By the trouble of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
We have reached this Mubarak first of Jum'ah
of Ramadan.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
tested
us
and tested
his creation
and tested this with
some very difficult
and some very unique
circumstances in the past year.
Allah
have mercy on
our cousin
who is the imam over here, who also,
Allah
took him back into his mercy
through this, pandemic and coronavirus.
This is the first time I'm able to
come and visit this masjid after that. Allah
have mercy on him and upon all of
those who died
And in particular, those people who spent their
lives in the in the service of the
in the service of the in the service
of the in
the service of the Ummat Said Mohammed Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam.
Indeed, this is one of the reasons
that
the Rasul sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said that
whoever passes away in a pandemic passes away
as a shayim.
And the
when
writes that the one who dies of
plague
doesn't die Shahid just because he dies
or just because she dies.
Rather,
being a Shahid means what? Showing bravery in
the face of the enemy in the field
of battle.
The one who receives the reward of shahada
is who? The one who doesn't taktil and
run. The one who risks his life risks
her life in order to do their job,
in order to serve others, in order to
help others.
And there are so many people there are
so many people from our community
who suffered because of their help of other
people. Whether they be the imams and the
people who are making fitna in the house
of Allah, whether it be the doctors and
nurses, respiratory therapists,
or people who do even things that aren't
more simple but essential. Those are the ones
the writes for them, this because they didn't
tuck tail and run. They didn't just think
of themselves
and,
leave the rest of the community high and
dry. Allah
elevate their Makar.
Almost all of the masajid in Chicago
were closed for months
after the
lockdown order came from the pandemic.
Not just in Chicago, throughout this entire country
and through many nations of the world.
Now after 2 years coming and being able
to attend Salat al Ta'awi,
it gives a person a unique
understanding of what they were missing.
This is the habit of
insan,
that we take blessings for granted.
And after enjoying something for some time,
after praying for a particular job or praying
for a particular spouse or praying for a
particular house or a particular status or a
particular blessing from the blessings of Allah,
after a while we take those things for
granted.
This is the the the the nature of
the nafs.
And
the teachings of the deen are what? That
a person should always show shirkr to Allah
Always show shirkr to Allah ta'ala.
Rasulullah
is well known and known by those who
are here, but we remind because the reminder
benefits the believers.
That the Rasul Sallallahu Alaihi wa Salam.
He used to stand in salaf in the
night and tell his
2 Mubarak feet salallahu alaihi wa sallam would
swell.
The edema, the the the the swelling in
his feet, they would cause him to puff
up,
slightly.
Would ask him that you're the one
you're the one that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
already indeed?
Or Anne?
Already said that you have your
great station with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, which
is free of any blemish, free of any
reproach.
So why do you do this to yourself?
And he showed us
despite being Masoom, despite being divinely protected from
any form of error or any form of
sin with
He said what? He said to say that
should I not be,
a grateful servant?
Should I not be a grateful servant? The
one for whom everything is going perfectly, that
per that one, the one who's a good
person, the one who's doing things well, that
one should be even more grateful to Allah
because there are some blessings people have, they
have money, they have cars.
They have houses, they have jobs, they have
power,
They have beauty. They have ephemeral
blessings. Blessings that come and blessings that go.
Who's more blessed by Allah The one who
has blessings that come and blessings that go?
Or the one who has the blessing once
it comes into the hand, it never goes
away.
So the Rasul
taught us what?
That there are 2 ways a person can
learn
how much Allah has blessed them.
1
is by constantly remembering him and showing thanks,
and the second is by losing the blessing.
Because once a person loses a blessing
from 0 to
100 in one moment,
they realize
how great Allah Ta'ala's blessings were on them,
and they give that shukr to Allah
but it's
in pain
and it's in difficulty.
The lucky ones who go through that process
go through it in this world
so they can still rectify their accounts before
they meet Allah.
Otherwise, there are entire
there are entire nations of the earth.
They'll have that bitter realization on the day
of judgement when it's too late for them
to do anything about it.
And alhamdulillah, from alhamdulillah, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
allowed us to gather in the masajid once
more.
Sure, we're distanced,
Sure, we have masks on. And sure, there
are other concerns and difficulties and things that
make it different.
At the same time, it breaks the heart
to see those brothers who used to stand
shoulder to shoulder have to stand at some
distance.
It breaks the heart that otherwise the would
have said it's for a man to cover
his face during the salah, even for a
woman.
But we have to do it for
certain reasons.
It breaks the hard seeing in the Haramain
that the people are not packed and thrown
in,
making tawaf around the house of Allah
They're not thrown in in the message of
the messenger of Allah
making like they used to.
