Here we go.
Assalamu alaikum, and welcome back to the calligraphy awards right
here in Cape Town. With me, I have the honor of speaking to Sheik
Gabriels, who's joined us this evening, as well as salaam
alaikum. Sheik walaikum, salaam Lukman, it's wonderful to be with
you again, man, lovely to see you. You're looking well, such a
beautiful event we are experiencing here this evening.
Can you kindly tell us what what this means to Cape Town, Allah.
Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but
with such a function, it increased the beauty and the barakah and the
rule of Cape Town. And I was just saying to a few people, now, any
function to do with the Quran is unique. I mean, there are a lot of
beautiful functions, but to
do with the Quran, the book of Allah. And it's amazing that we
have people from China, from Turkey, even our local students,
that are professional artists in the calligraphy of the Quran. And
I mean, there are a lot of artists in the world, but the best artists
are people that are to do with the Quran. Subhanallah Allah has
honored him, subhanAllah Sheik. This is such a momentous occasion,
especially for Cape Town as well, and also for budding artists. And
I think, you know, during covid, certain skills were exacerbated
and highlighted, and one of the artists, well, what message do you
have for the budding artists of Cape Town? So, you know, because
of this function and because what I've seen here, I want to motivate
our young people, young boys and young girls, to go into this field
of having the honor to write, you know, ayah of the Quran and
inshallah one day, even you can maybe Allah grant You an opening,
you know, write the whole
Quran SubhanAllah. And this is a motivation for all South Africans
and for people beyond South Africa to make time for the Quran and to
be connected to the Quran. We two weeks away from Ramadan now as
well. And all of this, you know, the feeling of Ramadan exacerbates
when we see events like this as well. Any message to the ummah?
Yeah. So this is a built up for Ramadan, the month of the Quran.
Ramadan. So make time for the Quran. This is the greatest Ummah
ever, like it's confirmed in the Quran, but this ummah has taken a
dip because we have neglected the Quran. So alhamdulillah, ground is
another opportunity. So connect yourself the Quran, and I will
motivate everybody to make time to read the Quran. We just had a lady
in Portland's Mitchell, where I am.
She was a priest. She embraced Islam. She died on course in
covid. Her husband told me, three weeks ago, Sheik, my wife, in the
five years that she was Muslim, she read the translation Quran 14
times. That must be a motivation for all of us to read and read the
Quran and understand the Quran and then implement inshallah. Check to
zakala. So much for your time. Have a wonderful evening, and we
look forward to chatting to you again inshallah. And
that's one of our interviews right here in Cape Town with Sheik
Gabriels, uh, we're going to bring you some other interviews a bit
later as well. So don't get any Richard, anywhere. Tune in to
channel 347, Hilal TV. You.
