A mother had a Salam Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
firstly, I remember last week we gave you guys an action item action item. So did anyone
Did anyone come with that today?
And you anyone
Okay, so the question was, what you were supposed to do is basically last week we spoke about
the dead heart and the live heart
and so we asked for what did we ask for?
Yeah, so the length of the life and the depth of the heart as I mentioned the Quran where is it mentioned in the Quran?
Yeah,
in order to baccarat Allah subhanho wa Taala says Hashem Allahu Allah glooby him. So, basically Allah sealed their hearts and this is mentioned in other places in the Quran as well.
The sealing of the hearts or the stamping of the hearts and yes, this refers to the depth of the heart. This refers to the depth of the heart. And this is basically the heart of the caffeine
the heart of the caffeine
whose heart is dead the end
You know, no Eman penetrates
any other or
yes, we'll call localu buena hola so to belcarra as well. They said Our hearts have become wrapped up. And so they you know are omitted or admitting themselves this refers we're referring to exactly
Benny slightly did use
any other ayat
Surah Al Ashraf will call the right knowledge Johanna McCarthy Romita Jr. will insulin globalive Kahuna Bihar. So, this refers to also the kuffaar
that you have hearts with which they cannot understand or perceive.
That's because their hearts
are get that's because their hearts are dead. Any other ayat?
Yeah, yeah, throughout the Quran, that's why you know, I want you to go and to
find these, if any, anyone from the sisters who did last week's assignment and one
Okay, so
last week was
we started with an introduction to the topic
of the heart, defining what the heart is
from
The Islamic
standpoint of view,
also, we looked at
the
meanings of the soul,
and our intellect,
because these are all related to one another, so the heart is related to the soul and the soul. And the heart also is related to our minds.
And so Allah subhanho wa Taala mentioned that it is our hearts with which we think.
And you know, the verse that we just mentioned, the home Kulu one lie of Kahuna Bihar they have hearts with which they cannot think or perceive with. So all of this proves that the hearts are the places with which we think from and perceive. And also, we spoke about the importance and significance of the heart, the importance and the significance of the heart and how there are two kinds of hearts, you have the physical organ, the bodily organ, that everyone knows about.
It is not that, that we are speaking about throughout these lectures.
But rather, it is the other kind of heart and that is the spiritual heart.
And what we spoke about last week was basically the importance of it, the significance of it, and how Allah subhanho wa Taala gave it much significance.
By mentioning it in so many different places in the Quran, we mentioned that approximately 130 to 140 different places, the heart has been mentioned in the Quran. So that alone should show us the importance of paying attention to, you know, cleaning that heart, making sure that it's healthy.
And, you know,
live with Eman.
After speaking about the significance of the heart, we spoke about the life and the death of the hearts. And so we mentioned that
the life and the death of the heart is not
related to
you know, blood flow
and blood flow stopping.
Therefore, the heart is dead. No. Yes. From the medical sense, of course, that's the definition of a dead heart. But we mentioned that that is not what
Allah subhanho wa Taala means when he mentioned
the living heart and the dead hearts.
But rather,
the life of the heart is related to Eman.
The life of the heart is related to Iman.
And so a heart that has Iman in it
and obedience to Allah and his messenger that is the living heart. And as for the dead heart, it is the heart that does not have Eman.
And so it is dead. So this is briefly what we covered last week. Today we move on to talk about
two things.
The first is the various kinds of hearts
and how we have generally three different kinds of hearts.
And then after talking about these three different kinds of hearts, we'll look at one of them.
We'll look at one of these hearts and mention
some of the characteristics of the heart. What are the characteristics
and traits that that particular heart has
and that we should focus on in order to have that heart. So we begin with the different kinds of hearts
as we mentioned,
the heart is something that is that has life and there has depth this is what he's what we spoke about last week. So since that is the case, we can classify the heart into three different categories into three different categories based on
the first is the sound heart.
Or we can also refer to it as the Healthy Hearts.
The sound heart or
the healthy heart which is referred to as
called a Salim
al called a saline.
The second
is the diseased heart,
the ill heart,
the sick heart
and called Al Marieb.
And the third is the dead heart
or also the hardened heart.
I'll call it we'll make it
so, what is the sound heart? What is the sound heart?
When we say called a Salim, this description of Saleem what does it mean? It means
yes, so, basically, when we say that something is Salim,
it means that it is safe from certain things
or that it is secure
from certain things.
This person's body is saline
it means that it is healthy, it is we can say it is free of illnesses it is free of defects.
