Summer.
We start off by praising Allah,
the one who is worthy of all of
our praise and our gratitude is Allah,
who is with us during our good times
and who is with us during our difficult
times.
Is Allah
who answered our calls whenever we call on
to him.
We then send peace and blessing upon the
prophet, salallahu alayhi wa sallam, the one that
was sent as a mercy to the worlds
and to teach us not only how to
worship Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, but how to
deal with our emotions and interact with one
another. Umabah
thereafter.
If we look at this life,
dunya,
the world, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in the
Quran talks talks about it, and he
says,
He summarizes
our life in this one verse saying that
you will go through different stages in your
life,
but the common theme that you will see
in every stage, there will be
a certain level of anxiety and stress,
worries,
difficulties,
trials, tribulations.
Things
usually
will not be easy.
Very famous to these prophet is how
unique is a matter of a believer that
if
things are good for him, then he
is thankful to Allah
and he enjoys the blessing Allah has given
him. But when things are tough
and this person is patient and
he follows the teaching of
the prophet how
has taught us how to interact and deal
during difficult times that
Allah rewards this person.
And for this, we look at the life
of the prophet
and what we see is Rasulullah
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam's life.
Majority of the time, the Prophet
life was full of worries and stress and
anxiety.
Very few moments in life of the prophet
was there something was there not was the
absence of something that he didn't have to
worry about?
From
the childhood of the prophet
until the time
passed away,
To the fact that
in the 9th year, Allah subhanahu reveals the
verses, okay. Now,
that after so many years, in 9th year
of Hijra,
shortly before the prophet
passed away, it was Allah says, now people
have entered in Islam,
you can praise Allah, you can glorify him,
and ask Allah
for forgiveness. But before then,
there was worries, difficulties,
and this started,
like I said, from his childhood. But when
the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam received revelation,
shortly after the first few
moments of revelation,
a time came where revelation was paused,
and
questions became
starting to come up.
The prophet
he
may have thought that maybe Allah, Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala, is displeased with me.
Jibray
used to come down, but
every night, was
waiting. In the daytime, the prophet
is waiting. And
the peep the historians say that this period
of of
pause in Revelation, it lasted for months,
roughly 6 months.
There was no revelation.
And people started to mock and make fun
of the Prophet and
questions
They started to question Islam.
Some of them started to say that, well,
where is your Allah now?
To the point that Abu Lahab's wife, Umajameel,
she comes to Rassallahu
alaihi wa sallam. She says to the prophet
that your shaitan has left you.
That's why you're not receiving Quran like you
used to.
But after this pause, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
reveals
a very powerful verse.
A Surah that speaks to us in times
like this.
Because
those same questions
that where is Allah
and the same mockery that why is your
lord allowing this to happen if Allah
will be Middaliq
people say that. If Allah if you're following
the right religion, how come this is happening
to your
Muslims? Allah reveals the verses
of and this surah can be broken down
to 4 different parts.
The first two first two ayats Allah talks
about an oath.
And the oath that he gives,
he says,
by the
oath of daybreak,
things may seem dark in your life.
You may be surrounded by difficulties.
In your life, there may be hardships and
trials.
And when it happens, they all come at
once.
Like we say, misery loves company.
You may be tested in your wealth. You
may be tested in your health. You may
ask yourself so many questions that why is
this happening to me, that I
try to be a good Muslim and I
try to practice my deen. Why is it
that I can never catch a break?
Allah subhanahu wa'am tells us,
by the oath of when the sun comes
out, that the darkness that you see around
you, it won't last.
The sun will come out.
Once these hardships leave, then Allah subhanahu wa'anhu
does give good days.
But in the second verse, immediately Allah subhanahu
wa'anhu says,
but those good times,
they're not meant to last.
The night will come. And when the night
comes,
when it becomes extremely dark,
These are days that we flip. Some days
you will have good days, and other days
you will have bad days.
Some days the situation of the Muslim ummah
may be good, but then, of course, we
have those days where the Muslim ummah is
bleeding out.
