The title "tafsir page" in the Quran provides insight into the history and meaning of the title, as well as the dangerous notion of "the way of the believers". The worship of the Prophet's name and the worship of Shaitan, which is a false god and deity, is a trap and dangerous. The punishment of people who turn away from worship and reject first-ever-ever-ever-ever-ever-ever-ever-ever-ever- any of their worship is recurring and will continue until eternity. The importance of integrity and honesty is emphasized, as it is linked to the great of Islam.

00:00:31 --> 00:00:34
			Welcome to a new episode of our tafsir

00:00:34 --> 00:00:35
			page by page.

00:00:35 --> 00:00:36
			Today we're on

00:00:37 --> 00:00:38
			page 87 of the Quran, which is the

00:00:38 --> 00:00:40
			5th Juz Surah Nisa.

00:00:41 --> 00:00:43
			In the previous episode, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala

00:00:43 --> 00:00:45
			mentioned a number of verses concerning the people

00:00:45 --> 00:00:47
			of the scriptures, those people who were given

00:00:47 --> 00:00:49
			revelations before us as Muslims

00:00:49 --> 00:00:51
			and the way that they responded

00:00:52 --> 00:00:54
			in terms of their disobedience, in terms of

00:00:54 --> 00:00:55
			their rejection,

00:00:55 --> 00:00:56
			in terms of the way that they would

00:00:56 --> 00:00:59
			disrespect and disparage that which Allah had given

00:00:59 --> 00:01:01
			to them. And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala mentioned

00:01:01 --> 00:01:03
			that Allah does not forgive the sin of

00:01:03 --> 00:01:06
			shirk and Allah may forgive anything other than

00:01:06 --> 00:01:07
			that to him so ever he will subhanahu

00:01:07 --> 00:01:10
			wa ta'ala and what that means that Allah

00:01:10 --> 00:01:12
			forgives anything else to him so ever he

00:01:12 --> 00:01:14
			wills meaning for the people who are upon

00:01:14 --> 00:01:17
			Tawhid because if Allah does not forgive shirk

00:01:17 --> 00:01:19
			for a person then surely Allah Azzawajal will

00:01:19 --> 00:01:20
			not forgive those people for any of the

00:01:20 --> 00:01:22
			sins because that shirk is enough for them

00:01:23 --> 00:01:25
			to enter into the fire. But a person

00:01:25 --> 00:01:25
			upon Tawhid

00:01:26 --> 00:01:28
			they have sins they have major sins and

00:01:28 --> 00:01:30
			wrongs that they did Allah forgives to him

00:01:30 --> 00:01:32
			so ever he will subhanahu wa ta'ala the

00:01:32 --> 00:01:35
			caveat in all of those scenarios is so

00:01:35 --> 00:01:37
			long as they don't make Tawba for the

00:01:37 --> 00:01:39
			one that makes sincere Tawba Allah forgives them

00:01:39 --> 00:01:42
			so for the disbelievers the sincere Tawbah is

00:01:42 --> 00:01:45
			to accept Islam and accept Tawhid and for

00:01:45 --> 00:01:47
			the believer the one who commits major sins

00:01:47 --> 00:01:48
			it is to turn back to Allah azza

00:01:48 --> 00:01:50
			wa Jal and repent and seek forgiveness from

00:01:50 --> 00:01:52
			him, subhanahu wa ta'ala.

00:01:53 --> 00:01:56
			Today we begin with verse number 51 and

00:01:56 --> 00:01:58
			it is similar in terms of the context

00:01:58 --> 00:02:00
			is still the same and the passages are

00:02:00 --> 00:02:02
			still speaking about the same issues,

00:02:03 --> 00:02:04
			and verse number 51 is the statement of

00:02:04 --> 00:02:06
			Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,

00:02:24 --> 00:02:26
			Do you not see

00:02:26 --> 00:02:28
			how those given a share of the scripture

00:02:28 --> 00:02:31
			now believe in idols and evil powers?

00:02:31 --> 00:02:33
			They say of the disbelievers they are more

00:02:33 --> 00:02:36
			rightly guided than the believers.

00:02:36 --> 00:02:38
			Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in the previous episode

00:02:38 --> 00:02:40
			as well and in this episode we will

00:02:40 --> 00:02:41
			see as well on a number of occasions

00:02:41 --> 00:02:43
			that Allah Azzawajal said to us,

00:02:45 --> 00:02:46
			do you not see?' meaning do you not

00:02:46 --> 00:02:49
			reflect?' And as we said in the previous

00:02:49 --> 00:02:51
			episode, this is important because when Allah azza

00:02:51 --> 00:02:53
			wa Jal is saying to us as Muslims,

00:02:53 --> 00:02:55
			as people who believe in the Quran, who

00:02:55 --> 00:02:58
			accept the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam, do you

00:02:58 --> 00:03:00
			not see? Meaning will you not reflect?

00:03:00 --> 00:03:02
			Will you not think about this? And that

00:03:02 --> 00:03:04
			is because those people that Allah ajawajal is

00:03:04 --> 00:03:06
			speaking about were also given scripture,

00:03:07 --> 00:03:07
			also had

00:03:08 --> 00:03:10
			prophets that were sent to them from Allah

00:03:10 --> 00:03:12
			Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, Musa 'alayhi wa

00:03:13 --> 00:03:16
			sallam, they were given revelation and prophethood just

00:03:16 --> 00:03:17
			as we have the Quran and we have

00:03:17 --> 00:03:20
			the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. But that

00:03:20 --> 00:03:22
			in and of itself is not necessarily enough.

00:03:22 --> 00:03:24
			If a person doesn't believe, if a person

00:03:24 --> 00:03:27
			doesn't strive against Shaitan, if a person doesn't

00:03:27 --> 00:03:30
			persevere and have determination to obey Allah subhanahu

00:03:30 --> 00:03:32
			wa ta'ala and stick to the halal and

00:03:32 --> 00:03:34
			stay away from the Haram, It's not enough

00:03:34 --> 00:03:37
			that you are amongst those people, that you

00:03:37 --> 00:03:38
			happen to be just born a Muslim or

00:03:38 --> 00:03:40
			that you have a Muslim name or that

00:03:40 --> 00:03:42
			your culture happens to be a Muslim culture.