This product
is saline
meaning that it is free of any defects.
So, the heart the sound heart and colobus Salim is that heart which is
secure or safe from
different things.
And so it is safe or secure from
every shower,
which is lustful desires, that oppose the commands and the prohibitions of Allah
that oppose the commands and prohibitions of Allah subhanho wa taala.
And so as to what are basically
our humanistic, lustful desires that which our human egos and our knifes,
it wants to fulfill its desires
so this is one thing that it is free of or one thing that it is safe from.
The other thing that it is safe from the sound heart is every Shubha
every doubts that would
basically obscure it
or go against what Allah subhanho wa Taala has informed us of.
So what are Shubo hat
Chabahar is singular of Shubho hotwater Shubo hat.
True will hat are basically the adults
that come to our minds
and our hearts concerning Allah subhanho wa Taala
concerning the deen of Allah Islam
and they are generally from shaitan
they are generally from shaitan so the sound heart
is saved from this as well.
So it's thinking process
and its mind is clean.
It has no objection to Allah or his commands
and we'll get into regarding these two things shallot and Shewhart later on.
Also a sound heart
it displays
or the sound heart it is also safe from it has also saved from
showing servitude to other than Allah subhanahu wa so like the brother mentioned schicke it is safe from sharing.
It is safe from displaying
servitude a little Budimir
to other than Allah subhanho wa taala.
Also,
the sound heart
is safe or secure from
Seeking judgment
of other than the messenger of allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
It is satisfied with what the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has judged with.
And it's deemed that the prophets of Salaam has come with
the sound heart.
It refers its judgment only to Allah and His messenger
and not anyone else.
So these are some of the things that the sound heart, we can say that it is safe from. And that's why it's called the sound heart, the safe heart, the secure heart.
Therefore, how does it reach this level? How does the heart reach
this level of safety and security.
It reaches it by loving Allah and seeking the ruling from Allah and His Messenger By showing fear
of Allah
by showing that it hopes for Allah subhanho wa Taala as reward
two very, very important things that we will discuss later on. When we get to a mellow Kulu
fear,
health and hope are Raja these are two things we'll we'll talk about in detail later on.
Also, it is the heart that has put its trust in Allah subhanho wa Taala to welcome
it reaches this level because it puts all of its matters in the hands of Allah subhanho wa Taala not in the hands of anyone else.
Also,
by turning to him subhanho wa Taala in repentance, this is the first step
to how you achieve that sound heart
by waking up and RIA realizing the reality of your sins, and then turning to Allah subhanho wa Taala in repentance.
But a true repentance is only that which
is only that which a person he feels remorse and regret. And he never goes back to those things again.
Also,
it is that heart which humbles itself.
Also it is that heart which prefers Allah subhanho wa Taala
and prefers what pleases Allah subhanho wa Taala over everything else over what he himself pleases, and desires. So all of these things are what make the heart to become sound. And these things we're going to talk about more in detail, as we promised later on towards the end of these classes, where we speak about the actions of the heart and all of these that we mentioned are, they are actions of the heart.
And so,
this is the reality of what is known as Abu dia,
servitude. And Obadiah is basically
that a person reaches
a stage where he becomes a true servant of Allah subhanho wa taala.
And
a true Abdullaev Allah subhanho wa taala.
And so the sound heart is that heart, which is free first and foremost from shake, associating partners with Allah subhanho wa taala.
And ship has many different forums, many different kinds.
There is the major ship
sociated partners with a lot in his worship, that takes the person out of Islam.
And then there is the minor ship
that doesn't take a person out of Islam but it is a major sin
also
the love
in this person's heart
and its reliance in Allah and turning to Allah in repentance, humbleness, fear and hope.
All of these things as we mentioned,
They are directed only to Allah subhanho wa taala. So when it loves, it only loves for the sake of Allah subhanho wa Taala
and when it hates, it only hates for the sake of Allah subhanahu wa taala
and we see this
examples of this in the lives of first and foremost prophets and messengers.
Look at Ibrahim Ali his salah,
and how
his how his relationship was was with his father was a mushrik.
He disassociated himself from his father
because of his love for Allah subhanho wa taala.
And so he preferred Allah subhanho wa Taala over
his own father.
And also we see this in the lives of the companions of the Prophet salallahu Alaihe Salam, how the sacrifice everything,
even their most beloved ones,
for the sake of Allah subhana wa Tada and so they prefer everything over they prefer the love of Allah. And what Allah pleases what Allah wants over,
over everyone else, over their love for everyone else, and over their own, their own pleasures, and their own tastes and their own lights.
