			Bismillah Alhamdulillah wa Salatu was Salam ala rasulillah dear brothers and sisters Assalamu
alaikum wa rahmatullah wa barakato. And welcome to another episode of the life of Ayesha mother of
the believers or the Allah Juana.

00:00:28 --> 00:01:19
			In the last episode, we had been speaking about an incident that happened where Rasulullah
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was asked by an angel that came down through the angel Jubilee, and he
was asked whether he would want to be a prophet who was a king, or a messenger who was a servant, a
prophet who was a king or a servant, messenger. And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam had been
encouraged by God le Salaam, to be humble, and to choose to be the servant who is a messenger. And
what that meant was that although the Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would have a higher
status as a messenger, because messengers have a higher status then so our soul has a higher status

00:01:19 --> 00:01:21
			then, and there'll be right a profit.

00:01:22 --> 00:02:16
			But what that meant was that he would not be the sort of person who would be who would live a life
of luxury, he would not be like a king, and he would live a simple life and austere life. So
Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he used to do without even some of the things that are halal,
and that people are allowed to have, he would do without the luxuries of life. And his thought of
via his nurturing of his family was such that he wanted them also to live that kind of austere life,
a life that was not attached to the materialism of this world, but instead preferred the life of the
next world. Sometimes that became very difficult for his family, especially his wives. And so the

00:02:16 --> 00:02:28
			following incident, which is narrated in the books of Hadith, really highlights one of these
incidents that took place that's related to this topic.

00:02:30 --> 00:03:17
			Abdullah Ibn Abbas in the rates, that there was a question that he had wanted to ask Omar bin Al
Khattab for a very long time. He says, I had been eager to ask Omar about the two ladies from among
the wives of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam regarding whom Allah said in the Quran, these
are the from the verses of Surah haleem. In the toolbar, Illa Allah He forgot the Sahaja Kuma if the
two of you turn in repentance to Allah, and that is better for you. For the hearts of both of you
have swerved from the straight path. And then the ayah goes on. But if you support one another
against the Prophet, then surely Allah is his protector. And after that gibreel and all the

00:03:17 --> 00:03:21
			righteous believers and the angels are all his supporters.

00:03:22 --> 00:03:43
			Now, Abdullah, bin Abbas wanted to ask Omar about this idea. He says he performed the Hajj along
with Omar. And on their way back from the Hajj. He went to the site. Omar went to the site to answer
the call of nature. And he said I went with him to give him some water.

00:03:44 --> 00:04:26
			When he had answered the call of nature and returned, I poured water on his hands from the tumbler.
And he performed his widow. And even Abbas says I asked Oh chief of the believers. So this is when
Omar is the halifa right? I mean what meaning? Yeah amirul momineen? Who were the two ladies from
among the wives of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam to whom Allah said if you to return in
repentance, so this is sort of the hareem Surah 66 i a number four, Omar bin Al Khattab said to him,
I'm astonished at your question. Oh, Eben Abbas. The two women were our Isha and hafsa.

00:04:28 --> 00:04:59
			And he said, the story he explained the backstory to this idea, and it's quite a detailed story. So
you must bear with me, but it's very, very interesting. He said that I and an Ansari neighbor of
mine from bunny Romania bin Zayed who used to live in awali el Medina used to visit the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wasallam in turns. Okay, so Omar is saying him and his friend. They used to

00:05:00 --> 00:05:24
			who used to live on the outskirts of Medina like a suburb of Medina, he they used to visit
Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam. In tans, one day he would go. And the other day, Omar would
go. And you know, the day when he went home or would look after the business and the work that
needed to be done, and on the other day, his partner would do the same.

00:05:25 --> 00:05:38
			He said, when I went I would bring him the news of what had happened that day regarding the
instructions and orders from the Prophet sallallahu wasallam. And when he went, he used to do the
same for me.

