The speaker discusses the idea that the Prophet system's statement about women being a bent rib means that women are considered a woman and men are considered a man. The speaker explains that men and women have a different way of verbalizing their behavior and that the Prophet system's point is that women will only flourish when both members of society take into account the way they act and speak.

			How do I understand the Hadith that the Prophet system said that women are like a bent rib?

00:00:09 --> 00:00:49
			So our scholars have interpreted this to mean that from the perspective of a man, a woman thinks and
acts differently, and from the perspective of a woman, a man thinks and acts differently, and rather
than harp on a particular phrasing, look at the spirit and the goal of the Hadith. The goal of the
Hadith was that the Prophet system was saying to men, don't be strict with your wives. Don't expect
your wives to act and speak and talk in a manner that you want them do. They have a different way of
verbalizing of engaging and so don't be that strict with them, cut them some slack. That is the
point of the idea. And this is actually scientifically psychologically very true. The way men think

			the way women think the way men talk the way women talk, what men think about what women think about
these are very different things. So rather than jump on one particular phrasing, look at the spirit
of the Hadith and the point of the Hadith, which is that the Prophet system is saying, cut your wife
some slack and women as well cut the men some slack and realize that men and women act and talk and
react differently and the marriage will only flourish when both genders take that into account.
