Friday night October the eighth 2021 it is hamdulillah beautiful weather outside, not too cold nice and fresh. But we need some sunshine we definitely need some sunshine it's been it's been too long with this cloudy British weather that kind of life is a little bit difficult upon every single one of us I think. So we need to make lots of data to Allah subhanho wa Taala that we get some sunshine and that things sort of brighten up a little bit and
and I have the law
so there we go. Finally live there on Instagram it took some time for that one to connect. Hope everyone is doing well. It's a beautiful Friday and we had Jamal today Today we're talking about the name of Allah Subhana which Allah assitive which is very interesting because we could say a city or a city or the more common way of saying this name Allah subhana wa tada is a city and many of the Arab brothers were actually coming to me after Juma and saying you made a mistake it's not a severe it is a setup. But really the name of Allah Subhana Allah mentioned in a Hadith of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is that Allah Subhana Allah, Allah Hayyim setif so he is the who is
Allah spanaway data the name of Allah is severe, the one who conceals since right this concealer of since and that's what we learned today Alhamdulillah
in Jumeirah, and now we're going to continue our chapter on the etiquettes of the mustard we're going to talk about a few things that are very interesting with regards to the masjid many of us have been going to the masjid for a long long time since we were children. And when we think of you know someone who's new to Islam when they come to the mustard there's a lot of different things different experience that every single person gets. And it's a different experience regardless of whether you go to one Masjid every single day, there's always going to be different people there and different people bring different you know, experiences but also traveling when you travel the world
and you go to different countries you'll notice that there's a lot of different ways of doing things a lot of massage it you know, have their methods of implementing certain things within the community.
So that is something to keep in mind in sha Allah Allah I know many of the scholars talk about traveling, you know, when you travel the world and you go from place to place, you have to keep in mind the type of people that you're interacting with who you're talking to, you know, praying in certain places like for example, I've been to certain countries where when you go the majority of the people are following the Hanafi madhhab for example so you go in you start yourself out and walk off and instead of placing your hands lower, right lower.
You can't see it on that camera but lower right, you might Place your hands here and then people like criticize and say what are you what are you doing? And so you might also hear the Imam reciting and finish Surah Fatiha unreached what a ball lean and you expected the whole mustard would be saying mean and you're like the only person they're going
right? So how Allah so I've experienced that and I've been traveling for quite some time and been to many different massages many different things that I've seen, I've seen things that are permissible in the gene things that are impermissible I've seen things happening at massages that are impermissible. I've seen grave worshipping at massage it around the world I've seen you know,
shrines built within masajid I've seen graves placed right in the front of where the Imam is standing, right where every single prayer that basically standing in prayer facing a grave of a pious person. These are things that you would think are only found in books right? For many people especially born and raised here in Canada you think this is only something it's something of the past something that we hear people talking about. One day in shot a lot of data, you'll travel with us and we'll go somewhere together. And I'll show you all of these things, you know different things that we can learn from and we have to keep in mind how important it is as Muslims to implement our
Deen and to make sure that we stand strong by it right? We can't just say we're Muslim, and that's the end of it. No, we're Muslim and we stand by it and we do what is right according to the deen of Allah subhanho wa Taala
So let's look at a few things inshallah we're not going to talk about what I just finished mentioning.
Can you please come on? Okay, so no Moosa I'm not sharing my screen right now this is not a time a platform right now where I share screens. This is a class that I have that is a weekly class. And so if you'd like to connect with me, send me a message in sha Allah and we can see what the issue is and how we can you know help you with whatever it is that you're going through.
