The speakers stress the need for individuals to have a daily record of their worship and use it to make the right decision. The history and significance of the Prophet's actions and attributes are also discussed, including his stance on people's fear and desire for joy and his ability to change one's life and become accepted with joy.

00:00:21 --> 00:00:23
			smilla rahmanir rahim

00:00:25 --> 00:00:32
			al hamdu Lillahi Rabbil alameen wa salatu salam ala to Nanak nalani Allah, Allah He ultramarine

00:00:33 --> 00:00:46
			while early he was supposed to be he said he had he was tending to be so nutty he, Eli Yomi Dean.
Another Salam alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

00:00:53 --> 00:01:03
			inshallah, we're gonna try to just keep it short tonight. I know you usually have your halaqa with
shift marked awesome that you do him traveling, I'm just filling in for today.

00:01:06 --> 00:01:09
			Through our lives, we

00:01:10 --> 00:01:12
			we learned many things.

00:01:14 --> 00:01:15
			We

00:01:16 --> 00:01:21
			learn different disciplines, we learn different sciences,

00:01:22 --> 00:01:23
			you learn different subjects.

00:01:25 --> 00:01:27
			As we grow, from when we're children,

00:01:29 --> 00:01:30
			until we become adults.

00:01:32 --> 00:01:36
			All of these things that we learn we learn them for the purpose

00:01:37 --> 00:01:39
			of benefiting us.

00:01:40 --> 00:01:41
			One day

00:01:43 --> 00:01:46
			all of these things that we learned these different kinds of knowledge.

00:01:48 --> 00:01:54
			The end result is for them to benefit us. One day in the future.

00:01:55 --> 00:01:59
			The same thing can be said with regards to what we learn of our Deen

00:02:01 --> 00:02:03
			we learn many different things.

00:02:04 --> 00:02:05
			We learn

00:02:07 --> 00:02:10
			many different subjects related to our Deen

00:02:11 --> 00:02:20
			we have al Qaeda we have C we have fic these are all different branches of knowledge of our Deen

00:02:21 --> 00:02:29
			the purpose of it is for what? So that it benefits us in this life and more importantly in the era.

00:02:32 --> 00:02:33
			But there's one

00:02:34 --> 00:02:39
			aspect of this knowledge of our Deen that many of us

00:02:41 --> 00:02:42
			have neglected

00:02:44 --> 00:02:45
			and many

00:02:46 --> 00:02:49
			don't really give much emphasis to it.

00:02:50 --> 00:02:54
			Even though it is the most important thing for you to learn,

00:02:56 --> 00:02:58
			there is nothing more important

00:02:59 --> 00:03:02
			there is nothing greater. There's nothing more noble

00:03:04 --> 00:03:07
			for a Muslim to learn than this.

00:03:09 --> 00:03:12
			The question is, what is this knowledge?

00:03:14 --> 00:03:18
			What is the greatest thing that a Muslim should know about?

00:03:20 --> 00:03:21
			What is the greatest thing?

00:03:22 --> 00:03:25
			The ultimate knowledge that a Muslim

00:03:26 --> 00:03:27
			he has to know

00:03:28 --> 00:03:30
			he has to know about this.

00:03:33 --> 00:03:35
			Who wants to volunteer to answer

00:03:38 --> 00:03:38
			so hate

00:03:40 --> 00:03:40
			Akita

00:03:43 --> 00:03:44
			about Europe,

00:03:46 --> 00:03:47
			about Allah

00:03:49 --> 00:03:49
			evil.

00:03:51 --> 00:03:53
			Evil okay him he says

00:03:55 --> 00:03:59
			there is no doubt that the most noble and greatest thing to know

00:04:01 --> 00:04:01
			is Allah

00:04:03 --> 00:04:06
			whom there is no god but He robbed the lion I mean,

00:04:07 --> 00:04:12
			he also says, just like the worship of Allah is required.

00:04:14 --> 00:04:21
			And it is intended in and of itself, likewise is to have knowledge about Allah.

00:04:24 --> 00:04:40
			Why because knowledge is the best kind of a bad he says, having knowledge of awesome Hannah who
attacker gaining knowledge about Allah is the Greatest kind of a data. There's no greater title of a
bad intelligence. Some of us think that praying

00:04:42 --> 00:04:43
			or fasting

00:04:44 --> 00:04:47
			or these outward Eva that are the greatest

00:04:48 --> 00:04:55
			and there is no greater a better than it's greater than all of this is to get to know the loss of
Hannah who went ahead.

00:04:57 --> 00:04:59
			And a bill Roger, he says

00:05:00 --> 00:05:03
			The best knowledge is knowledge about Allah,

00:05:05 --> 00:05:20
			which is knowledge about his names, his attributes, and his actions, which in turn results in the
forgiveness of Allah, the fear of Allah, the love of Allah, the veneration for Allah,

00:05:21 --> 00:05:27
			putting our toe acqualina law, all of these things that we hear so much about

00:05:28 --> 00:05:30
			Eman, taqwa, tawakkol

00:05:31 --> 00:05:38
			eliakim all of these aspects related to our hearts. Where do they come from?

00:05:39 --> 00:05:40
			Where do they come from?

00:05:41 --> 00:06:01
			They come from knowledge about who Allah is a person who doesn't know Allah subhanho wa Taala
there's no way. There's no way for him to fear Allah. There's no way for him to love Allah. There's
no way for him to even worship Allah subhanho wa Taala in the way Allah wants us to worship him.

00:06:02 --> 00:06:05
			That's why he blocked him. He says,

00:06:07 --> 00:06:10
			based upon one's knowledge of Allah

00:06:11 --> 00:06:15
			is his veneration for him in his heart.

