are perpetual sinners, we
constantly keep making mistakes. So by by fasting on this powerful day, many brothers and sisters in
Islam
		

			what happens is we secure the forgiveness of Allah azza wa jal in another Hadith, the Messenger of
Allah said I listen to his report, perhaps a jab or the Allah one who he makes mentioned. The
Prophet sallallahu Sallam is reputed to have said, No bet no day is better to Allah than the day of
alpha. This is the ninth of the ledger. Allah descends to the lowest heaven and he boasts to the
inhabitants of the heavens about the inhabitants of the earth, saying, Look at my servants, they
have appeared disheveled and and dusty. They came from every mountain pass, hoping for my mercy.
They do not see my punishment yet they do not see that on the day on do not see that on no day are
		

			more saved from the Hellfire than the day of arafah. So the day of arafah many are saved from the
fire of jahannam and Allah azza wa jal boasts about the pilgrims gathered on the day of RFI, it's an
extremely powerful date. as per this Hadith of the Prophet sallallahu Sallam he tells us a lot comes
to the lowest Allah descends to the lowest heaven and he boasts about the pilgrims on the day of
arafah. So on the ninth of the head, geomedia brothers and sisters in Islam, it is a day where we
are supposed to be in worship remembering Allah subhanho wa Taala and doing as many many good
		

			dedes as as possible, we sincerely pray that Allah subhanho wa Taala helps us all to do so. I mean,
so now along with that you have Sadiq Khan, I was just talking we spoke about Salah, we spoke about
fasting, okay, and then you have Hajj, obviously, you know, for those
		

			who are on Hajj, you know of the virtues of hedge. But this time due to the fact that we are in the
midst of so much of chaos due to the pandemic, there have been very tight restrictions, very tight
regulations that have been brought into place, we once again pray that Allah subhanho wa Taala eases
things for us and that he invites us back to his beautiful house soon. I mean, so I mean, the
discussion for Hajj perhaps another day in sha Allah. Now moving on to South Africa, these 10 days,
my dear brothers and sisters in Islam, we have to try and involve ourselves in as much sadaqa as
possible and their need is immense. Due to the chaos due to the pandemic, there are so many people,
		

			so many vulnerable individuals, vulnerable families, living you know, bordering Subhanallah on
poverty and they're, you know, they're in this very difficult and desperate situation. So it is a
time if Allah Subhana Allah has blessed you, you must fulfill your responsibility of that blessing
by helping those in need. So throughout the 10 days of del hijjah, you must strive to do as much
sadaqa as interest strive to do as many good deeds as possible strive to give out as much sadhaka as
possible. And along with that, you have a very important act of charity that is highlighted during
these 10 days of the hedger and that is the the sooner of all the hey, yeah. Now hold here My dear
		

			brothers and sisters in Islam is one of the great rituals of our Deen. It is from the Sunnah of the
Prophet salallahu alayhi wa early he was lm it is from the Sunnah of the Great Prophet Ibrahim
alayhi salatu was Salam Alaikum wa jal mentions in the Koran facade Lily Arabica 100 there is a talk

			There is a difference of opinion amidst the scholars where some scholars deem it to be obligatory
upon the one who is able to give it out and the others deem it to be an emphasized Sunnah of the

are there are there are scholars who would opine that the best form of code here is to sacrifice a
camel, then there are those who would say after the camel than it is cattle, so it's
		

			first camels then cattle, then sheep or you know goats. So, you have this order of preference. So,
you know, it depends on where you live and what you can give. So, if you are in a position to give
out a camel, then that would be the best form of code here to give out a camel. If not, you may give
it in the form of cattle, otherwise, you may give it in the form of sheep or goats along with that a
camel or a or cattle can be, you know, shared across seven people because we have a Hadith of the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that says that you know, a camel or a cow can be shared across
seven individuals and 1/7 of it can be given by the person who is supposed to give out. So, ideally,
		

			now, this is the thing just because this permission is in place, we should not fall back on to the
bare minimum, you see. So, in terms of an investment in terms of feeding the poor feeding the
hungry, in terms of fulfilling this act of worship, if you are able to give out an entire animal
then by all means, you must strive to do so, if you can give out to them by all means you must
strive to do so, if you can give out three then by all means you must strive to do so, the bare
minimum because Think of it this way when it comes to matters of the dunya Do you do we generally
settle for the bare minimum? I mean yes, I mean if that's all that you can afford, then by all means
		

			the deen is extremely flexible, you understand? So if that is all that you can afford, then well and
good. But do we settle for the bare minimum when it comes to dunya? No, we always strive for the
best if you can afford the best you want to afford the best when it comes to dunya there was about
an aha but about good days Why are we settling for the bare minimum. So basically what we have to
understand is it depends on your capability, if it is the bare minimum that you can afford, then
that is something that you fall back on to but otherwise you must strive to give out that which is
the best for the sake of Allah for the for the pleasure of Allah subhanho wa Taala. So like we were
		

			saying there are some scholars like for example, if I'm not mistaken one opinion from Mr. Mohammed
Rahim Allah and certain other scholars as well that it is oblique

Himalayan is also one opinion from the School of Mr. Mohammed Rahim Allah that confirm it to be a

we learned that whoever amongst us wants to offer a sacrifice we should not take anything from from
		

			our hair or our nails from the time the moon inside or from the festival hedger until your
sacrifices given you're not supposed to remove any hair or nails. And along with that, there are
conditions of both here as well. So, we will discuss all of this in detail on another day. inshallah
closer you know, as we progress into the 10 days of the hijab, we'll talk about the virtues as well.

powerful season that we are headed towards a so many good deeds to be performed during these
powerful days in sha Allah so perhaps in the upcoming sermons, we'll try to go into more detail into
		

			each of these aspects be in a light Allah. Along with that I'd like to you know, share with our