But this alone does not suffice the individual until the heart
until the heart basically become safe and secure, from submitting to and going to anybody else besides the messenger of allah sallallahu alayhi wasallam.
And so this is how a person achieves
the true reality of the Shahada. We all know the shahada
that it contains of two pillars or two parts.
testifying to the Oneness of Allah firstly, and then secondly,
to the fact that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, what does that mean?
It means that in all your affairs, you turn to the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam, and make him your judge and everything following his rule following his way of life, and making him your role model in everything
that's why Allah subhanho wa Taala addressing the companions said yeah, you have
learned to cut the mu
they in a Yetta you learn
that Oh, you who believe? And remember that whenever Allah subhanho wa Taala addresses us
with
this address of ya, are you Hallelujah, Amen.
It's the best title that anyone can address you with.
Allah subhanho wa Taala is addressing us with this title of Eman.
Not calling us by any other name.
But it's as if Allah subhanho wa Taala is saying
all you who claim to believe
if you truly believe then do this.
And stay away from this. Because wherever you find in the Quran, yeah, you have your Avenue.
What comes after is either a command of Allah or a prohibition as a bit of acid.
That when you hear Yeah, or you hear Latina Amman who pay attention,
or you be heard semuc Pay attention.
Why? Because either you're about to be commanded with something or you're about to be forbidden from something.
And so, just like,
if you want to encourage someone to do something,
want to push him to do something, urge him to do something. You say, if you're truly a man, then you will do this.
If you're truly a man, then you will do this.
So
it's as if Allah subhanho wa Taala is saying to us every time he says, Yeah, are you 100 Dina Ave. It says if Allah is saying, if you are truly believers, then you will do this.
You would either do this or stay away from this. It's either a command or a prohibition. And so Allah says here yeah, you have led the unit
Hammer ruler to cut the muda yada yada he was
in the very beginning of Surah, two Hilda runs
the Surah, which was revealed,
to basically give us an entire guide on how
we should live with each other.
In our society, all the ad app related to how to keep a society upright. The very first thing that Allah subhanho wa Taala calls us to, is, do not put yourselves forward in front of Allah and His messenger.
That to cut the Moon Bay in a deli, yada, yada he was good. Don't put yourselves in front of Allah and His messenger. If you truly believe, then Allah and His messenger are sufficient for you. There is no need to turn anywhere else. The judgment of Allah and His Messenger, stick to that
there's nothing else out there in this world better than that.
So
the sound heart
is this heart.
It is this heart that loves Allah, and reaches the highest level of servitude and also
turning to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam for all of its affairs and for all of his judgment
Moreover, the sound heart does not become sound and safe until it is safe from five things.
And these are based on what we already discussed.
Shake
that basically nullifies Tauheed
be the one that goes against the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam.
As well, Shehu, that goes against the commands of Allah subhanho wa taala.
And as we mentioned,
a SHA two are basically our humanistic,
lustful desires that our humaneness wants to fulfill. Its base human desires. So Allah subhanho wa Taala
basically
commanded us with so many different things to control that knifes and it's Chihuahua.
So these commandments of Allah subhanho wa Taala
you know, do not commit Zina
do not steal,
lower your gaze
do not consume a Riba.
All of these are the commandments of Allah subhanho wa taala. Basically, in order
in order to control our shallot
in order to put a limit to it,
because if there was no limit to it,
then we would become like animals or worse.
And so the reality of ALLAH SubhanA, who had to hide or putting a limit to our human Shallot
is not in order to make our lives difficult.
Or
strict,
but rather
to control what needs to be controlled. And so Allah subhanahu wa taala created us and He knows us better than our own selves. And so what laws are better for us than what ALLAH SubhanA wa Tada has decided?
So these are the first three things shield that goes against so he'd be the guy that goes against sunnah.
A shahada goes against a command of Allah, and the forest is a ruffler that nullifies vicar
and Koffler is basically heedlessness.
Being heedless of Allah, being heedless of the commandments of Allah,
being heedless of death and what comes after death. Most people they live heedless lives
careless
not caring about these things.
And so this is the definition of a muffler.
So, the safe heart is the one that is safe from muffler that basically nullifies vicar, vicar is remembrance the remembrance of Allah the remembrance of the Acura
and the fifth and final thing is El Hawa that nullifies its loss
How're that nullifies a class al Hawa is basically our whims and desires.
An earlier class is basically
sincerity. So,
an example
An example is that you do certain things in order that Allah subhanahu wa Tada has made an act of ADA for example.
