What's up?
Good
morning,
Salam Alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh you listening to you listening to living Islam on radio and Sir, I'm your host smile calm coming to you live from the Durban studio. And today we have a very important topic. Today, we are going to be discussing the concept of the athlete, we are going to be focusing on the last day. And we are going to focus on living your life in a way that prepares you for the last day. This is a very, very important topic. And it's something that many people don't want to think about. Because it's scary. It's a scary topic to think about, and many people prefer to just forget about it.
But we're going to talk about why you can't and why you shouldn't, and why it's foolish to forget about this topic. So the topic of discussion is the afterlife. And just to give you a heads up of what we're going to discuss today, we're going to look very briefly at a sutra related to the afterlife, which is Surah, Taka. So we're going to ask some very important questions, then we are going to dive into the whys. Why should we be focusing on the afterlife? I mean, we're living in this world. Why should we be focusing on the afterlife a very important Christian one that many people are asking these days, we are going to look at five reasons why you should be focusing on
your afterlife on your akhira today. And then in the second half of tonight's program. We are going to speak about how how do you prepare for the afterlife? And many of us know we should be preparing for the afterlife. But we're not too sure how do we go about doing it. So we're going to speak about seven ways in which you can prepare for the afterlife. And this is what loving Islam is all about. It is a practical show, we focus on the How to focus on the whys so you can live Islam so you can live a life that is focused on the obedience of Allah subhanho wa Taala. To begin, let's take a look at a surah in the Quran, which many of us recite very often. But how many of us reflect on its
meanings. And that is true at the castle.
Allah subhanho wa Taala in Surah, Taka so he gives us a very important message. And he tells us how Komodo castle hotel room will macabre.
And how can we break this down for you word by word. So you really understand what this verse is saying. The word castle in Arabic comes on the default pattern, which is people doing things with each other. The word the car kasara means to get more. The cash flow means getting more with others competing with others to get more. So this one word used in the Quran. The castle, it's a very large word in English is actually a sentence. It's not a word. But in Arabic is one word, the gospel. But if we had to translate this word into English, it's actually a full sentence. The Gospel can be translated as the competition to pile up the things of this world by the competition to get more.
That would be a simpler translation, the competition to get more of the dunya. So unhackme and Haku mean to destroy right or to be
be distracted, or to be caught up or to be caught in a zone. These are many different ways of translating a hack to sell Hakuna Matata castle, that sentence means that this competition to get more and more of the dunya. It is distracting you so very, very powerful for us that the competition to get more and more of this dunya is distracting you. Now what's so beautiful about this verse is Allah does not tell you what it's distracting you from.
So what is this competition, this competition that this verse is talking about is the rat race. Right? It's this life of just getting more money, more Jr. Better cars, better houses bid everything.
And only focusing on that all day and all night. This is the modern world this is materialism.
A lot of saying that this materialism is distracting you. From what? Here's the thing. People are distracted by materialism from different things. Some people are being distracted from their families. They're not neglecting their families. Others are being distracted from the solar did not bring the solar on time. Others are being distracted from the community. They're not helping or serving the community. Others are being distracted from their own spiritual development. They're not developing the enough they're not purifying the souls for each person, what they been distracted from may differ, but the cause of the distraction remains the same. And that is the castle
materialism directories, the competition to pile up the thing of the world is distracting our brothers and sisters, let us think about this. Does this verse apply to me? Am I from those people who are distracted by this dunya am I from those people who are neglecting something important because of my love of having more and more and more of this dunya
Allah Subhana Allah then continues in the next verse, and he tells us that Hakuna Matata castle had room to move from a podium, that this competition to pile up more and more of this world. It is going to distract you until you visit the graves, which most of the subsea scholars say means until you die until you visit the grave means until you die. Ally's wanting us he says listen, you are caught up in this world, you only focused on more and more and more dunya. And that's going to distract you from the more important things until you die until you die unless you wake up right now. Unless you pay heed to this verse of the Quran, unless you allow the message of Allah to
penetrate your heart.
You see, when people hear the Quran, there are two types of people. They are those who hear it, and they ignore it. And they are those who hear it and they act on it.
They just be of the second type. They just be of those people that when we hear the good and we act on what we are today, we listen to the gospel to the gospel. And we are the warning that this competition to pile up more and more of the junior is distracting us. It is distracting us
from obeying a law. It is distracting us from fulfilling his commandments. It is distracting us from being good Muslims from being good citizens from being honest workers from being good family members, because we only caught up in the dunya.