00:06:17 --> 00:06:25
			And those most knowledgeable about Allah, are those most revering and venerating of him subhanho wa
Taala.

00:06:27 --> 00:06:33
			And so the level of people in terms of their worship of Allah is proportionate to what?

00:06:35 --> 00:06:47
			What is it proportionate to? It's proportionate to their knowledge of Allah subhanho wa Taala those
small those most knowledgeable of Allah Subhana Hua data are those most

00:06:49 --> 00:06:50
			worshiping Him.

00:06:51 --> 00:06:52
			The two go hand in hand.

00:06:54 --> 00:06:56
			If you want to know your level

00:06:57 --> 00:06:58
			of worship,

00:07:00 --> 00:07:02
			why is it low? Or why is it high?

00:07:03 --> 00:07:11
			It's because of your level of your knowledge of Allah subhanho wa Taala look at the different kinds
of physical Eva that

00:07:12 --> 00:07:14
			the physical act of Eva

00:07:16 --> 00:07:21
			and look at their connection to this knowledge of Allah subhanho wa Taala

00:07:22 --> 00:07:24
			observe a sola

00:07:26 --> 00:07:29
			this daily salada we pray five times a day.

00:07:31 --> 00:07:32
			Observe what you see in it.

00:07:35 --> 00:07:39
			It starts with the praise of Allah subhanahu wa tada connecting you to what

00:07:41 --> 00:07:42
			to who Allah is

00:07:44 --> 00:07:48
			the conversation that you have between you and Allah in Surah Fatiha

00:07:49 --> 00:07:53
			and then when you say something Allahu leemon hamidah

00:07:56 --> 00:07:58
			Allah here is the one who praises him.

00:08:00 --> 00:08:02
			It's not just hearing, but a hearing

00:08:03 --> 00:08:11
			that comes with responding when a lot here is he responds, all of these things are connected to

00:08:12 --> 00:08:17
			connected to the names and the attributes of Allah subhanho wa Taala look at

00:08:18 --> 00:08:20
			take one simple example that you have is taharah.

00:08:22 --> 00:08:25
			Who here has memorized Do I have is too hard to put up your hand

00:08:27 --> 00:08:27
			in the back there?

00:08:30 --> 00:08:34
			Who knows? Do I have his taharah? What is it to have his taharah

00:08:36 --> 00:08:36
			in the green

00:08:40 --> 00:08:42
			What is it Do I have is Takara?

00:08:45 --> 00:08:45
			Who knows?

00:08:47 --> 00:08:48
			It is a do how you say when?

00:08:50 --> 00:08:51
			When do you say this da

00:08:56 --> 00:08:58
			so when you want to make a decision and you don't know

00:09:00 --> 00:09:00
			if I should?

00:09:02 --> 00:09:11
			If I should make this decision or not. And so you consult you consult a law. What do you say in this
to her? You basically

00:09:12 --> 00:09:13
			you basically

00:09:16 --> 00:09:20
			declare your weakness as a human being.

00:09:23 --> 00:09:26
			And you affirm the perfection of Allah subhana wa Tada.

00:09:28 --> 00:09:30
			That's basically what you're doing in this Doha.

00:09:31 --> 00:09:43
			You're calling upon the law by his attribute of his knowledge, the old law you have knowledge of
everything, and I know nothing. You have power over everything and I am powerless.

00:09:44 --> 00:09:46
			So help me to make the right decision.

00:09:48 --> 00:09:48
			Look at

00:09:49 --> 00:09:57
			the data of Sudan fasting, what does fasting have to do with knowledge of Allah subhana wa Tada.

00:10:00 --> 00:10:06
			Watson Hannah who is out what does he tell us when he commanded us to fast? Lala come

00:10:07 --> 00:10:10
			to Taku Why did Allah legislate fasting?

00:10:11 --> 00:10:29
			So that we attained from it? The taqwa of Allah subhana wa Tada. And so, all of these acts of a bad,
many of us will perform them without realizing that they are all directly related to knowledge of
Allah subhanho wa Taala.

00:10:30 --> 00:10:48
			And it stems from their it stems from our knowledge of Allah. And then it goes from that, to all of
these acts, whether they are related to Acts related to our hearts, or these older physical, hey,
bad acts. And this is why the prophets and the messengers

00:10:49 --> 00:10:57
			were at the highest level of a man of taqwa of worship.

00:10:59 --> 00:11:01
			The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said

00:11:03 --> 00:11:05
			in Neela, lm Camilla,

00:11:06 --> 00:11:20
			were in need, can be the I am the most knowledgeable of you concerning a lot. And I'm also the move
the most fearing of among you, look at how the two are related.

00:11:22 --> 00:11:32
			Also, Allah subhanho wa Taala mentions is in Nana yaksha, la, Mina arriba de la la la la. La says
only

00:11:33 --> 00:11:34
			who fears a lot only who

00:11:36 --> 00:11:44
			those who have knowledge as scholars, and the scholars he mentioned that this ayah refers to those
who have knowledge about a law.

00:11:46 --> 00:11:53
			Those who know Allah Subhana, who attallah truly, they are the only ones who can fear Allah subhanho
wa Taala.

00:11:56 --> 00:12:01
			And we find this throughout the lives of the prophets and the messengers.

00:12:02 --> 00:12:08
			You find that they were at the highest levels of a man of conviction

00:12:10 --> 00:12:16
			of worship. Why? Because they knew Allah subhanho wa Taala better than anyone else.

00:12:17 --> 00:12:19
			Take the example of musala his salah

00:12:22 --> 00:12:24
			and when he was fleeing Pharaoh,

00:12:26 --> 00:12:27
			we all know the story.