00:03:43 --> 00:03:45
			Is not necessarily enough because had it been

00:03:45 --> 00:03:47
			enough surely would have been enough for the

00:03:47 --> 00:03:49
			Jews and the Christians and those other nations

00:03:49 --> 00:03:51
			as well. And so here Allah is saying

00:03:52 --> 00:03:54
			another example of this,

00:03:57 --> 00:03:58
			will you not look at, will you not

00:03:58 --> 00:04:00
			see, will you not reflect upon those who

00:04:00 --> 00:04:02
			were given a share of their scripture, meaning

00:04:02 --> 00:04:05
			that they were given revelation before us.

00:04:07 --> 00:04:09
			They believe in idols, evil

00:04:09 --> 00:04:11
			powers. The word

00:04:11 --> 00:04:13
			refers to anything that is worshipped besides Allah

00:04:13 --> 00:04:14
			subhanahu wa ta'ala.

00:04:15 --> 00:04:16
			So any type of shirk,

00:04:17 --> 00:04:20
			any type of worshiping, associating partners with Allah

00:04:20 --> 00:04:20
			'alaydu'

00:04:21 --> 00:04:23
			all of those false gods and deities

00:04:23 --> 00:04:25
			are called Taghut. All of them are Taghut

00:04:26 --> 00:04:27
			and Allah Azzawajal mentions this in a number

00:04:27 --> 00:04:30
			of places in the Quran as we have

00:04:30 --> 00:04:32
			mentioned already for example in Surat Al Baqarah

00:04:32 --> 00:04:34
			and so on And that is the term

00:04:34 --> 00:04:36
			therefore Tawgut refers to all of these false

00:04:36 --> 00:04:39
			gods. So someone may worship a Prophet of

00:04:39 --> 00:04:42
			Allah, another person may worship a stone, another

00:04:42 --> 00:04:44
			person may worship a saint, another person may

00:04:44 --> 00:04:46
			worship an animal, another person may worship some

00:04:46 --> 00:04:49
			type of nature or natural being, whatever it

00:04:49 --> 00:04:51
			may be. Anything and everything that is worshipped

00:04:51 --> 00:04:54
			besides Allah azza wa Jal, that is therefore

00:04:54 --> 00:04:56
			a false god and deity, in Arabic it

00:04:56 --> 00:04:56
			is called Tawgut.

00:04:57 --> 00:04:59
			Allah is saying that these people were given

00:04:59 --> 00:04:59
			revelation,

00:05:00 --> 00:05:02
			a share of the scripture. What does the

00:05:02 --> 00:05:05
			scripture call to? 1st and foremost, the Tawhid

00:05:05 --> 00:05:07
			of Allah, the Oneness of Allah, the right

00:05:07 --> 00:05:10
			of Allah Azzawajal to be worshipped alone without

00:05:10 --> 00:05:12
			partner. Allah Subhanu wa Ta'ala says concerning these

00:05:12 --> 00:05:15
			people, they believe in Taghut, they believe in

00:05:15 --> 00:05:17
			all of these false gods and they believe

00:05:17 --> 00:05:21
			in Aljibt. And Aljibt is anything which is

00:05:21 --> 00:05:23
			an evil power that helps a person to

00:05:23 --> 00:05:25
			turn away from Allah 'azawajal. So for example

00:05:25 --> 00:05:28
			fortune telling, for example sorcery, these are types

00:05:28 --> 00:05:30
			and examples of Aljib. This is what they

00:05:30 --> 00:05:33
			engage in. So rather than sticking to their

00:05:33 --> 00:05:35
			scriptures and the central message of Tuhid and

00:05:35 --> 00:05:37
			the worship of Allah Azza wa Jal alone,

00:05:37 --> 00:05:39
			they turned away. As Allah mentioned, as we

00:05:39 --> 00:05:41
			said in the previous verse in the previous

00:05:41 --> 00:05:41
			episode,

00:05:43 --> 00:05:46
			they purchased misguidance and they want misguidance for

00:05:46 --> 00:05:47
			others as

00:05:51 --> 00:05:51
			well.

00:05:56 --> 00:05:57
			And because of the way that they are,

00:05:57 --> 00:05:59
			because of their worship of the Tawhut, because

00:05:59 --> 00:06:01
			of the way that they believe in their

00:06:01 --> 00:06:04
			false ideologies and so on, and they say

00:06:14 --> 00:06:16
			that a person should be upon. So they

00:06:16 --> 00:06:19
			consider everything therefore that is unbecoming, under fitting

00:06:19 --> 00:06:20
			for a believer.

00:06:20 --> 00:06:22
			So they were considered the way of the

00:06:22 --> 00:06:25
			disbelievers which is everything which is unbecoming of

00:06:25 --> 00:06:25
			the believer

00:06:26 --> 00:06:27
			to be more rightly guided,

00:06:28 --> 00:06:29
			to be better

00:06:29 --> 00:06:32
			and more straight meaning on the straight path

00:06:32 --> 00:06:34
			than the way of the believers

00:06:34 --> 00:06:35
			and that is because of the way that

00:06:35 --> 00:06:38
			Shaitan has come and corrupted the way that

00:06:38 --> 00:06:40
			they think and that is the danger of

00:06:40 --> 00:06:42
			Shaitan. That is the trap of Shaitan. Shaitan

00:06:42 --> 00:06:44
			comes with a small thing and then over

00:06:44 --> 00:06:47
			time it continues and increases and increases and

00:06:47 --> 00:06:49
			increases until there is nothing left of the

00:06:49 --> 00:06:51
			remnants of the Tawhid that those people had.

00:06:51 --> 00:06:54
			Just look at Quraysh. Quraysh, we can trace

00:06:54 --> 00:06:55
			back their ancestry,

00:06:55 --> 00:06:58
			we can trace back their original religion that

00:06:58 --> 00:07:00
			they should have been upon all the way

00:07:00 --> 00:07:02
			back to Ibrahim and Ismail alayhi musalahu alaihi

00:07:02 --> 00:07:02
			wa sallam.

