Kamil Ahmad – Instilling Yaqeen: Lesson 2 – Proofs for Allah’s Existence
AI: Summary ©
The importance of belief in the existence of Allah's existence is foundational to Islam, and evidence is needed to support their claims. The speakers stress the need for evidence, including evidence for the natural position of individuals and their actions, and the importance of using rational arguments for scientific research. They also stress the need for more research to prove the existence of Allah's existence and the importance of using rational arguments for scientific research.

Bismillah R Rahman r Rahim
hamdu Lillahi Rabbil aalameen
wa salatu salam ala milania Allah, Allah He
will early he will be the woman that we heard he was sending a b suniti he Illa yo Medina madad Salaam Alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
Today we move on to
the first
the first aspect of a class instilling again.
And that is looking at
proofs for the existence of Allah subhanho wa Taala.
And before we actually get into
the proofs,
it's important to remember that
affirmation of the existence of Allah subhanho wa Taala
is the very foundation at the very core of Islam.
And any religion for that matter, that believes in the oneness of Allah Subhana, WA Tada.
All other beliefs
come and follow it.
And so,
for example, a person cannot believe in the oneness of Allah subhanho wa Taala.
Unless he believes obviously, in the existence of him,
a person can't believe in
the messengers
and in the revelations that came to them, unless he believes that it was a law who sent them.
And obviously, he has to believe that a law exists.
A person can't believe in life after death,
and the resurrection, and the last day,
unless he believes in the existence of Allah subhanho wa Taala. So, you can't believe in any of the foundational aspects of Islam.
Unless and until you first believe in
the existence of Allah subhanho wa Taala. As such belief in a laws existence is foundational
to Islam.
It is the very basis and the foundation. And it's so foundational.
And it's so obvious
that it's not something that actually requires
any specific Debate
or discussion. Or, you know,
proofs and evidences.
And this point is very, very important to remember before continuing.
And that's because the atheists of today they want they want to make it seem as if
and I mentioned this last week, as if denying the existence of a loss of Hannah who attended that is
the natural position.
They want you to believe that the natural position is
that there is no creator
and there is
no basis for them.
How do they do that? Whenever you get into a discussion with them, they first put forward the question, Does God Exist?
And what are the evidence is to support this belief?
And then from that question
from that question,
they start off.
And the problem with this is
that we Muslim, sometimes
we end up on the defensive when this happens.
And
we start focusing on
trying to bring as many evidences and arguments as we can,
as if
we admitted and acknowledged
that this is something that requires debating
that this is something
that this is a question, a rational question, Does God exists? And what are the evidences to support
this belief, as if,
as if this is how we should start the discussion as if we should first don't the existence of a lot, then after that, let's look for
what are the evidences to prove that he exists.
And so,
what we have to actually be arguing
is
that we don't actually need evidence
for the existence of a loss of Hannah who want to hide. And so the question should not be
Does God Exist?
That shouldn't be the question that we started off from.
But rather, the question should be, what reasons Do we have to deny his existence?
What reasons are there to deny the existence of a loss of Hannah who were to hide? And so if you were to start the discussion, in this way, you would find
that when you're dealing with whether it be
affirmed atheists,
or whether it be people who are doubting the existence of Allah, you'll find that the reasons for rejecting or doubting
there exists existence have a lot to begin with. It has very little to do with evidence.
And it has more to do with other factors.
It usually has more to do with
other factors such as emotional issues,
such psychological issues, certain personal problems.
As for what is the evidence,
then
those who are looking for the evidence, they are few
those who believe that
it is the evidence that led me to deny the existence of Allah.
And that that's where all started from
they are very few.
And for most people,
it was certain other factors that led them
to start don't realize existence and then to become atheists. And this is something
that even many of famed
and big atheists acknowledge.
And so there's one atheist, who is a leading atheist of this past century,
of the past century,
by the name of Andrew flew,
who towards the end of his life, he changed and he became a believer in the existence of a law.
And he writes,
that this, that the problem of evil the problem of evil as one example, he says that the problem of evil
which is basically that how can a god exists, who's merciful who's
just, and yet there's suffering in the world.
He says that the problem of evil was what led him to atheists, atheism, and what has led the majority of atheists to become atheists.
That's where it all starts from
other factors, not evidence.
But
I'm not seeing here that we don't have good reasons or evidence is
to believe in Allah's existence. That's not what I'm saying here.