So the right thing to do, the wise thing to do is to pull yourself out of that distraction to pull yourself away from this rat race. Ask yourself the question. Where am I headed? in what direction? Is my life moving? What is my goal? What is the end? What is the end result of everything that I'm working towards? Am I just going to work and work and work and pile up more and more of the dunya until one day I have a heart attack and I put in the grave? And I've got nothing to show for it. Because that's the reality. That's going to happen one day, you and I are going to end up in graves and they are going to ask us about our lives. How do we spend it? Our youth? How did we spend it our
wealth? How did we earn it and how did we spend it? What are we going to answer? What are we going to answer to learn that day? Where are we headed? That's the big question. If you're headed down the wrong path, if you are ignoring the laws of Allah, if you are dealing in rebar so that you can make more and more of the dunya waging war with
That is we're dealing with in rebar is it's waging war with Allah as mentioned in the Quran. Do you think that's something we just got to get away with?
My brothers and sisters, let us think about this think very carefully about this question. This is a question that changes lives. This is a topic that changes lives. This is a topic that can make you a better person today can make me a better person today, if we take it seriously.
So Hakuna Matata, makabe that this competition is distracting you until you die?
The question is, what are you going to do about it? Are you going to let it keep distracting you? Or are you going to wake up? Today?
We're going to take our first break now. When we return, we will continue our discussion on materialism and how to deal with it and the era and how to prepare for it Don't go away. absolutely Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh you listening to live in Islam on radio ln Sir, I'm your host smile calm. Coming to you live from the Durban studio. And today we are talking about something very important something life changing something that can change the entire perspective from which you view and live your life. We are talking today about the afterlife. We are talking today about preparing for the accident before we went for the break, we asked a very important question and that question is all my brothers and sisters Where are you headed? What is your goal? What direction are you moving towards? Are we living lives of this obedience to Allah?
Just so we can satisfy our knifes? Or are we living lives, which will reflect on our scale of good deeds on the last day? This is something that we all need to seriously think about and ponder. What direction are we moving in? I want to bring to your attention a very important Hadees and this hadith it's amazing that the individual asking the question reminds me of many people today.
And the answer that Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam gives him is the kind of answer that people today need to heal.
So in this Hadees a man asks Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. matassa matassa When is the hour,
the hour This is one of the many names for
Last day for the Day of Judgment. So you asked the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, when is the our
question sound familiar? Those people are thinking 2000 is going to be the end. Those people think in 2012 is going to be the end. People want to know when? Right?
Look at Rasulullah sallallahu, the sun's response, his response to the man was, what have you prepared for it?
He responded to the question with a more important question.
This is something for us to think about. You see, when, when Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he asked a question, he gives the best response, because he was the best of creation. He was the Prophet of Allah. And he would give the response that was needed for everybody until the end of time. And so when the question was asked, When is the last day, the response is very clear, it doesn't matter when is the last day, it doesn't matter. Whether it's tomorrow, or next year, or 2000 years from now, or two 200 years from now, or 20,000 years from now, or 20 years of age doesn't matter. It doesn't matter at all.
All that matters. all that really matters, is what have you prepared for it. When that last day come because understand this much it will come without a doubt whether it takes a year or 1000 years, or 10,000 years it will come when it comes. It doesn't matter what year it was. All that matters is do you have good deeds to present to Allah?
What Oh spoke of is going to look like, which hand are we going to receive it in? is Allah going to forgive us for our sins? These are the things that matter. So the question that the Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa somebody replied with is, what have you prepared to it?
And that is my question today, brothers and sisters to you. And I don't think about this. What have you and I prepared for the afterlife? What have you and I prepared for the day of judgment?
Do we have good deeds?
Do we have Seneca Java? Do we have good deeds that will continue after we die?
Or do we just have a lot of people who are going to complain about us on the last day?
A lot of people who are going to say, Oh Allah, that person oppressed me, that person stole from me, that person deceived me.
Is that going to look good? on our scale or not?
So this is something we need to think very seriously about what have we prepared for the afterlife?