00:07:03 --> 00:07:05
			Then the Quraysh still have Hajj and the

00:07:05 --> 00:07:08
			Kaaba and Zamzam and Arafa and Mina and

00:07:08 --> 00:07:09
			Muzdalifa, these are remnants

00:07:10 --> 00:07:12
			from the times of the region of Ibrahim

00:07:12 --> 00:07:14
			and Ismail alayhim as salatu was salam. But

00:07:14 --> 00:07:17
			Shaitan came and he entered upon them idolatry

00:07:17 --> 00:07:20
			and idol worship and the false gods that

00:07:20 --> 00:07:22
			they believed in besides Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala

00:07:22 --> 00:07:25
			and he twisted every aspect of their religion

00:07:25 --> 00:07:27
			to the extent that even the one thing

00:07:27 --> 00:07:29
			that they still kind of hung onto, which

00:07:29 --> 00:07:31
			is the pilgrimage and the Hajj and the

00:07:31 --> 00:07:33
			Kaaba, even that's twisted.

00:07:33 --> 00:07:36
			So they have people making tawaf naked. You

00:07:36 --> 00:07:37
			have certain acts that the Qurayshaun are willing

00:07:37 --> 00:07:39
			to do such as going out to Arafah

00:07:40 --> 00:07:41
			and certain things that they changed

00:07:42 --> 00:07:43
			even in the one thing that he still

00:07:43 --> 00:07:45
			had kind of and

00:07:46 --> 00:07:48
			that is what Shaytan does. He corrupts, he

00:07:48 --> 00:07:51
			changes, he distorts so that person even though

00:07:51 --> 00:07:53
			they think and that is one of his

00:07:53 --> 00:07:55
			traps that they continue to think that they

00:07:55 --> 00:07:57
			are upon good, that they are worshipping Allah,

00:07:57 --> 00:08:00
			that they are worshipping something that is close

00:08:00 --> 00:08:02
			to what Allah Azzawajal wants but in reality

00:08:03 --> 00:08:05
			it is far distant and far removed from

00:08:05 --> 00:08:07
			that which Allah Azzawajal commanded

00:08:07 --> 00:08:09
			and that is the trap of Shaitan and

00:08:09 --> 00:08:11
			so here Allah ajazal is saying the same

00:08:11 --> 00:08:13
			thing. So therefore a person always needs to

00:08:13 --> 00:08:15
			be wary and careful of the traps of

00:08:15 --> 00:08:16
			Shaitan,

00:08:16 --> 00:08:18
			especially when it comes to acts of worship.

00:08:18 --> 00:08:20
			How many of our fellow brothers and sisters

00:08:20 --> 00:08:22
			in Islam across the Muslim world today are

00:08:22 --> 00:08:24
			engaged in acts of cover

00:08:24 --> 00:08:26
			of disbelief and bid our innovation

00:08:27 --> 00:08:29
			under the guise of it being something which

00:08:29 --> 00:08:31
			is good, something which is righteous, something which

00:08:31 --> 00:08:33
			is an act of worship.

00:08:33 --> 00:08:36
			So even an act of worship meaning generally

00:08:36 --> 00:08:37
			speaking, it could be called

00:08:38 --> 00:08:41
			or have the label of prayer or fasting

00:08:41 --> 00:08:42
			or charity or the

00:08:43 --> 00:08:44
			or some type of pilgrimage

00:08:44 --> 00:08:45
			but in reality

00:08:46 --> 00:08:48
			when you look down into the detail is

00:08:48 --> 00:08:50
			not what Allah commanded or legislated

00:08:50 --> 00:08:52
			and that is extremely dangerous.

00:08:52 --> 00:08:54
			And so the Muslim has to be someone

00:08:54 --> 00:08:55
			who is in shore of their religion,

00:08:56 --> 00:08:58
			constantly studying and learning and showing that what

00:08:58 --> 00:09:00
			they are doing in terms of their worship,

00:09:00 --> 00:09:02
			in terms of their belief, it is what

00:09:02 --> 00:09:04
			Allah commanded in the Quran, what the Prophet

00:09:04 --> 00:09:07
			commanded sallallahu alaihi wa sallam in his sunnah.

00:09:07 --> 00:09:10
			So Allah says concerning these people,

00:09:10 --> 00:09:12
			Allah Subhanu wa Ta'ala says,

00:09:19 --> 00:09:21
			in verse number 52, those are the ones

00:09:21 --> 00:09:23
			that Allah has cursed

00:09:23 --> 00:09:25
			and you will not find anyone to help

00:09:25 --> 00:09:27
			those that Allah has

00:09:27 --> 00:09:30
			cursed. Allah cursed them because they turned away

00:09:30 --> 00:09:32
			and the curse of Allah azza wa Jal

00:09:32 --> 00:09:32
			has

00:09:33 --> 00:09:35
			said before is to be removed

00:09:35 --> 00:09:37
			from the mercy of Allah and once a

00:09:37 --> 00:09:39
			person is removed from the mercy of Allah,

00:09:39 --> 00:09:41
			there is nothing for them except the punishment

00:09:41 --> 00:09:44
			of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. And so Allah

00:09:44 --> 00:09:46
			'Azza wa Jal says those who are cursed

00:09:46 --> 00:09:46
			in this situation

00:09:47 --> 00:09:49
			will have no helper besides Allah Subhanahu

00:09:49 --> 00:09:50
			Wa Ta'ala.

00:09:50 --> 00:09:53
			In verse number 53, Allah then continues

00:09:53 --> 00:09:54
			and says

00:10:00 --> 00:10:02
			do they have any share of what he

00:10:02 --> 00:10:02
			possesses?

00:10:03 --> 00:10:05
			If they did, they would not give away

00:10:05 --> 00:10:07
			so much as the grove of a date

00:10:07 --> 00:10:10
			stone. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says, do they

00:10:10 --> 00:10:12
			have a portion of what Allah possesses of

00:10:12 --> 00:10:13
			his kingdom?