Alright, so today we start with his Bab adapter here to mustard there in the do hulan mustard. When we enter the masjid, there is this thing called to hear to the masjid right welcoming the mustard and welcoming us into the masjid right so we come to the masjid. What do we do the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam encouraged us to pray to Raka right to Raka we see this in the hadith of cortada rB cortada salami
wrote the Allahu I'm where he says another sort of why he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam a call. Verily the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, either had a common Masjid failure care Raka at any club Billa any edulis the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said when one of you enters the masjid then prays to Raka before sitting down. So before sitting down in the mustard Now, is this something that is wajib compulsory? Or is it something that is a Sunnah, the mass majority of the scholars when you compare worldwide will say that this is something that is between us some Naval Academy, and something that is considered wajib. I personally consider it to be something that
is wedges. This is what we were taught from our teachers. But there's an element of an application of this, these two indica that we need to sort of understand there are certain times in the day in the life of a Muslim where praying is not something that that is encouraging what I mean by praying is like making such during certain times, like the time of sunrise during the sunrise, during the time where the sun is at its zenith, at its peak, and during the time when the sun is setting these three times are times when as Muslims we are discouraged from
from praying right not from making dua or from reciting Quran or doing any sort of Vicar but from praying and making such a bowing down. Why because
there were times in history where people even up until today worship the stars, the sun, the moon, and they bow down to it they prostrate to things other than Allah subhana wa tada one of the things that people bow down to is the sun. And so when the sun is at Zenith people think oh, it's so great. This is the time when we need to be asking from the sun, whether you have to be there was no way to protect us that shift, right and then the time when the sun is rising, be like oh my god, it's so beautiful. And they're like, you know, praising the sun or asking from the sun, right? And it's a time when it's impermissible to do that. And sometimes people you'll you'll find nations of people,
instead of just asking they will bow down in submission to the rising of the sun, the setting of the sun, or the sun at its zenith. So I remember our teachers in Medina you know explaining to us that when you enter the masjid if it's one of these three times where it's discouraged to make such a to Allah subhanho wa Taala then you can delay your to hear to Masjid until right after that time ends and if you enter when it is that time then remain standing you can make your firewall standing up if you need to sit down you can sit down and then as soon as the time is over, then get up and pray those two that okay okay, Allah Subhana Allah knows why you are not praying those to rock out during
that time so don't feel like oh my god I have to do this I have to do that I have to do this cultural any desire and we go crazy, right? No, we need to take it easy and think, think how do I apply Islam to my life? How do I apply Islam in a way knowing that Allah knows what's in my mind? What's in my heart? What my intentions are Allah subhanho wa Taala knows it. Okay? This doesn't mean that we can just go ahead and do whatever we want and Allah knows human is here, right? People say amen. Hakuna right? You know, Allah knows what's in my heart. So how Allah you know how many times have we heard stories of people saying you know of elderly or friends or you know, we see people in
the community where sometimes they're doing something you go and you speak to them, correct them and they say, Nope, if Allah knows Allah knows what's in my heart Leave me alone. I don't need to pray. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, right? That's that's not how it is. Allah subhanaw taala commands us to do something we do it. Right, we do it. We don't make excuses saying Allah.
knows so I don't need to do it. Allah knows how you feel, but you still need to do it. Okay, we still need to do it. Alright so that's that now.
We also see an example of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam during the Juma hotbar right? Sometimes people ask Do I need to pray these two Raka during the hotbar the to hear to the masjid and during the masjid write a welcoming greetings within the mustard.
Yes, but Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was delivering his Friday sermon is hooked up on Friday, and a companion came in and found a spot and sat down and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in the middle of his cookbook pointed at the Sahabi and told him stand and pray your tuukka right
stand and pray your tuukka so that teaches us that even though and you and I know as Muslims we think like wait a second is Jumeirah the clip was going on? Maybe I should just come in very quietly and sit down and not disturb that mmm what we're supposed to be early in the first you know first of all, but it happens at times where we get late you know we run into a red light or there's some hold up in the parking laws are we needed to make whatever the case is, and we get late. So what happens? Well, we don't want to disturb people but at the same time we need to pray. So you might find a spot close to the wall or on the corner in the back somewhere and you pray or to knock it then you make
your way forward or you just come up make your way forward. Don't worry that humans are so used to distractions in the hookah Don't feel bad don't feel like oh my god, I can't do this. You know everyone's gonna look at me. It's and if you feel that way, then pray in the back, right go to the back similar prayer to God and then come forward and sit down because some how Allah you'll find that a lot of people are shy to apply their Dean. They know they're supposed to do something but they're shy to apply their Dean because they're worried people are going to be looking at me to be honest. If you're standing praying and the hope is going on people's minds are not like staring at
you everyone's staring at you. That is the job of the Habib to make a super awesome important amazing attention grabbing
okay
my parents are watching they're gonna be like Dude, what's wrong with you today? You know feeling good or something? Yeah, just trying to make you super attention grabbing right? So that's what we need to do.