And then Allah subhanahu wa'am reveals the next
set of verses,
Where you might think that it's been 2
it's been over 2 months.
Where is the help of Allah
Understand that
Allah
has not forgotten you,
and neither has
Allah displeased with you. So here, where they
were making fun of the prophet, sallallahu alaihi
wa sallam, the, oh, Muhammad, your Lord has
forgotten you and he may be displeased with
you, Allah
is saying, no.
Before we get it?
And the answer to that is,
Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, is creating
this sense of desperation.
Imagine if you got what you wanted immediately
every time you asked for
it. That would create a sense of entitlement
within you. If every time my child said
to me, Abba, I want candy, and I
gave him candy. And every time he said,
Abba, I want a toy, and I gave
him a toy. And every time he said,
I want new clothes, and I want new
shoes, and I gave immediately,
that would create a sense of
entitlement.
And we would say this child would solely
solely become a brat,
be spoiled.
So Allah
is creating that sense of desperation. Oh, Allah.
I really need this now.
And we spoke about this couple weeks ago
that our duas are accepted by the timing
of Allah
not on our time because Allah is alakim.
And we put our trust in in
the timing of Allah
what we need
when he wants,
not when we want.
So Allah here he says,
What you're going through right now,
yes, it's a tough situation.
Financially,
you're in a tough spot.
Things at home are not working out
with your spouse, with your children,
but
but what's going to come that's gonna be
better for you.
What's happening to the Muslim Ummah at this
moment,
what's going to come, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
will make that better.
And when Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
gives, he may not give you what you
want,
but he will give to you
what's best for you. And he will give
to you in a way
that you will be pleased.
And the answer to that, to understand that
fully,
is that our solution,
the dua that I make, the solution that
I want,
it may not be optimal. It may not
be the best solution.
And that's why I put my trust in
Allah
that Allah
solution
will be best. So here was
is being told that look,
right now you may have a few
handful of believers.
Things will be are tough right now.
Bilal is being dragged through the streets of
Mecca.
Ahmad Binyasid and his family are being tortured.
Chabab bin Aret is may being made to
lay on a bed of coal,
but
good times will come.
Victory will come.
Peace and tranquility
will come.
In our life, the situation is the same.
Right now difficulty is there, but then with
the passing of this difficulty, good times will
come. And if a person says that,
well, when is this good time come for
me? We understand that
for a believer,
what waits for this believer is the akhirah.
Allah subhanallah in another place tells us that
what's best for you
is with Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala and that
is forever lasting.
The good times in this dunya, they come
and go,
but the good times in in the hereafter,
again, they remain.
Then Allah
shifts
the narrative
a
little bit. Did Allah
not find you in a situation
a yateem is a very unique situation.
A yateem
is
a person that has nobody to put their
hand over their head.
Nobody to support them.
People watch
the struggles of a orphan
and do nothing.
And
it's ironic,
but the situation of our brothers and sisters
right now is just like Yateen,
where Muslim countries are watching with popcorn,
but they have nothing to
do. There's no support.
But here, Allah is telling the prophet
did I not find you as an orphan,
and then I gave you support?
And this makes us think that if Allah
gave the prophet
support at that time, and took a yateem
and raised
and supported
this orphan
to such a status,
then the orphans of our
society today,
our brothers and sisters in Palestine,
who have no support, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
is there for them.
Then Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says,
they'll not find you in a state where
you were misguided.
The prophet salallahu alaihi wasallam,
he's going to the cave
of
hira'a and spending
days
and sometimes months
in seclusion
trying to find guidance.
Allah subhanahu wa'ala said, we took you from
that position and we guided you. In 1
hadith al Qudsi, Allah
says, oh, my servant.
Each of you is misguided,
except for the person who I guide.
So ask me for guidance so that I
can guide you.
And we ask ourselves this question
often nowadays.
That what are we supposed to do?
It's been over 2 months and we're out
of answers.
And Allah is telling us,
ask me for guidance
so that I can guide you.
Then Allah
says to rasoolallahu
alaihi wa sallam, that I found you in
a situation
that you were needy.
