			Assalamu alaikum and a very warm welcome to the philosophy of fasting. The smell out of and Rahim Al
hamdu Lillahi Rabbil aalameen. All praise is due to Allah, peace and blessings be upon Muhammad as
less Prophet and Messenger. As always we have Dr. athermal al dad joining us in the studio. Salam
aleikum. Dr. Muhammad tonight. Well, thanks for joining us in the studio today.
		

			Well, Doctor, we're on a long journey together, discovering, you know, basically the virtues of
fasting. I want to take this time and opportunity today to talk about the virtues of fasting in
Ramadan. Now and the ethics behind the civically Ramadan because this is the holy month I

fasting in particular in Ramadan. However, if you may allow me to say that as we are talking about
the philosophy of fasting, okay, this is our main concern in this program, or the wisdom, the

addressing people who might be living in non Muslim societies, I would like to
		

			focus on this point, excellent.
		

			In our materialistic life, we have to understand a materialistic reason behind anything.
		

			And this is wrong.
		

			This is wrong. From an Islamic perspective.
		

			There is something called wisdom
		

			hikmah. And their wisdom is not necessarily to be a tangible, materialistic, of course, okay. Think
it might be a tangible materialistic issue that we understand it might not be. The issue is we are
commanded to follow Sharia, even if we do not see the materialistic benefit out of Sharia.
		

			That's true, but we should have confidence that anything in Sharia is going to benefit us in the
dunya. And in the afterlife. Or you'd like to make this clear for our brothers and sisters,
definitely. Anything in Sharia, anything you can think of
		

			has benefits in the dunya. And in the after, there might be just very, very few things that might be
related to Allah, that Allah Allah alone, and they might not be linked to the dunya. However, other
than that, anything in Sharia is not going to harm us in the dunya, or is useless in the dunya. Of
course, anything in Sharia gives us so many benefits in the dunya. But the issue is, we might not
understand those benefits. Dr. Latham, that is so true. Once again, I'm using my own experience
here. When I reverted to Islam, it didn't make sense to me. As you said, in a material world, we
have to have a material logic mind thinking, This is logical. When I reverted to Islam, it did not
		

			make sense. I accepted it because my art was for Allah. But I did not understand. But now it's
becoming clearer every single day. And this is a great point. So how do you think we can communicate
this to the the people in the West that's why we need to understand more about the philosophy of
Sharia. See, we need to understand more about philosophy on Sharia based on Quran and Sunnah. Not
based on
		

			what what some people wrongly interpret Quran and Sunnah. Yes. And we have to work our own glasses
as Muslims not to wear the glasses of the non Muslim Westerners because anyway, you are
		

			Asteron Muslim, so we are when we refer to Westerners, not necessarily non Muslims, not so we do not
need to wear the glasses of non Muslim Westerners, and look at Sharia from those angles. This is
very dangerous. Yes, I wrong. And unfortunately, so many Muslims these days, whether in the west or
in the even in the East, as we say, because of globalization, they are looking to Islam, by or
through the lenses of what non Muslims Exactly. And that's why they have a distorted understanding
of the Islam. Not only this, they want to be able to pass the message of Islam to Westerners,
because if we are changing Islam to become a Western, an Islamic or to to fit in an Islamic
		

			paradigm, then Westerners today will not see that this is something unique or this is something
extra, or there is something different in it. So why do they need to endorse it? Exactly what if
they see that this is a total different paradigm that fits into our nature is not alien to the
nature of human beings, then they will accept it? For sure. So see,
		

			we need to know that as we just said, anything in Sharia is of benefit for us.
		

			But we might not understand the immediate benefit. Now. This is one thing. The main thing is we need
to submit to what Allah decides. And this submission, this submission gives the sweetness of an Eman
		

			and Allah Allah Allah says in the Quran rabuka Yahama Yasha where Tao Malka and Ella Halmahera.
Allah creates whatever He wants, and he chooses whatever he wants in and it is not up to them to
choose it is not up to them to select Allah Allah Allah mentioned this and Allah Allah Allah wants
to tell at that time that people said why Quran was revealed to Muhammad why in particular Muhammad
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, what's different with Muhammad Sallallahu sallam? Of course, there are
so many different things about Muhammad Sallallahu Sallam but today said this out of jealous Yes, of
course from Ahmed Salah Addis and they do not want to submit. So they said why Quran was revealed on

			it is not arbitrary. It is not arbitrary. There is a wisdom, but that was the mind to not be visible

			But however, Allah Allah, Allah, Allah has the right to select anyone. And whenever Allah Allah,
Allah, Allah selects anyone, it is the best, of course, Allah Allah, Allah, Allah will never select
something bad. And he will say to the holy humanity, follow that or do that. Or stick to that. Of
course it is the best, but we might not understand it. Now. Allah Allahu Allah selected Maccha to be

confident that those rights are not going to harm us. So by going to MCE it is true that it is hot.
We do not understand what's the reason of selecting MCE. But the question is, is going to MCE going
to harm you or not. It will not harm you. Okay, even if it is going to harm you. It will have a
bigger benefit. Exactly. Allah Allah Allah confirm that he never created some our heavens and earth.

			In arbitrary for nothing for wisdom so when Allah Allah Allah selected the month of Ramadan which is
the ninth lunar year, the law the ninth lunar month, okay.
		

			Why not? The seventh? Exactly? Why not the third why not to have Ramadan moves? So, if it is hot,
then maybe it is in the middle between summer season and winter season in the middle in the spring
seasons will not be difficult for people. Why?
		