So that's that with regards to praying to get you to the masjid. The next thing we're going to look at in sha Allah Allah is fabu
ruffian Masjid, okay for the Liverpool Rue de fille, Masjid. What is this? Well, this is
the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, I'll just mention the Saudis insha Allah to Allah.
When one of you enters the masjid, he should consider
he is considered as praying Salah so long as he is there and busy inshallah as any Salah that prevents him from leaving the masjid. Okay, so one of the benefits of being in the masjid staying in the masjid remaining in the masjid because sometimes people are like, Okay well what's what's the benefit of staying in the masjid being in the masjid? Well from the benefits of being in the masjid is that when you go to the masjid is a lengthy Hadees you know the Hadees that says you make to make the window and you prepare yourself and you walk to the masjid right, that we took earlier last week or the week before.
And so now, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam continues it says and when he enters the masjid, he is considered as praying Salah as long as it is the Salah, which prevents him from leaving the masjid. Okay, so as long as you're there and you're praying, you're busy in prayer, then it is written that you are praying in the masjid. But in addition to that, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam continues and says, and the angels keep on supplicating to Allah for him, as long as he or she of course, remains in their place of prayer.
The angels say, Allahu Allah have mercy on him, along them of Fiddler who, Allah forgive him. Allah matoba la, Allah accept his repentance, so long as he or she doesn't harm someone
or break his or her will. So when we go to the masjid, remember from the benefits of simply being in the masjid is that it's written that we are busy in prayer while we're in the masjid so long as we're there and we went for prayer, and we prayed, but now once you're done praying and you remain seated, sitting in the place that you prayed, and all you're doing is sitting, this is how beautiful this Deen is right? You don't even need
To do much, as long as you stay there you remain seated in the place that you prayed.
The angels are making do for us they're asking a lot. Now you're you and I probably not even sitting there with our hands up in the air making your hand up but the angels are making draw for us. Can you imagine that? Pamela? Isn't that amazing? Yes, absolutely. And so the prophets all along it who was sending them, says,
Madame a few image Lucy lady is Salafi, yaku loon, so long as you stay in the place of prayer, where you were in you stay seated there. The angels say Allahu Allah have mercy on him or her, Allah him a fiddler who, or law forgive him or her, Allah to ballet, or law, accept his or her repentance, Malamute, the fi miralem, your death, right? So long as we remain there without harming someone, or breaking our rule. So all you did was pray your prayer, and stay seated where you prayed.
And the angels continue to pray and make dua to Allah for you. To be forgiven. To Have mercy for our repentance to be accepted. And what are we doing? Nothing. Just sitting down? No.
sitting down with Lou, but also not harming someone? What do we do as soon as the prayer is done? cemani Kumara moto wall said we're an equal more metal more brother. What are you doing? Why are you talking in the masjid while we are playing praying? You are in the back playing around and the Imam is trying to concentrate and you are doing this nonsense, right? This is what we do. Or I said Mr. Na Kumara moto. Sanam, where are they? Kumara mental stop for a while.
You're eating garlic and coming to the masjid Don't you know I can smell the garlic I want to be like, I want to be last stay home. I stopped a little while stopping a lot.
Or
a set of honey Kumara Metallo said na Kumara moto Brother, brother, you go in such that I can see the European backside, your back. Everything is showing us
if we get upset and just doing accents, but just for the fun of it, right not picking on anybody. What am I trying to point out here? The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says the angels continue to ask for our mercy. ask Allah for us to be forgiven, asked for us to
have our repentance accepted. So long as we sit there with little and we don't harm someone else, harming them with our tongues, harming them by saying things or doing something to them, we make sure that we are not going to harm someone else. Just sit there and do nothing. And Allah Subhana Allah will bless us through the door of the angels. And the longer we sit there, the more dry we get. Now people say
to each other, when they meet one another and greet What do we usually ask people?