Whoever can make it to Madinah, Allah has
given them a great blessing.
And whoever cannot make it, it's the mercy
of Allah that he has the angels to
take the salat and salam of the people
from wherever they are, from whenever they are.
And they present them to the Rasulullah
from people by name, and he responds to
them, sallallahu
alaihi wa sallam.
The point is whatever it is, even if
it breaks the heart for a a person,
you know, they're not even having and complete
in the Haram and Shaitan.
They curtailed the 2, 10 rakahans. This is
their policy. I'm not here to comment on
it.
But the point is is what? There's a
blessing that we have that we can at
least pray our entire tawah. We we can
at least have our khatam of the Quran
in these places
that we didn't have from before.
And if we show sugar to Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala for these blessings,
It's possible that Allah
uses this lesson for the hearts of the
believers in order to not only restore the
blessing but to make it better than it
was from before because we took it for
granted that this thing would always be there.
And then we saw right in front of
our eyes
how quickly it can all be snatched.
And the greatest the greatest shukar a person
can make,
the most complete and the most perfect shukar
a person can make for this blessing is
what? Is to get there, to be there.
See the yellow spot on the carpet? That's
your spot. Get there.
If you cannot make it to this masjid
because you live somewhere else,
whichever masjid you can make it to, get
there. Because there are people in places in
the world who want to be there, who
are not allowed to be there. Some of
them because of lockdown and corona restrictions.
Some of them for other reasons, our brothers
and sisters
in Turkestan,
literally by the millions in Chinese concentration camps.
Oftentimes,
making those
those those goods, those consumer goods, electronics,
textiles
that we ourselves may be wearing, we have
no idea our brothers and sisters have
been forced to do this
at gunpoint.
They force them to eat pork. They force
them to drink alcohol.
They do all sorts of things to the
women, to the men, in order to demoralize
them, to dehumanize them, to take them away
from the deen.
They, of course, do not allow them to
fast. They take the children and separate them
away from the families.
Brothers and sisters, we have to show sugar
for what we have.
We have to show sugar for what we
have. That there was there is somebody right
now whose eyes are filled with tears and
whose heart is broken,
who would give whatever they have
in order to be at this yellow spot.
And we have we have to show sugar
to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. Is it enough?
No. There's an entire world
which is broken,
which Allah
sent this ummah in order to rectify.
That's a very big task.
That's a very big task. In order to
fulfill a big task, you need big help.
This is one of the reasons
Allah legislated. He gave these things. Imagine somebody
is going into battle, they have no weapon,
somebody hands them a weapon.
A person goes into battle, they have no
weapon. Somebody hands them a stick. It's better
than nothing.
Somebody hands them a spirit. It's better than
a stick. Somebody hands them a sword.
Somebody hands them something else.
What helps that person to achieve what they
need to achieve?
Rasulullah salallahu alayhi wa sallam said that duasilaf
and mummin.
The duas is what?
It's literally the arm armament of the believer.
You all know the hadith, the person who
sees
This part everybody understands. If a person sees
something evil, let them change it with their
hand.
And if they're not able to, then let
them change it with their speech.
Denounce it. Run a campaign.
Hashtag cancel. Big
corporations, big governments change their policies based on
that. That much everybody understands.
If a person is unable to do so
with their
hands or with their tongue, let them do
it with their heart.
Oftentimes, translators will translate this as let them
at least hate it with their heart. That's
not exactly what the hadith says. The hadith
literally says, let them change it with their
hand. And if they're not able to, then
with their tongue. And if they're not able
to, then with their heart.
Which means what?
The state that you keep inside of your
heart, it affects people around you.
It affects the rest of the creation.
Allah
made a system just like there's a water
system, the water evaporates, goes into the clouds,
it condenses, it rains. There's a whole cycle
in the system in the physical world. There's
also a cycle in the system in the
spiritual world.
That the person who can concentrate the of
their heart on something,
if that concentration is good, it causes good
in the world.
Other hearts entrain with that goodness, and they
get affected for the good.
And if there's something evil, if there's something
shameful inside that heart, it also
and makes it easy for them to behave
in an evil way or in a shameful
way, but, you Allah, Allah to be our
protection.
So see, before you pray this ju'ah, before
you pray your taraweed, inshaAllah, Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala, all of us don't feel. And I
know some people have to sleep, some people
are sick, some people have to work, some
people have to study, some people have exams.
I know that.
Before even talking about getting to the masjid
or not, in fact, it's more proper to
what? Look at the yellow spot
And say
from the depth of your heart for it.
And then thereafter, let that feeling carry you.
To the house of Allah
Let that feeling carry you
to give for the sake of Allah in
this Mubarak month of Ramadan.