And this particular act is supposed to be done for the sake of Allah Allah.
But
you have certain
personal desires, whims
that you want to fulfill.
And so you don't make that a bad as sincerely for a lot but you make it for other people.
So, here how I entered your heart
and so you ended up in Korea, which is to perform an act of very badly for, not for Allah but for for others.
Finally, Allah subhanho wa Taala mentioned Colby Salim were in the Quran.
We mentioned it more than once last week
from the sisters anyone
I'll call a Salim. Allah mentions it in the in the Quran, Allah subhanho wa Taala mentioned the Quran
once where was that?
Come on
Sudha to Shuara.
Allah subhanho wa Taala said on the tongue of Ibrahim Ali salaam, yo mela Yun foreigner loon wala noon,
on the day in which
no wealth nor any children will benefit a person in lemon Attila Have you been selling except the only person who will benefit on that day is the one who comes on that day to Allah with an called asleep.
The Sound Health healthy hearts. And so Sallim
means being secure, being safe from all the aforementioned things that we discussed. So this is in brief, Al Culberson, we move on after that, to the dead heart.
The dead heart.
And it is basically the opposite of
the first heart that we mentioned. And this heart is basically that which contains no life.
It contains no life. And so it doesn't know Allah subhanahu wa taala and it doesn't worship Allah subhanho wa Taala
nor does it comply to the commandments of Allah subhanho wa Taala by doing what pleases Allah
and that which Allah loves.
Instead, it is a slave to its desires.
Its temptations
and its own personal pleasures, even if,
even if this all leads to the displeasure of Allah subhanho wa Taala and the anger of Allah subhanho wa Taala as long as this heart fulfills its cravings and it attains the dunya
and the pleasures of the dunya then he doesn't care if Allah is pleased or displeased.
So this is basically the dead heart. Therefore, it worships other than Allah subhanho wa Taala
it directs its love, its fear, its anger, its pleasure, displeasure,
glorification, and submission to other than Allah subhanho wa taala. And so when it loves, it loves for the sake of its base desires.
And when it hates, it hates for its sake, for the sake of its base desires, its human desires. If it gives,
it gives, for the sake of its desires.
If it withholds from giving anything, it will withhold for the sake of its base desires, and so its desires are more beloved
to him, or to her
than the pleasure of Allah subhanho wa Taala and this is why Allah subhanho wa Taala in the Quran referred
to such people as those who have taken their desires as their god that they worship.
Of a writer many tougher than ILA who Hawa
Don't you see the one who has taken
his desires his Hawa, as his as His deity as his ILA.
And this is mentioned in more than one place in the Quran
and Allah subhanho wa Taala describing this dead heart, Allah subhanho wa Taala says, Cavalli que Altova Allahu Allah Cooley can be Muhtar Kent Behringer.
Thus does Allah subhanahu wa Tada put a seal over every heart that
belongs to an arrogant tyrant.
And we mentioned the dead heart elsewhere the brother mentioned
the dead heart
in surah baqarah
and elsewhere
where Allah subhana wa Tada speaks of
the heart that has become sealed.
That basically,
no guidance can enter it.
Obviously, this refers to the heart of the cafe, who Allah subhanho wa Taala has not written for him to ever be guided.
Now the question is
the question is, then where is the justice of Allah subhanho wa taala. Some people might object say, How can Allah subhanahu wa taala put a seal over the hearts of people not allowing them to ever be guided?
So the answer to that is basically first of all, this is an objection to the other of Allah subhanahu wata
the sixth pillar of Eman that we're supposed to believe in.
And so the way to answer this is by saying that either one of two things, either this person received the guidance, he saw the light of Eman and the truth
of Islam, and the truth of the Quran. And then he turned his back when he turned away
like the kuffaar of Quraysh,
who even had the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam the best of mankind among them.
And they knew deep down inside, that what he came with was the truth.
But it was their arrogance
that led them to disbelief. And so as a result of their cover,
as a result of their arrogance, Allah subhanho wa Taala put a seal on their hearts.
As simple as that.
Or the other scenario is where a person hasn't received the message
or hasn't received it in
its true form, it may be blurred.
But Allah subhanahu wa taala knew
that such people would would never accept the truth, even if it was plain and clear to them.
So they wouldn't accept the guidance, even if all the ads were in front of them clear, as clear as a sun.
And so that's why Allah subhana wa Tada seals, the hearts of such people. And so they can never be guided by so this is the second kind of heart moving on to the third type. The third kind of heart. It is the diseased heart,
the diseased heart. And this heart is a heart that contains life.