00:05:39 --> 00:06:32
			And Omar goes on to say we the people of Quraysh used to have authority over our women. But when we
came to live with the unsired, we noticed that the unsavory women had the upper hand over there men,
so our women started acquiring the habits of the Ansari women. So here Omar bin Al hubub, he is
relating something so interesting, he saying that, you know, and mcca the culture was that men were
the dominant members of the family and they would, you know, whatever a man says goes and a woman
wouldn't kind of think of answering her husband back, right? And he's saying that now that they had
come to Medina, the culture was different. Okay. He said that here, the Ansari women, they were more

00:06:32 --> 00:07:07
			dominant. And so our women, the Macan women, they started to acquire the habits of the Ansari women.
And he says, once I shouted at my wife, and she answered me back, and I disliked that she should
answer me back. And she said, Why do you take it so hard? You know, why do you take it so ill that I
retort upon you? By Allah, the wives of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam also answer him
back. And some of them sometimes don't speak to him for a whole day until the might

00:07:08 --> 00:08:00
			Subhana Allah so here, Omar is being told by his wife, well, you know, why are you finding this so
hard to accept that I'm answering you back when Rasulullah sallallahu Sallam is wise also answer him
back. So obviously Omar got very upset. He says, what she said scared me. And I said to her, whoever
amongst them does, so will be a great loser. Okay. And remember that Omar Radioland, who He is also
the father in law of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam right? His daughter hafsa is married to
the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. And so he feels this very viscerally very personally, you
know, he doesn't want his daughter to be the cause of any pain, to Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi

00:08:00 --> 00:08:33
			wasallam. So he says, Then, I dressed myself, I got dressed, and I went to hafsa. And I asked her,
do any of you keep a law's messenger? sallallahu alayhi wasallam angry all day long until night. She
replied in the affirmative. And I said, she is a ruined loser, and she will never have success.
Doesn't she fear that Allah may get angry for the anger of Allah, His Messenger, and thus she will
be ruined.

00:08:34 --> 00:09:17
			And then he said to his daughter, don't ask Allah His Messenger, too many things. And don't retort
upon him. don't respond to him, answer him back. In any case, and don't desert him, you know, don't
give him the silent treatment. Demand from me, whatever you like. So he's saying to his daughter,
anything you want, ask me for it. As your father, I'll give you whatever you need. Don't put
pressure on Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. And then he said, and don't be tempted to
imitate your neighbor Arusha. In other words, in her behavior towards the Prophet salallahu alayhi
wasallam for she is more beautiful than you are, and more beloved to Allah's Messenger sallallahu

00:09:17 --> 00:09:24
			alayhi wa sallam. So if we take a pause here, all I have is saying to his daughter, look,

00:09:25 --> 00:09:59
			he's saying to her, first of all, don't put pressure on Rasulullah sallallahu wasallam, in terms of
material things, and this was something that some of the wives of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi
wasallam had started to find difficult, this kind of very austere life, especially since in Medina
the riches and the wealth had started to pour in, and people's general standard of living had
increased, right, but Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he still wanted and insisted that his
father

00:10:00 --> 00:10:35
			live a very simple life. And so they didn't have the luxuries that some of the other people had
started to have. And so some of the wives of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam had complained
to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam about this and how difficult they were finding, living
this austere life. So Omar is saying to his daughter, don't put pressure on Rasulullah sallallahu
alayhi wasallam. Don't make him feel uncomfortable with this austere life that he's chosen If you
need anything, ask me as your father.

00:10:36 --> 00:11:04
			And he's also rebuking her and saying to her, that look, I shatter the law on her she might be able
to get away with answering the Prophet sallallahu wasallam back because she's very dear to him and
and he's saying she's more beautiful than you. So don't try to copy her and think that you'll be
able to get away with the same amount of, you know, pressure in sha Allah after the break. We'll
continue the story and see what happened.

00:11:05 --> 00:11:11
			In this incident with Omar rhodiola, one who does come allow heroin or Salama eleiko

00:11:24 --> 00:12:10
			Welcome back. Dear brothers and sisters Salam aleikum wa rahmatullah wa barakato. We were speaking
about this interesting incident which Ibn Abbas asked Omar bin al hubbub about regarding one of the
verses of sorts of the hareem and Omar bin Al Khattab is narrating this story about how he went, he
heard that some of the wives of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to answer the Prophet
salaallah salam back. And so he got very upset because his daughter is one of the wives of the
Prophet. So he went to her and he really rebuked her. And he was saying to her, that if you want
anything, don't put pressure on Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam asked me as your Father,

00:12:10 --> 00:12:41
			right, because some of the wives of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. Were finding the austere
lifestyle and the lifestyle of Zeus of doing without of asceticism. They were finding it very
difficult. And sometimes they would complain to him and put pressure on him. And so Omar is telling
his daughter don't answer Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam back, don't try to get away with,
you know, answering him back. Even if our ishara de Landa does it. You mustn't do it.

