Mufti Menk – Ramadan 2017 – Save Yourself – Part 2 – Episode 25

			Salam aleikum wa rahmatullah wa barakato.
		

			Bismillah al Rahman al Rahim al hamdu lillahi wa Salatu was Salam ala rasulillah Allah Allah He was
happy to hear. All praise is indeed due to Allah subhanho wa Taala blessings and salutations upon
Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, his household his companions May Allah subhanahu wa taala
bless them. May He bless every one of us and grant us forgiveness in this beautiful eve of Ramadan.
May Allah subhanho wa Taala grant us from his mercy. May Allah have mercy upon us, our offspring,
our family members, our friends, our relatives, the oma at large and May Allah Subhana Allah Allah
have mercy on humanity. I mean, my beloved brothers and sisters in Islam, we know that
		

			life on Earth does not last forever. Allah subhanho wa Taala creates us in a position of weakness
where we are weak, and thereafter he gives us strength. And after that strength, he makes us weak
once again, and Allah subhanho wa Taala gives us the perfect example of the life on earth. And in
Surah, Al Hadid which is Surah number 57 of the Quran verse number 20, Allah subhanho wa Taala tells
us, yeah, llamo manhyia to dunya Allah, Allah who was enough

			the life of this dunya then he gives us five points about the life of the dunya What are these five

Secondly, it is amusement. So when we say play my beloved brothers and sisters, what we need to
understand, when a child is little, the child is happy with something that makes the child play. It
plays with a sound rattle, for example, at that stage, it is called live live meaning to play. So if
you have a small baby, the little baby does not need a sophisticated toy of amusement. What it means
is something to play with something to occupy it to distract it at that juncture is it is the
		

			beginning of the life of this baby. When the child grows a little bit more, it no longer is
satisfied with a little rattle or something that is just mechanical. It now needs something more
complicated. Our children need fidget spinners don't they May Allah forgive us. Our children need
for example, a little phone a gadget from an early age they start crying for a car, no longer the
car that you push, but the car that you press the buttons and it moves the remote control. So the
children become a little bit more sophisticated. In the Arabic language the term low is more
sophisticated than the term lab. Lab means to play and law who is more of amusement it is slightly
		

			deeper, it is a little bit more of a different nature, sophisticated nature of play. So Allah says,
The life on earth is like this, it starts off with play, then it gets to amusement life, well, then,
when the child becomes teenage, they become conscious of themselves, a small pimple on the face and
they want to cover it, they want to block it they they don't want to leave the home because you know
what? Look at this, look at what it looks like. I don't like my nose and I don't like my eyes and my
ears. That's normal at the age of 15 1617 Subhanallah you start becoming conscious of your teeth and

			And at a certain point, you know that when you have a farm, and you see the crop, what is the
condition of the crop at the various stages? Number one, it's a seed, you sow it. After that it's a
seedling as it's growing. You see if you're happy to see green and strong, and thereafter the rains
come you're excited to see how how the crop is beautiful. And it gets to a point where if you do not
have a seat at that juncture, you're going to lose the crop. You need to know when to harvest at a
certain point, you pluck it and it's gone. Subhan Allah, The same applies to our lives. My beloved

			Allah, Allah Masha Allah referring to the dispute that occurred at the time of the Prophet
sallallahu wasallam between a certain lady, her husband on one hand and her complaint to Muhammad
sallallahu alayhi wasallam on the other. So she came to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam and
she said, You know, my husband, he has actually equated me to his own mother and he doesn't touch me
and so on. I was young I bow his children and a long story. As a result of it Subhanallah she

			Now before I say what these verses are in brief, I want to take you to reality in our lives. My

			Sometimes the wife in the home is being oppressed to the degree that she is swan. She's physically

Allah. Allah listens to her.
		

			Sometimes it is the child in a home, we are so bad to them because you have, for example, a child
who may not exactly be yours, maybe a stepchild, maybe a child of whoever else is there in the
equation and you treat them badly unfairly. Sometimes our own children because they are dark in
complexion and the others are fair, we treat them like they're an outcast. We're lucky. I know of
examples of children who have emailed me telling me that my mother tells me the rest of the children
will walk with us in the mall, but you walk behind just because I'm docking complex. While law is

Allah has blessed you bestowed upon you. These are the gifts of Allah upon you. Remember, if you

this woman was helpless. Her husband refused to be intimate with her husband refused to fulfill her

			And so she complained to Allah subhanho wa Taala and Allah subhanho wa Taala says the first verse

			relationships in your homes, improve your relationships with those whom you live with, and by the

because everyone looks at Muslims with an eye of suspicion, right? But you and I know that Islam is
not guilty of what the people are guilty of sometimes. But to become a Muslim in these days in this
day and age. It's really a sign of genuineness, because you are sacrificing a lot for the sake of
Allah subhanho wa Taala Allah says

			something, they are not stingy and miserly, they are quick to share it. Allah says what you think

It's okay if it was burnt with the iron. It's your perfume. It's okay if the bottle dropping dropped
in cracks. It is a piece of cutlery. It's okay if someone broke it in the home. No problem.
SubhanAllah they did not do it intentionally. But when your heart is connected to materialistic
items, you become so angry when something goes wrong. materialistically yet it was a test from
		

			Allah. Allah knew it was going to happen before you were born. He knew it was placed in your life in
order to test you may Allah subhanahu wa taala help us to pass our tests. Well law he my brothers
and sisters, I've said this before I repeat it. Allah has given us our basic necessity all of us but
beyond that basic necessity is what we are fighting for at the moment. May Allah subhanho wa Taala
make us grateful. This is why Allah calls these people
		

			People highly successful because they were sharing that which they needed themselves with their
brothers who had come from afar. And Allah subhanho wa Taala bless them all around the Allahu anhu.
May Allah be pleased with all of those companions. They were our heroes. They were the ones who had
Allah. Then Allah subhanho wa Taala makes mention of something really, really beautiful. A warning
for all of us about the devil. You see what the devil does, he lights a match. He starts the flame,
he walks away. So the inferno is now catching Subhanallah everything is being bent. We need to be
careful, recognize the devil. Allah says, watch out, the devil starts a problem walks away, then he

			so my brothers and sisters, these are some of the beautiful verses of the Quran. And this is how we
will be able to save ourselves from problems difficulties. Like I said, when you get too close to
someone that you start telling them all your secrets one day, you may pay a heavy price for that may
Allah grant us all wisdom in our relationships. And when you dislike someone, be careful, you don't
have to hurt them in a way that you will regret one day when you want to make amends. May Allah