Of course we do. And that's why, you know, that's exactly what we're going to be talking about today.
But the point is that we don't require evidence.
We don't require any evidence for the existence of a lot. Why?
Because the existence of a loss of Hannah who went to Hana
is a self evident truth.
It is a self evident truth.
We have many self self evident truths in the world.
These truths are those things that you don't require your evidence to prove.
They are self evident.
For example,
does this world exist?
No one's gonna ask you prove to me that it exists.
No one's gonna ask such a question. What is the proof that this world exists? Why? Because the world existing is a self evident truth.
And this is why I've been able to call him
who was basically the student of
cheerfulness and he didn't taenia
it Look at him. He says,
I heard shithole Islam, even taymiyah say
How could evidence be requested to prove the existence of what everything in existence is evidence of.
And he often used to give the example from the following lines of poetry, either Trojan horse Isla de Lille
while a Sir, your social fill as well as a social fill attorney Shay
Isla de nothing in the minds can be true. If the day needs to be proven.
He goes on to say it is well known. It is well known that the existence of the Lord is more apparent to the mind and innate nature than the existence of the day. Whoever does not see that in his mind, and in his innate nature is fitrah. Then let him blame them. Let him blame his
deficient mind, and his clouded fitrah.
And so
if the existence of a loss of Hannah, who were to Ireland is a self evident truth,
that doesn't require any evidence,
any specific evidence to prove
then?
Why are we here today? And why are we going to sit down and talk about the proofs for last existence?
The answer is because
of the presence, the existence of opposition.
Meaning
that there exists people today who
deny the existence of Allah and present arguments for that, and are vocal about
it's only because of that, that now we need to sit down and say, Okay, so here are our are our responses to those arguments. Here are our evidences to affirm the existence of Allah subhana wa, Tada.
If the opposition never existed,
then there would be no need to talk about it. And that's why
if you were to look at Islamic literature,
the scholars
and their books, and the kinds of stuff that they have written in their books,
affirming beliefs,
and providing evidence for that,
and arguments and counter arguments, you find that they didn't really delve deeply into
the topic of the existence of a law.
They did talk about it, but not as deeply as they did about other issues. Even though what did we start off by saying
that affirmation of the existence of a lot is the very foundation
It's the very base, you can't move on to the other beliefs of Islam and affirm them and believe in them until you believed in that. But why is it that they spent a little time focusing on that, because that opposition didn't exist in their time.
The opposition where people are denying the existence of a lot
and presenting arguments for it.
It never existed throughout history. It was very few there did exist people. And we do find debates with some of the scholars of Islam with
with certain people who would argue that a lot does not exist, but they were few rare cases. They were few. And they were rare cases. And so
because of the fact that today,
atheism is on the rise,
and people are presenting arguments and evidence and proof for it.
That is why we need to now sit down and say, Here are our arguments. Here are the evidences that prove the existence of Allah subhanho wa Taala.
So I thought this is very, very important to mention, before actually
delving into the proofs for the existence of a loss of Hannah what.
Now,
the proofs for existence are many.
And
there are many that you can find in different books, but we're going to stick to
just three or four. And these are the main ones that we can look at, and they are the most widely used as well.
The first
the first proof is the fitrah.
And so, we mentioned that
the existence of a law is a self evident truth.
Why is it self evident? And why is it so obvious?
The answer is because of the fitrah.
Because of the fifth, the fifth row is basically an Arabic word that basically means the natural state
or the innate nature
or the innate disposition of human beings.
And it is this fifth or this innate nature
that basically recognizes a loss of Hannah who would tada
and recognizes the need
to worship Allah subhanahu wa tada alone.
It is the fitrah that recognizes
Allah subhana wa tada and obviously his existence
and it recognizes the need to worship Allah subhanahu wa Tada. Basically, it recognizes Allah's existence and the toe, he'd have a loss of Hannah, who, what. So, the argument of the fifth row can be used not only
for atheists, but also for who
for,
for the Missouri Kuhn.
So we said that the fitrah basically, it recognizes a lot of existence and it recognizes the tawheed of Allah, that Allah needs to be worshipped.
And we'll come
we'll come across evidence of that in the Quran.
Even taymiyah, he explains regarding the fitrah he says
that affirmation of a creator is firmly rooted in the hearts of all men.
It is from the binding necessities of their creation.
affirmation of a creator is firmly rooted in the hearts of all men.
