			Night
		

			in the month of Ramadan, ever stands at night in prayer in the month of the month of Ramadan. Imam

			So Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has given us a very high goal when it comes to playing at
night in Ramadan, and that is to work towards ourselves being forgiven.
		

			Unfortunately, we often get caught up in arguments and fighting disunity when it comes to the night
prayer.
		

			So, what I hope to do today inshallah is to clarify a bit about the history and the tip of the night
Korea of Ramadan said we can learn to understand one another, and learn to accept and tolerate the
different opinions that exist on this.
		

			Because the night prayer should not be a time when we argue with each other, our hungry rocket we

			Now, one of the things that that makes it difficult to track the history of this is that the word we
use today that while we was not used by the Prophet sallallahu, alayhi wasallam, or the Sahaba, or
the web, or almost anybody in the first three generations of Islam, he was only in the late second
early third century that the word that we weren't invented. So it's very difficult to go back and
see what did you What did the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam and the Sahaba do or say about the
Ravi Salah because they never used the word Dharavi. Instead, you will find certain terms being used
interchangeably amongst the early Muslims. Terms like the AMOLED iamu Chakra Ramadan, standing at

interchangeably in early Islam. And even the word Witter was used interchangeably when beyond the

			or 11 records of wisdom. Now when you read the explanations, explanations say he played eight
records of the 103 records.
		

			So why did they say 11 in regard to return because these words were used interchangeably amongst
Muslims in have the set definitions that they have today. Understand that the definitions of
terminology was something that came later in our history. In early Islam, things were a lot more
flexible. So what do we know from the life of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam about the night
prayers of Ramadan. We know that Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to pray the nitrates
are out there. And he sunnah at that time or throughout his life, according to Aisha Rockhill. Anna

more people come up the next day. Now imagine putting behind Rasulullah for rowdiness. Imagine what
the crowd would be like the next night. So the next day the Hadith says there was double the amount
of people in the masjid. And the night after you got even more. By the fourth or fifth night. The
Prophets was stopped coming out
		

			have in house. He's continued playing his night prayer in his house. And even though people were
waiting for him the machine did not come out to pray with the people in the masjid. So the next day,
so the Sahaba asked him about this. And he said, according to the generation, that I was afraid that
if we're going to establish this every night, the prophet coming out everyone playing behind him in
congregation, I was afraid that this will now become obligatory upon that this will become an
obligatory prayer. Meaning in the sight of Rasulullah sallallahu wasallam crane and night the
Ramadan is not an obligation and leaving it out is not easy. It is enough religious, a sunnah is
		

			something that is rewarding but not obligatory. So for the rest of the life of Rasulullah sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam he would pray in his home and the Sahaba they will do the same summer training the
home so I would speak playing small groups scattered throughout the different massages, but everyone
would pay separately. Then what happened after that? So the type of Abu Bakr discontinued and the
type of Omar regular and he noticed that some people were starting to get lazy. When it comes to the
night day of Ramadan. Some people will praying at all and some people sometimes you go to the masjid
and be like 10 Different Jamaats in the masjid at the same time. You can imagine how confusing that
		

			would be for the recitation of the Quran 10 Different people are reciting at the same time. So he

practice was deliberate a few days. So why don't we do it so that there's not this, you know,

the masjid in each masjid, we have an Imam and people praying behind him at night after a sharp and
this became the night prayer of Ramadan and this became a consistent practice in the Ummah until
today. So, the tarawih as we know, it is something that the Prophet saw your Salam practice
		

			publicly, very little. But we can say he prayed at night, throughout his life. Right, but he was
done in private. And in the time of OMA, the practice of doing it in public in congregation became
normalized, and it remained normalized until today. But there's another side to the country's
history that that gets a bit more confusing, which is when Omar regular annual, had the Sahaba
praising Jamaat in the masjid. How many records did they pray? This is where it gets confusing,
because one Hadith says that they predate and this is in the mortar if you open the mortar of Imam