Now, you'll be wondering, why why why should I prepare for the afterlife? I mean, I'm enjoying my today I'm having a nice day. And now you come on the radio and you're giving me the scale the topic while preparing for the afterlife? Why should I worry about it? Well, I'm going to give you five reasons, five reasons why you should be preparing for the afterlife. Number one, it's inevitable. This is something that's definitely going to happen.
You know, we prepare for things that might happen. Nope, I might lose my job. I might go bankrupt, I might lose my car, I might have to move to another country. For all these things that might happen. We'll prepare in advance. We prepare in details for things that might happen.
apply that same logic, the day of judgment is not something that might happen, it's something that will happen. It will happen. So if you are preparing for things that might happen, why are you not preparing for that, which is definitely going to happen? It's illogical, that you know, this day is coming. And you know, you're not going to get a second chance after that day, and you still choose not to prepare.
You still choose to just do your own things.
Think about it. The second reason why we should be preparing for the afterlife, is because we don't know when we are going to die.
We don't.
There are people I know who died in their 20s who died in the teenage years. For the 30s.
There are people I know who live to the 90s who lived through the 80s there's really no way to know which of the two categories are in between you're going to be
do we really want to leave this to chance we know it's definitely going to happen. We definitely going to have to answer to all on the last day. Why don't we just leave this to chance. This is something that's the most important day ever. The single most important day of your entire existence.
Not talking about earthly
exist and I'm talking about your existence, this is the most important day of your existence
that we were created as souls. And then we are put into the wombs of our mothers. And then we are brought into this world for a few decades. And then you're going to go to the UK, the place where the souls of the dead reside, and then comes the most important day of our existence, the day of judgment, and then our soul will go to Paradise or * eternally. My question
is that you if we know this day is coming? And if we don't know when it is coming, then why? Why are we not preparing for it?
Why are we not preparing for it? This doesn't make any sense.
So my brothers and sisters, let us think about this. Let us think about how important the state is, understand that our final destination will be decided on that day. If we lived a life that is pleasing to Allah to the best of our abilities, I know you can't be perfect, I can't be perfect, I know that we just talking about doing your best. If we lived a life, of obedience to Allah, to the best of our abilities,
then on that day, let me Forgive us, we may have a good ending, and may have eternal joy. But if we waste our life away, only worried about knifes enough, semi enough satisfying that knifes doing whatever we want.
Then when that day comes,
when the day comes, we will have a lot to answer for.
So scary thought,
in the scary dog moving that whatever we see around us, from our fancy houses, to our beautiful families, to our businesses, it's all going to be gone one day is something people just don't want to think about.
But this is something we have to think about. Especially if we are moving in the wrong direction. It is better to think about it today. And change your life today. tend to realize this when it is too late.
Understand that the last day will definitely happen. And we don't know when will be our last day in this world. And it's going to be the most important day of your entire existence of your souls existence. And it's going to be the day
when your eternal and final destination will be decided.
So my brothers and sisters,
what have you prepared for it?
What have you and I prepared for the day when we meet our makeup?
The final reason why we should take this seriously why we should be preparing for the last day every day of our life.
is because we love Allah. Don't we love Allah? I mean,
we all say we love Allah.
If we love Allah, then don't we want to meet him? in the state in which he will be pleased with us?
Don't you want to meet him in a state where Allah wants to meet us?
Don't we want to meet Allah in a stage where we receive a book of deeds in our right hand? Don't we want to show him how much we love him? Don't you want to express that love? Allow me What's the point of seeing you love someone if you just obey a lot every corner?
I mean, how many of us say we love Islam we love Allah we love Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and then we this ob everything that they taught.
What kind of love is this?
That's not real love. This is verbal expressions. Real Love is when you try.
When you try your best to obey Allah subhana wa
schoenen brothers and sisters,
just think about this. Let's think about this and just focus on this. That if we truly love Allah, and we know we are going to have to answer to you on the last day. Let us not disappoint him. Let us live a life that Allah is pleased with. Let us live such lives that when we die, we want to die. When we die, we want to meet Allah. When we die. We want to show Allah what we did, and how much we loved him and how much we followed him in a day and age when people are becoming atheist. People are caught up in all kinds of immorality, and people are committing all kinds of sins that we chose in this day and age to obey Allah that we chose in this day and age to be good Muslims that we chose in
this day and age to focus on the afterlife when everybody else is just focused on the dunya
What up from those people who Allah will be pleased with on the last day
to be truly do. If you truly love Allah,
then the aka the last day and the meeting will Allah, it will be a priority for us.