			Because that's Allah subhanaw taala once, it is an amazing story here, Doctor, I want to pick up on
again from my own experience. We have to have logic behind everything, and nobody can question a lot
only Allah subhanaw taala knows best. Exactly. And when when you ask, Why does Allah want me to fast
in summer? Why is Allah only Allah? Allah only ever knows best? We don't know anything we will never
know anything law us Allah Amaya fal wahome us alone. No one can question Allah stuff that Allah of
course, they will be questioned. But as I said, it was not arbitrary. Of course, and it has
benefits. We might you know, them we might not know that. So this is the first point that Ramadan is

			Salam Alaikum. A very warm welcome back to the philosophy of fasting. We're joined in the studio
today with Dr. Fatima land. We're talking about the virtues of fasting in Ramadan. Doctor before the
break, we were talking about the the virtues of fasting in Ramadan, specifically the nine months.
Why did Allah choose us we'll never know. But what is the virtues of fasting in Ramadan? Now salat
wa salam ala Rasulillah. As we said that Allah Allah Allah creates whatever He wants and chooses
what he whatever he wants. So Allah, Allah, Allah chose in the month of Ramadan and Allah Allah
Allah Allah placed certain virtues in that month, in this month of Ramadan that we are experiencing
		

			now. So, for example,
		

			there is a very amazing Hadith Hadith was
		

			that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said,
		

			the scriptures of Ibrahim were revealed in the first night of Ramadan.
		

			And the scriptures of Musa or the Torah were revealed after six days of Ramadan. And the injeel was
revealed in the 14th night of Ramadan, or on the 13th night of Ramadan. And the zebu was revealed
after third after 18th or after a theme nights of Ramadan. And the Quran was revealed after the 24
nights of Ramadan.
		

			So all main scriptures were revealed in Ramadan.
		

			Many people are unaware of this hadith. So the scripture for Brahim were revealed. The scriptures of
Ibrahim were revealed in the first night of Ramadan, so it means that Allah Allah Allah, like the
Ramadan from before exactly for Ramadan becomes what becomes a month that we fast. I don't want to
get into the discussion. Where, you know, Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah says in the Quran, yeah, and
you know, fasting was prescribed upon you as it was prescribed upon previous nations. Yes, so
previous nations used to fast course the question is, did they use too fast the month of Ramadan or
did they use too fast other months or
		

			are other ways of fasting? It is not confirmed. Some people say they use too fast the month of
Ramadan. Some people say no they use too fast different kinds of fasting Yes, but the point is

His main is pitch. All main books were revealed and Ramadan. So as we said, the scripture of Brahim
were revealed in the first night of Ramadan. Torah of Musa alayhis salam, and we'll be live in torah
of course, was revealed after six days of Ramadan, the Indian was revealed after 13 days of Ramadan.
		

			And then the the zebu was revealed after 18 days or in the 18th day of Ramadan. And the Quran, which
is the best of his pitch, which is the best of books, which is the seal of all books as the Prophet
SAW Selim is the hero of all prophets, Allah Who knows Zilla Arsenal Aditi Kitab and Bucha behind
Muthoni. Allah revealed the best of his speech which is the Quran definitely. So for the Quran was
revealed during the month of Ramadan, which gives Ramadan especially what is special significance of
course, because it is the time that what that endorsed the revelation of Allah, the speech of Allah,
the way of Allah, Allah, Allah. Yes. And all of us know.

that is known for almost everyone

hamdulillah Al Hamdulillah. And see whenever fasting is mentioned Quran is mentioned. So how Ramadan

			And anyway inshallah we will come to that, but let us discuss the virtues of fasting in Ramadan in
particular, yes, so we said that the hadith of Ebihara era, the Allahu taala, and hope that the
Prophet sallallahu sallam said, Whoever first the month of Ramadan, believing that this is a from
Allah, either it is an obligation from Allah, and see King very would,
		

			then Allah, Allah, Allah will forgive all his previous sins, imagine all previous sins. And then
there is the the other part of the Hadith. And the one who establishes the young lady. During the
month of Ramadan, he will have all his previous sins forgiven.
		

			And subhanAllah look at that third virtue, which is very similar to those, the Prophet sallallahu
sallam said, and the one who fought and the one who establishes the Yamo lane on Laylatul Qadr.
Only.
		

			On later, Allah, Allah, Allah will forgive all his previous sins. So
		

			if you miss the first chance, which is what not to be forgiven, because of fasting Ramadan, don't
miss the second chance, which is what, which is priamo late during the whole month of Ramadan. If
you miss that chance, then are you going to miss the 30 chance? Definitely not. And that's why there
is one amazing Hadith that the angel Jibreel came to the Prophet salallahu Alaihe Salam. And he
said, a lot of them are unfamiliar in an unfamiliar environment unfamiliar and unfamiliar and means
be humiliated, be humiliated, be humiliated. And every time the prophets Allah Selim says, I mean, I
mean, I mean, then the Sahaba said, Yeah, rasool Allah, what is this be humiliated? And you say,

			be humiliated for that person who lives during the month of Ramadan, and he does not have his sins
forgiven. It means that this is a person who was not seeking the forgiveness of Allah, Allah, Allah,
Allah, you have all these opportunities, and you still you miss them. What does that mean? It means
that you are you are not running behind those many opportunities, of course, so you are the him or