00:12:42 --> 00:13:21
			Now, Omar goes on. And he says in those days, he says in those days, it was rumored that the Hassan
tribe were preparing their horses to invade us. My companion went to Rasulullah sallallahu while he
was selling them on the day when it was his turn. And he returned at night. And he knocked on my
door violently asking whether I was asleep. I was scared by the hard knocking that I heard. And I
came out to him. And he said, Oh, great, or terrible thing has happened. Okay, so this companion.

00:13:22 --> 00:14:12
			He is obviously the partner of Omar, who would go and stay with Rasulullah sallallahu wasallam and
learn from him, while Omar looked after their business or their work, and then Omar would do do the
same on other days. So on this day, his companion came back in the night and he's knocking on Omar's
door and Omar is getting scared. He thought maybe the Gohan tribe have come right to invade Medina.
And his companion said to a terrible thing has happened. So Omar says, I asked him, What is it have
Hassan come? He replied that it was worse and more serious even than that. And he added that Allah's
Messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has divorced all of his wives.

00:14:14 --> 00:14:59
			Now, can you imagine how Omar felt when he heard this? Omar said, I said hafsah is ruined. I
expected that would happen someday. So Omar says I dressed myself I got dressed and I offered the
fudger prayer with the prophets Allah Allah what he was saying, right so he went to the masjid and
he offered the Salah. Then the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam entered an upper room. So
basically in the masjid nabawi there was some kind of special extra space, some kind of little room
where the Prophet sallallahu wasallam could retreat. And inside there there was like a simple
mattress or something to lie down on and so are us.

00:15:00 --> 00:15:11
			Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam had left his wives left the huts in which he would, you know, be
with his wife. And he had retreated to that little room in a Masjid. And

00:15:13 --> 00:15:40
			so Omar saw that he entered that room. And Omar says, I went to hafsa. So obviously, he went to his
daughter, and he said, I found her weeping. And I asked her, why are you weeping? Didn't I warn you?
Has Allah's Messenger? sallallahu alayhi wasallam divorced you all? And she replied, I don't know.
And then she said he is there in the upper room.

00:15:41 --> 00:16:01
			So Omar says, I then went out and came to the pulpit and found a group of people around it, and some
of them were weeping. So basically, people had heard that apparently, Rasulullah sallallahu wasallam
has left his wives or he's divorced his wives, and they're sitting around crying because it's such a
terrible thing to happen, right?

00:16:02 --> 00:16:49
			So he says, Then I sat with them for some time, but I could not endure the situation any longer. So
I went to the upper room where the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was, and I requested to a
slave of His Will you get permission for them. Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam for Omar to
enter. The slave went in, talk to the Prophet about it and came out saying, I mentioned you to him,
but he did not reply. So Omar says, I went and sat with the people who are sitting by the pulpit, by
the member, but I could not bear the situation any longer. So I went to the slave again and said,
will you get permission for Omar? He went and brought the same reply as before. When I was leaving,

00:16:49 --> 00:17:04
			behold, the slave called me saying, Allah, His Messenger has granted you permission. Okay? So now
Omer is going to that little room in order to speak to Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.

00:17:05 --> 00:17:25
			He says, so I entered the Prophet salallahu alaihe salam, his room, I greeted him with the Salaam.
And I saw him lying on a mat without any kind of soft cover on it, no bedding on it. And the mat had
left marks on the body of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam.

00:17:27 --> 00:17:32
			He says, I said to him, Have you divorced your wives? Oh, Allah, His Messenger.

00:17:34 --> 00:17:37
			He raised his eyes to me and replied, No.

00:17:38 --> 00:17:42
			I said, Allahu Akbar. Oh Allah, His Messenger.

00:17:43 --> 00:17:58
			We the People of koresh, we used to have the upper hand over our women. But when we came to Medina,
we found the people whose women had the upper hand over them. So our women started learning this
behavior from them.