And I fulfilled your needs.
In that same hadith al Qudsiya Allah subhanahu
wa'ala says,
Oh my servants,
each of you
Each of you is hungry, except for the
person who I feed. So ask me for
food and I will feed you. He says,
oh
my servants, each of you is without clothes
except for the person who I close.
So ask me, and I will close you.
And the reason why Allah mentions these two
things in this hadith in this hadith al
qudsi, food and clothes, because these these two
things are your basic needs.
And Allah subhanahu wa'ala is telling us that,
you can't even fulfill your basic needs,
except with my help.
So ask me.
Here Allah subhanahu wa'ala is reminding the prophet
that
many times what happens is that we ask
Allah
for more.
And we
our focus becomes on the more, and we
lose track of what's already there.
The unique thing
about human beings
is the moment that
we ask for more, we find faults in
what we have.
Today, you ask Allah subhanahu wa'ala, oh, Allah,
help me buy a house. But the moment
you buy a house,
you begin to complain about the house.
Today you ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, oh
Allah, please give me a child. Do not
leave me without a child. And the moment
you have children, you begin to complain about
children.
You ask Allah, oh Allah, give me a
job, but then the moment you get a
job, you can't wait till the weekend and
get out of there.
And this is where Allah is telling the
prophet
look at your situation.
Where were you?
Was Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala not there for
you?
Did Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala not
support you?
Did he not guide you? Did he not
fulfill all your needs?
And the reality is,
the Muslim Ummah,
where we are today,
we've been here before.
We've been here before many times.
Not just
in the past
100 or 200 years, but
Allah
brings examples like this in the Quran.
Where there were tyrants,
the oppressed
muslims.
The oppressed believers. The
oppressed people who had trust in Allah
that believed in Allah
but then Allah
came
with his power.
Do you forget?
Have you not seen how Allah dealt with
the people of the elephants?
This
this Surah right here,
it fits into our situation
so amazingly.
Because
they came with this plan and plot that
we're gonna do this to the people of
Palestine, but what ends up happening is
Allah takes their plan and turns it against
them.
People are coming to the masjid
after
this genocide has started.
The amount of people that come to the
Muslim and said, I wanna know more about
this religion.
What's happening? How do they have that strength?
How is it that they can go through
this, but their their faith, their belief
is so strong?
They're not even willing to take off a
scarf.
The kifaya, they're not even willing to put
that down. Their trust in Allah is not
shaking.
Allah
tells us that didn't Allah take their plans
and turn it against them?
Well, and
when Allah
sends his birds,
then you will see them
left like hay that has already been eaten
from.
But Allah carries on in and
he says,
when Allah helps
when his help comes,
remember to channel
your energy and give back.
This is a direct order for us.
As we look at our brother and sisters
in Palestine, Allah subhanahu wa'am is telling us,
don't forget about the yateem.
A man comes to
says,
my heart
is hard.
I it's I can't make it soft.
I'm desensitized.
I scroll on Instagram
and I see a post and I Same
pallet. Same thing again. Same thing again.
My heart has become hard and I'm desensitized.
It's not getting soft. And Rasulullah
salallahu alaihi wa sallam tells him two things.
Go and find a yateem
and run your hand over his head.
To the point that prophet
doesn't say support or, you know, financially
provide for this yateem. Why? Because you may
not even have the financial needs. Just run
your hand over your head.
Over the head of the jadeem.
And then the prophet
says, go and find somebody that's in need.
Go and find somebody that's poor
and feed them.
Then
Allah the next verse says, every time somebody
comes to you
and asks you,
don't send them back empty handed.
Because understand that Allah
does not send you back empty handed.
You raise your hand to Allah multiple times
a day
in moments of desperation.
But imagine if the way that we send
somebody back empty handed, if Allah subhanahu wa'ala
were to send us back empty handed as
well.
And when Hadith
tells us that Allah
is in your service
as long as you are in the servants
in the service of the servants of Allah
Another hadith
says,
the best of people
is the one that's good to people.
