My brothers and sisters.
Alhamdulillah,
Allah
has blessed us
with the
holy and Mubarak
blessed month of
Inshallah, here in America, we start
tomorrow, which
is Saturday,
8th of
June.
And,
the first
9 days,
the 10th day is
Yawu Nahar or
Eidul Adha,
the day of sacrifice
or Eidur Ladha.
So these 10 days
Rasoolullah
said that these 10 days are the best
days
of the year
and he said that Allah loves
the good deeds that are done during these
10 days
more than he loves any other good deeds
done at any other time of the year.
And when the Sahaba asked him for more
detail he said, Except when a person goes
out to fight in the path of Allah
with his life and his wealth,
and he does not return with either,
meaning the person has
attained martyrdom.
He said other than that, these 10 days
are the most
blessed days and the deeds done in these
10 days are the most beloved to Allah
so let us take advantage of this
and let us not waste
our time
during these days.
Even more importantly, let us not do something
which is
which amounts to the disobedience of Allah
because just like
doing something
stealing is a crime
but stealing from the masjid becomes a bigger
crime because the place you are stealing from
is a place of barakah.
It's the house of Allah.
So even though the act of stealing is
the same but
when it is done from a place like
that
then it becomes more
heinous
and more worthy of punishment. So
sins which are done
in
places and at times which are full of
Baraka
become even more serious. So let us not
deliberately
do anything which is wrong.
If there is a doubt about something, then
check and clarify that doubt before you do
that thing. But,
most of us have enough knowledge to know
what is right or what is wrong. So
let us make sure that we do what
is right and we do not do what
is wrong.
Now, what are some of the good deeds
that we can do during these 10 days?
The most important one
and the easiest to do
is salah at its time in the masjid,
especially for the men, salah at its time
in the masjid
And for the women, salah, at at its
time,
wherever they are in at home.
This is the best
of all deed.
These. So let us do that and let
us make that into
a good habit going forward.
The second thing is fasting
because
Allah said,
he said the fast is for me, and
I will reward it.
So let us make sure that we
put ourselves in the way of that reward.
Then I remember I remind myself and you
that the hadith in Musa Nadeem Muhammad,
where Rasulullah
said, verily, you will never leave anything for
the sake of Allah Almighty
but that Allah will replace it with something
better for you.
He said you will verily you will never
leave anything for the sake of Allah Almighty,
Allah but
that Allah
will replace it with something better for you.
Now one of the things that we can
leave for the sake of Allah
is to sleeping too much
sleeping too much. Instead of sleeping too much,
if we can get up 1 hour before,
and inculcate
the habit of,
of the Hajjut, then believe me, that can
be the that will be the best possible
thing
that,
we can
inculcate
inculcate the habit of Taal.
So first thing,
as I said, is salah. Second one is
to fast.
Fast in all of these days because
especially because the fast of 9th
of Zulija
is
expiation
for sins,
forgiveness
of sins
a year before and the year after.
So the year gone by and the year
to come.
So
that is the fast of 9th of the
region.
My request and submission is don't go and
search which is the 9th.
What time was the moon sighted? When was
it sighted? Where was just fast all of
these days. Alhamdulillah.
You will get the 9th as well as
you will get the benefit of fasting in
all of these,
all these days which is Alhamdulillah something which
is wonderful.
So that is as far as fasting is
concerned.
3rd thing is give up some sleep
and pray tahaju.
So wake up 1 hour before Salatul Fajr,
pray
TahaJut
2 by 2 as many as
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala gives Tawfiq
and then make a lot of Dua. That
is the time for the acceptance of Dua
because Rasool Nasir al Sallallahu Alaihi wa Taala
said Allah
descends to the first heaven
in a way that pleases him in
keeping with his majesty and grace
and announces.
It says, who is this? Who is there
that needs my protection? Who is there
who needs everything from me and I am
here to give it?
So let us not
waste that time. Let us ask Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala. He promised to give.
Let us not be tardy in asking.
Then
and in that context
he said, salamullah,
Allah will a person will not give up
something
that Allah will replace it with something better.
So we give up some sleep and Allah
Subhara Wa Ta'ala will replace it with something
much better than that.
Similarly
give charity
because
charity cools
the anger of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. May
Allah forgive us. We give Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala plenty of
cause to be angry with us. Let us
do something to change that.
So stop committing sins. Let us stop ourselves
from committing sins
and give lot of charity. And remember that
Allah
does not take ahsan from anyone.
Whatever you give Allah will return to you
in keeping with His majesty and grace many
fold in this Duniya as well as the
Akhirah.
Allah SWT said, give from what we have
provided you.
Give from
what we have provided
you. Allah did not say give from what
is left over. Give from what you don't
like.
Give from what you would have otherwise thrown
into the garbage.
All charity is good. Even if you are
giving away some something that you don't like,
that is also good.
But try to maximize
try to maximize the benefits Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala said
You cannot reach the highest level of piety
or al Bir until you give in the
path of Allah
that which you love the most.
So give in charity, give good things, give
new things,
give something that you love.
Feel the pain of that.
And when you feel the pain, remember that
that pain is a sign that the iman
is weak.
Because how can you feel pain
when
instead of giving that thing which you would
have given up in any case because when
you died that thing was not coming with
you to the grave.
So what have you given up? But instead
of that, Allah SWT is giving you and
me something which is everlasting,
which is His pleasure, His uddah,
reward from Him in the akhirah.
So when we are saying, I am giving
this, I am giving that, please remember this.
Keep this in context. We are not giving
anything. Nobody gives anything to Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala. He is the owner of everything.
He owns me and He owns everything that
I have. So what can I give him?