00:10:14 --> 00:10:16
			Meaning why as Allah Azzawaj is saying this

00:10:16 --> 00:10:19
			in the next couple of verses, Allah Subhanahu

00:10:19 --> 00:10:20
			Wa Ta'ala is saying that these people rejected

00:10:20 --> 00:10:23
			the Prophet sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam, they rejected

00:10:23 --> 00:10:25
			the guidance that he brought and they considered

00:10:25 --> 00:10:28
			him meaning Muhammad sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam unworthy

00:10:28 --> 00:10:31
			of being chosen as Allah's Prophet and Messenger.

00:10:31 --> 00:10:33
			They said why were we prophets and messengers

00:10:33 --> 00:10:35
			or what we have is enough or what

00:10:35 --> 00:10:37
			we are is sufficient or we are the

00:10:37 --> 00:10:39
			chosen beloved ones of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

00:10:39 --> 00:10:41
			All of these different claims that they make

00:10:41 --> 00:10:43
			Allah aasawwajal is saying to them

00:10:44 --> 00:10:46
			do you own the kingdom of Allah, the

00:10:46 --> 00:10:49
			dominion of Allah that you choose what goes

00:10:49 --> 00:10:51
			to whom? You are you are the ones

00:10:51 --> 00:10:53
			who possess all of the shares and so

00:10:53 --> 00:10:55
			you are the ones who distribute them?

00:10:55 --> 00:10:57
			Do you have any portion of Allah's kingdom

00:10:57 --> 00:10:58
			or dominion?

00:11:01 --> 00:11:03
			And even if you did then you would

00:11:03 --> 00:11:05
			never give anything away because that is the

00:11:05 --> 00:11:06
			nature of humans.

00:11:07 --> 00:11:09
			The nature of humans is that there are

00:11:09 --> 00:11:11
			people who hoard, people who are miserly, people

00:11:11 --> 00:11:13
			who want to keep everything to themselves. If

00:11:13 --> 00:11:16
			Allah Azzawajal had given them the choice to

00:11:16 --> 00:11:16
			find

00:11:17 --> 00:11:19
			the one who was most worthy of Prophet

00:11:19 --> 00:11:19
			or the messengership,

00:11:20 --> 00:11:21
			they would have said Irrisas

00:11:21 --> 00:11:23
			and kept it with themselves even if they

00:11:23 --> 00:11:24
			were unworthy.

00:11:24 --> 00:11:26
			And so they are not befitting

00:11:26 --> 00:11:28
			of this station, let alone befitting of the

00:11:28 --> 00:11:30
			kingdom and the dominion of Allah Subhanahu Wa

00:11:30 --> 00:11:31
			Ta'ala.

00:11:32 --> 00:11:34
			Allah, ajaz, then says in verse number 54

00:11:34 --> 00:11:35
			continuing on this,

00:11:47 --> 00:11:49
			Do they envy people for the bounty that

00:11:49 --> 00:11:50
			Allah has granted

00:11:51 --> 00:11:54
			them? We gave the descendants of Ibrahim the

00:11:54 --> 00:11:55
			scripture and wisdom

00:11:55 --> 00:11:57
			And we gave them a great kingdom.

00:11:58 --> 00:12:01
			Allah is saying, 'Because of your envy, your

00:12:01 --> 00:12:01
			jealousy

00:12:02 --> 00:12:04
			from that which Allah has given to his

00:12:04 --> 00:12:05
			bounty to other people.'

00:12:05 --> 00:12:07
			So they were jealous of the Prophet

00:12:08 --> 00:12:10
			be the people of the scripture that Allah

00:12:10 --> 00:12:12
			chose him and made him a messenger of

00:12:12 --> 00:12:12
			Allah

00:12:13 --> 00:12:15
			outside of Bani Israel and the shulrah of

00:12:15 --> 00:12:18
			Israel, that Allah chose someone from outside of

00:12:18 --> 00:12:18
			their nation,

00:12:19 --> 00:12:21
			outside of their people to be the greatest

00:12:21 --> 00:12:23
			and most beloved of his prophets to him

00:12:23 --> 00:12:25
			salallahu alaihi wasalam.

00:12:25 --> 00:12:28
			Or the Quraysh, a similar example,

00:12:28 --> 00:12:30
			where they consider themselves to be more worthy

00:12:30 --> 00:12:33
			as individuals because of their wealth, because of

00:12:33 --> 00:12:35
			their status, because of their fame, because of

00:12:35 --> 00:12:37
			their power, whatever it may be they consider

00:12:37 --> 00:12:40
			themselves as individuals, as men to be more

00:12:40 --> 00:12:41
			worthy of the station of being a Prophet

00:12:41 --> 00:12:44
			and Messenger of Allah than our Messenger Muhammad

00:12:44 --> 00:12:47
			sallallahu alaihi wasallam. 'Am Yasudoon and Nas?' Is

00:12:47 --> 00:12:49
			it because of the envy that they feel?

00:12:49 --> 00:12:51
			The jealousy that they have in their hearts

00:12:52 --> 00:12:54
			for the bounty that Allah gave to other

00:12:54 --> 00:12:57
			than them? 'Fakad a'ina Aala Ibrahim Al Kitab

00:12:57 --> 00:13:00
			Allah A'Sajid says that indeed We gave to

00:13:00 --> 00:13:02
			Ibrahim and his descendants the book meaning the

00:13:02 --> 00:13:03
			scripture,

00:13:03 --> 00:13:05
			wal Hikmah and wisdom and we gave to

00:13:05 --> 00:13:06
			them

00:13:08 --> 00:13:10
			a great kingdom. We know that every Prophet

00:13:10 --> 00:13:12
			that came after Ibrahim Alaihi Salaam

00:13:12 --> 00:13:13
			is from his progeny,

00:13:14 --> 00:13:16
			is from there is from his his children

00:13:17 --> 00:13:19
			and included from them is our own prophet

00:13:19 --> 00:13:21
			sallallahu alaihi wasalam. And amongst them are those

00:13:21 --> 00:13:23
			who were given kingdom as well like Dawood

00:13:23 --> 00:13:26
			and Salima and alaihi mus salam. Not only

00:13:26 --> 00:13:27
			are they prophets of Allah but they were

00:13:27 --> 00:13:30
			kings and rulers. People that Allah gave to

00:13:30 --> 00:13:32
			them power and wealth upon the land as

00:13:32 --> 00:13:34
			well. And they were from amongst them prophets

00:13:34 --> 00:13:36
			who were not given those things. But Allah

00:13:36 --> 00:13:38
			gave to whomsoever He wills or gives to

00:13:38 --> 00:13:41
			whomsoever he wills that which he pleases. And

00:13:41 --> 00:13:43
			then you have our messenger Muhammad

00:13:44 --> 00:13:46
			that was given the greatest of honors by

00:13:46 --> 00:13:48
			Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. And that is why