And it is from the binding necessities of their creation.
Meaning,
just like a human being has has to have a heart in order to live. He has to have lungs in order to live.
Likewise, he has to have that filter in him.
Is something he was created with.
He was something he was created with.
And a loss of Hannah who attalla tells us about the fitrah in the Quran 13 was a hacker, lead, Dini hanifa citrato, la isla de Fatah, Nasser Alia. So be steadfast in faith in all, uprightness.
And then Allah describes that faith, the fitrah of Allah, which he has instilled in all people, the fitrah of Allah, which he has instilled within every single person.
So the filter is mentioned here in the Quran, Allah tells us that he created all of us upon the fitrah what is the fitrah it is recognition of Allah
that He
is the only creator who deserves to be worshipped.
And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam explained this fitrah further, he said, that every single child is born in a state of fitrah.
But it is the parents who make him into a Jew, who make him into a Christian, who make him into a fire worshiper.
And so,
Islam is also a part of the fitrah.
Islam
is also a part of the fitrah.
And what further proves the fitrah
that we all have a Phaedra recognizing Allah subhanho wa Taala within us
is that when we human beings are exposed to danger
when we're exposed to
a calamity or disaster, a disaster is about to fall upon us. We're on the brink of disaster.
It is that fifth rod that basically comes out and is a weekend
making a structure to Allah alone
and call him for help.
When we're in such a dangerous situation,
even if we claimed that our law does not exist,
even if we claim that Allah has partners.
Even if we set up partners with alone we used to worship these partners, these idols or whatever other false gods when it comes to that dangerous point in our lives, when we see death in front of us. We forget about all of that. And we turn to Allah alone, calling upon him for help.
And Allah has mentioned this in the
in more than one place Allah mentions
in an example here in Surah, Yunus, Allah subhanahu wa tada says, who led you say you can feel very well
had either quantum field full key was gonna be him very
well 30 who will be her job Atari henhouse, you will know during Cody McCann was one unknown Toby him. There I will la De La Hoya de la in nj 10 I mean, how'd he learn Hakuna in a Sharky dream. So here Allah subhanho wa Taala says, telling us about the state of the machinery. Khun
Allah says he is the one who enables you to travel through land and through sea.
And then it so happens that you are on ships at sea,
sailing with a nice wind
there are no problems.
Suddenly, the ships are overcome by a stormy wind.
And those onboard they find themselves emerged in waves.
And so they think that that's it.
They're going to be destroyed. They're doomed. They think they're gonna drown. It is at that point that they cry out to a loss of Hannah who went to Ohio alone, sincerely.
If you save us from this, we will certainly be grateful. And then in the next area,
a law tells us that he sees them.
Philomena
Naja Hamid Albury Fela angelholm either homie
Hoon I feel utterly useless?
Then when we save them,
and they go back to land, they go back to their idol worship.
And so this proof is like I said,
for not only the machinery cool, even though this AI and other is
talking about how human beings call upon a lot alone and forget about their idols.
This is concerning them shikun, obviously, but it can also be used for atheists.
And there have been cases where atheists
when they're on the brink of destruction,
and they think that's it, I'm gonna die.
They do call out to Allah subhanho wa Taala.
What is it? Where does that come from?
That comes from the theater.
And so we turn to Allah subhanho wa Taala in such situations, because there's something deep down inside us,
ingrained inside every single human being telling us that there does not exist any power.
For me, that's it, I have no power to save myself.
But there is a power that can save me.
And that power
is the power beyond
this universe beyond this created universe,
who created it in the first place? And that is the power of Allah Subhana. Who, what data.
And so these are the evidences for the fifth row.
Besides that, there are also new studies that are proving the existence of this fitrah within us.
Even though for us,
we don't really we're not really concerned, whether there is
scientific research, to prove our beliefs or not.
Because as we will discuss later on, when we look at the nature of evidence,
when we look at what constitutes evidence, and what doesn't, we're going to talk about this later on.
When we talk about that, you're going to see that
the realm of science
is has its own, has its own realm and its own scope that it that it deals with.
And as for
the realm of religion,
then it has its own set of evidences.
And so
scientific evidence is for what
it's for, what we human beings can sense and observe.
A loss of Hannah who went to Hannah is not part of that observable universe.