Let's focus on that. Let us focus on the last day.
We're going to take our second break now. When we return, we will discuss seven things that you can do starting today. That if you do these seven things everyday insha Allah on the last day, we will have good deeds to show Allah subhanho wa Taala will have a book of deeds that will ensure that our forgiveness because again, we can't be perfect, but we can live such lives that earned the forgiveness of Allah subhanho wa Taala. So, let us focus on this list. Let us do this. We're going to take our second break. Now in return, we're going to focus on seven ways in how to prepare for the last day Don't go away. We'll be right back after this break.

Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh you listening to loving Islam? I'm Rachel Allen. Sir, I am your host, smile calm coming to you live from the Durban studio brothers and sisters, if you just tuned in very, very important topic. Today we are talking about the Day of Judgment. What have you done to prepare for it?
Where is your life headed? Are we from those people who are caught up in the castle in this competition for the dunya? until we die? Or are we from those people who are focused on the obedience of Allah?
We recall, when a man came to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam and asked him, when is the last day? The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam replied to the question of his own and he said, What have you prepared for it? And that is the theme of today's discussion. Brothers and sisters, what have you and I prepared for the last day? What have we done? Can we honestly say we've done enough to prepare for the last day? Now you may be asking, What do I do? How do I prepare for the last day? Well, that's what we're going to talk about. Now. Let's talk about how we can prepare for the last day. Let's start with a commitment to make a commitment right now. To obey Allah. To take to make a
commitment right now. To take Islam seriously. To learn our Deen to practice our Deen to obey Allah to the best of our abilities, and that every time we slip up, we make a mistake far We ask Allah for forgiveness, we make Toba and we try again.
Because yes, you're not going to be perfect. Yes, you're not going to be able to live a sinless life, from the time you are from outside till you die. No, you're going to make mistakes. But you need to make that commitment is every time you make a mistake, you're going to get back up. Every time you fall. You're going to try again. Every time you slip up, you're going to try harder.
Because this is what the believer does. The believer does not lose hope in the mercy of Allah, their belief
does not lose hope in the forgiveness of Allah. The believer keeps trying to make that commitment today. make that commitment today that I will obey Allah to the best of my ability. Make the commitment today that I will give up the Haram things in my life. Make the commitment today that I will live a life that is pleasing to my Creator.
For no one else except for Allah. That's why I do it.
That's where it starts. It starts with a commitment
for many people who are not born into Muslim families. That commitment comes in the form of the Shahada. There are people out there many, many people who I've met, they were born into homes, which were Christian, or atheist, or Jewish, or Hindu or many other different types of homes, and they found Islam. And then they said eyeshadow La ilaha illallah wa shawanda, Muhammad Rasulullah Allah, I bear witness that there is no god except Allah. And I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, that testimony that first put off Islam, that statement you made to enter into Islam, it is a commitment. It is a commitment to obey Allah and His messenger is a commitment to do Islam.
Islam is a verb, it means submission.
That when you take the Shahada, you are committing to submit to Allah my brothers and sisters, have we submitted to Allah?
Are we just Muslims by an angel, all the people who have truly submitted there was a lot tells us something local, and we obeyed when we read something in the Hadees we follow it, or we people who just want to do whatever we want to do, we just follow our naps.
So the first thing you can do, right, you're right now today, in order to prepare for the afterlife, is that you make a commitment today to obey Allah.
The second thing, and this is crucial, this is crucial that we want to have been prepared properly for the last day, then this is crucial that we pray five times a day, every single day of our life on time, pray the five daily Salah every day.
Understand from the Day of Judgment, on the last day that we are preparing for.
The first thing I was going to ask us about from all of our good deeds
is the five de de sola.
And he had these states that need the five daily sola are in order. Everything else will be in order.
But if the five data is solid, and not in order, someone wasn't praying five times a day, then the rest of the deeds would follow. Now why what's the link? The link is very simple. Making this commitment and sticking to it or praying five times every day. This is a commitment to submit to Allah. This is the practical manifestation of their commitment to obey Allah. If you are someone who makes the effort every day to pray five times a day, and you do it properly with sincerity, then this should have a ripple effect on the rest of your day and the rest of your deeds.
But if you don't even take the second pillar of Islam seriously, if you don't take the law seriously, what's the chance that we take the rest of the deen seriously. Therefore, on the last day, if the Salah is in order
is a good chance that the rest of our deeds are also in order.