It has life. But it also has a defect
also has a defect. And so the two previous hearts that we described, we had also spoken of last week, when we spoke about the life of the heart and the depth of the heart,
the life of the depth, the life of the heart,
is a heart that has Iman
and when a heart dies,
it is as we describe the heart of the calf that is dead.
But there's also another kind of heart and that is the diseased heart. And this comes under the first category.
It has life. It has life, but it also has a defect. And so it has two urges calling it
it has two urges that are calling it.
One leading it to the life to the perfect life of the heart and the other leading it to the depths of the heart.
And so it follows whichever of the two that is
More dominance,
that is more dominant for him. whichever of the two urges
of the two poles as if two sides are pulling it, one side is pulling it to
perfect life.
The life of Iman and the other is pulling it to the depths of the heart and that is Cofer.
And so it contains Love of Allah subhanho wa Taala
it has Eman it has love, it has insecurity for Allah.
And it has to what call reliance in Allah
and fear of Allah subhanahu, WA Tada all of these things it possesses, but only to the degree only to the degree that gives it life. Because we said it is a it is a heart that that is living
with Eman but to a certain degree
and also contains the love for its desires.
As mentioned, that was
the heart of the caffeine, the dead heart.
So it possesses
love for its desires, giving preference to its desires
and wanting to attain them.
And so it contains arrogance,
attachment to the dunya
wanting to achieve a certain status in the dunya
and so on and so forth.
To the degree
to the degree that doesn't
lead it to, to cover
so it's just within within the boundaries of EMA.
But you have these things that are pulling it
you have these things that are pulling. And so it is constantly being tried and tested by these two urges, one calling you to Allah to his messenger to the abode of the Acura and the other calling you to fulfill its desires in this dunya and so, it responds to the one it responds to the one that is closest and more dominating at that particular time.
And this is why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said that
the person who commits Zina
he does not commit Zina
while being a believer while having Iman
and the one who steals doesn't steal while he has Iman. Does that mean that Eman leaves his heart completely and he becomes a calf or not.
But it means what we just spoke about here
that Eman is still there.
But at that particular time when he's about to decide should I commit Zina, should I still should I commit this sin or not?
He has these two urges one that is urging him to commit the sin and the other that is telling him not to
reminding him to fear Allah
reminding him of the Acura and so on and so forth. So when he responds to the first call,
to fulfill to commit the sin,
and he ends up committing the sin, the Prophet SAW Selim said while it is committing that sin while the person is committing that sin, He is not described as a movement.
He is not described as a workman as a believer as a person of Eman. While he's committed that same. It doesn't mean that he has no Eman at all. No, the Eman is there.
But because he responded to that call and that urge, it says if he has no email
it's as if he has no email.
And so, these are basically the three types of hearts.
These are basically the three types of hearts that we have the sound healthy heart, the dead heart and the diseased heart.
The question is, does this relate to the cream? The cream is basically
the the devil that each one of us has that, you know urges us to to commit sin.
So
basically, that devil is from the gym. And he is a shaper. So he whispers to us to commit those sins. So yes.
It's as if
It's as if you know, that call is coming from his glory. But there's also other things that you don't make a person to
commit sin. You have the cream, you have the glitter and the glamour of the dunya as Allah mentions in the Quran
and you have
what else you have the enough's
enough that we're going to talk about right now. The knifes that is prone to evil
and so these three kinds of hearts are mentioned in the Quran
who knows where they're mentioned?
not explicitly, but from these verses we can deduce these three these three hearts and you will know.
Okay, basically in Surah to hatch,
Allah subhanahu Allah tells us in Surah Al Hajj, that he did not send any messenger except
that shaitan came and tried to
basically try to interfere with the revelation of Allah.
When they are selling amicably kami rasool Allah and abelian Illa either termina Alka shaitan V Omni yet the Allah says, We do not ascend before you any messenger or Prophet, except that when he spoke meaning when he recited the revelation shaitan through into it into that revelation,
some doubts, some misunderstandings trying to confuse the people. So Allah says, fayence Hola, Hoonah ulica shaytaan so my team Allahu Allah, but Allah abolishes what shaitan tries to throw in, then Allah makes his verses Perfect.
Well, la halimun Hakeem, then Allah says after that, and this is where we get the three hearts. Allah says
li Zhi Lama you Lucretia YUTAN fit in at a little arena of equilibrium Murad will see at equilibrium.
