All right, Salam alaikum, everybody.
Let's go ahead and get started, inshallah.
Welcome back to Exploring the Quran, alhamdulillah.
Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Raheem.
Rabbish rahli sadri wa yasri amri, wahlur uqratan
min lisani, yafkahu qawli rabbi zidni ilma, rabbi
zidni ilma, rabbi zidni ilma.
Alhamdulillah, we are at our finale, officially at
our finale.
I've been announcing the finale for two and
a half weeks now.
And then I've been gaslighting you guys and
saying, like, actually, we're gonna keep going.
But this is the actual finale.
It's not the finale of the class.
We will be here every Sunday, except for
the next two Sundays, but we will be
here every Sunday, inshallah.
And then we will be continuing on.
I guess I should announce the new series,
inshallah.
So after this, this is the finale of
Surah Yusuf.
After this, inshallah, the goal, and the next
series is gonna be a little bit longer.
Surah Yusuf, this is actually the 15th week,
so it's like a perfect stop, a perfect
end.
The next one will be understanding and learning
the seerah, the life of the Prophet, salallahu
alayhi wa sallam, but through the Quran.
So I'm really excited because it's not, typically
we'll learn the seerah, obviously through the different
stories and different narrations.
And that's actually, like, if we're talking just
even logistically of prepping for programs and stuff
like that, it's a lot easier because that's
how the seerah is.
It is through narrations that you learn it.
But the goal of the next series will
be, we've spent a lot of time talking
about faith and, like, trial and tribulation, but
the goal will be understanding, connecting those two
shahadahs, like the two parts of the shahadah.
So la ilaha illallah, Muhammad ar-Rasulullah, right?
So believing in Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala's
oneness and believing in the Prophet Muhammad, salallahu
alayhi wa sallam, as the final messenger, but
through the words in the Book of Allah.
So I'm excited for it.
It's gonna be a little bit of a
passion project for me.
It's gonna be a heavy lifting, too.
So we'll see.
If I come one week and I say,
guys, we're just gonna vibe.
Just know that it was a little bit
difficult that week, okay?
But inshallah, it's gonna be great, and we'll
start that series on December 8th, inshallah.
So after today, we're gonna take about two
-week break just because we don't have class
during the Thanksgiving break, and then I actually
will be traveling, inshallah.
So I ask you guys to keep my
grandmother in your du'a.
She's a little bit ill, so I'm gonna
go and see her, and then we'll start
back with our new series, inshallah.
Well, class is now over, so you guys
can't get up and leave now.
We're gonna go ahead and start.
So we are covering the end of Surah
Yusuf.
We'll be starting with verse number 102.
Now, last week, just so that we can
kind of connect to where we're going, we
ended off with the conversation and the story
of Yusuf itself, like the actual story of
everything that Yusuf alaihissalam went through, and Allah
swt bringing the story to light for us
in the Quran, to which we then see
how Yusuf alaihissalam is so appreciative to Allah
for everything that he's gone through.
And he says, rabbi kada ateitani minal mulki,
my oh my lord, you have truly given
me from kingship and power, wa alamtani min
ta'weelil ahadith, and you've truly taught me
how to interpret dreams, and remember that this
was something that Yusuf alaihissalam had, it was
a skill that he had, it was a
skill that Allah swt had given him.
And then he says, fatir al-samawati wal
-ard, that you're the one who originated, you
created the heavens and the earth, anta walihi,
that you are my protector, fit dunya wal
-akhira, in this world and in the hereafter,
tawaffani musliman, so take my life and allow
me to die as someone who submitted to
you, wa alhikani bisaliheen, and make me amongst
those who are righteous.
So that is where we ended.
This beautiful ask that Yusuf alaihissalam has, an
ask that he has after acknowledging all the
good that Allah has done.
But remember, so to Yusuf, it is a
consolation to the Prophet salallahu alaihi wa sallam,
it is a message to us on how
to endure, how to have patience, but it's
also a light into the people who are
righteous and the difficulties that they face and
their ability to still remain connected to Allah.
So Allah swt wraps up this surah by
addressing the Prophet salallahu alaihi wa sallam, and
he says to him, dhalika min anba'il
ghaybi noohihi ilayk, that this information that you're
learning, this news that you have of Yusuf
alaihissalam, it is from the actions and from
the life of the unseen or the part
of the unseen that we have revealed onto
you.
And essentially telling the Prophet salallahu alaihi wa
sallam that you weren't there, you weren't there,
you're a part of the legacy of Yusuf
alaihissalam, but you weren't there witnessing Yusuf alaihissalam's
story.
