My brothers and sisters, I remind myself I
knew that Ramadan is
about fasting. It is not about feasting.
So don't get involved in food.
I know there are people who for example,
samosas.
When I was living in the there was
this place which the shop which, sold samosas.
There would be literally a riot in front
of that shop every
day in Northern.
People fighting each other, parking cars in all
kinds of odd ways, yelling and screaming at
each other. How ugly and how dirty is
that?
Right? Now imagine this is that is in
one place, but the point is that this
kind of attitude
of being,
you know, overly greedy,
of,
demanding that your,
if you have servants, then the servants, otherwise
your your your people in the house, your
your
the women in the house who usually do
the cooking, so your mothers, your wives,
sisters, whoever,
that they should provide this fancy meal. And
so, therefore,
at the time of iftar,
which is the time for making dua, closer
to that time, all through the day, they
are also fasting, they are also Muslim.
Instead of focusing on
more Ibadah, more
Quran, more Zika,
instead of focusing on
pleasing Allah
about, they are focused on pleasing you, and
they're focused on providing this great meal. Otherwise,
you would become a nuisance in their lives.
Please don't destroy yourself.
Shaitan has a way of destroying Amal.
Either he will prevent you from doing the
good deed or he will adulterate that good
deed and he will corrupt that good deed
by something which reduces the reward that you
would have got. Don't allow shaitan to do
that. One of the finest and most successful
ways in which Shaitan
adulterates and destroys and corrupts our fasting is
by this,
by people fighting over food, by people putting
unnecessary pressure on
people in the home to provide these fancy
meals.
Please keep it simple.
A simple sahu,
simple iftar,
and then go and pray taravi. It is
good for your health, it is good for
your belly, it is good for people. In
the Masjid, it gives you concentration in salah.
You're not getting tired, you're not yawning, and
you're not,
you know, suffering from excess eating.
Keep it simple
and leave
your family, leave if you have servant, leave
your servants,
Leave them, give them free time also
to please Allah
Let them be focused on pleasing Allah. Then
then then they will make dua for you,
for your
ibadah also to be accepted.
Don't put pressure on them.
The idea is to change our behavior and
become better, not worse.