00:13:48 --> 00:13:50
			Allah then says in verse number 55.

00:13:58 --> 00:14:01
			But some of them believed in it and

00:14:01 --> 00:14:04
			others turned away from it. Indeed, how fire

00:14:04 --> 00:14:05
			blazes fiercely enough.

00:14:06 --> 00:14:09
			Meaning some believed in it, meaning the prophethood

00:14:09 --> 00:14:11
			of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Some of

00:14:11 --> 00:14:14
			them believed in the bounty that Allah gave

00:14:14 --> 00:14:16
			to him, and so they accepted him as

00:14:16 --> 00:14:18
			the Prophet and Messenger of Allah. They obeyed

00:14:18 --> 00:14:20
			him and they believed in him and they

00:14:20 --> 00:14:21
			listened to him and they followed his ways

00:14:21 --> 00:14:23
			sallallahu alaihi wa sallam as we see in

00:14:23 --> 00:14:25
			the example of the many companions of the

00:14:25 --> 00:14:26
			Prophet

00:14:27 --> 00:14:29
			and those who followed them in righteousness and

00:14:29 --> 00:14:32
			goodness and belief. Wamin hooman sada'an,

00:14:32 --> 00:14:34
			but there were many others who turned away.

00:14:34 --> 00:14:35
			From the time of Quresh,

00:14:36 --> 00:14:38
			the people of Mecca and then the other

00:14:38 --> 00:14:40
			Arabs and those who followed on their path

00:14:40 --> 00:14:41
			today until today,

00:14:41 --> 00:14:44
			we are separated into these 2 groups, those

00:14:44 --> 00:14:45
			who understand

00:14:45 --> 00:14:46
			and believe

00:14:46 --> 00:14:49
			in the messenger salallahu alaihi wasalam and those

00:14:49 --> 00:14:51
			who turned away from him salallahu alaihi wasalam.

00:14:54 --> 00:14:54
			Allah

00:14:55 --> 00:14:56
			says and how far is enough

00:14:57 --> 00:15:00
			of a blazing fire for those who turn

00:15:00 --> 00:15:01
			away from Allah

00:15:02 --> 00:15:03
			and reject the revelation

00:15:04 --> 00:15:06
			and the prophets that Allah has sent. Allah

00:15:06 --> 00:15:08
			Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala then says in verse number

00:15:08 --> 00:15:09
			56 and 57,

00:15:10 --> 00:15:12
			now speaking about that issue of reward and

00:15:12 --> 00:15:13
			punishment,

00:15:13 --> 00:15:15
			those who turn away and those who believe,

00:15:16 --> 00:15:18
			those who accept and those who reject. Allah

00:15:18 --> 00:15:19
			'Azza wa Jal speaks about the punishment of

00:15:19 --> 00:15:22
			those who reject first in verse number 56.

00:15:23 --> 00:15:25
			Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says,

00:15:48 --> 00:15:50
			We shall replace them with new ones so

00:15:50 --> 00:15:52
			that they may continue to feel the pain.

00:15:52 --> 00:15:55
			Indeed, Allah is Almighty, All Wise.

00:15:55 --> 00:15:58
			Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says in this verse

00:15:58 --> 00:15:58
			concerning

00:15:59 --> 00:16:00
			the punishment

00:16:01 --> 00:16:03
			of those people who reject and turn away,

00:16:03 --> 00:16:06
			Allah says that they will be guided towards

00:16:06 --> 00:16:06
			the fire.

00:16:08 --> 00:16:10
			We will lead them towards the fire and

00:16:10 --> 00:16:11
			that will be their punishment

00:16:12 --> 00:16:14
			and that is where they will reign or

00:16:14 --> 00:16:16
			reside therein for eternity.

00:16:17 --> 00:16:18
			Throughout the Quran, Allah

00:16:18 --> 00:16:20
			gives to us descriptions of that punishment

00:16:21 --> 00:16:23
			in terms of the food of the people

00:16:23 --> 00:16:23
			of the fire,

00:16:24 --> 00:16:26
			the drink of the people of the fire,

00:16:26 --> 00:16:28
			the way that the fire encompasses them, how

00:16:28 --> 00:16:30
			they will live and reside in the fire

00:16:30 --> 00:16:33
			and this is an example of that. And

00:16:33 --> 00:16:34
			it is one of the most graphic examples

00:16:34 --> 00:16:37
			of the punishment of the fire. Allah subhanahu

00:16:37 --> 00:16:38
			wa ta'ala says,

00:16:41 --> 00:16:44
			every single time their skin is melted and

00:16:44 --> 00:16:47
			burned away because that fire is extremely fierce.

00:16:47 --> 00:16:49
			As the prophet told us salallahu alaihi wasalam

00:16:50 --> 00:16:51
			when he was comparing the fire of this

00:16:51 --> 00:16:53
			world to the fire of the next life,

00:16:55 --> 00:16:56
			he said that the fire of this dunya

00:16:57 --> 00:16:59
			is one of 70 parts of the fire

00:16:59 --> 00:17:01
			of the next life. 1 70th meaning the

00:17:01 --> 00:17:04
			fire of Yomul Qiyama burns

00:17:04 --> 00:17:06
			70 times stronger,

00:17:06 --> 00:17:08
			more fiercer than the fire of this dunya.