So as if like Allah swt is giving
him firsthand account of it, by saying you're
able to feel this because God is the
one who revealed this onto you.
And then he says to him, that wama
kunta ladayhim id ajma'u amrahum wahum yamkuroon,
and you were not with them, you were
not in the situation where the brothers of
Yusuf conspired this plan, and they did this
plan against him, and you weren't there when
they caused all this harm to him.
But the only way that you're able to
know of what has happened, and what has
transpired against Yusuf alaihissalam, is because we recited
it onto you.
Now, prophethood is interesting, because there are some
aspects of it that you will call like
common sense, right?
And what the aspects of that is, when
the Prophet salallahu alaihi wa sallam was talking
to people about their character, talking to them
about how they should be, all of these
things, yes, Allah swt tells us, wama yantikoo
anil hawwa, he doesn't speak in accordance to
his own will, he only speaks in the
way that Allah has given him the command
to, right?
But the Prophet salallahu alaihi wa sallam is
teaching people that through things that other people
will look around and they will agree.
They will say, yeah, that makes sense, you
should be kind, you should be loving, you
should smile, you should do all these things.
But then there comes certain stories of prophets
that has occurred, or certain things like the
knowledge of the unseen, or the knowledge of
the hereafter, that the Prophet salallahu alaihi wa
sallam wouldn't have had any information about that
had Allah not revealed it to him.
And this is one of those qualities that
we understand is what makes a person a
prophet, that they have this divine connection with
Allah, that Allah brings onto them, or gives
onto them information that otherwise we actually wouldn't
have had it.
And then Allah swt says, wama akhtarun naasi
lou harasta bi mu'minin.
And most people, although you strive for it,
although you put in so much effort for
them to believe, most people will not believe.
Although you strive for it, although this is
what you want from them, although this is
the effort that you put forward in your
entire mission, it's for them to believe, they
will not believe.
Now what's interesting is that belief is also
an aspect of the unseen.
It is an aspect of only Allah swt's
power.
And what that means is that Allah swt
tells the Prophet salallahu alaihi wa sallam in
another place in the Quran, that you cannot
guide the one that you love the most.
You can have so much love for them,
but you do not have the ability to
guide them.
Belief is an action of the heart.
And so after Allah swt gives the Prophet
salallahu alaihi wa sallam the story of Yusuf
alaihi wa sallam, that the Prophet salallahu alaihi
wa sallam wouldn't have known had it not
been that Allah revealed it to him, then
Allah swt tells him, but you know this
is also in your everyday life too.
It's like providing an example, and then you
get the example, and then someone's like, okay,
let me tell you about this thing that
maybe you're not completely wrapping your head around.
Maybe you're not completely comfortable with it.
But just like you can understand this bigger
thing, you should be able to understand this
smaller thing.
And so Allah swt tells the Prophet salallahu
alaihi wa sallam that even though you put
in so much effort, and you have so
much love for people, just know that there
are people who will not believe.
And the Prophet salallahu alaihi wa sallam's responsibility
in his job is to just preach.
And I know that sounds like, oh man,
it's a little bit.
No, it's a big undertaking.
He spent time making du'afras.
He spent time preaching.
He spent time, he went through hardship and
difficulty, and had to put those things aside
to still do the responsibility he has in
this world.
But Allah swt does not give him the
burden of making sure people accept the faith.
Why?
Because he doesn't have control over the hearts
of people.
Only Allah swt has that control.
Now the word here that Allah swt uses
about concern, he says, walaw harasta.
Harasta comes from the root of ha, ra,
and saat, okay?
And it's interesting because in Surat al-Tawbah,
which is one of the most beautiful verses
in the Quran, verse number 128, Allah swt
talks about the characteristic of the Prophet salallahu
alaihi wa sallam, the character, who he was.
And he says, laqada ja'akum rasulun min
anfusikum.
That certainly a messenger has come to you
all from amongst you all.
Azizun alayhi ma'anittum.
It is very difficult for him what you
endure.
The difficulty that people have, the hardships that
people face, the fact that people don't believe,
all of these things are very grave.
They make him feel like he's grieving, right?
So Allah swt says, azizun alayhi ma'anittum.
What you face and what you go through,
it makes it very difficult for him on
his heart.
And then Allah swt says, harisun alaykum.
That he's ever so concerned.
And Harris has an understanding of like, staying
awake at night.
It is to be so concerned for somebody,
it is to have like a pit at
the bottom of your stomach because you feel
just this level of like stress over somebody.
Like you don't even think about eating yourself
because you're worried about someone else.
This is what Allah swt explains to Prophet
salallahu alaihi wa sallam.