The whole purpose of this wide is Allah allow shaytaan to interfere with the revelation
Shouldn't you know Allah preserve the revelation so that this doesn't happen? Allah tells us a reason.
Allah allows that to happen so that he makes shaitan a fitna, he makes shaitan a fitna for the people, for who
for those whose hearts have a disease
and for those whose hearts are hardened.
So here we have
the first two are the dead heart, the hardened heart and the diseased heart.
And then Allah says in the next verse after that, Wali, Allah may Allah, Allah Allah, Allah who will help call me Rob beaker for me will be he
will be said to be Taylor who boom.
Allah says in the next verse after that, as for those who are given knowledge, the people of iman.
So Allah made this interference of shikon a fitna for two kinds of people.
Those whose hearts are diseased, and those whose hearts are dead, the heart and heart. And another reason why Allah allows this is so that those who have knowledge meaning that believers, they they may know that this is the truth from Allah.
And so, and so their hearts humbly submit to it.
So this shows us the submissive heart,
the sound heart.
And so,
similar to this, similar to this are the three kinds of knifes
the three kinds of souls, the three kinds of souls similar to the three kinds of hearts we have three kinds of souls.
What are the three kinds of souls each one is mentioned in a different verse in the Quran?
Who knows?
And
and
yes, so anyone else? The three kinds of knifes.
around the mountain is the same,
and the third
and the one
so, Allah subhanho wa Taala tells us in the Quran that there are three
kinds of knifes. What is what is this mean? Doesn't mean that
it doesn't mean that each human being has one of these three or does it mean that the soul interchanges between
between these three states we can say
the answer is a second.
So, basically our enough's sometimes it is like this. And sometimes it is like that.
So what are these three kinds of nerves The first is enough cell Amara b so,
the neffs that is prone to evil.
The person has basically allowed his knifes
to live
a life of an evil life a life of sin. So this is an absolute amount of Bisou Allah subhanaw taala says in enough Salah Amara to be su e. Ilana Rahim Allah be in Surah Yusuf Yusuf Ali Hassan says that indeed the soul, the neffs is inclined to evil
except those whom Allah has mercy upon, the second is a nurse elewana
enough's a lawanna which is the soul that blames itself
the soul that blames itself for what?
for not obeying Allah subhanho wa taala. And so Allah says Allah oxy Hmoob enough Salah wham
a lot swears by this kind of so
the self accusing soul
the soul that when it commits a sin it realizes the wrong that it did and so it blames himself.
And the third kind of neffs is enough's URL motorman inner, the soul that is complete peace and tranquility yada yada yada yada enough. So most of our inner all soul that is at peace and, and
tranquility energy, Viki, Ravi attend Medallia.
So,
these are basically the three kinds of neffs
they correspond with the three kinds of the three kinds of hearts.
Finally, to conclude this topic of the three kinds of hearts
the Companions, they divided the hearts into a different kind of categorization. And so we have Khalifa Italia man who said that the hearts are a four types of data YBNL the amount or the Allahu him, he said that the hearts are four types. The first the heart that has solely been illuminated by a blazing torch, the heart that has solely been illuminated by a torch, and it is the heart of the believer.
And as we mentioned last week,
Allah subhanho wa Taala describes in the Quran Eman with two things with life and light
with life and liked.
The second day February a man says the heart that is encased
it is encased it is basically sealed in in a case. And he says this is the heart of the disbeliever.
The third is the heart that is inverted, upside down,
flipped. And he says it is the heart of the munafo, the hypocrites he knew and then he rejected he saw only to become blind. So that's why his heart is upside down.
And the fourth is the heart that has two urges
an urge calling it to Eman and an urge calling it to hypocrisy. And so it belongs to the need that predominates. And so this is just like what we mentioned except that he also mentioned the heart of the hypocrite but we can add that to the heart of the cafe because the definition of a Munna effect is that his heart has covered but openly outwardly. His actions are that of the people of iman.
And so these are the three kinds of hearts.
Next, we move on to discuss the characteristics of one
of these hearts. And that is the first heart.
I'll call Briselli. Any questions before we move on?
Any questions?
Yeah.
Not the last one is a believer,
as we mentioned,
the heart that has two urges, one calling it to Eman and the other calling it to cover or as he says here, calling to hypocrisy
the neffs we mentioned last week
that it basically refers to the soul, the human soul, our human soul. And so in the Quran, Allah refers to as nerfs and also as a rule.
Now what is it exactly? You know, how can we describe it? Allah subhanho wa Taala tells us that
you know, addressing the process, salam, yes, Luna Canyon roof, they asked you about the row here.