00:17:09 --> 00:17:10
			And we all know what a fire can

00:17:10 --> 00:17:12
			do in this world, how it can destroy

00:17:13 --> 00:17:16
			and burn and decimate everything in its path.

00:17:16 --> 00:17:18
			We've seen those pictures of wildfires

00:17:19 --> 00:17:21
			and the way that they destroy forests. We've

00:17:21 --> 00:17:22
			seen the way fires go through a house

00:17:22 --> 00:17:25
			and buildings. We've seen the way fire can

00:17:25 --> 00:17:27
			encompass and consume everything that is in its

00:17:27 --> 00:17:29
			path by Allah's permission.

00:17:29 --> 00:17:32
			Now we imagine that 70 times stronger,

00:17:33 --> 00:17:36
			70 times more fierce, 70 times more ferocious,

00:17:36 --> 00:17:37
			70 times

00:17:38 --> 00:17:40
			greater in terms of its burning power. That

00:17:40 --> 00:17:42
			is what the people of the fire will

00:17:42 --> 00:17:42
			have.

00:17:44 --> 00:17:46
			So every single time that they are burned,

00:17:47 --> 00:17:49
			Allah tells us in the Quran that only

00:17:49 --> 00:17:51
			no, it's not only the external things that

00:17:51 --> 00:17:53
			are burned, internally as well, elsewhere in the

00:17:53 --> 00:17:56
			Quran. So what they eat, what they drink,

00:17:56 --> 00:17:58
			what they consume inside, it burns. But the

00:17:58 --> 00:18:01
			physical outer such stuff burns as well. Their

00:18:01 --> 00:18:02
			skins will burn

00:18:03 --> 00:18:04
			and they will melt away

00:18:04 --> 00:18:06
			and a person will think that once their

00:18:06 --> 00:18:09
			flesh has burned and gone, that's it, it's

00:18:09 --> 00:18:11
			done. But Allah says,

00:18:13 --> 00:18:16
			we will continue to replace their skin and

00:18:16 --> 00:18:19
			their flesh with new flesh and skin. So

00:18:19 --> 00:18:21
			it's not the end but as we know

00:18:21 --> 00:18:23
			it is a recurring continuous

00:18:23 --> 00:18:24
			punishment

00:18:24 --> 00:18:25
			on until

00:18:25 --> 00:18:26
			all of eternity

00:18:27 --> 00:18:28
			and so Allah

00:18:31 --> 00:18:33
			says, we will give to them new skin,

00:18:33 --> 00:18:35
			new flesh so that it will burn again

00:18:35 --> 00:18:37
			and when it burns it will be replaced

00:18:37 --> 00:18:39
			a third time and a fourth and so

00:18:39 --> 00:18:40
			on and so forth.

00:18:41 --> 00:18:43
			So that they may continue

00:18:43 --> 00:18:44
			to taste the punishment,

00:18:44 --> 00:18:46
			that they may continue to experience

00:18:47 --> 00:18:48
			the pain that Allah has

00:18:49 --> 00:18:50
			decreed upon them.

00:18:52 --> 00:18:53
			For indeed Allah

00:18:54 --> 00:18:56
			is almighty and he is always subhanahu wa

00:18:56 --> 00:18:59
			ta'ala in verse number 57 Allah azza wa

00:18:59 --> 00:19:00
			jal then gives to us the

00:19:02 --> 00:19:05
			glad tidings and the rewards of those who

00:19:05 --> 00:19:05
			believe,

00:19:06 --> 00:19:08
			those who accept, those who follow the way

00:19:08 --> 00:19:10
			of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam.

00:19:33 --> 00:19:35
			As for those who believe and do good

00:19:35 --> 00:19:38
			deeds, We shall admit them into gardens graced

00:19:38 --> 00:19:40
			with flowing streams, and then they will remain

00:19:40 --> 00:19:41
			forever.

00:19:41 --> 00:19:43
			They will have pure spouses there, and we

00:19:43 --> 00:19:46
			shall admit them into cool refreshing shade. Allah

00:19:46 --> 00:19:48
			Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says that the people of

00:19:48 --> 00:19:49
			Iman,

00:19:49 --> 00:19:52
			the people of righteous deeds, the people of

00:19:52 --> 00:19:54
			belief, the people who accepted what the Prophet

00:19:54 --> 00:19:56
			brought to allahu alaihi wa sallam and obeyed

00:19:56 --> 00:19:58
			him, they will enter into Jannah,

00:19:58 --> 00:20:01
			gardens under which rivers flow,

00:20:01 --> 00:20:04
			and they will remain therein forever. Just as

00:20:04 --> 00:20:05
			the people of the fire remain therein forever,

00:20:06 --> 00:20:08
			the people of Jannah also remain therein forever.

00:20:11 --> 00:20:12
			They will have pure spouses.

00:20:12 --> 00:20:14
			So the people of Jannah, as we know,

00:20:14 --> 00:20:16
			Allah Azza wa Jal will remove from them

00:20:16 --> 00:20:18
			everything from this life that was considered to

00:20:18 --> 00:20:21
			be impure, that was considered to be filthy.

00:20:21 --> 00:20:22
			So they will not need to go to

00:20:22 --> 00:20:23
			the bathroom

00:20:24 --> 00:20:26
			and and urinate or defecate a crimea qum'ula.

00:20:26 --> 00:20:28
			They will not become ill and sick in

00:20:28 --> 00:20:30
			the way that people in this life become

00:20:30 --> 00:20:32
			ill and sick. They will not become frail

00:20:32 --> 00:20:34
			and old and infirm in the way that

00:20:34 --> 00:20:36
			people do in this life sometimes.

00:20:36 --> 00:20:38
			All of those things that are weaknesses,

00:20:38 --> 00:20:40
			they will be removed from the people of

00:20:40 --> 00:20:42
			Jannah. Allah will give to them a life

00:20:43 --> 00:20:45
			of goodness, a life of bliss, a life

00:20:45 --> 00:20:47
			of enjoyment, a life of reward.

