As-salāmu alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh, al
-ḥamdu liLlāhi wa-s-salātu wa-s-salāmu
ʿalá nabiyyihī wa-mustafā'i wa-baʿd Today,
in shā'a Llāh, we're going to live
with another beautiful name of the most beautiful
names of the Almighty Allāh.
That name is al-mu'min.
And al-mu'min means the bestower of faith.
We're all aware that the term mu'min in
Arabic means a believer and a faithful person.
And for feminine, mu'minah.
But al-mu'min is one of the names
of the Almighty Allāh which means the bestower
of faith.
He's the one who guides, he's the one
who bestows faith, belief and guidance on whomever
he wills.
And it was mentioned only once in the
glorious Qur'ān.
Obviously, in ayah number 23, chapter number 59,
surah al-Ḥashr, in which the Almighty Allāh
says So
the word al-mu'min means the bestower of
faith.
It is indeed Allāh who is none has
the right to be worshipped other than Him.
Al-mālik, the sovereign.
Al-quddūs, the pure and the holy.
As-salām, the source of peace and security
and the one who's free from any imperfection.
Al-mu'min, the bestower of faith and guidance.
Al-muhaymin, the overseer.
Al-'azīz, the Almighty.
Al-jabbar, the compeller.
Al-mutakabbir, the superior.
Subḥāna Allāhi ʿamma shurikūn, exalted is Allāh above
whatever they associate with Him.
So al-mu'min is derived from two words
in Arabic.
One of whom is al-īmān, which is
faith, and the other is al-amn, which
is security.
So when you look at Allāh's name, al
-mu'min, as it is derived from al-īmān,
then he is al-musaddiqu lilmu'minīn, the verifier
of the truth of the faith of the
believers and the one who fulfills his promises
all the time.
And who is more true in
his promise than the Almighty Allāh.
So we say in surah al-Imran, ayah
Say indeed, Allāh
has spoken the truth.
And the believers on the Battle of the
Trench, they said, هَذَا مَا وَعَدَنَا اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُ
This is what Allāh and
His Messenger have promised us and indeed Allāh
and His Messenger have fulfilled their promise and
have spoken the truth, the verifier of the
truth of the faithful.
In the sound ḥadīth, Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ has
الله, none have the right to be worshipped
but Allāh and Allāh is the greatest, Allāh
the Almighty will say, yes indeed, my servant
has spoken the truth and he will say,
indeed there is no god nor deity other
than me وَأَنَا أَكْبَرٌ and I am the
greatest, that is in the ḥadīth.
Whenever Ahlul Jannah will enter paradise, will say,
الحمد لله الذي صدقنا وعده they will say,
praises and thanks be to Allāh who have
fulfilled His promise and spoken the truth and
fulfilled His promise.
And also Allāh the Almighty says in surah
Al-Imran ayah number 18,
And
this powerful ayah means, Allāh the Almighty bears
witness that there is no deity, nor God
worthy of worship but Him.
And also the angels testify to this fact.
Indeed, He is the Almighty, the All
-Wise.
So whenever a believer or a messenger delivers
his message, he is delivering what Allāh the
Almighty has confirmed, acknowledged, and verified as the
truth.
Also it means that the Almighty Allah shall
guide his servants through showing them the signs
which are basically enough for them to be
rightly guided to the Lordship and to the
oneness of the Creator.
He said in surah Fussilat in ayah number
And that means the
Almighty Allah says we shall show them our
signs in the universe and within themselves till
it has become to them clearly that that
is the ultimate truth.
Allah is the only one who is worthy
of worship.
Then the Almighty Allah says
Isn't it enough
that your Lord is bearing witness and is
a witness over all things?
Yes indeed.
So when we say
وَعْدِهِ رُسُولَهُ that confirms Allah the Almighty is
also الصادق المصدق that he fulfills all his
promises and don't you think that Allah will
ever break any of his promise.
Indeed Allah does
not break a promise.
And finally the other root word which is
from الأمن we say المؤمن is a name
or a word which is derived from two
Arabic root words.
One which is الإيمان faith or belief and
the second which is الأمن which means security.
There we find in surah Quraysh Allah the
Almighty says
It is Allah who fed them after
hunger and it is Allah who granted them
أمن آمَنَهُمْ gave them security after fear and
he says about those who love him and
they become his servants and he becomes their
Surah Yunus ayah number 62
indeed أَوْلِيَاءُ اللَّهِ Those who are being loved
by Allah and Allah helps and supports there
should not be any fear upon them nor
should they grieve.
And in Surah Al-An'am Allah Almighty
Those who truly believed
in Allah and they did not confuse nor
mix their Iman with any injustice or an
act of associating partners to Allah in worship
are those who will be eligible for Al
-Amn security on the Day of Judgment
هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ which means they will be safe
and secure and they will not experience any
grief or any fear may Allah make us
among them from all of that brothers and
sisters the fruit of believing in the name
of Allah and Mu'min we learned that one
should be a source of security for others
as well النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم said
وَاللَّهِ لَيُؤْمِنُ وَاللَّهِ لَيُؤْمِنُ and he repeated the
oath I swear to Allah such person will
not be a believer they said whom he
neighbor does not feel safe and secure against
وَيَدِهِ a believer a true Muslim is the
one whom the rest of Muslims feel safe
and secure around him he feels safe from
the harm of his hand and power and
from the harm of his tongue and ill
speech like biting etc also brothers and sisters
a believer should benefit from the name of
Allah and mu'min by becoming truthful all the
time sadiq and fulfilling all his promises in
order to be a true believer who believes
in the name of Allah and mu'min may
the almighty Allah guide us towards this