00:12:28 --> 00:12:29
			And so they were fleeing

00:12:32 --> 00:12:34
			and they came across the sea.

00:12:37 --> 00:12:38
			The sea is in front of them

00:12:39 --> 00:12:43
			and fit I own and his troops are behind them.

00:12:47 --> 00:12:56
			So what did the people of Musashi said and what did they say for that matter? Ah, Elgin honey color,
Abu Musab in Morocco.

00:12:58 --> 00:13:01
			When the two parties, the two groups,

00:13:02 --> 00:13:03
			they now met each other,

00:13:06 --> 00:13:09
			to see is in front of them, and now

00:13:10 --> 00:13:13
			fit out and his troops are right behind them.

00:13:14 --> 00:13:22
			What did the people of Moosa say, call in Allah moutoku? They said, that's it. It's over. They've
caught us.

00:13:24 --> 00:13:26
			We have nowhere to run now.

00:13:30 --> 00:13:31
			Now look at

00:13:32 --> 00:13:35
			the response of Musa alayhis salaam What did musala ceram say?

00:13:37 --> 00:13:39
			Showing us once again.

00:13:42 --> 00:13:45
			An example of one who knows Allah subhana wa Tada.

00:13:48 --> 00:13:53
			One who truly knows Allah Subhana, who attacked through his names and his attributes.

00:13:54 --> 00:13:56
			Call a Kela.

00:13:57 --> 00:14:01
			In Europe bcit. He said, No,

00:14:02 --> 00:14:02
			it's not over.

00:14:04 --> 00:14:08
			It's not over. But rather, I have a lord

00:14:09 --> 00:14:10
			who will guide me.

00:14:12 --> 00:14:13
			I have a lord

00:14:14 --> 00:14:15
			who will guide me.

00:14:19 --> 00:14:20
			Now

00:14:21 --> 00:14:24
			some people may think that Musa alayhis salaam

00:14:25 --> 00:14:25
			he knew

00:14:26 --> 00:14:27
			what would happen.

00:14:31 --> 00:14:34
			That was had a hotel to basically show them what would happen.

00:14:36 --> 00:14:45
			That's what one of us would think. When he hears this statement, why would musala his salon say
that? No, it's not over.

00:14:47 --> 00:14:48
			Why would he say that?

00:14:50 --> 00:14:59
			Some of us may think he's saying this because he knows that Allah subhanho wa Taala will split the
sea and they'll escape but no

00:15:01 --> 00:15:03
			Musa alayhis salam did not know what would happen

00:15:04 --> 00:15:05
			but yet

00:15:07 --> 00:15:08
			he had a conviction

00:15:12 --> 00:15:17
			in the aid and the help of Allah subhana wa Taala at this very, very difficult moment.

00:15:20 --> 00:15:24
			Notice how moosari salam did not forget

00:15:26 --> 00:15:30
			the words of Allah subhana wa tada at the very beginning of his mission.

00:15:32 --> 00:15:38
			When Allah subhanho wa Taala commanded Moosa and Harun to go and give dour to Pharaoh.

00:15:41 --> 00:15:44
			The response of Musa and Harun was no, we're afraid

00:15:46 --> 00:15:47
			to drown he's a tyrant.

00:15:48 --> 00:15:57
			We're afraid of him. So what did the loss of Hannah who what to how to say to musala his salon and
Harun call Allah to hoffa

00:15:58 --> 00:16:01
			in Nima Kuma is narrower?

00:16:03 --> 00:16:04
			Do not fear.

00:16:06 --> 00:16:11
			Why? Because I am with you. Allah is saying, I am with you.

00:16:13 --> 00:16:16
			I hear and I see.

00:16:19 --> 00:16:27
			And so throughout the mission of Musashi has said up until this point, musala Islam remember these
words, and never forgot them?

00:16:28 --> 00:16:31
			That Allah is with them, and he will never abandon them.

00:16:33 --> 00:16:37
			And so this is why Musa alayhis salam said what he said.

00:16:40 --> 00:16:43
			Now, after that, we all know

00:16:44 --> 00:16:46
			that Allah subhanho wa Taala saved them

00:16:47 --> 00:16:51
			and told Mussolini's ram to strike the sea with his staff.

00:16:52 --> 00:16:54
			And they made it to the other side. Now.

00:16:55 --> 00:16:56
			Musa alayhis salam

00:17:01 --> 00:17:03
			he did not know what would happen next.

00:17:05 --> 00:17:11
			They've made it they've escaped to the other side. So he was about to hit the sea again with his
staff.

00:17:14 --> 00:17:14
			Why?

00:17:16 --> 00:17:17
			Because

00:17:18 --> 00:17:19
			he thought

00:17:22 --> 00:17:24
			that we've escaped we come to the other side of the seat.

00:17:25 --> 00:17:33
			Now let the waves come crashing down. So that fear around and his army don't come after us.

00:17:34 --> 00:17:35
			He thought

00:17:36 --> 00:17:46
			that that's it will escape and there'll be left behind. But Allah subhanho wa Taala told Musashi is
salam to Culebra hora one, leave this.

00:17:48 --> 00:17:48
			Leave it,

00:17:50 --> 00:17:51
			let them enter.

00:17:52 --> 00:17:54
			He had no clue what was happening.

00:17:56 --> 00:18:03
			He had no clue that Allah subhanahu wa tada wanted to show. Musa alayhis salam and his followers,

00:18:04 --> 00:18:08
			the destruction of their own and his army right before their eyes.

00:18:11 --> 00:18:21
			And so all of this shows us and we have many, many examples from the lives of the prophets and the
messengers, showing us their level of image and their level of taqwa.