So scientific evidence automatically,
you know, is out of the equation here. And we're going to talk about that more in detail when we come to it. But the point is, that
there is
research today
that proves that
the natural position of human beings is
to believe in the existence of Allah subhanho wa Taala.
And so there's a book written by
a professor by the name of Justin Barrett
called born believers,
the science of children's religious belief. And so he looked at the behavior and claims of children.
And what he found is that children believed in something called a natural religion.
And so this is the idea that there is a personal or a being that created the entire universe.
And that being obviously cannot be a human being, but rather, it must be
someone divine, someone supernatural, and he says in this book that if you were to leave
children on an island, to grow up,
just leave them without any external factors, changing their beliefs, they would grow up believing in the existence of a creator
and their
existence of Allah subhanahu wa.
And so if this was the case
that the fitrah is something real
and it's something that is embedded within us human beings,
then why do we have people who are denying the existence of Allah subhana wa tada
if this fitrah is real,
and it's something that can be proven, and it's something that Allah has spoken about in the Quran, and we believe it,
then why
do people exist? who deny the existence of Allah? subhanho? wa Taala?
Or even the machico? And why do they not worship Allah alone?
Why do people? Why do people adopt other religions?
The answer is in that Hadith.
What did the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam say?
He said that every single one of us is born upon the fifth row of Islam.
But then it is a parents
who make him into
a Christian or a Jew or whatever.
So basically, the answer is because the fifth route can become veiled.
It can become spoiled, it can become clouded by what, by external factors,
certain things that basically cause that fitpro to become derailed,
to become veiled, to become obscure.
And so this can include, as we see in the Hadeeth, parenting,
or society, or peer pressure,
or whatever a person reads,
whatever he's exposed to.
And so we're exposed to different things. We're exposed to different beliefs. Whatever we are exposed to
this, it grows and then it clouds that fitrah it veils that fitrah.
And so
that cloudiness that veil, it causes a person to no longer acknowledge the loss of Hannah Horta or to no longer acknowledge that Allah alone deserves to be worshipped without any partners.
And even taymiyah. He mentions that when the natural state and the fitrah of someone is altered,
that the person It is here that he may need now.
Some other evidences, some other proofs for the existence of a loss of Hannah, who, what.
And so this brings us back to the point we mentioned earlier, that we don't really need
evidence or proof for a lot of existence.
But when people's fitrah becomes changed,
when it becomes veiled, when it becomes obscure, cloudy, like it has today for so many people.
This is now when we need to
give them other evidences.
But even that it should be understood that
not everyone is the same. And we talked about this in the very, very first class. We said that today's wave of
doubts concerning Islam,
what are the characteristics of it, is that
the people being affected are being affected for two different reasons.
One is a genuine belief,
a genuine
understanding
of seeking the truth.
And so some people, they think this is where the evidence is leading.
And so they've studied and examined the evidences.
And they said that it seems that you know, this is stronger in evidence. So that's one group of people, the other group of people and so this first group of people,
it is for these people, where we need now other evidences.
It is for these people, where we now need other evidences
to prove to them that existence
Loss of
the other group are those who don't really have a genuine belief.
And as we mentioned earlier, it wasn't the evidence
that led them to where they are.
But rather, it was personal issues.
It was certain experiences
that led them to deny Allah subhanho wa Taala. For some of them,
it was the burden
of the guilt of sins.
They're so attached to their life of sin.
And they're feeling guilty for it. And they're told that you have to be guilty.
And so to find a way out,
they say, let me just deny the the truth of religion.
And let me just deny the existence of Allah, I won't have to be guilty anymore. And this is the case for many people.
For many among our youth, this is what leads them down the path of atheism, or to start doubting the existence of Allah subhanahu wa Tada. The point is, for this group of people,
no set of evidences will change.
For these people, if you give them 1000 evidences,
they won't change Why? Because it wasn't evidence that led them down this path,
but rather it was something else
and so forth such people
you need to treat them in a different way.
Yes, their fifth row has become veiled. But by something else,
their fifth row has become veiled and derailed because of their Shadow Work.
Because of their lustful desires, not because of shoe hats,
not because of delts.
And so, each group of people needs to be dealt with, respectively.
And so, even taymiyah says,
concerning someone whose fitrah has become altered,
and how for such people we need to give them other evidences for the existence of Allah, He says, affirmation of a creator and His perfection
is innate. It's from the fifth row and it is necessary
with respect to one
whose fifth row remains intact.