He says that, harisun alaykum.
He loses sleep over you.
Why?
bil mu'mineena ra'ufun rahim.
Because he's ever so loving and so merciful
to the believers.
So now Allah swt uses that same wording
here, saying that the Prophet salallahu alaihi wa
sallam is losing sleep over people, though they
will never believe.
But there is a beautiful aspect to that.
Because when someone feels like, oh man, you're
gonna give up on me, they give up
on themselves.
It's like, man, you don't believe in me
anyway, I might as well just give up.
And to know that the Prophet salallahu alaihi
wa sallam was not one to give up
on people is very important.
But normally what happens when someone has too
much investment in one person, they neglect the
other side.
You know, when parents have too much investment
in one child, you knew I was gonna
go there.
When parents have too much, I love my
mom friends, okay?
You guys know, we're besties forever, okay?
But when parents have too much investment on
one child, there's like all the other kids.
And you know what they say, right?
You're rewarding bad behavior, like the good ones
are not being addressed because you always do
what you're supposed to do.
But the one who maybe is struggling, that's
where all the attention goes.
And so to combat that, to battle that,
we also see that though the Prophet salallahu
alaihi wa sallam did not give up on
people, he still maintained his responsibility in leading
the ummah, the people that did believe, right?
So there's two parts to it.
There is, yes, you don't give up on
people, you help them, but you also have
to let people walk their journey.
And this is why Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala keeps telling the Prophet salallahu alaihi wa
sallam that there are just people who have
a different path in life.
You do your job though.
You do your job.
You go, you preach to them, you call
them, you do what you're supposed to do.
But then there's the people who do believe
in you.
And those people who do believe in you,
you have a job to them as well.
And there's no amount of preaching, there's no
amount of forcing, there's no amount of hand
-holding that's gonna make them believe unless Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala tells them that they
shall believe.
Unless Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is the
one who brings that into fruition.
And so it actually is not meant to
be demoralizing.
It's meant to be alleviating a pressure.
Now, how do we apply this into our
life?
We spend so much time losing sleep over
things we cannot control.
Fundamentally, down to the essence of the situation,
it does not matter how many ways you
cut the pie, the pie will still be
the pie.
And so Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is
telling you what?
Trust Him.
You just have one responsibility, and that is
to trust Allah.
Now, that sounds simple, and you guys are
all looking at me like, yeah, we do
trust God.
But when was the last time you saw
that something was hard and difficult and you
didn't really know how to navigate it, that
your immediate response was to make du'a
to Allah as opposed to losing sleep over
it?
When was the last time?
Usually, we think of du'a as our
last resort.
We say, well, the last thing that I
can do is make du'a.
When truly making du'a should be our
first option.
Our first thought should be that I need
to talk to God.
Why?
Because there is no ability except for the
ability that Allah gives you.
And there's a beautiful du'a.
Allahumma la sahla illa ma ja'altahu sahlan.
That Allah, nothing will be easy except for
what you make easy.
So if we are looking at difficulties and
hardships, and we're saying this burden is such
a burden and so heavy, but we're not
asking the one who can make it easy
to make it easy for us, then we're
just actually carrying a burden that is very
heavy for no reason.
We could alleviate that difficulty simply by having
a conversation with the one who loves us
more than we love ourselves, and that is
Allah.
And then Allah swt says, wa ma tas
'aluhum alayhi min ajranin.
You go and you preach to them.
And when you preach to them, you don't
ask them for any type of reward.
You don't ask them to pay you.
You don't ask them to praise you.
You don't ask them for anything.
The only thing you ask of them is
that they should believe in the one who's
taking care of them.
In huwa illa dhikrin lil'alameen.
This Quran that you are preaching to them,
it is a reminder.
It is a reminder for the people.
It is a reminder for every creation.
And then Allah swt says, wa ka'ayyum
min ayatin fis-sanawati wal-ard.
How many signs are there in the heavens
and the earth that Allah has presented to
people?
Ya marroona alayha.
And they just walk straight past it.
How many trees do we walk past and
not think about how Allah created them?
How many times do we see natural disasters
or things that happen as they're meant to
shake us and we're not shaken?
How many times has Allah swt given us
little miracles in our life and we have
not paid attention to them?
This is what Allah swt is saying.
He says, wa ka'ayyum min ayatin fis
-sanawati wal-ard.
Ya marroona alayha.
They just walk straight past it.
And as if that's not bad enough, wa
hum anha mu'ridoon.
And when it's brought to their attention, hey,
this is a sign from God, they turn
away.
Oh, it's okay.
You know why those things happen?
Because you get immune.