00:18:23 --> 00:18:26
			their level of yucky and all of this, where did it emanate from?

00:18:27 --> 00:18:34
			The emanated from them, knowing Allah subhanho wa Taala. knowing him through his names, and his
attributes.

00:18:37 --> 00:18:40
			We have the famous story of our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam when

00:18:42 --> 00:18:43
			he was making his role with Abu Bakar

00:18:45 --> 00:18:46
			and they were in the cave hiding.

00:18:47 --> 00:19:03
			And Abu Bakr radi Allahu, and he noticed that the enemy was at the, at the doorstep of the cave. And
so what did the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam tell him? He told him not to grieve? He told him
not to be afraid. Why Because Allah is with us.

00:19:04 --> 00:19:08
			And so these are examples from the lives of the prophets and the messengers

00:19:10 --> 00:19:17
			that show us what that show us that they were the most knowledgeable of Allah subhana wa tada

00:19:18 --> 00:19:20
			from the creation of Allah

00:19:21 --> 00:19:23
			now when it comes to

00:19:25 --> 00:19:29
			Allah subhanho wa Taala and his names and his attributes, we have a very, very famous Heidi

00:19:32 --> 00:19:33
			which had eaters are

00:19:36 --> 00:19:39
			regarding the names of Allah subhanho wa Taala.

00:19:42 --> 00:19:43
			Nope

00:19:46 --> 00:19:57
			Yes, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said in Allah He t satin with this arena his men, me
attend Allah wa hidden men saw her

00:19:58 --> 00:19:59
			the halogen

00:20:00 --> 00:20:07
			Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said that Allah has 99 names. 100 minus one.

00:20:09 --> 00:20:12
			Whoever learns them by heart,

00:20:13 --> 00:20:14
			he will enter Jin.

00:20:15 --> 00:20:19
			Whoever learns them by heart, he will enter Jin.

00:20:20 --> 00:20:23
			So how many names there's a loss of Hannah who would have

00:20:27 --> 00:20:29
			99? Who else?

00:20:30 --> 00:20:32
			How many names is a loss of Hannah without a hat?

00:20:34 --> 00:20:36
			99 Does everyone agree?

00:20:37 --> 00:20:38
			Huh?

00:20:40 --> 00:20:44
			So he doesn't have a loss of Hannah, who does not have 99 names.

00:20:47 --> 00:20:48
			Okay, who else?

00:20:54 --> 00:21:09
			Yes, so basically, yes, Allah subhanho wa Taala has 99 names. But it doesn't mean that he only has
99 names. Rather, he has an infinite number of names.

00:21:10 --> 00:21:15
			So when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam here says, Allah has 99 names.

00:21:16 --> 00:21:24
			What it means is like, for example, if you said that I have $100 right now, right now I have $100.

00:21:27 --> 00:21:34
			Do you understand from that, that I only have $100? I don't have any other wealth. I don't have any
other money, no.

00:21:35 --> 00:21:45
			But rather in my pocket right now this is how much I have. So similarly, Allah has 99 names, and he
has more than 99 names. But the point here is that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:21:47 --> 00:21:53
			mentioned the reward of those who learned these names.

00:21:54 --> 00:21:58
			What does it mean? When the prophet SAW Selim said man saw Ha.

00:21:59 --> 00:22:12
			What does it mean to to enumerate these names? What does it mean to learn these names by heart? Does
it mean to only memorize them? No, that's one thing.

00:22:14 --> 00:22:27
			That's one thing. You have to memorize these in order for you to get this promise of Allah of the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, to intergender. So the first thing is to memorize them. The
second is

00:22:29 --> 00:22:42
			to understand their meanings. Not to simply memorize without understanding the meanings of them, but
rather to memorize them and also to learn their meanings. Thirdly, what else?

00:22:45 --> 00:23:01
			Yes, to act according to these meanings. So for example, if you know that, among the names of Allah
is ahead, that he is the one you will never associate partners with a lot in your worship.

00:23:02 --> 00:23:07
			If you knew if you knew that loss of Hannah who attalla is a Razzaq?

00:23:08 --> 00:23:11
			The one who provides, you will not seek

00:23:12 --> 00:23:20
			you will not seek risk from anyone but Allah subhanho wa Taala. If you knew that Allah subhanho wa
Taala was a Rahim.

00:23:21 --> 00:23:22
			Then you would basically

00:23:24 --> 00:23:37
			obey Allah and worship Allah Subhana who with the data, and know that this is a way of attaining the
mercy of Allah subhanho wa Taala and so on and so forth. Finally, finally,

00:23:39 --> 00:23:43
			what does it mean to to learn the names of Allah subhanho wa Taala 99 names,

00:23:45 --> 00:23:54
			to call upon Allah by these names, to use these names of Allah subhanho wa Taala, to make dua with
them. So for example,

00:23:55 --> 00:23:59
			if you ask if you want to ask Allah for forgiveness,

00:24:00 --> 00:24:23
			you asked a lot by his name, Uncle fool, or Rahim, the one who forgives, if you want to ask a lot
for money, for risk, you say yeah, Rosa, and so on, and so forth. So the point is that we need to
gain knowledge of Allah subhanho wa Taala through his names, and his attributes, but

00:24:24 --> 00:24:27
			not simply book knowledge,

00:24:28 --> 00:24:41
			not simply learning, for the sake of learning, like we learn any subject, but rather, knowledge that
will basically move us to actions

00:24:42 --> 00:24:48
			and will basically transform our lives both in inwardly and outwardly.

00:24:49 --> 00:24:50
			And this is what we find.