Even though alongside such an affirmation, it has many other evidences for it as well.
And often when the fitrah is altered, many people may be in need of other such evidences.
So, when the fitrah becomes altered, when it becomes veiled when it becomes obscured, this is now when we, when we say okay, here are the other proofs for the existence of a loss of Hannah who what.
And so that brings us
that brings us to the next two evidences for existence.
And both of these
are based on rationality
or our human intellect.
And so, after the fifth row, we have human logic
allows you to prove
allows existence.
However, we need to understand here that
rational arguments and the human intellect our alcohol
Firstly,
it is not independent.
We don't use it independently on its own.
To find evidences,
whether it be for the existence of Allah or anything else.
The human intellect in and of itself.
We don't use it on its own independently
to give us proof for anything concerning Allah subhanho wa Taala or this deal,
but rather,
whatever logical, rational arguments we have
there based on what our
law has already told us
and we're going to see that as we cover these two, the next two proofs for a lot of existence.
Also, the second point is
that rational arguments they have to conform with,
with our Islamic athletes.
And so whatever rational arguments that we bring forward,
they should not
adopt premises that contradict Islamic athletes.
And it is from this perspective, that it is important to know that belief in Allah subhanho wa Taala
is not inferred from some kind of inductive or deductive or philosophical or scientific evidence,
even though there are people who do take that path.
And so for us
illogical existence doesn't come from an independent research using human logic
where we, you know,
have a whole bunch of arguments that are philosophical in nature
without any guidance from what Allah subhanahu wa tada has revealed.
And so, the whole purpose, the whole purpose of these rational arguments is that they act as a trigger
to wake up the fitrah
that's the only purpose of them
the only purpose of these rational arguments and using the alcohol
and common sense and simple human logic is to trigger to wake up that fitrah. So that it believes in Allah subhanahu wa tada and his existence.
And so, we have many rational arguments that we can use. And there are many logical arguments that different scholars have mentioned,
to prove the existence of Allah subhanho wa Taala.
But, what we will be mainly using are two main evidences that
we have many many proofs for from the Quran
that Allah subhanahu wa tada has mentioned,
and both of these are considered as logical
arguments or rational arguments.
And these two proofs are also the most widely used,
they are the most widely used
and
because of lack of time will not allow to begin on them next week. But basically,
In brief, the first of these proofs is
creation and existence,
which is known as a local eg ad
creation and basically coming into existence,
coming into existence.
And so, in brief,
what this proof states is, that nothing can come into existence except by a cause bringing it into existence.
Nothing can come into existence, except by a cause, to cause it to come into existence.
The second of these proofs is
precision and perfection,
precision and perfection.
And so, if you were to look at
everything in this creation,
whether it be in the heavens above, or whether it be in living beings,
we will find a certain
precision
and perfect system in place.
Where,
if this perfection was to be changed slightly
by
amount so small that it can even be calculated
that it wouldn't cause it would basically cause it would basically cause this universe to collapse number one. And number two,
it would cause life on earth to be impossible.
And so in brief, these are the two
proofs from the article
from rationality, and logic that we'll be looking at in detail. Next week be delighted.
So, so far, we've covered the first proof for a law's existence and that is the fitrah. And next week, we'll cover the next two proofs, creation and existence and
precision and perfection.
So, are there any questions
concerning what we have covered? so far?
Because basically, we mentioned certain self evident truths, like you know, this world exists for example,
and other self evident truths, right.
So,
the existence of Allah subhanho wa Taala
also comes comes under that category, how does it not?
How does it not?
Like I said, when we talk about
evidence and what constitutes evidence and epistemology,
that is when it will become clear, because, what do we consider as being evidence
for the Earth's existence for example, we have material evidence for right, what we human beings consensus and perceive and observe
for other truths,
there are other evidences
that are not material in nature, that are not observable in nature. So, that is what I actually meant when I said
the existence of a law is self evident. I didn't mean scientific evidence
or material evidence,
because if that was the case, then obviously our entire you know, our entire argument drops.
But when we talk about that in sha Allah, when we talk about what constitutes evidence,
what is our approach to epistemology?
Then it will become a bit more clear inshallah, hopefully, inshallah.
Are there any other questions?
Okay, inshallah we'll conclude here for today in sha Allah, and like I said, next week, we'll move on to
the next two proofs. Until then subhanak alone will be handed. A shadow La Ilaha Illa and still fuuka were two way