You ever go to like a really nice
place like Dallas?
No offense, I'm not from Dallas.
When I go to places and they're like,
oh, isn't it California so much nicer than
Dallas?
Don't you wanna move to California?
And I'm like, guys, I'm not from Dallas.
So what you're saying is a factual statement,
okay?
Transport my job to California.
I will come to California, okay?
No offense.
And my people and my friends and my
mom's friends and their kids and their families,
oh my God, now we're getting awkward, okay?
Right?
But you ever go somewhere outside of Dallas
and the nature is so beautiful?
It's so beautiful.
And the first day, you're in awe.
The first day, you're looking around, you're taking
pictures, you just feel like, man, this cannot
be real.
And my favorite thing is when kids say
things like, oh, it looks like the wallpaper
on my computer.
And I'm like, it's children, okay?
But you see that and you're in awe.
Second day, it's still nice.
The third day is kind of like, eh.
Fourth day is like, oh yeah, it's fine.
Fifth day is like, okay, can we go
home now?
Right?
That's how it is.
You just, you become immune to it.
It's like, okay, I've seen it, I've done
that.
Got a T-shirt.
When really, truly, a lost one thought puts
these things there for us so that we're
constantly in awe.
Right?
There's these, the ability to reflect is actually
a very lost art.
Because everything is just handed to us.
Everything.
You have information at the tip of your
fingertips.
When a lost one thought is telling us,
no, you're supposed to feel things.
You're supposed to look outside and see the
rain, and you're supposed to say, alhamdulillah because
there are people who do not experience that.
And you're supposed to eat, and you're supposed
to say alhamdulillah because there are people who
do not have that.
You're supposed to spend time with your family
and say alhamdulillah because there are people who
do not have that.
But above all of those reasons, You should
say Alhamdulillah because Allah gave it to you
because Allah created it because Allah created you
and so Allah SWT tells the Prophet SAW
that your job is to preach and Though
they're not listening to you preaching Don't get
so offended because they walk past the miracles
of God every single day.
They don't care to look at it They
walk past and see the incredible power of
Allah Every single day and they don't care
to even one second be grateful to God
So in this case Well, it's not boasting
It's not happy that people are not believing
but rather he's saying that belief is an
action of an awakened heart and if a
person's heart is not awake enough to look
at the miracles around them and To look
at the things around them and be in
remembrance of Allah Then how can they hear
the words of the Prophet SAW and be
awakened?
but the beauty of it the beauty of
all of this is that Allah draws for
us parameters, these are boundaries and then we
read the stories of the companions and We
read the stories of the prophets and we
realize there's always someone that's an exception to
the rule If you think of Omar bin
Khattab and you think of the life that
he speaks about himself prior to him believing
and The life that he lived after his
belief you would think in your mind that
this is like impossible It's impossible You read
the narration Surat Al-Haqqa that the background
story of Surat Al-Haqqa is so incredibly
beautiful Omar bin Khattab literally says I was
going to the Haram I wasn't going there
to like worship.
I wasn't going there for anything good I
went there for the simple purpose to start
trouble and The Prophet SAW started reciting Surat
Al-Haqqa and Omar bin Khattab in his
mind.
He's saying this guy's a poet He's a
kahin.
He's a soothsayer and the Prophet SAW is
reciting.
He's not a kahin He's not a poet
and he's like there's something crazy about this
man, and he leaves there.
He doesn't become Muslim Everybody thinks Surat Al
-Haqqa is the first time that Omar bin
Khattab heard the Quran and then he became
transformed By the first time he heard it
and then he became Muslim.
He did not become Muslim the first time
He left because he thought the Prophet SAW
was crazy but when his heart when Allah
opened his heart and Allah SWT allowed for
the Quran to penetrate into his heart It
is not by coincidence That Surat Al-Haqqa
talks about Musa alayhi salam, one of the
strongest people that we know in our tradition
Someone who you would call like if you
were to describe Izzah, honor and you were
to describe Kuwa, strength and power Musa alayhi
salam is what comes to your mind But
then when you think about the life of
the Prophet SAW and the companions around him
and you were to describe those same things
Honor and power and strength who comes to
your mind?
There's about two people Omar bin Khattab and
Hamza Isn't that interesting?
So there's just kind of Allah SWT is
saying that there are people who walk past
the signs of God and they don't turn
and they Don't believe.
Allah SWT is telling us that's his job
It is not our job to look around
and be like you did not say Alhamdulillah
when you looked at that tree today Looking
a little cold-hearted That is not our
job Allah SWT takes care of what he's
supposed to take care.