We're leaving them we say, they don't have for me, me drawing for me, profits and the longer I do this, I'm encouraged that we make draw for ourselves, right? What happens is people ask others may draw from you may drive from me and they forget to make for themselves. But here as long as we're sitting there, the angels will continue to make draw for us. And this is why we should try to sit down after the prayer and stay seated that we don't even need to say anything. Another thing that we can do after the prayer and I've mentioned this before, it's not part of what we're covering today. But when we recite I have to of course see the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says nothing is
stopping us from entering into paradise after we pray and we recite Surah ayatul kursi Allahu Allah in love Well hi Europa, Yom leucaena Tawana no no Matthew summer what you wanna feel, man lineage? firmoo Isla De La MaMa Bina ad mama alfalfa What are your heat will be shining in mirroring me in LA v Moshe our car cool see you summer what you want to know what are you loving? That's it. As long as we say that, for so long. It was Selim says nothing is stopping you from entering into paradise, except the fact that you are still alive.
What does that mean? That means that Paradise is written for you, you just submitted to Allah and you glorified and praised Allah through his words in the Quran. One of the most powerful verses I had to of course he and the Prophet sallallahu. It was something missing the last pen which had a lot
This so much. He loves it so much that nothing is stopping you from entering into paradise except for the fact that you're still in life.
So go live your life Alhamdulillah do what you need to do know that you're being forgiven. From prayer, to prayer to prayer, continue to pray your prayers on time. And Allah Subhana Allah is Forgiving us stop the sins that we're committing, stay away from evils. And guess what,
you'll see that life will start to feel so much better.
Especially if we're praying those prayers in the mustard, right? I know a lot of brothers and sisters come to the masjid on a regular basis, right? on a regular basis. hamdulillah right. But the point is that you wherever you are you don't miss your prayers. Okay, wherever you are, you don't miss your prayers.
All right, a few things to keep in mind. First of all,
when the Salah is done, you remain there, you don't quickly get up and rush. You don't get on your phone, right? We'll get on your phone and start like commenting and sending bad messages to others and stuff like that, that's harming someone else as well. And the door of the angels is just in our sitting and waiting and being there. Okay, and also
make sure that we don't harm anybody. Okay, make sure that we don't harm anybody saying something to others just remain like to yourself, just keep to yourself. Don't need to bother anybody else. Okay. The next thing that we're going to look at and show a lot of data is Joe was he still called Phil mustard? Okay, the Phil masajid. The permissibility of laying down reclining, laying back chilling
in the masjid, okay, is it permissible to do that? Somehow Allah so, law but bill is still caught from the masjid fucka destaca Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam to the masjid. While the rich lay here I'll offer the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he himself rested in the mustard we see this in the hadith of our dividing Zaid, even our sin rhodiola and, and the hora Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was stealthy and fill mustard worthy and that is Leah Anil okra. He saw the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam laying down reclining resting in the masjid and he put one of his legs over the other. So it's permissible to do that. And it's permissible to lay like that in
the masjid. And I know that sometimes we try to make Islam a little bit too difficult for us. We say stuff that a lot. Don't mean back. Don't lean against the wall. Don't do this. Don't do that. And I was one of those people as well. Back in the day. I remember when I went to mustard and never we.
The second trip I made to Medina, which was the first trip was when I was almost eight years old. The second trip was when I was 21 years old, right when I went to study in Medina, I would go to muster the number we every single day.