It's so strange, like, the whole
I don't know how it is like over
here, but
I usually pray my and it's like a
circus of fundraising. It's so it's so quiet.
Nobody's fundraising this year.
Nobody's fundraising this year. Why? Because of all
of the the trauma that the phone has
gone through. All of these things have have,
like, frozen up.
I'm not asking you for money for any
particular cause. I'm just here,
because,
the brother, Reza, asked me to come and,
share a few words because I just moved
back to town from out of town.
So I'm not asking you for anybody, but
give for the sake of Allah.
Give give your your zakat, and after that
also keep giving.
That
Rasul was more generous in this month than
the,
than the the cool wind. And anyone who
spent time in the Badia before in the
desert knows what that feels like.
That it gives its grace and it gives
its comfort to everybody, humans, to animals, Muslim,
kafir, black, white, everything benefits from it. Give
like that.
Said
that every act in this month will be
rewarded as if it's a fard of act
and every fard of act will be rewarded
at 70 times its rate. This is a
deal you're not gonna get otherwise.
Don't let Ramadan be canceled because other people
may not be participating in it.
Who's the one who made Ramadan special?
The cable TV
company that's running a Ramadan special discount for
your 1st month of cable subscription.
I've actually seen a billboard of it, You've
probably seen it on the way to Bridgeview.
No.
Who makes Ramadan special? Your favorite halal restaurant
that runs a special catering deal?
Is it the little lights and the little
Ramadan
machines that the kids sing on? No. It's
none of that stuff.
Even if you were the only Muslim in
the entire world and nobody knew who is
Allah and who is universal
they will come like that.
That's the the the the scenario that will
be there when the day of judgment comes.
Even if a person should get to that
point.
Ramadan is special. Why? Because it was decreed
by Allah from above the and above the.
This is the problem from Allah
Let the people be happy about that.
It's better. It's it's better, and it has
more faith in it, has more goodness in
it than any
social or cultural
activity
or any
special food a person eats or song a
person sings or any of those things.
Brothers and sisters, Allah
in the beginning of the Quran,
the first night of
He said, if all when Allah said to
the angels, I'm going to place my Khalifa.
I'm going to place my representative.
I'm going to place my vice chair to
this earth.
They said, will you put some creation in
the earth
that will cause mischief,
wreak havoc,
and spill blood?
He said, I know something that you don't.
The entire world is hurting.
They need the ummah of the prophet sallallahu
alaihi wa sallam.
Allah
made this ummah gave this ummah the mandate,
and it's literally announced
in the first ayat of the Quran,
that the people of
La ilaha illallah,
They are the representatives of Allah
in the earth, and they're expected to do
something good with it.
The Chicago of ours, just yesterday, they released
a a video
of a police officer telling a 13 year
old boy to put his hands up.
And while he was putting his hands up,
he shot him.
There's problems.
Brothers and sisters, there's problems in this earth.
You don't have to look the to the
other side of the world. There's problems in
our neighborhood.
This country is going through problems.
This country has presented people with a choice.
You can either be a Nazi or you
can believe in 7 genders.
This is a completely ridiculous choice.
This is not the we laugh about it,
but these are real things people are going
through.
We laugh
we can laugh about it because we have
the line of guidance in front of us
in in order to show us, okay. Yes.
This is how you respect people without having
to drink the entire Kool Aid of whatever
nonsense they're trying to push. This is how
you can recycle
without,
you know, recycle and care for the earth.
Without what? Without treating animals better than you
treat human beings.
There's a that what he gives us in
order to show us how to do all
of these things.
It's a big job. We cannot fulfill that
big job except for through big help, and
that big help starts right here at this
yellow spot.
It starts with your salah. It starts with
your hearing and listening to the Quran, learning
the Quran, understanding the Quran. It starts with
your fasting. It starts with your worship
so that you can fill your heart with
life. When your heart fills with, there are
so many things that were impossible yesterday that
that today become possible.
Allah
give all of us so much.
Allah make it easy for us. Allah help
our brothers and sisters in other places around
the world, whoever they are, or even in
this locality, whoever they are, whatever
circumstances, sickness,
difficulty they're going through, Allah
give full reward to those who would have
loved to be on one of these yellow
spots, but were for whatever reason, were unable
to. Allah, subhanahu wa ta, join us with
them in this world and in the hereafter
as well. And Allah, make us give us
the honor and the
and the and the
in order to be the conduit of them
receiving help as well. Whoever they are, wherever
they are, whatever they are, as long as
Allah created them and commanded us to honor
them, Allah give us the the the honor
of being able to help them.
Take a couple of minutes to read soon
as, and then we'll have the Arabic of
the.