We have to worry about our own heart
We have to worry about us not being
those people who see the signs of Allah
and not pay attention We have to worry
about us being the people who are grateful
for the things that we have though They
may be difficult though.
It may not be always rainbows and sunshine
in a good time You know, sometimes it
is hard, but just because it's hard doesn't
make it any less of a blessing Do
you think prophethood was easy for the Prophet
SAW?
But would he call it a curse?
Two things can exist at the same time.
A blessing could have difficulty attached to it
But nothing nothing that is worthwhile has ever
come easy Nothing that is worth appreciating has
never come easy So that means that there
are moments that come For submission that we
have the submission that we have to have
to Allah that may be very difficult for
us to do But just because it's difficult
It doesn't mean that we don't do it
this past week.
I was talking to someone She's so cute.
She's like sending me a hundred messages about
this one thing that she's scared of and
she's like I want to put on a
hijab But what if I take it off
and if I take it off then it's
gonna be embarrassing But then I don't want
to be embarrassed I'm gonna put it on
but at the same time like I don't
know what I'm doing And then she's like
just give me an answer and I told
her Let me tell you something.
Okay, I'm not gonna lie to you and
sit here and say put it on because
every day is gonna be the most beautiful
day in the world and then you're gonna
be like Oh my god, all my outfits
match like no Doesn't work that way Some
days you're gonna match your hijab and the
colors are gonna be off And you just
have to go through the rest of the
day like that.
Some days you're gonna wake up Not gonna
feel it.
Some days you're gonna wake up Gonna feel
it.
Some days you're gonna feel inspired.
Some days you won't feel inspired That's everything
in life That's everything in life Sometimes we
have to take a leap of faith even
in submission Just have to do it.
It's not just about hijab.
Not that was just an example.
It's about anything Sometimes people don't want to
start fasting Because then I don't know if
I can really pull through and do this
especially in my job and the responsibilities that
I have this and So on and so
forth Sometimes people don't want to pray in
public Sometimes people don't want to pray at
all There are so many struggles that we
as an ummah are facing and Allah SWT
is telling us Take the leap of faith.
I got you You're not alone This is
why we're an ummah.
You're not alone.
You may feel alone It may seem like
you're alone But even if I'm not there
or the person next to you is not
there remember 1400 years ago the Prophet sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam stood in salah and made
dua so long that his feet were hurting
and imprinted in the ground and When the
companions came to him and said ya Rasulullah,
why are you crying?
Why are you making so much dua?
He said I'm making dua for my brothers
and sisters And they said ya Rasulullah.
Aren't we your brothers and sisters?
He said no, you're are you're my companions
My brothers and sisters are the ones who
believes in me without even seeing me That
is you and I That is you and
I so whatever Spiritual Difficulty you're going through
you're not alone It is objectively difficult, but
it's also objectively a blessing that Allah has
bestowed upon us The fact that Allah SWT
even put it in your heart to think
to want to do better, say alhamdulillah Because
there are people who are living in delusion
They're living a life that is not pleasing
to Allah But they don't have it in
their heart to even think about doing better
and then Allah SWT says wa ma yu'minu
akhtaruhum billahi illa wahum mushrikoon and many of
them Will not believe in Allah But the
only way that they will even think in
the slightest to believe in Allah is to
associate partners for God I know, you know,
I say it all the time.
We are not alhamdulillah thumma alhamdulillah committing shirk
But what does shirk mean?
It means to put something above Allah.
And so sometimes our faith and submission is
a lot easier Because we're like, yeah, I
can submit to God as long as all
of these things are in place So long
as life is not hard, so long as
my bills are paid, so long as food
is on the table So long as life
feels a little good Then I'm good to
worship Allah.
But when life is difficult, I don't know
feeling a little shaky right now Then there's
the opposite When life is good, it's like
oh, who's God?
Everything is good.
I'm self-made.
I did it by myself.
But then when life is hard, what are
we doing?
Oh Allah.
Oh Allah Why me?
Why me?
And you know what Allah SWT says about
this person?
It is those that worship Allah on edge
Something has to tilt you to be there.
When really as believers, we're supposed to do
what?
Qul aamantum billahi thumma astakim We're supposed to
say that we believe in Allah and then
we are steadfast and Then we stay the
course That is what we're supposed to do
When the people of the past will commit
shirk, they will say yeah, God is capable,
but he's not capable of everything But for
us we say that Allah is capable and
he's more than capable Allah is capable of
that which we know and that which we
do not know Which means that in every
aspect of our life The first thing that
we are to think about the way that
we are to lead our life our worldview
has to be Allah Because Allah is greater
than me He's greater than my thought process
and he's sure enough greater than any solution.