But what is the law say, call,
call in a roll call, call your row human Emery rugby, that this is from the knowledge of my Lord, we don't have any knowledge about it. In general, all of these matters related to the world of the unseen. This is a realm and a world that
we have to believe in it, even though we can't see it. And even though we can never fully comprehend it, and understand it,
but exists. Without a doubt it exists. Because how do we know that exists? Because the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told us that he exists.
And we don't believe in him simply we don't believe in these matters of the world of the unseen simply because we are blind follower is no, because we know that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was a true messenger from Allah. And we have the evidences for that
type. So
the first heart is the most important heart for us to focus on. And that's because, you know, this is the heart that all of us want. This is the heart that we all want to basically
achieve. The sound hearts, the one that comes on the Day of Judgment,
to Allah subhanho wa taala, free from all of the things that we mentioned, free from sheer, free from innovations, free from following its desires, having completely submit itself to Allah subhanho wa Taala putting its base desires to the side and instead preferring over its own desires, the desires of ALLAH SubhanA wa
and so Allah subhanho wa Taala
in the beginning of Surah tool and file He gives us descriptions of the people of Eman
as if to say if you are a believer then this is what you should be Curtis characterized with.
This is these are the traits that you should have
enamel miuna levena either look your Allahu wa Gita.
Allah says here in the beginning of Surah
Al MFAT. Remember Surah told Antheil
was revealed concerning those
the spoils of war
that
you know, the Companions after the Battle of a name
they
their prize they they basically got a hold of a lot of booty of war.
And so the hearts was attached to it.
Everyone wanted a part of it.
But yet, Allah subhanahu wa taala does not.
From the beginning of sorbitol and fall, Allah doesn't get into that.
You know, how much is your share? How much is the share of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, how should we divide this? Know? Allah starts
the surah
by talking about what you believers should be what you should be characterized with how your heart should be, where should they be? Should they be attached to the dunya? Or
should they be attached to something else Allah says, reminding the believers of who they should be enamel noon, the believers are only those Alladhina era Luquillo Allahu wa Gita Kuru those who when
When Allah as mentioned,
their hearts become fearful.
Were either too late or too early him, too who's at home in
the second characteristic, when the verses of Allah are recited to them, their Eman increases while out of Bohemia teleca Loon The third characteristic and they put their trust and their reliance in Allah Subhana Allah Dena up Munna salata women, Narosa, Kedah whom you feel good, there are those who
perform they're somewhat establish their salawat and spend of what we have given to them.
So notice that ALLAH SubhanA, who were to Hana
puts emphasis on what's in the hearts.
What happens to the hearts when they hear of Allah when Allah has mentioned, their hearts tremble with fear. When the ayat the Quran is recited, it only increases them in Eman. And thirdly, they put their reliance in Allah this is all related to the heart, then after that Allah speaks about performing sola giving of our wealth, and so on and so forth.
And so these are some of the characteristics of the believers that Allah has mentioned. And so
the believer is basically alive while the calf head is dead, as we mentioned, the dead
is not commanded to pray too fast, and so on, until the spirit of iman is blown into his heart.
So when his heart comes to life with Eman, it becomes ready to receive the commandments of Allah, the prohibitions of Allah. Some people have it the other way around. They think that it doesn't matter how my heart is.
Instead,
let me perform my salah
let me fast in the month of Ramadan,
it starts with the heart and then after that, it moves on to the physical actions. And so,
the illnesses of the heart, the illnesses of the heart, they basically they all go back to two things as we mentioned, as we mentioned, what are these two things
should whoo hat and shall Hawaiians
the doubts that come to our minds regarding Allah, regarding the deen of Allah subhanho, wa, Taala
and shalhevet, which are basically the lustful,
human
desires that we want to fulfill.
And so the sound heart that will be saved on the Day of Judgment, it is the one that has been saved from the diseases of Shewhart and Chawan.
And we are all tried with these two things in our lives.
We are all tested with the with these two things. And Allah subhanahu wa taala wants us to take control
of our knifes so that
you know, our hearts are secure
from these two things from these two evils.
And so
the sound heart is the one that has submitted completely to the commandments of Allah subhanho wa taala. And so there is no longer any opposition to the commands of Allah and fulfilling the commands of Allah.
And so it doesn't follow its Shabbat
because it has submitted to the commands of Allah subhanho wa Taala and
it doesn't object to what Allah has informed us.
And so, it is free from Shewhart so that we can understand this more clearly.
