			Bismillah R Rahman r Rahim Al hamdu lillah MAs. So that was salam ala Rasulillah AsSalamu Alaikum
Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh brothers and sisters and friends and welcome to the eighth episode of
Alvin hedges series, the shepherds wait. And the eighth timeless leadership lesson is enrolled,
don't control. What does this mean? It means don't try and control people by using your authority in
the wrong way. enroll people in your behavior, be that which you want others to become, in other
words, have integrity. Don't try and control people by imposing your authority in an inappropriate
way. This in fact is a sign of weakness, it's a sign of someone who has not taken leadership

00:00:55 --> 00:01:39
			seriously. Because true leadership is that you become you be that which you want others to become.
you enroll people in your behavior. In other words, you have integrity. And what does this mean?
This means that what you say is what you do, if you say chair, chair drops out of your mouth, from
the point of view that whatever you say, manifests itself, you are your word. You keep your word.
Your Word is your identity. You are trustworthy, you are sincere, you are a mirror. Remember the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said to me no miracle movement, the believer is a mirror of
another believer. If you see a blemish in the mirror, you don't wipe the mirror, you wipe yourself,

00:01:39 --> 00:02:16
			you be that which you want others to become. And being a mirror from this perspective is that you
are imbibing within yourself. certain key characteristics that you want others to adopt. For
example, if you want certainty, in people, you need to become certain you to display the certainty
you need to internalize a certainty because certainty gives rise to certainty. If you want people to
be compassionate, you need to be compassionate, because compassion gives rise to compassion. If you
want people to be passionate with regards to the vision and the strategy, then you need to be
passionate because passion gives birth to passion.

00:02:17 --> 00:02:36
			And this is summarized in the Quran with regards to integrity. When Allah subhana wa Tada says in
chapter 61, verse three, how despicable is it in the sight of Allah, that you say what you do not
do? And that is the key feature of integrity. Keep your word, what you say is what you do.

00:02:37 --> 00:02:51
			And from the perspective of enrolling people in our behavior, brothers and sisters, one of the
greatest examples, as you all know, is the example of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and
even the example of his family.

00:02:52 --> 00:03:37
			And I think you know, I'm going with this the famous story of his wife, on Salam. May Allah have
mercy on her, may Allah be pleased with her. Now the Prophet Sall Allahu Allahu wa salam, after the
treat of Libya. He said to his companions, stand, slow to your sacrifice and then shave your heads
but not a single person of them stood up. No, even after the prophets of Allah who it who was salam
Sallam repeated his command three times, then the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam approached on
Salama, may Allah be pleased with her and mentioned to her the treatment he received from the people
and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said that people have become destroyed, had it on selama

00:03:38 --> 00:04:01
			may Allah be pleased with her alma the reply. She said, Oh Prophet of ALLAH, do you want that? Go
out, then speak not a single word to anyone from them, until you slow to your sacrifice, and then
call your barber to shave your head. And once the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa salam took the advice
from his wife.

00:04:02 --> 00:04:04
			Once he did that, they all followed.

00:04:06 --> 00:04:49
			They began to shave one another's head, and they were so saddened for having first disobeyed the
prophets of Allah who it who was salam that they almost hurt one another, while shaving each other's
heads. What does this teach us? This teaches many things, first and foremost, the prophets of Allah
who it who has some consulted, he considered his family. He consulted his wound folk, he consulted
his beloved wives, our mothers, may Allah be pleased with him all. He also teaches us to enroll
people in our behavior. We do and we be that which we want others to do and become. This is a key
part of leadership. And this is a key part of the son of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.

00:04:49 --> 00:05:00
			Remember how you are as a leader will give rise to similar traits in the people that you are
leading. Passion give rise to passion, compassion,

00:05:00 --> 00:05:50
			Shouldn't gives birth to compassion. Certainty gives rise to certainty hard work, gives birth to
hard work, be a mirror, I will move you know murottal movement. Remember, if you're looking in the
mirror, and there's a blemish on the mirror, you don't wipe the mirror, you wipe yourself. So
brothers and sisters, this is the end of the eighth episode, and role. Don't control and role people
in your behavior be that which you want others to become. And remember brothers and sisters, we
experiencing these blessed days of bull hedger, where the reward of good deeds performed during
these days is greater than the reward of good deeds performed during the days of Ramadan. So please