I could have provided and then Allah SWT
says Atha aminu in ta'tiahum ghashiyatun min a'dhabillahi
o ta'tiahum al-sa'a baqtatan Well since
they don't believe in the signs that God
has presented since they don't believe in the
message that the Prophet ﷺ has brought without
asking for anything and Allah SWT has given
them all of these warnings that pertains to
them directly Then will they truly feel this
sense of security?
Right.
Will they feel this sense of being self
-sufficient and okay and not needing God?
When the punishment comes to them or the
hour comes to them and they think that
it comes to them baqtatan They think that
it comes to them suddenly There is nothing
Nothing.
Allah does not suddenly do anything.
Allah does not suddenly punish a group of
people.
That's not what happens Allah SWT gives chance
after chance after chance When Allah SWT brings
the punishment onto a nation, when Allah SWT
brings the punishment onto an oppressor He doesn't
bring it at the first sight of oppression
Why?
Because there's still doubt.
Not in Allah's plan and what he's done
But amongst the people.
People say, oh did they deserve it?
What if they repented?
You didn't give them time?
Well God's so just then how come?
That's what people do.
That's what people are doing now But then
Oppressors double down They don't stop.
They don't say, oh God you gave me
a sign.
Whoo.
I need to stop.
They don't do that They double down and
they keep going over and over and over
and over again until it becomes abundantly clear
And when Allah SWT's punishment comes upon them,
they say oh man this happened out of
nowhere When everyone else around them is saying
what?
You deserved it.
You dug your own grave When the Quraysh
faced the Muslims in the Battle of Badr
They were so arrogant They were so arrogant.
They didn't just come to the Battle of
Badr with their army men and things of
that name.
No They brought a parade They brought alcohol.
They were ready and they were ready to
Celebrate the annihilation of the Muslims and You
will think that as they saw that their
their their soldiers were falling and no one
was touching them The angels were there and
fighting because Allah sent the angels down You
will think that in that moment they will
look around and they would say Maybe perhaps
we should I don't know go back to
Mecca and like repent.
No, they didn't because Arrogance arrogance is the
most delusional thing a person can have They
could be facing their mortality and still say
I'm gonna live forever That's what arrogance does
to you Arrogance does to a person that
they see that Allah is greater than them
and they still think of themselves to be
greater than God And so when Abu Jahl
is facing his mortality He tells these young
companions today's the best day of your life
and When you kill me take my head
and put it up because you killed an
honorable person.
Can you imagine?
Can you imagine that type of arrogance and
these are extreme levels of oppression for sure
But let's talk about us Let's talk about
how many chances Allah gives us How many
times Allah says to us?
Okay, you know why?
You're falling short and he gives us a
reminder He puts on those lights in our
life.
He's little blinders telling us.
Hey Warning warning warning You know and I
was telling us don't ignore these warnings You
ignore the check engine light on your car
long enough.
What's gonna happen to your car?
It's literally gonna catch on fire.
Okay, so those of you can meet it
to get your own changes a reminder from
the Lord Get that change but it's something
your car is literally gonna break it's gonna
break down and it's irreparable It's irreparable So
when Allah keeps giving us these warning signs
in our own life Then what are we
meant to do?
We need to turn back why because what
happens is not sudden and Then Allah swt
tells the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam He
says now you are Preaching and now, you
know your job and you know the position
that you're in.
This is what you need to say to
people Tell them cool Hadith a beanie.
This is my path My path is Preaching
people to the oneness of Allah.
I don't know a lot.
I Call you all to Allah.
That is it I love both Sita tin,
but I'm not doing it in a way
that is unplanned I'm not doing it in
a way that it's not thoughtful.
I'm not doing it in a way.
That is at whim I love both Sita
means with insight and foresight Allah has put
the process on in that position to preach
He's put the process on in that position
to lead And any good leader knows that
you're only as good as your plan That's
the reality of it.
If you only just kind of like, oh,
maybe we should do this.
Maybe we should do that Maybe we should
do this.
Maybe Doesn't work that way Everybody's gonna think
Some screws are missing All the way there
So the process on the size.
I love both Sita tin.
I have this clear Insight and foresight and
I have these clear evidences ensure Knowledge and
this knowledge does not come from him.
It comes from Allah.
I Know when my net tab, I mean
that it is not just for me, but
whoever follows me also gets this clarity a
Lot of times we don't know where we're
supposed to go in life.
We really don't Should I do this job
should I do that?
Should I live here?
Should I live there?