And for the first four years of being a student in Medina, I never leaned back or leaned against a pillar, it must have been because I felt, how can I lean against the wall or a pillar when I'm in the house of Allah Subhana Allah and the masjid of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, right? And I was I used to think to myself, I should never do that, right? And I would just sit up, right? Sometimes you can lean on the floor, but I would never like sit back and reclaim, especially when reciting Quran. It was something that our teachers taught us. You never lean back and recite and write, you sit up on your own, and you recite the Quran, and you never have your legs stretched out,
which we'll talk about in a bit, right? That's what I was brought up upon. But then as you learn, you realize, Allah wants life to be comfortable for us, right? And he tells the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam to tell us, right? Yes, zero whether to ask zero, right? make things easy upon the people and don't make them difficult for them. And so as Muslims, we should understand that hey, Allah Subhana Allah doesn't like come down hard, like super Shetty super hard, super strict on us as Muslims. No, Allah is trying to make things easy for us. This Deen is not a religion, oh my god, I need to do something differently. No, it's a way to live life. You come to the masjid, you can
relax. You can recline and he showed us through the son of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that you can do that it's permissible to do that. And so Al Hamdulillah
lachenal umeboshi min. Min cassville our, we have to keep in mind as well that when we are laying down in the masjid our our may become exposed depending on what you're wearing. Like if you go to
McCann you're in your home and you're laying in the masjid. And I've seen this right you go to Mecca, some people are so tired, so exhausted, they fall asleep, especially when you're performing hygiene, you go to Mina, they're in the tents laying down and their home is like wide open, you know, you got to make sure that you cover yourself. So as long as you're able to wrap yourself properly, make sure that you're going to stay covered, and you're always not going to become exposed, then it'll handle up but remember the Hadith of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. roofie, I'll call him and tell us the pen is lifted from three people, right? Three times when Allah
Subhana which Allah doesn't hold us accountable for our mistakes or shortcomings or anything. One of those times is the person who's sleeping had diarrhea stated, the person who's sleeping, if they do something that technically is sinful, but they don't know of it because they're sleeping, they're not in the right state of mind. They're not sitting for it. So we take a precautionary measure make sure that if you're resting in the mustard, you're going to cover your a little properly and then hamdulillah you might even be wearing this over right and your phone comes up or for sisters they're wearing something and you know, it might be ad buyer opens up or something of that sort or the hijab
slips off. Just make sure that you are going to try your best to maintain your, our being covered. And Alhamdulillah Forgive me, the brother is going wild vacuuming outside of my office.
And I don't know why cuz I just vacuum that met yesterday. But hamdulillah
There we go. hamdulillah. You stopped, right? So hopefully you could still hear properly. The other thing to keep in mind as well is
when resting, sleeping, or reclining, right relaxing, laying down in the masjid.
There are certain cultures that teach the Muslims it is not permissible or it is sinful to have your feet stretched out in the direction of the Qibla. Well, the reality is that
there is no proof or evidence that this is sinful for us to do. So is it permissible? Yes.
Is it advised for us to do that? Well, if a person does it, like a person wants to face the good life, right, let's just say the good lives in this direction. And I'm sitting reciting Quran and I'm tired and I want to recline I want to lean back. So I lean back, and my knees are hurting, and so on. So I stretch my feet out, my feet are now facing the direction of the Qibla Should I put my back to the Qibla because or my side to that could lead because I want to rest my like stretch my feet out. Now
you can remain facing the direction of the kudla. There's nothing wrong with stretching your feet out facing the direction of the Qibla. This is a cultural thing. It is something taught in certain regions of the world, we were brought up upon that as well that you should not extend your feet, stretch them out facing the Qibla but Alhamdulillah it is something that is not considered sinful, okay, it's not considered sinful.
Another thing to keep in mind is that when a person stretches their feet out, whatever direction they're stretching their feet out, they sometimes may be pointing their feet, the bottom of their feet towards
the shell for the most half is or you know, where the Quran is facing
out of etiquette. Again, we are discouraged from having our feet facing especially if it's very close towards the colon.
So just out of etiquette, right? So we're learning etiquette. We try to avoid that. But is it sinful if someone is tired and they're like man, I'm super tired but I can't do this. No, no, you can extend your feet out facing the Qibla lean back recline and continue your recitation your dog or your cat well that's fine, especially if you're in front of the camera but you're in mcca you're looking at the car but you wouldn't turn your back to the Garbo because you don't want to stretch your feet out. You stay looking at the cargo because hey, it's the cabin. Right? And there's blessings in being there. Haven't been in LA and looking at the cabin. Now.