			but understand that those eight records were very, very low. And for a lot of people, they can't
stand for that long. So to make things easy for the people, they bring more records to show they
could be shorter records. Because if you are reciting one jewel of the Quran, over eight records, it
is a lot harder than reciting one Jews of the Quran over 20 records, because you're standing for
much longer periods of time. So to make things easy for the people, they increase the numbers of
regard to the more plagues and most such that and more sitting in between the records. As to why the
increase the 20 Nobody knows. Right? It just seems to be something that the Sahaba settled upon. And
		

			we know that what the Sahaba settled upon and agreed upon is good because the Prophet sallallahu
Sallam told us magma will never agree upon falsehood, and you will have to follow his sunnah and the
Sunnah of the Halacha Rafi and Omar Rajan, who was from the Calabar Rashidi, therefore, what he said
to the point is also sunnah, but the history doesn't end there. The next generation, they increase
the burden. So in the generation after the Sahaba, what will happen was in Makkah, in between every
four records of that are we they will make tawaf. So the people of Medina felt that the people of
Makkah getting more rewarding us, they bring 20 records from Nigeria, and you're making so many
		

			towels, so we need to do more. So as every foreigner class they will treat another forecast, so they

			when you want to, but there's no restriction on how much you pray. And the Sahaba understood this.
And so they all prayed according to what they were capable of doing. So hope this from understanding
this history, we gain a bit more tolerance to all the different opinions that exist in the Ummah on
this topic that yes, they are some must be the pre 20 and that is fine because that is what is the
hot button. And that is the default position of the Hanafi madhhab and the Sharpie must help. Right

the prophets of Allah only some never mentioned any number. He simply said whoever spends the nights
of Ramadan in Salah Allah will forgive distance. And in another week of watching the same IDC said
that whoever that is Allah has made fasting the days of Ramadan obligatory and praying at night

you pay as much as you can. And some of the scholars say the reason why they increase it to 20 is to
make it easier for people because some people will come late some people will leave early some
people can't stay for the whole thing. Some people have to work at night, some people are sick, some
		

			people have the need for emergencies. So we're having a long night prayer broken up over many
records, people can come and go and pray as much as we are able to. That is why you will increase
your 20 by the sahaba. So number one, the name doesn't matter what name you're calling number two,
the number of records it is according to your ability pray what you can I would push you number
three must use should have a set number of records in Masjid should add a set number of records why?
So people know what time to come and what time to expect to leave. Even if the Imam is coming in
every day. He's praying differently. One day he's praying a one day he's praying 20 You will know
		

			what time is going to start we don't know what time is going to end. It makes it very difficult for
the congregation to the Imam should have a set number of records. And that is why Omar Abdullah one
who has a set number of records for the demands of the masjid so people knew what time it begins and
what time it ends and what to expect. Right? Number four. Should you pray at home or should you pray
in the masjid? Because in the Hadith It is stated the Rasulullah sallallahu wasallam after he
stopped praying for the three the three nights he prayed in the masjid after the suffering at home

for bringing the drama. Again we find the difference of opinion. Even humble Imam Shafi Abu Hanifa
Devi have the opinion that there is more reward for playing in the masjid in Jamar, Mr. Malik, Mr.
Abu Yusuf and many others they will also have the opinion that is more reward to pray at home by
yourself. Because they say that is the Sunnah of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam my advice my
advice is whatever gives you more cushion, whatever gives you more concentration, that if you
		

			concentrate better in the masjid behind the Imam to pray it around in a mature behind the Imam. And
if you concentrate better and have a better quality, Salah when you're playing at home, by yourself
or with your family, then do that. Either way Allah was exempted from you, because the rules fought
for the night prayer is actually very, very flexible. And either way Allah will accept it. And my
final bit of advice, when it comes to the night prayer of Ramadan is do not fight about it. And
don't judge other people about the choices related to it. No, sometimes you see someone leaving the

even if there is an excuse you have to make God up straightaway. Right so it is a major central
mystery

the mercy for those who are unable to play by themselves. So let us not fight about these issues.
Let us not be judgmental about these issues. Let us instead focus on earning the mouthfeel of Allah