That's why it's the heart is very important
You do it Sakata and I know this
sounds like some like weird internet mumbo-jumbo,
okay It's really not you do it Sakata
and you may not know exactly what you're
supposed to do But you know exactly what
you're not supposed to do You do it
Sakata and it's like Allah unveils for you
All of a sudden if things are good
all of a sudden doors that are meant
to open are like boom boom boom boom
opening And you feel like what a coincidence
no, that's God it's the Lord, okay And
if something's not meant to happen and you
still want it to happen, it will not
happen You're like hitting your head at a
wall over and over and over again That's
what clear insight is So the prophet says
I call you to Allah so that you
can have clarity in your life Because if
we don't submit to God we will submit
to something and God forbid we end up
submitting to some random human's plan in life
and you spend your entire life Contributing to
someone else's dream and not what Allah created
you for so the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam tells him to say this and then
he says Well, subhanAllah and how perfect and
exalted and high above is Allah Well, man,
I don't mean I'm mushy keen that I
am NOT of those who associate partners with
God Because it's truly a blessing to be
able to see and to be able to
know That Allah is one We take it
for granted as believers because we live that
life every single day But it's important for
us to say the humble that we're not
lost It's important for us to say the
humble that we're not deprived of the love
of Allah because there are a lot of
people in darkness It's important for us to
say the humble Allah that you know days
are hard Sometimes getting up and praying and
doing what we're supposed to do is difficult
But Allah has still put it in our
heart.
It's important to say that because there are
people who are so void of feeling and
They're so void of spirituality that they fill
up their soul with things that are that
are not good for them just to fill
a little bit of something and For us
Allah SWT gave us the ability to have
a conversation with him And now Allah SWT
takes the Prophet ﷺ down this understanding of
who he is And he says وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا
مِن قَبْلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًۭا That we have only
sent men that have come before نُوْهِي إِلَيْهِم
مِّنْ أَهْلِ الْقُرَىٰ and We have revealed to
them revealed amongst them from among the people
of the cities And then he says أَفَلَمْ
يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ You not travel in the
land فَيَنْذُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ آقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ
And see what Allah deal with the people
who came before them I tell the students
all the time that this is the verse
I used to convince my mom that traveling
is like what I should do This is
what God said, but it's true It's true
Why because there are so many again, you
remember those signs there's so many signs There
are signs of God's power you travel you
see other people you see other cultures Experience
other experiences and all of a sudden in
your mind.
You're like this is actually kind of wild
My world is not just Dallas, Texas or
Chicago or California or New York.
My world is not just that In fact,
the list for that is power is so
much more vast But then there are also
ruins And I promise I'm told the companions
don't walk around these ruins and look and
think you're on vacation You better cry Because
if you don't then what has the difficulty
and the punishment that's befalling them shall befall
you Why because how many signs has God
sent and people just walk past them?
This is true So let's one thought tells
the prophecy Salam I found them you see
roof and out the interesting thing is that
the Quraysh actually did travel a lot for
trade and they came in contact with these
ruins and they didn't even think about it
and the last one that I says for
young do to cave I can occupy to
Lydian and then probably him and Then a
last one that I says what a doubt
or the Akira team.
Hey, you know, maybe not taco You see
all of that you travel the entirety of
the world you see all these ruins you
see these beautiful places you see palaces you
see all of these beautiful things that feel
enticing and Then a lot ends it off
by saying that well a doubt or the
Akira, but the home of the hereafter Hayden
it is so much better Little lady not
taco for only for those who have got
consciousness and awareness of Allah Because when you
see the beauty of this world, then you
know that Jenna must be so much more
beautiful.
That's your immediate thought You you go you
travel overseas.
I love the fruits in other countries and
you have like a really good mango You're
like man.
Can't wait to have the mango in Jenna
Like that mango is gonna make me like
float in the clouds.
I feel so good right now You know,
that's your thought and then I lost one
time.
I says after that talking on Apple it's
very interesting because it's logical reasoning So let's
one thought says do they not reason put
one and one together and it will equal
to if You go and you look around
and you see the beauty that God has
bestowed upon the world And you know that
this is what less one time is capable
of then and you know God is capable
of so much more than you can comprehend
Like if we could ever truly comprehend Allah
fully then Allah would not be Allah It's
just the reality of it if I know
what somebody's gonna do the next day you're
not my god, that's crazy That is insane
But the fact that we truly do not
know we cannot comprehend all of God into
our brains because it's too small Then what
that means is that okay?
I see all of this beauty here now
then I know that there's so much more
that Allah has in store and Now last
month Allah says had tie either stay as
a Russell oh that they Continued until their
messengers like the messengers continue to preach until
they got to a point where they knew
was over They got to a point where
they were at their wits end Well done.