The next thing we look at is jawas. Unknown Phil mustard. Is it permissible to sleep in the masjid? Well, the answer to that is yes. It is permissible to sleep in the masjid. It was a normal thing mustard, lemon, garlic, it is permissible to sleep in the masjid for someone who needs to do that. What I've got Canada's have a sofa or the alohar and home mountfield Masjid, the people of sofa right let's have a sofa the people who stayed in bed
You know in most of the Nebu and didn't have a home out of poverty and so on, they stayed there. They were fed by the people they were, you know, helped by the people they lived inside muster the number we just behind the home of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam they stayed there. Remember most of the Nebu was not the mustard that it is today. It was a place where delegations came and met with the Muslims and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam It was a place where tribes came and gathered, it was a place where children came and enjoyed themselves. It was a place to pray. Right? Of course, it was at times used as a hospital, right? Or even as an an old folks home or a place to
keep the elderly or those that were sick. Right they would camp there at times would be tents, a tent set up in the back of must have the ability for people to sleep and rest and recover from injury whether it was due to battle or old age or anything of that sort. In addition to that, and yes, I was just going to mention that for HUD
sleeping the mustard considered era t calf, the Sahaba Viola and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to perform at calf in the masjid. And generally and we're going to get to this anyways. But just to mention, yes, it could be considered urtica if you make intention for your T calf in the masjid, to remain in the masjid and Allah subhanho wa Taala Allah will bless you with that in sha Allah to Allah, so it is permissible to sleep in the masjid well can it even armadyl the Allahumma even armadyl the Allahumma he used to sleep in the masjid very often. In fact, this was before he even got married.
Where is it? I know here call Bharani Abdullah in our model D Allah and Omar Abdullah bin Amara De La Hoya and Homer told him told nothing. He said to him, and the whole Kearney and M will always share Boone as a la la who have invested in Nabi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. He says that even though the Allahu anhu told me, right that he used to sleep in the masjid of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he must have the neverwet and he was young. And he was
ours are not married, yet gay, still single.
And he used to sleep in the masjid of the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam never kicked him out or told him to go home. We also know abou to rob, who knows who abou to rob is, who is albuterol type it in, you know it, you know the answer to it, who was a buturo? This was a nickname given to one of the companions by the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam Abu Rob, who is that? La La Allah Bismillah? Who's going to get this one right? Who was considered a boon to rob
you should all know this. You should all know this. Very good tea 100007 right. And KQQKKQ Ali radi Allahu and I even started with Yamaha and he was married to Fawlty modeled Yolanda and her so he was the cousin of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. But he was also married to the daughter of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. So he was his son in law. And when he was arguing a little bit with his wife, faulty model, the Ella her and her, which shows us that it is normal for husband and wife to be on these terms sometimes. Well, he went over to the masjid to must in the next week, and he slept on the sand of mustard and every the floor of the mustard was sent right? And because it
was hot, and he was sweating, the sand had stuck to his body, like you're laying down in a sand
pit or by the beach, for example. Not on a blanket but laying right on the sand and you're sweating. Obviously your body is wet from the sweat and it sticks to you. And so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam went and found him in the masjid and woke him up and said wake up abou to rob, right. Go home to your wife to my daughter go. Right so Pamela so
the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam nicknamed earlier of the Allahu and able to rob in that instance in that occasion, okay. One thing to keep in mind though,
is that if someone is sleeping in the masjid, and
I know there might be children watching, but you can explain this to your children. My daughter who's seven just turned eight years old, actually asked me the other day about this, right.
So and that's because we mentioned it and our children hear these terms sometimes, right? So one thing to keep in mind is if someone is going to sleep in the masjid
They may
end up in a state of Genova right in a state of impurity. They might dream and dream of something where it may now need to take a whistle. So if that happens, we have to make sure that we leave the mustard as quickly as possible and take a hole so and don't remain that.