00:17:59 --> 00:18:46
			Once I got angry with my wife, and she talked back to me, I disliked that behavior from her and she
said, Why do you dislike that I talk back to you by Allah, that prophets wives talk back to him. And
one of them will even ignore him the whole day until the night I said to her, whoever does this
amongst them is a ruined loser, that she feels safe from Allah getting angry with her on account of
his messengers, anger. In that case, she will be ruined. So here, Omar is you know, trying to
lighten the mood really is telling the Prophet sallahu wa salam. We used to have it so good in
Mecca. You know, we are women used to listen to us, our wives understood that we were the heads of

00:18:46 --> 00:19:10
			the houses and you know, they wouldn't answer us back and here in Medina, you know, they've learned
these, these new habits from the culture and the women of Medina. And Rasulullah, sallAllahu
wasallam. On hearing this, he smiled. So you can see that although he had broken the ice, you know,
he had softened the mood a little bit.

00:19:11 --> 00:19:56
			So then Omar says, I then said, Oh, Allah, His Messenger. I went to hafsa. And I said to her, do not
be tempted to imitate your companion Arusha. For she is more beautiful than you and more beloved to
the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. So now again, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
smiled. Okay, so you can see Omo, he's being a great friend here. He's trying to lighten the mood,
and he's doing two things here, really, he's telling the Prophet sallallahu wasallam. We all have
this problem, right? He's basically saying to him, even I experienced this kind of thing from my
wife. And you know that the Prophet sallallahu wasallam is not alone in experiencing this. So that's

00:19:56 --> 00:19:59
			kind of like a way to kind of lighten the blow

00:20:00 --> 00:20:24
			Read and Write. And secondly, he's showing him that even though hafsa is his daughter, he is
rebuking hafsa on on for the sake of the Prophet sallallahu wasallam showing him that even if it's
my daughter, you are more important to me, you know, Rasulullah sallallahu sallam, you will happen
happiness is more important to me. You had a son Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.

00:20:25 --> 00:20:32
			And then, when Omar saw that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam smiled again, he said,

00:20:33 --> 00:20:53
			Does the messenger feel calm? And he said, Yes. So I sat down, and I cost a glance at the room, he
says, and by Allah, I couldn't see anything of significance, except three skins, so three animal
skins. I said,

00:20:54 --> 00:21:10
			invoke Allah, O Allah, His Messenger, make dua to Allah, Allah, his messenger to make your followers
prosperous, for the Persians and the baizen times have been made prosperous, and been given worldly
luxuries, even though they do not worship Allah

00:21:11 --> 00:21:35
			Subhana Allah so here Omar is seeing the situation of Rasulullah sallallahu wasallam. And what a
simple simple life he's living. And he's saying, Look at these other nations and their kings, you
know, they, they live in luxury. So you're assuming Allah make dua to Allah that we also become very
prosperous. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam sat upright?

00:21:36 --> 00:21:55
			And he said, Oh yBnL hubub. Do you have any doubt? These people have been given the reward of their
deeds in this world only. So Omar says, I asked the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam, ask Allah to
forgive me.

00:21:56 --> 00:22:15
			And then Omar explains the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did not go to his wives because of
the secret which hafsa had disclosed to Ayesha. And he said that he would not go to his wives for
one month as he was angry with them. When Allah admonished him for this oath, and then,

00:22:16 --> 00:22:44
			after 29 days had passed, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam went to Arusha First of all, and
she said to him, You took an oath that you would not come to us for one month, and today, only 29
days has passed. I've been counting them day by day. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said,
the month is also 29 days. And so then he said to Arusha

00:22:45 --> 00:23:16
			that he had given her the choice. Either she could stay with him, or she could leave, she could
choose not to be his wife any longer. If it was that she wanted more, you know, have a more luxury
luxurious life or more comfortable life, then she could choose to leave Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam, and he said to her, I'm telling you something, but you need not hurry to give the reply
until you consult your parents. And I shattered the law and has said

00:23:17 --> 00:23:25
			Do I have to consult my parents about this? Of course I choose Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam

00:23:27 --> 00:23:42
			in sha Allah in the next episode, we will continue the life of our Isha mother of the believers
subhanak Allah homo Behanding eyeshadow, Allah illa elantas Furukawa to bootleg Salam aleikum wa
rahmatullah wa barakato.