00:20:50 --> 00:20:52
			Everything in Jannah is pure,

00:20:52 --> 00:20:53
			even their spouses.

00:20:53 --> 00:20:56
			Everyone is pure, everything in Jannah is pure.

00:20:58 --> 00:20:59
			And they will have everlasting,

00:21:00 --> 00:21:03
			cool, refreshing shade. And look at the, therefore,

00:21:03 --> 00:21:04
			the juxtaposition, the

00:21:05 --> 00:21:07
			distinction and the difference between what the people

00:21:07 --> 00:21:09
			of the fire have, what the people of

00:21:09 --> 00:21:11
			Jannah will have. The people of the fire

00:21:11 --> 00:21:13
			will be in torment and burning

00:21:13 --> 00:21:15
			and they will continue to experience that burning

00:21:15 --> 00:21:18
			forever. Whereas the people of Jannah are given

00:21:18 --> 00:21:21
			shade, they are given respite, they are given

00:21:21 --> 00:21:24
			coolness, they are given everything that they need

00:21:24 --> 00:21:26
			in order to live a blissful existence

00:21:26 --> 00:21:28
			by Allah's pleasure and by his command and

00:21:28 --> 00:21:30
			his mercy. Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

00:21:31 --> 00:21:33
			In verse 58 Allah Azzawaj then continues and

00:21:33 --> 00:21:34
			he says

00:21:50 --> 00:21:53
			Allah commands you to return things entrusted to

00:21:53 --> 00:21:54
			you to their rightful owners and if you

00:21:54 --> 00:21:56
			judge between the people to do so with

00:21:56 --> 00:21:59
			justice, indeed Allah's instructions to you are excellent

00:21:59 --> 00:22:01
			for he hears and sees everything.

00:22:02 --> 00:22:03
			Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala commands us with a

00:22:03 --> 00:22:05
			number of things here, that it is from

00:22:05 --> 00:22:07
			the attributes of the believer,

00:22:07 --> 00:22:09
			that the believer is someone who has integrity

00:22:09 --> 00:22:11
			and is honest and truthful,

00:22:11 --> 00:22:13
			And from that integrity is that they return

00:22:13 --> 00:22:15
			the trust that were given to them. So

00:22:15 --> 00:22:18
			when you are entrusted with something, whatever their

00:22:18 --> 00:22:18
			responsibility

00:22:19 --> 00:22:20
			is, it may be a job, it may

00:22:20 --> 00:22:22
			be a role that you play within your

00:22:22 --> 00:22:23
			community and in your society

00:22:24 --> 00:22:25
			or it may be a physical trust that

00:22:25 --> 00:22:27
			someone gives to you and says look after

00:22:27 --> 00:22:30
			this for me. I entrust you with this

00:22:30 --> 00:22:32
			for your safe in your safe keeping that

00:22:32 --> 00:22:33
			you will return it to me at some

00:22:33 --> 00:22:35
			point. All of those types of trust

00:22:36 --> 00:22:38
			are things that the person should fulfill to

00:22:38 --> 00:22:40
			the best of their ability. That is something

00:22:40 --> 00:22:41
			which Allah aza wa jal,

00:22:42 --> 00:22:42
			Allah

00:22:42 --> 00:22:44
			loves and that is because it is from

00:22:44 --> 00:22:46
			the signs of hypocrisy

00:22:46 --> 00:22:48
			that a person breaks that trust, that a

00:22:48 --> 00:22:51
			person is entrusted with something that they accept

00:22:51 --> 00:22:54
			and that person that breaks the trust that

00:22:54 --> 00:22:56
			they were given in the first place. That

00:22:56 --> 00:22:58
			is something which is disliked amongst

00:22:59 --> 00:23:01
			the disliked in Islam and it is something

00:23:01 --> 00:23:04
			which is from the from the ways of

00:23:04 --> 00:23:05
			the hypocrites. Allah

00:23:05 --> 00:23:06
			says,

00:23:09 --> 00:23:11
			and if you are going to judge between

00:23:11 --> 00:23:13
			people then do it with justice.

00:23:13 --> 00:23:15
			And that is that a person does it

00:23:15 --> 00:23:16
			for the sake of Allah azza wa Jal,

00:23:16 --> 00:23:18
			they don't do it for any type of

00:23:18 --> 00:23:19
			wealth or wordly

00:23:20 --> 00:23:22
			praise or accolade they do it only for

00:23:22 --> 00:23:24
			the sake of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala

00:23:24 --> 00:23:26
			and so a person who judges must be

00:23:26 --> 00:23:28
			just and if you cannot be just or

00:23:28 --> 00:23:30
			you have a vested interest then you seek

00:23:30 --> 00:23:33
			to recuse yourself, you apologize, you say this

00:23:33 --> 00:23:36
			isn't for me, you withdraw from that situation.

00:23:36 --> 00:23:38
			But if you're going to judge then you

00:23:38 --> 00:23:40
			must be just. You must listen to both

00:23:40 --> 00:23:42
			sides fairly and you must weigh up what

00:23:42 --> 00:23:44
			they bring to you to the table and

00:23:44 --> 00:23:47
			then you deal in that issue in a

00:23:47 --> 00:23:48
			way that is fair and just and that

00:23:48 --> 00:23:49
			is because Allah loves

00:23:50 --> 00:23:52
			these two aspects. Number 1, that a person

00:23:52 --> 00:23:53
			has integrity,

00:23:54 --> 00:23:56
			has truthfulness, has honesty and number 2 that

00:23:56 --> 00:23:58
			they are fair and just and both of

00:23:58 --> 00:24:00
			these issues are linked with one another and

00:24:00 --> 00:24:03
			they are from the greatest of of characteristics

00:24:03 --> 00:24:04
			and attributes that a person

00:24:05 --> 00:24:05
			can

00:24:06 --> 00:24:06
			hold.

00:24:08 --> 00:24:10
			Allah says that indeed what Allah

00:24:11 --> 00:24:12
			instructs you towards,

00:24:13 --> 00:24:16
			reminds you of is from the most blessed

00:24:16 --> 00:24:18
			and most excellent of affairs. And

00:24:19 --> 00:24:22
			remember that Allah knows and hears and sees

00:24:22 --> 00:24:23
			everything that you do.