But if the Salah is not in order, then there is a chance, a major chance that the rest of the deeds are in the same position.
So preparing for the last day.
One thing we have to do every day to prepare for the last day is to pray five times a day, every single day of our lives. We must make this commitment. And it's easiest to do it now you know why it's easy to do it now. Resistance is Africa. Because we entering winter in South Africa. budget is a 668 if you have to wake up at 2am you have to wake up at three 6am most of us are waking up at that time.
Some of us don't prefetcher even though we are awake. Why? Why would you do this? You believe in Allah. You believe in the five pillars of Islam. You believe budget is an obligation. It is virgin time and we still choose not to pray. Ask yourself why does that make any sense? Do you realize your life is contradicting your beliefs.
Make the commitment today pray five times a day on the last day. If you are from those people who pray five times a day then there is a good chance that the rest of your deeds will be in order as well.
The third thing that we can do to prepare for the last day is to be good to people. treat people well. Starting with your family, be good to your spouse, be good to your parents be good to your children, to your siblings, to your employer, to your employees, to your co workers, to your neighbors, to the people you meet on the street, be good to people.
On the last day, those people who were not good to people, even if they prayed, even if they fasted, they will have to face these people who the oppressed
is a Hadees in which the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam asked the Sahaba Do you know who the bankrupt person is the move this the bankrupt person.
And the sahaabah odilo, on whom they replied someone who's lost all his money, right? Because that's the word the definition of a bankrupt person.
But the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he gave us a spiritual definition of bankruptcy. Someone who is spiritually bankrupt. He said, The bankrupt person is the one who comes on that last day, with lots of sold out lots of fasting also Zico, lots of ibadah. But he has the big, but this is why you have to be good to people. But
he oppressed people, he hurt people, he lied to people, he stole from people. So for each person that he has, he will have to give them some of his good deeds. And if the amount of people he harmed is more than the amount of good deeds he has to offer, then
he would have to take some distance.
Think about this. from you, someone who prays five times a day, but you're not good to people. So for example, you pray five times a day, but you harm and oppress in abuse other people
understand the distance may come into your skin, or your good deeds may go into their skin, and you end up bankrupt, bankrupt, have good deeds on the last day.
Therefore, preparing for the last day is not just about the ibadah. It's not just about the acts of worship, it's about how you treat people as well. live a life of goodness. Treat people the same way you want them to treat you live a life. When the last day people want you to go to
dinner after your deeds, because you haven't harmed anyone. So no one can take your deeds
be from those people who when you die, people make do out for you, because of the good you did for them. Now for those people who say I'll see you on the last day and take your deeds because of how you harm them.
So we said that in preparing for the last day, it begins with a commitment right now, right here today, a commitment to obey Allah.
And it begins by praying five times a day because that's the first thing we'll be asked about on the last day.
And preparing for the last day is done by being good two people. Because those of us who are not good to people, on the last day, they will take our good deeds, and we will be given their sins and we'll be left bankrupt of good deeds.
So all of this is preparing for the last year understand Islam is a holistic way of living. We talk about living Islam, we are talking about every aspect of life is not just about a bada is not just about beliefs. It's about how you treat people. It's about how you do business, it's about everything. And that takes us to point number four, preparing for the afterlife. And that is when it comes to your business when it comes to your income when it comes to your food. When it comes to the things you sell the things you buy the way you make your money. Keep it halaal this is so important. On the last day Allah is gonna ask you two questions about your money and one of them is not how
much did you earn Allah doesn't care how much you want. That's not important. Whether you die a millionaire or you die a poor person that's not important. It's not how much you want. It's how how did you earn it? How did you spend it? Did you earn it any Halloween? Did you spend it in a gallery? This is what you and I are going to ask. This is what we are going to be asked on the last day are we preparing to answer that question?
Just take a moment
is our income Hello?
Are you buying halal meat with our money? Because guess what if you're buying halal meat would have more money that foods haram anyway. Right? If you are earning money to revert to interest to
haram dealings, no to stealing to oppressing people. If you are earning haram income
You go to your local butchery and buy Hello chickens with that heroine money, that food is still haram for you because you bought it with her money.
understand his brothers and sisters, what have we prepared for the question? How did you earn it? How did you spend it? Can we honestly answer that question with a good conscience?