00:24:52 --> 00:24:58
			Why is it that you know, the Sahaba of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, they understood this

00:25:00 --> 00:25:03
			And yet, we today we don't understand this concerning

00:25:04 --> 00:25:06
			the knowledge of Allah subhanho wa Taala.

00:25:10 --> 00:25:12
			Concerning knowing Allah,

00:25:13 --> 00:25:15
			through His names and his attributes,

00:25:17 --> 00:25:39
			take the example. And there are so many examples from the lives of the companions of the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wasallam, where their entire lives revolved around knowing who Allah subhanho wa
Taala is through his names and his attributes through what he subhanahu attallah told us about
himself.

00:25:40 --> 00:25:46
			We have so many different examples. Take the example of ob urban cap, or the law Who is

00:25:48 --> 00:25:51
			this famous Companion of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam.

00:25:53 --> 00:25:55
			The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam one day he asked him

00:26:02 --> 00:26:03
			what

00:26:04 --> 00:26:06
			is the greatest area in the Quran?

00:26:08 --> 00:26:09
			A simple question.

00:26:11 --> 00:26:13
			What is the greatest area?

00:26:14 --> 00:26:16
			In the Quran? Now for us?

00:26:18 --> 00:26:19
			We already know the answer, right?

00:26:20 --> 00:26:21
			Who knows the answer?

00:26:23 --> 00:26:24
			What's the greatest idea in the Quran?

00:26:27 --> 00:26:29
			But let's say that

00:26:30 --> 00:26:35
			we didn't know that this was the answer. Let's say we never let's say this heavy did not exist.

00:26:36 --> 00:26:52
			But rather, it was open for discussion. Like many other you know, things that the scholars debated
what is the most frightening ayah in the Quran? What is the I in the Quran that contains the most
hope, for example?

00:26:53 --> 00:26:56
			And so they have different views of scholars mentioned.

00:27:00 --> 00:27:01
			But now

00:27:04 --> 00:27:07
			look at the answer of obey even

00:27:09 --> 00:27:11
			if we didn't know the answer,

00:27:12 --> 00:27:14
			if we didn't know the answer already,

00:27:15 --> 00:27:19
			we would come up with so many different answers

00:27:21 --> 00:27:25
			based on looking at the Quran from different angles,

00:27:26 --> 00:27:39
			so for example, you would say somebody would say the greatest eye in the Quran is called Wu Allahu
Ahad. Or the greatest idea in the Quran is, for example, I had to learn surah Noor

00:27:41 --> 00:27:48
			or its intro to Fatiha origin this surah or it's the longest ayah in the Quran, which is which?
Which surah?

00:27:49 --> 00:27:51
			Surah Baqarah. Which is that?

00:27:53 --> 00:27:53
			And what is it?

00:27:56 --> 00:28:01
			Yes, the I have a Dane, talking about you know what to do? Or how to?

00:28:03 --> 00:28:04
			How to basically

00:28:07 --> 00:28:11
			how to basically record our loans.

00:28:13 --> 00:28:23
			So everyone would come up with a different answer, what is the greatest idea? No crap, but look at
how old they have been capital, the long run, how he answered the question, without any thoughts

00:28:25 --> 00:28:28
			by simply restricting the answer

00:28:30 --> 00:28:30
			to

00:28:32 --> 00:28:35
			those verses, that speak about

00:28:37 --> 00:28:38
			a loss of handle subhanho wa Taala.

00:28:40 --> 00:28:48
			So he restricted it to that. And so it was clear to him that the greatest ayah in the Quran must be

00:28:49 --> 00:28:51
			that ayah that defines

00:28:52 --> 00:28:54
			for us who Allah is.

00:28:56 --> 00:28:58
			And so right away, he said,

00:28:59 --> 00:29:03
			it is Allahu La Ilaha Illa who will tell you

00:29:04 --> 00:29:11
			so as a result, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he patted him on his chest, and he said,
rejoice by this knowledge.

00:29:15 --> 00:29:22
			And we have so many examples of how the Sahaba their entire worldview revolved around.

00:29:25 --> 00:29:31
			The knowledge of Allah subhana wa tada the veneration of Allah subhana wa Tada.

00:29:32 --> 00:29:33
			Take the example

00:29:35 --> 00:29:40
			of let's go back to the beginning of the mission of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam when he
was in Mecca,

00:29:42 --> 00:29:43
			and so when he was in Mecca,

00:29:46 --> 00:29:48
			the mccanns

00:29:49 --> 00:29:54
			had started to spread a lot of rumors about the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam.

00:29:56 --> 00:29:58
			And so some said that he was a magician.

00:30:00 --> 00:30:01
			Other said that he was a poet.

00:30:02 --> 00:30:06
			Others said that he was mad he was crazy.

00:30:08 --> 00:30:10
			And so one of the notables of Mecca

00:30:12 --> 00:30:15
			by the name of the Mad Eben Taleb

00:30:16 --> 00:30:25
			printed it in Dallara, who was basically known to cure mental illnesses.

00:30:27 --> 00:30:31
			He was known to cure mentally ill people,

00:30:32 --> 00:30:33
			insane people.

00:30:35 --> 00:30:37
			And so he heard

00:30:39 --> 00:30:42
			what was going around these rumors about the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam.

00:30:43 --> 00:30:49
			So he wanted to help the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam, he heard that they're saying that he's
insane.

00:30:50 --> 00:30:53
			So he went to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and he said,

00:30:54 --> 00:30:57
			that look, I treat these kinds of illnesses.

00:30:59 --> 00:31:01
			And this is what the people are saying about.

00:31:03 --> 00:31:06
			So if you don't mind, Let me treat you. Let me cure you.