00:24:24 --> 00:24:25
			In the final verse in today's episode, Allah

00:24:25 --> 00:24:27
			says in verse number 59.

00:24:47 --> 00:24:49
			Allah and his messenger and those in authority

00:24:49 --> 00:24:51
			amongst you. And if you are in dispute

00:24:51 --> 00:24:53
			of any matter referring to Allah and his

00:24:53 --> 00:24:55
			Messenger. If you truly believe in Allah, then

00:24:55 --> 00:24:57
			I stay that is better and fairer in

00:24:57 --> 00:25:00
			the end. Allah subhanahu ta'ala gives to us

00:25:00 --> 00:25:02
			this amazing verse that is the principle

00:25:02 --> 00:25:04
			and the if you like the bedrock of

00:25:04 --> 00:25:06
			the way that the Muslims should be. The

00:25:06 --> 00:25:08
			foundation of Islam is in these issues and

00:25:08 --> 00:25:11
			affairs. Number 1, the obedience of Allah

00:25:11 --> 00:25:13
			and number 2, the obedience of the Prophet

00:25:13 --> 00:25:15
			salallahu alaihi wasalam. In everything that you do,

00:25:15 --> 00:25:18
			obey Allah's commands, obey the commands of the

00:25:18 --> 00:25:21
			Prophet salallahu alaihi wasalam. And number 3, wa'ulil

00:25:21 --> 00:25:23
			amri min kum those people that Allah has

00:25:23 --> 00:25:25
			given authority over you. Allah azza wa Jal,

00:25:25 --> 00:25:28
			in society there are people who are given

00:25:28 --> 00:25:29
			certain cases of authority.

00:25:29 --> 00:25:31
			Those people of authority

00:25:31 --> 00:25:33
			have rights and from those rights is that

00:25:33 --> 00:25:35
			you obey them in that which they do

00:25:35 --> 00:25:37
			which is good. Who are those people of

00:25:37 --> 00:25:39
			authority? The scholars said that there are 2

00:25:39 --> 00:25:40
			types of people when it comes to Muslims.

00:25:41 --> 00:25:42
			Number 1 are the rulers.

00:25:43 --> 00:25:45
			Those people have authority over you. You must

00:25:45 --> 00:25:48
			obey them because what they decide and what

00:25:48 --> 00:25:50
			they decree, it is for the benefit of

00:25:50 --> 00:25:52
			the whole of the society. And so you

00:25:52 --> 00:25:54
			must play your part. And that's why it

00:25:54 --> 00:25:56
			is from the etiquette of the Muslim and

00:25:56 --> 00:25:58
			from the good points of Islam that you

00:25:58 --> 00:26:00
			obey those people who are in in charge

00:26:00 --> 00:26:01
			of your affairs

00:26:01 --> 00:26:03
			and the the rules that they place

00:26:04 --> 00:26:06
			and the laws that they set so long

00:26:06 --> 00:26:08
			as that there are laws that are good

00:26:08 --> 00:26:10
			and they are beneficial for the society,

00:26:10 --> 00:26:12
			they are to be obeyed. And that's for

00:26:12 --> 00:26:14
			example so when we are driving now we

00:26:14 --> 00:26:16
			have laws that determine the way that we

00:26:16 --> 00:26:19
			drive, laws of road traffic management and so

00:26:19 --> 00:26:21
			on, Those things must be obeyed because it

00:26:21 --> 00:26:23
			is for the greater good of society.

00:26:24 --> 00:26:25
			You can't come and say, no, that it's

00:26:25 --> 00:26:26
			not found in the Quran, it's not found

00:26:26 --> 00:26:28
			in the sunnah. It is found in the

00:26:28 --> 00:26:30
			Quran and the Sunnah in this verse. Allah

00:26:30 --> 00:26:32
			says obey them. Those are the first group

00:26:32 --> 00:26:34
			of people and the second group of people

00:26:34 --> 00:26:36
			as the scholars of tafsir said are the

00:26:36 --> 00:26:38
			scholars because they are the ones who instruct

00:26:38 --> 00:26:40
			you in terms of your religion. They tell

00:26:40 --> 00:26:42
			you what is Haram and Haram. They tell

00:26:42 --> 00:26:44
			you what Allah wants from you and what

00:26:44 --> 00:26:45
			Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala told you to stay

00:26:45 --> 00:26:47
			away from And so therefore in those affairs

00:26:47 --> 00:26:49
			you must obey them also because they are

00:26:49 --> 00:26:51
			guiding you to the path of Allah aza

00:26:51 --> 00:26:53
			wa Jal. And

00:26:54 --> 00:26:55
			if you dispute,

00:26:55 --> 00:26:58
			you don't know, you're going to disagree,

00:26:58 --> 00:27:00
			then what do you do? Turn

00:27:02 --> 00:27:04
			it back to Allah, turn it back to

00:27:04 --> 00:27:06
			his Messenger salallahu alaihi wa sallam because they

00:27:06 --> 00:27:07
			are the ones

00:27:08 --> 00:27:09
			who decide all affairs.

00:27:10 --> 00:27:12
			Our religion is based upon those two sources

00:27:12 --> 00:27:14
			primarily, the Quran and the Sunnah. So if

00:27:14 --> 00:27:15
			there is a dispute,

00:27:15 --> 00:27:18
			if there is something where we're unsure, if

00:27:18 --> 00:27:19
			we don't know what is the correct path,

00:27:19 --> 00:27:21
			we take it back to Allah and his

00:27:21 --> 00:27:23
			messenger, salallahu alaihi wa sallam. Allah says, if

00:27:23 --> 00:27:25
			indeed you truly believe in Allah and the

00:27:25 --> 00:27:28
			last day, that is better for you and

00:27:28 --> 00:27:30
			it is fairer in the end. And with

00:27:30 --> 00:27:31
			that we come to the end of today's

00:27:31 --> 00:27:32
			episode.