Our society teaches it's all about me,
my phone,
my laptop,
my car,
my house,
my children,
my family,
my career,
my job,
my bank balance.
Everything is about me. And here Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala is saying, it's not about you.
It's actually about a community.
And that's why every time
somebody comes asking, don't turn them away.
Well,
Allah finishes off this Surah by saying,
as for the favors of Allah
remember them.
Talk about them.
Acknowledge
all the favors that Allah has upon us.
In one verse, Allah says,
It's not possible.
If you try to count all the favors
of Allah
you can't do it.
And in this Surah Surah Duha, which is
just 11 verses, the first 2 ayats Allah
Subhanahu wa Ta'ala talk takes an oath, explaining
the coming and going of hardships
and good times.
Then the next 3 verses Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala talks about, that sometimes, spiritually,
you feel hopeless.
Remember Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is there with
you.
Then the next 3 verses Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala talks about that as a society,
as a community,
sometimes
there's depression.
In the final three verses, 11 verses, in
the final three verses Allah
talks about taking this energy
and channeling it towards giving back to the
community.
One of the unique qualities of Rasulullah
is the prophet
genuinely
felt the pain that other people went through.
Through. And this is why rasulullah
salallahu alaihi wa sallam,
he was never okay with people being isolated.
Whenever there was somebody that came in, rasulullah
salallahu alaihi wa sallam made them feel
as a part of everybody.
The pain that one person went through, the
the prophet
says that
the believer is like a body.
That if the eye hurts, the head will
hurt, and the head will hurt, the whole
body will
hurt. You know that these prophet
tells us that the Muslim ummah
in its love and care is like a
building.
You can't take off one floor and and
expect the rest of the building to be
standing.
For example, he sees the pain of Salman
Farsi
an outsider,
a stranger.
And he takes Salman and he says, Salman,
I feel this pain.
Why? Because the prophet at
one time was a stranger.
At one time, the prophet
was a orphan.
And this is a reminder that
the pain that our brothers and sisters are
going through, it may be their pain, but
it's our responsibility
to feel that pain as well.
You don't have to be Palestinian.
You don't have to
have a flag in your house or on
your car or where they could fly
out. But the pain
as a Muslim,
as a person
who believes
in justice
of Allah
that has to be there. Allah
in the
Quran tells us and orders us.
Oh Allah
we ask that you flee Palestine.
Oh Allah
we ask that you stop the hands of
the oppressors. Oh Allah we ask that you
turn their plans and their plots against them.
Oh, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, the way that
you have taken care of the oppressors in
the past, we ask that you take care
of the oppressors today. Oh, Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala, the way that you have supported those
who believe in you in the past, we
ask that you support our Muslim brothers and
sisters in Palestine. Oh, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
become their strength. Oh,
Allah keep your hand and your help upon
them. Oh, Allah
do do not let a day go by
that
blood is shed of the Muslim Ummah. Oh,
Allah
we ask that you forgive their sins. Oh,
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, we ask that you
grant them a high place in Jannah. Oh,
Allah we ask that you forgive our sins.
You overlook our shortcomings. You pardon our mistakes.
Oh, Allah we ask that you keep us
safe. Oh, Allah we ask that you not
test us the way that you have tested
them.
All anxieties. Oh Allah, you are the turner
of hearts. Oh Allah, we ask that you
remove the difficulties from them. Oh Allah, we
ask that you turn their hearts to that
which is pleasing to you. Oh Allah, we
ask for actions that's pleasing to you and
that bring us close to Jannah. Oh, Allah,
we seek protection from action that upset you.
Oh, Allah, that bring us closer to Jahannam.
Oh, Allah, we
ask that you be pleased with us. Oh,
Allah, be pleased with us. Oh, Allah, be
pleased with us.
There is a request for brother Musa Ahmed.
We made to Allah
gives him a quick, complete, everlasting Shifa that
Allah gives his family strength and stubborn in
this hard time that Allah returns it back
to his family with full and
complete help.
So so far, Sudur for us.
Set your line. Fill up your gaps.