00:31:07 --> 00:31:10
			So how did the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam react?

00:31:13 --> 00:31:15
			Did he? Did he act harshly?

00:31:17 --> 00:31:18
			Or did he

00:31:19 --> 00:31:23
			try to prove his innocence?

00:31:24 --> 00:31:25
			Or

00:31:26 --> 00:31:28
			did he try to give him down?

00:31:29 --> 00:31:37
			To prove that, you know, these are my proofs that I am that what I'm saying is true. No, he didn't
do any of that.

00:31:38 --> 00:31:42
			But rather, after he heard Lima in Florida,

00:31:43 --> 00:31:44
			he heard what he had to say.

00:31:46 --> 00:31:49
			He started with these words, in Alhamdulilah

00:31:53 --> 00:31:55
			which is known as capital hedge.

00:31:57 --> 00:32:00
			The beginning of every hookah that we hear in

00:32:01 --> 00:32:11
			in Juma it starts with these words. Praise be to Allah, I praise Him, I seek his help, nobody can

00:32:12 --> 00:32:27
			mislead a person whom Allah guides. If Allah mislead someone, then no one can guide him. And then I
witness I bear witness that there is nothing worthy of worship except a lot and so on and so forth
till the end of

00:32:28 --> 00:32:30
			this hood will hatch.

00:32:32 --> 00:32:35
			So what was the reaction of lima beans?

00:32:37 --> 00:32:39
			This is all the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said,

00:32:41 --> 00:32:43
			What was his reaction? He said,

00:32:45 --> 00:32:46
			Can you repeat these words again.

00:32:48 --> 00:32:49
			He asked them to repeat them.

00:32:52 --> 00:32:58
			And so he repeated the hope but the prophet SAW Selim repeated the words. And then after,

00:32:59 --> 00:33:07
			after hearing them the second time, we met in Salah, he said, I have heard the words of magicians,

00:33:08 --> 00:33:10
			and sorcerers and poets,

00:33:11 --> 00:33:34
			I swear that I have never heard something like your words, your words have penetrated into the
vastness of the ocean. These words cannot be uttered by a mad person, a sorcerer or a poet. And then
he said, extend your hand. I will pay allegiance to you and I will become a Muslim. And so he said
the Shahada right there and

00:33:37 --> 00:33:40
			so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam didn't have to do anything.

00:33:42 --> 00:33:51
			He didn't have to do anything except define for him. Who Allah subhanho wa Taala was,

00:33:52 --> 00:33:53
			that was sufficient.

00:33:54 --> 00:34:01
			He explained to him who Allah subhanho wa Taala was and that was sufficient in this man

00:34:03 --> 00:34:10
			accepting Islam, proving to him that what the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam came with was
true.

00:34:12 --> 00:34:22
			And it could not be the words of any insane person, or any magician. And this is something that we
today lack in our dow.

00:34:23 --> 00:34:34
			When we get down to non Muslims, we focus on so many different things, but we forget the very
essence that we should be talking about. And that is, what

00:34:35 --> 00:34:41
			about Allah subhanho wa Taala not only about his oneness, but also

00:34:43 --> 00:34:47
			his names and his attributes. The Christians, for example, they claim

00:34:48 --> 00:34:52
			that Allah subhanho wa Taala that he loves us, that he loves everyone.

00:34:54 --> 00:34:58
			So why don't we use that attribute of Allah that Allah loves

00:34:59 --> 00:35:00
			to show

00:35:00 --> 00:35:00
			them

00:35:02 --> 00:35:06
			what it truly means for a lot to love. This is where we're lacking.

00:35:07 --> 00:35:08
			This is where we're lacking.

00:35:10 --> 00:35:13
			Take another example from the lives of the companions.

00:35:15 --> 00:35:17
			The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam once said,

00:35:18 --> 00:35:20
			to his companions,

00:35:21 --> 00:35:22
			and this is a very famous Hadith

00:35:24 --> 00:35:28
			concerning one of the attributes of Allah subhanho wa Taala. He said

00:35:30 --> 00:35:31
			in the law,

00:35:32 --> 00:35:35
			that Allah subhanho wa Taala laughs

00:35:37 --> 00:35:46
			Allah subhanho wa Taala laughs at the despair of his servants, although he soon changes it.

00:35:47 --> 00:35:57
			Basically, what this means is that Allah subhanahu, WA tada sees the people, they're going through
difficult times of drought

00:36:01 --> 00:36:02
			difficult times.

00:36:05 --> 00:36:07
			But he knows that very soon.

00:36:09 --> 00:36:10
			relief is going to come from Allah.

00:36:12 --> 00:36:17
			Allah knows that the relief is coming very soon. And so he looks at his servants.

00:36:18 --> 00:36:34
			They're in a very difficult situation. But Allah subhanho wa Taala laughs Why? out of joy, that the
relief is coming soon. So the so one of the companions. When you heard this, he asked the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam,

00:36:36 --> 00:36:37
			Yasuda Allah

00:36:39 --> 00:36:41
			does our Lord laugh.

00:36:44 --> 00:36:47
			And so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said yes,

00:36:48 --> 00:36:50
			he just wanted his affirmation,

00:36:51 --> 00:36:52
			his confirmation.

00:36:53 --> 00:36:55
			Is it really true that allow lapse.

00:36:57 --> 00:37:01
			So when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, yes, this companion, he said,

00:37:03 --> 00:37:08
			then we will never become, we will never be deprived of any good.