So let us think about that.

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh you listen to living Islam on radio and Sir, I'm your host, Ismail conda. And this is the final segment for tonight's program. We have about 14 minutes left for the show. Today, we are talking about a very serious topic, a very important topic. And that is the topic of the afterlife. That is the top topic of what have we prepared for the last day. And this topic is serious. It's something that many people don't like to think about. It's something that's really, you know it. It requires us to be in a very serious state of mind and pulled out from this nuptse enjoyment that we tend to get caught up in. But it's something we have to think about
right now. Because we don't know, we don't know when we're going to leave this world. But we do know that we're going to have to leave this world and we do know we're going to have to answer to all of our detail. So it's up to us to take this seriously to understand that we are supposed to be Muslims, those people who have submitted to the Creator, those people who have chosen to obey the Creator, and we need to love Islam, we need to reflect this in our lifestyle. We need to live lives that show that we are Muslims.
We need to prepare for the afterlife and make a commitment right now to obey Allah. We can prepare for the afterlife by praying five times every day. Because that's the first thing you're going to be asked about on the last day about the five daily solo.
We prepare for the afterlife by being good people, be good people, treat people well. Every time you treat somebody badly, you are giving them some of your good deeds are taking some of these things into your head. And every time you treat people well, you are creating ripple effects of good in society and you are building up your scale of good deeds. On the last day. Being good to people is when winning and doing your henna hero. So why why wouldn't why wouldn't you want to be good to people? Doesn't make sense. I mean, you really shouldn't have lectures to tell people to be good to other people. That should be common sense. That should be something and every human being should
know that you should be good to people. But sadly we live in a time where we have to tell people
To be good to other people, because every day, we deal with situations where people are beating up their wives, but people are injuring their children when people are treating their workers when people are being racist when people are being oppressive. I mean, why? Why would you do that to another human being?
With our heart score? Do we actually need someone to tell us to be good?
When this is something that's ingrained in our fitrah is ingrained in our nature to be good to others. But sadly, we've reached a point in time where because of this greed for dunya that we think it's okay to oppress others in the process. It's not, it's never okay.
The fourth thing we spoke about, for preparing for the afterlife is to make sure that your earnings and your meat and your food is halal. And most of us are very serious about the food part. But let's get real. Let's talk about the earnings. Your Money is it holiday? Are you earning money? Which holiday is your business holiday? Because you want to be honest about it on the last day you don't want to be RT general question. You're gonna be asked what's your occupation? I was a teacher Okay, fine. No, you're going to be honest about every cent that you earned. Whether you earned it in the hallway so maybe your occupation was you a teacher you are
you know accountant, you are a businessman, whatever, but on the side you know you've got some haram business going on in the back you're going to be asked about that to every cent
so let's be real about this. This is something fairly serious. Many people wonder why they do what they do is not answered while they are earning haram understand that if you are earning haram and and nourishing your body with Haram, you're not gonna be answered. It starts with Hello. You keep it Hello, you get along your side you get Baraka, you get all your doors answered and you have the right answer on the last day when you are asked about your money and how did you earn it.
The first thing we can do, to prepare for the afterlife is to have sober
to have sober
and this comes over and over and over again in the Quran.
in circles, so, a lot helps tells us about how to prepare for the afterlife. He says that those who believe in do righteous deeds and help each other towards the truth and help each other to have supper in Surah Baqarah.
When talking about the deal does judgment allows one to feel a bus surety soybean give good news to those who have suffered, give good news to those who have sober.
What is sober, sober means many things. sober means when things go wrong, you are patient.
sober means when you are tempted to do evil, you control yourself, you have self restraint. sober means when you are feeling lazy to do good deeds, you still go ahead and do that good deed. Consistency, sober means you keep working towards that goal agenda, no matter what gets in your way. Persistence, perseverance, these are all meanings of the word server, Allah subhanaw. taala uses just one word in the Quran. But it means all of this,
that if we want to get to gender, if we want to pass that test on the last day, if you want to get that book of deeds in our right hands, then we have to live lives of patience, self control, consistency, and perseverance, lives of sober
the 17th or rather, the sixth thing that you can do,
to prepare for the last day
is to live a life in which you being good to yourself and everybody else that you deal with. live a life of paying it forward, of creating ripple effects of goodness. And you are good to people and bring joy to the lives of people. And in return, they do the same to others, and they do the same to others.