This is only Allah
has given us an excuse to earn his
pleasure. So Allah says, Give it the Path
of Allah. So give and give well and
give
lots
and give something you love.
And then a man came
to Nabi Salam
and he said, You Rasool Allah, which
which charity has the greatest reward?
Rasool Allah responded. He
said that you give charity
while you are healthy,
greedy, fearing poverty and hoping to be rich.
While you're healthy,
Greedy, meaning you want things of this world.
You fear poverty
and you hope to become rich.
Do not delay giving until you are on
your deathbed.
Then say, this is for such a person
because it already belongs to that person. This
is a Muttafah Honale agreed upon Hadithin
Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim.
So
make sure that you
give and give
well.
1 of the Sahaba
called Abu Shurai
of the Al Anu,
he reported, he said that he asked
Rasool
You Rasoolullah sallam, tell me something
that will guarantee Jannah for me.
Nabi
said, speak kind words,
spread the salaam,
and feed the hungry.
Speak kind words,
spread salaam,
greet people, spread peace
and feed the hungry
and this is in Sahih ibn Hibban.
My brothers and sisters this is the beauty
of Islam.
It is so
beautiful that it
you know, it
there is benefit
in Islam in every single thing that we
say or do.
Then Rasool Allah said in a Hadith
in Mujjam Al Kabir
Whoever leaves for the Masjid in the morning
for no reason but to learn goodness or
teach others,
he will have a reward as if he
has completed Hajj.
Whoever lives at the wajid
in the morning for no reason other than
to learn
or to teach something good, he will have
a reward as if he has completed
hedge.
So imagine, this is the beauty of this,
dean of ours
that
we are
given this benefit
of doing small things
for which Allah
gives big rewards.
Small things
for which
Allah
gives big rewards.
So
Salah, charity, staying away from sins,
fasting
and charity in different ways, and then giving
up especially
some of
our
beloved time and some of our beloved things
so that
we get closer to Allah.
All of these are things which
always are things which
endear us to Allah SWT.
Let us do
all of these
as much as possible for the sake of
pleasing Allah
in this
beautiful time, in this beautiful month,
in these beautiful days.
And then the final thing is
the or
the,
on the day of
of,
Eid ul Adha.
This
is very, very important
in different Badai.
It is Wajib. It is Fard.
But the most important thing is the Hadith
of Rasool Allah SWALLAM. He said, the one
who can afford to give a sacrifice and
does not give it, let him not come
and pray with us, the Salatul Eid.
Now if someone if something is emphasized
so strongly,
then my submission is don't go into is
it mustahab, is it this, is it that.
It is to be done. So do it.
If because Allah
gave you the wealth, you are even asking
this question.
If you are poor, you would be standing
with a bowl in your hand at the
door of somebody who had done the uddhiyah
hoping that you will get some meat as
charity.
Right? Think about that. Put yourself in that
situation.
How would you look? Your your your family
is hungry.
You don't have the money to buy any
meat. You don't have the money to buy
food, and you are waiting at the door
of somebody who has
done the Qurbani Uddhiya
hoping that they will give you some meat.
I know in India where we do, there
are people who eat meat only one time
in the whole year and that is when
the Muslims are doing
the
on the on the on on on, Eid
ul Adha.
They cannot afford any meat. The only time
they get free meat is when this happens.
We could be among those people. Allah
could have made you and me
where you and me would be standing
with these begging bowls in our hands.
Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah.
Allah
did not do that. Allah gave us the
ability to do the Qurbani.
So do the Qurbani, do the Uddhiya
and make sure
that you please or try to please Allah
Subhanahu wa ta'ala. And the
is for anyone on whom zakat is wajib.
So if you are paying zakat, then the
is for you.
If there are 10 people in your family
and if all 10 pays zakat, then you
must give
for all 10.
All of 10. You you give me no.
You don't give for them. Each one gives
for himself. Right? The is 1,
sheep or goat
and or one share in a bigger animal.
One share in cattle.
So one sheep or goat or
one share in cattle.
Each,
cattle,
cow, bullock,
bull,
buffalo, whatever,
has 7 shares.
I said bullock and I said buffalo. Please
understand.
An animal which has been castrated cannot be
given in,
in Corvani. It has to be a whole
animal,
healthy animal, not a sick animal, Not an
animal which has any part missing. So make
sure you,
give the right kind of animal.
So one share
in a bigger animal or one sheep or
goat
per person
on whom
Zakat is by Wajib, somebody who is paying
Zakat.
The Baraka of that,
the blessing of that goes to the whole
family.
I'm saying this in advance because again we
are going to have 10
days, 9 days from now. This question.
Is one sheep enough for the whole family?
No. It is not enough for the whole
family. If you are giving Zakat, you have
to pay. That one sheep is for you.
If your wife is paying Zakat, she has
to give another sheep. If your son is
paying Zakat, he has to give another sheep
and so on.
If you are the only one who is
paying Zakat
and you have 10 children, none of them
is paying Zakat. Your wife has no money.
She is not paying Zakat. Then that one
sheep is enough, Insha'Allah,
for everyone. When we say for everyone, all
that means is that the barakah of that,
the blessing of that
goes to everyone.
But the
actual material thing
is for the one on whom it is
for. So just like Zakat, if I pay
Zakat, alhamdulillah,
my money becomes pure.
And InshaAllah my family which is eating from
that money is eating something which is pure
which is pure. But Zakat is far on
me. Similarly, the Uddhiyah, the Khurmani
is far on the person who is paying
Zakat.
We ask Allah
to help us
to do that which is pleasing to Him
and to save us from that which does
not please Him.