00:37:09 --> 00:37:11
			As long as we have a lord who laughs

00:37:13 --> 00:37:15
			We will never be deprived of any good

00:37:16 --> 00:37:23
			as long as we have a lord who laughs and so look at how the companions dealt with

00:37:24 --> 00:37:26
			this knowledge

00:37:27 --> 00:37:29
			of Allah subhanho wa Taala,

00:37:30 --> 00:37:34
			that when they learn something about Allah, though his attributes,

00:37:35 --> 00:37:37
			look at the conclusions that they would make.

00:37:39 --> 00:37:49
			None of us we, we hear these Hadith, but we don't make the same conclusions. He had a conviction
that as long as this is one of those attributes,

00:37:50 --> 00:37:55
			then Allah will never deprive us of any good.

00:37:58 --> 00:38:01
			And this is something that continued

00:38:03 --> 00:38:06
			even after the generation of the companions,

00:38:07 --> 00:38:09
			if we were to look at the lives of the Senate,

00:38:11 --> 00:38:21
			and the knowledge that they had of Allah subhanho wa Taala. Take the example of one of the settlers
by the name of Hamad bin sedima, who was one of the new readers of it.

00:38:22 --> 00:38:29
			He says, If I was given a choice between a law and my parents,

00:38:32 --> 00:38:34
			to hold me account,

00:38:36 --> 00:38:41
			to bring me to account on the Day of Judgment, who would I choose?

00:38:43 --> 00:38:44
			I will choose a law.

00:38:45 --> 00:38:47
			Because I know

00:38:48 --> 00:38:52
			that he would be more merciful to me than my parents.

00:38:53 --> 00:39:03
			Now, I asked you how many people if they were asked this question, or if they were given this
choice? How many people would answer it the same way?

00:39:04 --> 00:39:09
			Most people would choose their parents thinking that their parents

00:39:10 --> 00:39:12
			would be more merciful to them.

00:39:14 --> 00:39:16
			But know the setup, they had

00:39:18 --> 00:39:19
			this concept in their minds

00:39:21 --> 00:39:25
			of who Allah is, how did they know that through his names and his attributes?

00:39:27 --> 00:39:32
			And so it's the the attribute of Allah's mercy that defined for this

00:39:33 --> 00:39:35
			man cannot even sedima

00:39:36 --> 00:39:52
			it defined for him. That if I was given a chance or a choice between my parents and Allah, I would
choose Allah Subhana who would to Allah to question me on the Day of Judgment, because I know that
Allah will be far more merciful to me

00:39:54 --> 00:39:59
			than my parents. Where did he learn that from, from the many verses in the Quran that talks

00:40:00 --> 00:40:02
			Above was mercy from the many a hadith

00:40:03 --> 00:40:09
			where the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told us about the mercy of Allah Subhana, who was

00:40:12 --> 00:40:14
			and I'll conclude with a hadith

00:40:16 --> 00:40:20
			that once again mentions one of the attributes of a loss of Hannah who went to Hana

00:40:22 --> 00:40:24
			and this is a also a very famous Heidi,

00:40:28 --> 00:40:30
			that many of us don't really ponder over.

00:40:32 --> 00:40:35
			In this Hadith, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:40:36 --> 00:40:39
			describes to us a lot of attributes

00:40:41 --> 00:40:43
			of alpha of joy.

00:40:45 --> 00:40:48
			And so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he said,

00:40:50 --> 00:40:52
			Allah is more joyful.

00:40:54 --> 00:41:06
			At the repentance of someone when he turns to him in repentance, then what have you if he was riding
his camel in the wilderness,

00:41:07 --> 00:41:10
			and then his camel runs away from him,

00:41:12 --> 00:41:18
			carrying with it, his food and his drink. And so he loses all hope.

00:41:19 --> 00:41:24
			He loses hope and thinks that his camel will never return.

00:41:27 --> 00:41:29
			And for those of you who know the desert,

00:41:32 --> 00:41:33
			if you lose

00:41:34 --> 00:41:40
			your ride that has its food and its drink and everything in it, that's it.

00:41:41 --> 00:41:42
			That's it, you're gonna die.

00:41:44 --> 00:41:46
			In the middle of the desert, there's nowhere to go.

00:41:49 --> 00:41:54
			And so the prophet SAW Selim continued, he said, and so this man he comes to a tree

00:41:55 --> 00:41:59
			and he lies down under this tree.

00:42:01 --> 00:42:04
			Just waiting deaths, just waiting for death.

00:42:06 --> 00:42:09
			He has lost all hope in finding his camel.

00:42:11 --> 00:42:12
			Then,

00:42:13 --> 00:42:21
			while he is in this state of desperation, suddenly, suddenly

00:42:22 --> 00:42:25
			his camel is right there before him.

00:42:27 --> 00:42:31
			Suddenly, out of nowhere, his camel comes back.

00:42:32 --> 00:42:37
			The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says, and so he grabs a hold of his camel

00:42:38 --> 00:42:43
			and cries out from the depths of his joy. Oh Allah,

00:42:44 --> 00:42:47
			you are my servant, and I am your Lord.

00:42:50 --> 00:42:55
			Oh Allah, you are my servant, and I am your Lord, the prophet awesome. What did he say? He says this

00:42:57 --> 00:42:58
			as a slip of the tongue.

00:42:59 --> 00:43:04
			He says it by mistake, because of the intensity of his joy.