A person who has doubts concerning ALLAH SubhanA wa Tada some people, they start questioning, does Allah exist? Does he not exist? Or concerning certain attributes of Allah? Is Allah really merciful? Will Allah really punish us?
And so on and so forth? Or about the religion of Islam? is Islam really the truth? Is it not? These are
the whisperings of shaytaan that come to our mind.
And so a person who has
a sound heart, he doesn't allow these whisperings to enter his heart.
He doesn't allow it to happen to begin with.
That's why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told us
For the record, there will come a time when shaitan will come to one of you and he will say, Who created such and such?
The heavens, the earth, Who created such and such, you will say Allah until he says, then who created a lot. So this is an example of Shewhart.
So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam told us when that happens, seek refuge in Allah from shaitan. And stop these thoughts,
avoid them, ignore them, and seek refuge in Allah from shaitan. Why because he is the source of these thoughts. So the one who does that he has protected his heart, from Shewhart.
As for shallot
than a person, he protects his limbs,
his body parts from falling into haram.
And they are the lustful desires. Why? Because he has submitted to the commandments of Allah and His prohibitions. That's it, as long as Allah subhanho wa Taala has commanded me, then I'm going to stop and not pursue my base desires. An example of this is the companions.
And we have many examples from the lives of the companions, where they submitted.
Both
they submitted to avoiding Shewhart and Shaohua. An example of shoes of Shabbat is when the commandment came to the commandment or the prohibition of alcohol. We all know that it came in stages, but the final prohibition came. And Allah at the very end of that area, he said for * and Tom, winter horn, will you now refrain? That's it. Now the prohibition has come.
And so Allah is asking, Will you now stop.
And so we know what happened, how the streets of Medina were filled with alcohol, how they threw it away. Remember, this was a society that was attached to alcohol.
They were very attached to it.
To the point where there's a story of, of some of the companions who were sitting in there, we're drinking.
And someone came with a news of the revelation.
And at the end of the ifl, and Tom winter Hoon, will you now then stop.
And one of them, he had the glass in his hand,
just about to reach his lips, he heard that idea. And he just built, he didn't even let it touch his lips.
Now, if that was one of us, we will make excuses.
You know, maybe that's not what's meant.
Maybe I can take that last sip. But no, look at the companions. This is an example of someone who has submitted to the commands of Allah subhanho wa taala, putting it above his own personal desires.
And so Allah subhanho wa Taala is the only goal of such an individual. He doesn't want anything besides Allah, and submission to Allah and His commandments. And so there's no Shubha there's no doubt that comes to him. And believing in what Allah has informed us about himself or about this team, except that he submits to it, nor is there any Shaha
that comes between him and pursuing the pleasure of Allah subhana who went to Allah and so, when this happens, the heart it becomes sound, it becomes that carbon saline.
And when this happens, basically, the heart is given life.
It has given light it is it is basically given a cure of every every every spiritual disease.
It has been guided
and it achieves tranquility.
All of these things are achieved when the heart becomes a callable Saleem.
Finally, in conclusion, it will take him he mentioned
eight signs
of
the Healthy Hearts or
I'll call was Salim.
will try to mention these very very quickly.
The first is
that one considers himself as belonging to the accurate and not this world. These are the signs of the sound healthy hearts. One considers himself as belonging to the accurate and not to this world. He is
A Stranger in this world anxious to reach his home in the afternoon. The second
is that one continues to be upset with himself anytime he commits a sin until he finally and completely repents to Allah subhanho wa taala.
Thirdly,
one is more upset
and unhappy if he misses his daily recitation of the Quran, and vicar more than if he had lost his wealth.
Fourth, one finds greater pleasure worshiping Allah than any pleasure in eating and drinking
fifthly one's worries and concerns about this dunya leave him
whenever he begins his salah.
Number six, ones only concern and worries are about Allah and doing the deeds only for the sake of Allah. A reminder about its loss.
Number seven, one is more concerned
and stingy about wasting time than a greedy person
is concerned and stingy about his wealth.
And finally, one is more concerned about how correct his good deeds are. His very bad there is then the performance of the deeds themselves. Meaning he's more concerned with making sure that it is in line with how the Prophet salallahu Alaihe Salam has taught us so he's more concerned about quality of the data, then quantity.
And so these are some of the signs of a sound heart will conclude here. And so I ask ALLAH SubhanA what data to
allow us to have this heart and to meet him on that day with this Alban Salim
Subhana Allah who will be Hambrick ash how to Allah Allah, Allah and Sophie Roca were to breathe