Think about this.
If you help somebody out of a difficult situation, and because of you helping that person, that person became a practicing Muslim, and they help somebody else. For every good deed they do, you get to reward and for them helping somebody else you get a copy of that reward. And that person they have the big become better people and they help others you get the reward as well, the ripple effects of good deeds. This is Allah's mercy and Baraka. That when you are good, the world is multiplied.
And that takes us to the final way to prepare for the last day. And that is to prepare not just with our lives but with our legacies as well too.
Prepare with what we leave behind because we will leave something behind, we can make it a choice that we leave behind only jr or we leave behind good deeds that will continue to grow on our scale after we die.
Because the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he has told us the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam stated that when a person dies, all of the deeds come to an end, except three,
that charity that continues to benefit people, knowledge that they thought that continues to benefit people, and their children who continue to make dua for them.
So if you really want to prepare for the last day, this has focused on these three things.
Number one,
that charity,
that charity
Are we leaving behind, you know, wealth, means of building our good deeds. You see, if you just leave your wealth behind in the studio,
and your bank account set in your inheritance, then it's going to pass on to other people, it's not going to benefit you. But if you invested in a Masjid, if you invested in Islamic Center, if you invest it in supporting
an orphanage, or an Islamic school, or something like that, which benefits and continues to benefit people after you die, then that wealth and that good deed, it will continue to grow and grow on your scale of good deeds long after you have left this world. It would be silly not to do something like that, when Allah has created such an amazing way for us to pile up good deeds,
even after we have died.
It's the same with knowledge
to teach somebody something good
and they benefit from it and practice it, you get the reward.
So why not leave behind knowledge? Leave behind knowledge that people can benefit from contribute to society, be from those people who are giving be from those people who leave behind knowledge that continues to benefit generations after them. Think about imagines Imam Bukhari imagine how much rewards he will get that even now 1100 years after his time, people are still studying his book, people are still practicing on what they read in his book, people are still benefiting from his book everyday, millions of people throughout history. Can you imagine
leaving this world 1100 years ago, but the good deed says keep just keep coming. Because you left behind a legacy of knowledge.
And the third thing, the third thing that you can do,
to make sure that your good deeds continue, even after you leave this world is to raise your children to be good Muslims.
And this is something that many of us are feeding us for some reason to be forgotten.
Have you forgotten that our children are in a manner? Allah has given us children and trust us as Muslim parents to teach them to do
that if we are just giving them dunya? We just giving them this world? And we don't care about whether they practice Islam or not. We're going to have to answer that for that on the last day. We will have to answer on the last day that these were your kids. You never taught them Islam you never bought divinity practice Islam. Why? You have to answer to Allah Why? Why didn't you teach me some the child may be asked by Allah. Why don't you pray?
He'll point to his parents and say they never prayed and they told me is not important. Can you imagine this? Just picture that this picture that you're standing in front of a lot on the last day? And a lot ask your child who grew up between adult? Why don't you get a job? And she says my father said he dropped out important. And they'll ask you, did you say he job is not important? Would you be able to answer alone that day?
Why don't we do this we said we are Muslims, we supposed to be submitting to Allah. Instead, we want to, we want to teach our children to disobey Allah and think we're going to get away with it. On the other hand, those parents,
those parents who taught their children, Islam, and they live this world, and it shouldn't continue to practice Islam and to benefit others and continue to make to offer them they are piling up good deeds upon good deeds in the afterlife, even if they left this world 2030 or 50 or 100 years ago.
So isn't it foolish for us not to raise our children islamically doesn't make any sense to do so.
My brothers and sisters they just wake up they just wake up
Make a commitment to be Allah.
Before a day comes when it's too late to do so.
Life
is a matter of choice.
Allah has put us on this earth to test us. It's up to you. You have the message, you know what is right? You know what is wrong? You know what is at stake. You know what the end result will be depending on which path you choose in life.
All you have to decide, is what to do with the time that is given to you.
All you have to decide, is right, you're right now, am I going to take this religion seriously and love Islam? Or am I just going to do whatever I want. With that we come to an end to another episode of loving Islam. This is Mel Condor signing off. I'll see you next week. Same time, same place. Remember the question of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, in which he told us and he asked us about the last day, what have you prepared for it? is Allah Herod was Salam Alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