No, I know who cut that cut that
could be boom and they just knew that
their people had denied them Yeah, I'm not
Luna that is when our help comes When
people are there and they just are done
with their messengers.
They don't believe they're the last people that
will believe have believed Then all this one
thought says our help then comes But no
nut for ninja men Nisha and we should
then save those whom we will Well, I
you're up to about Sunna.
I know the Coleman and would you be
me?
But those who are criminals which of them
is not someone who is accused of doing
something It's not innocent to proven guilty.
It is a person who has been proven
to be guilty at That point that person
would not be able to push the punishment
of a lot way why because you have
pushed God's messengers out and so Allah swt
punishment will come and Then Allah swt ends
off the surah by saying look at the
canopy Of course, I see him ever written
little in al-bad that most definitely you
will find that in their stories the stories
of prophets a lesson These are these are
detailed lessons, but it's only lessons for people
who have understanding for people who want to
think about it But people who reflect my
can a hadith and you start off It
is not just a tale that has been
Fabricated and made up.
It's not like a folk tale.
It's not something you just tell to your
kids as a big bedtime story Well, that
can testicle levy being a good day Rather
it is a confirmation in an affirmation for
what has happened in the past What to
see that could be Shaitan and it's an
explanation of every single thing Well hood on
and it's a means of guidance What I've
met him and it's a means of mercy
the combing you mean on for a nation
for a group of people who truly believe
We conclude through to Yusuf We're understanding that
Allah swt is not only there for us
through our trials and difficulties But rather Allah
swt has been there and will always been
be there in every single aspect of our
life Finding faith in trial and difficulty is
actually about finding faith in your life period
so long as a person can continuously develop
a Relationship with Allah in any time of
their life.
It does not matter from sunshine or rain
They will always feel that Allah is there
why because he is But our job our
responsibility is to show up to that relationship
That is what our responsibility is Allah swt
tells us in the Quran that he is
closer to us in our jugular brain vein
Which means Allah is closer to you than
you are to yourself That is in that
is incredibly mind-blowing Allah swt knows what's
in your heart before you can process your
own emotion That is what Allah swt is
showing us And so to Yusuf gives us
that download understanding That doesn't matter what happens
in your life.
It doesn't matter actually all these Interesting ups
and downs are literally the side quest of
life They're literally that but what truly matters
is the way that you turn to Allah
Because on the day of judgment When we're
standing before Allah We want to come to
Allah We want to come to Allah not
only with a sound heart A heart that
feels safe.
That's what we want We want to be
the ones who are on the sidelines and
enjoying And eating the fruits of Jannah waiting
to enter for the angels to be able
to greet us.
That's what we want We don't want to
be the ones who are being held accountable
and tested on the day of judgment we
don't want that We want to be the
ones who are enveloped in Allah swt's rahmah
We want to be the ones who are
drinking from the blessed hands of the prophet
We want to be the ones that the
prophet has been given permission to intercede on
our behalf But in order to be able
to unlock that type of rahmah from Allah,
we have to put in effort Effort.
Allah does not ask you to be perfect
Allah asks you to show up.
That is it Yaqub alayhis salaam mourned his
son for tens of ten ten plus years
He mourned his son But he still showed
up Yusuf alayhis salaam wanted to be with
his family He wanted to be with his
father.
He wanted to be with his brothers, even
though his brothers were not so nice to
him That's where he wanted to be But
he didn't let that stop him from showing
up and at the end When everything was
taken care of and all that had to
happen happened What did Yusuf alayhis salaam say
to Allah?
Put me with people who are righteous That's
where he wanted to be And when the
prophet passed away, what was he saying we
talked about this last week He wanted to
be in the best companionship that's where he
wanted to be We always want to be
with good people, but are we those good
people?
That's the question And so to Yusuf teaches
us how to be that Teaches us how
to endure and how to have that close
loving relationship with Allah So I pray that
Allah allows us to benefit from everything that
we heard here today I pray that Allah
SWT forgives us all of our shortcomings That
Allah SWT allows Yusuf to be one of
those surahs that intercedes for us on the
day of judgment that enters us into Jannah
to fordose I pray that Allah SWT allows
us to gather in the gathering much better
than this And that the angels that are
surrounding this gathering that Allah SWT allows those
angels to testify for us on the day
of judgment I pray that Allah SWT allows
us to drink from the blessed hands of
the prophet Muhammad And that Allah SWT allows
us to exhibit the character of Yaqub alayhis
salaam and Yusuf And the prophet Muhammad