00:43:07 --> 00:43:24
			And so when people are in certain intense states, either intense joy or in intense sadness or
intense anger, they say things without realizing it. And that's what happened here. Now, the
question is, the question is,

00:43:27 --> 00:43:28
			what is so special

00:43:30 --> 00:43:31
			about

00:43:34 --> 00:43:36
			the person who repents to Allah,

00:43:38 --> 00:43:39
			such

00:43:40 --> 00:43:47
			that he earns this level of joy from Allah. Here the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:43:48 --> 00:43:49
			told us

00:43:50 --> 00:43:52
			of a scenario an example

00:43:55 --> 00:43:59
			of the severe joy that a person that one of us human beings has,

00:44:02 --> 00:44:03
			trying to show us

00:44:04 --> 00:44:10
			that Allah Subhana who attallah is even more joyous, is even more happier

00:44:11 --> 00:44:14
			than this man when he finds his camel.

00:44:17 --> 00:44:18
			So what's the secret here?

00:44:21 --> 00:44:21
			What is it

00:44:23 --> 00:44:26
			that makes the one who repents to Allah

00:44:27 --> 00:44:30
			to earn this joy from Allah subhanho wa Taala.

00:44:33 --> 00:44:35
			You can only learn about that.

00:44:38 --> 00:44:42
			When you get to know Allah subhanho wa Taala through his names and his attributes,

00:44:43 --> 00:44:44
			and a block Liam

00:44:45 --> 00:44:49
			in his book madatha Salah keen. He gives the answer to this question.

00:44:51 --> 00:44:53
			In immense detail.

00:44:54 --> 00:44:56
			pages upon pages.

00:44:57 --> 00:44:58
			He writes about this

00:45:00 --> 00:45:01
			He starts by saying

00:45:04 --> 00:45:06
			that imagine there was a person

00:45:08 --> 00:45:11
			who became a captive of the enemy.

00:45:14 --> 00:45:16
			And he's in the camps of the enemy.

00:45:18 --> 00:45:19
			And that's it.

00:45:21 --> 00:45:23
			He's either gonna face death,

00:45:24 --> 00:45:26
			or he's gonna become a slave or something's gonna happen.

00:45:29 --> 00:45:32
			But suddenly he finds a way to escape.

00:45:34 --> 00:45:35
			So he escapes.

00:45:36 --> 00:45:38
			And he comes fleeing,

00:45:39 --> 00:45:40
			running.

00:45:43 --> 00:45:45
			And so he says, He says

00:45:46 --> 00:45:47
			that this

00:45:49 --> 00:45:50
			is the state

00:45:52 --> 00:45:53
			of the son of Adam.

00:45:55 --> 00:45:57
			When he repents to Allah,

00:45:58 --> 00:46:03
			he was a captive, held in the prison of a police.

00:46:05 --> 00:46:12
			And then, when he committed those sins, and a police had him captive,

00:46:13 --> 00:46:17
			he lived this life of sin. Certainly,

00:46:18 --> 00:46:28
			he realizes his mistake, he awakens, and he manages to escape from his enemy to escape from that
captivity,

00:46:29 --> 00:46:35
			fleeing running away, but running to who, running to Allah subhana wa Tada.

00:46:36 --> 00:46:52
			So now imagine that if this captive was to flee and run back to his people, imagine the joy of the
people. Imagine the joy of his family, his wife, his children,

00:46:55 --> 00:46:58
			that he's come back, he's escaped from the enemy, he's back with us.

00:47:00 --> 00:47:02
			And so this is the joy of Allah subhana wa tada

00:47:04 --> 00:47:45
			when one of us sins, and then we turn back to Allah in repentance, sincere repentance, this is why a
lot of soldiers, this is why a lot becomes so happy, more happier. Then one of us who basically
fears death, like in this example, of the one who loses his camel, and then finally he finds it. And
he's so joyous, he's so happy about that. Allah is more happier than one of us. When we turn to
Allah in repentance, all of this My dear brothers and sisters, shows us what

00:47:46 --> 00:47:47
			it shows us

00:47:48 --> 00:47:50
			the importance

00:47:51 --> 00:47:52
			of

00:47:53 --> 00:47:54
			this knowledge,

00:47:55 --> 00:47:56
			this discipline

00:47:58 --> 00:48:02
			of the knowledge of Allah subhanahu wa tada

00:48:04 --> 00:48:07
			getting to know Allah subhanho wa Taala through what?

00:48:08 --> 00:48:43
			through what Allah subhana wa, tada himself told us about himself through his names, and his
attributes, what is the point of a loss of Hannah who attalla relating to us, all of these names and
these attributes in the Quran, through His Messenger sallallahu alayhi wasallam. What is the point
of it? The point of it, is for us to ponder over these names and attributes. So that we can get that
connection with Allah subhanho wa Taala getting to know him not just for the sake of the knowledge,

00:48:45 --> 00:48:45
			but

00:48:46 --> 00:48:55
			so that this knowledge, it transforms us, so that it changes us so that it changes who we become.

00:48:57 --> 00:49:04
			It changes as who we become, in the sight of Allah, first and foremost. And then who we become in
the sight of the people.

00:49:05 --> 00:49:10
			As long as we are accepted with a loss of Hannah who had to had, Allah will grant that acceptance

00:49:11 --> 00:49:12
			to the people.

00:49:13 --> 00:49:37
			And so all of this comes with getting to know Allah subhanho wa Taala. Through His names and his
attributes, ask Allah subhanahu wa tada to grant us that knowledge to grant us that knowledge that
leads to the fruits of action. Well, son in law, who was silnylon Amina Mohammed Ali, he was happy
he was selling them at

00:49:49 --> 00:49:51
			the brother just now gave me

00:49:54 --> 00:49:55
			several small books.

00:49:57 --> 00:49:59
			of the 99 Names of Allah Subhana who

00:50:00 --> 00:50:00
			Tyler

00:50:02 --> 00:50:03
			and he said this is

00:50:04 --> 00:50:06
			a gift for the children.

00:50:07 --> 00:50:09
			So all the kids come up here and take your copy
