So last week we were going through Babu de Sala, the chapter of the conditions of the prayer. And we stopped on the Hadith of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam which spoke about the issue of speaking in the prayer. And we mentioned last week that it was
permissible at the beginning of Islam, for a person during the prayer to talk in very limited terms, if there was a need to do so. And that this ruling was later abrogated by the prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. And the companions and the Muslims were forbidden to talk in any way, shape or form in the prayer. And we mentioned that based upon this, the scholars of Islam differ concerning issues of necessity, are you allowed to speak in issues of necessity or not? And we said that the majority of the scholars have a stronger opinion is that it is allowed that if there is a need and necessity, you can speak in limited terms, otherwise the awesome the origin is that you don't speak in the
prayer but rather eras for the spear for praising Allah morning fight on law and recitation of the Oregon.
We're still
speaking on this issue. So the author of Mr. Mahajan is now going to bring some other issues concerning this as well. So as a Hadith, concerning this whole general issue of speaking during the prayer, what is permitted and what is not permitted in terms of movement, action and in terms of speech or sound? So these are the Hadith that we're going through at the moment. So Hadith number 177. Where we finished last week, one motawi Abdullah and Misha fear Anna vehicle, right Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam a usaully if you saw that he Aziz Aziz remember gentlemen rubocop Raja Hamza 211, a measure, or even a ban on the authority of lithography beyond the leg in Sheffield, on
the authority of his father, who said that I saw that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam was praying, and from his chest, the keema sound like the whistling of a boiling pot due to his crime. And this is collected by the five accepted manager and authenticated by bam, this hadith is authentic. And basically what Rahim Mahalo to Allah After establishing the principle last week, in those previous ahaadeeth, that is not allowed to speak in the prayer is not allowed for a person to just talk to the person next to him or to anyone else in the prayer. Now, Rahim, Allah is going into the other issues that can be taken as some type of communication. So either movement, or either
speech, or either a sound, what types of sounds, what types of movements are allowed in the prayer? So if you can't talk, does that mean you can cry? Does that mean you can cough? Does that mean that you can, no, for example, whistle and so on, and so forth. These are the types of issues that he's trying to get to get through these ahaadeeth. So in this Hadith of the Prophet, sallAllahu, alayhi wasallam, as we know, the profits on the long run, he will send them what often cry during his prayer, so we'll be praying, and he would often cry, and the profits on the long run, he will sell him would cry, sometimes to the extent that his beard would rip with his tears Salalah wherever you
will sell them. And sometimes due to these excessive crying about the long run, I would say that she would touch the area where he would pray, and it would be wet from his tears, meaning there was so many tears that even the ground would be moist from his tears sallallahu sallam. And we know also from Abu Bakr on the long run, that he would cry a lot. And that's why during the death of the prophet or during those final days of the prophets on a low while he was in them. When he asked Abu Bakr to lead the prayer, his wife and the daughter of Abu Bakr, Arusha, the loved one has said, Ask someone else to lead because he is a person of a soft heart, meaning that he cries a lot during the
prayer. And so she said to the prophets of Salaam 10 or more to lead the prayer, but the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam insisted that Abu Bakr should do so. But the point here is that he would cry a lot. And it's also reported on our modafinil hottub rhodiola. One, that he would cry so profusely that the people behind him would find it difficult to understand his recitation, and that sometimes he would cry and because of how profusely would cry, the other people in the masjid would begin to cry, simply because of how much
He was crying, it would affect them, and they would begin to cry. And the whole mystery would be reverberating with the crying of the people. And so the point here is that crying is something which not only is it something which is allowed, but it is something which is recommended that a person has that connection with the book of Allah subhana wa tiarella. They understand they comprehend, they ponder over the meanings of those verses and in reflects their hearts softens your heart, and it leads you to crime. So in this Hadith, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was praying, and they describe his claim that a son would emanate from him. And it would be like the whistling of a
boiling pot. So when you have a boiling pot, and you place a lid on that pot, and that lid is moving, there is like a whistling sound, because all of the pressure from the boiling water whatever it is, is trying to go out. And so they would describe it in this way. So the point is that this is the only type of pain that is allowed or that you have to emulate this type of sound in your brain. The issue is to establish a principle that if a person prays, whether that be a you know, like a quiet sound, whether it be a loud sound, whether it be something which is continuous or something which is short, all of that is allowed an A shot on law, one of that is permissible and it doesn't
break the prayer. That is the real principle that Abraham Rahim Allah is establishing here doesn't affect your prayer doesn't break your prayer doesn't invalidate your prayer in any way, shape, or form. The next Hadith had his number 178 one rhodiola one wacol candidemia masala he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and Helen for come together at letona Holly Ravana sir Ewok numancia on the 4k value of the Allahu anhu said that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, I would enter upon him twice, meaning I had two times that I would enter upon him. But if I came to him and he was praying, then he would cough and I would leave. And this is collected by unnecessary and Hebrew magic.
This Hadith the scholars have different over its authenticity. Some of them said it was authentic. Others of them said that it is weak and they differ over a specific Murrieta, within this chain of narration. Some of the scholars said it is weak, some of them said that it is authentic. Either way, we'll establish what Rahim Allah is trying to derive from this Hadith, the principle that is trying to establish are the rhodiola one is obviously the son in law of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, one of the closest people to him. And so he would enter upon him. And as we know from the etiquettes of entering upon anyone, when you go to a house that isn't your house, there is an
etiquette and that is that you seek permission before you enter and you wait for the reply. And we know that a lot so Joel says in the Quran, yeah, you're living in a man who laughed at Hulu, boo, boo Chico needs to wait to sell the movie, Allah Allah, oh, you who believe don't enter into houses other than your own houses until you wait. And you give salams upon the inhabitants meaning that you seek permission. So whether you say a Salaam or they come and they reply and they allow you to come in whether you seek permission by knocking, whether you know you call beforehand whatever that means and mode of seeking permission may be as long as you then it is okay. But if not to do it. This is
something which goes against the etiquette of entering and visiting someone else. And so there is a principle established in the Quran. And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam also told us in the Sunnah, that when you go to someone's house, you seek permission three times, if you're allowed to enter, then you do so if not, then you return. And so it's not from the sooner that a person goes, and they knock once and twice, and three or four times and you're like, I'm not leaving until you open this door. Doesn't matter how long you take, right? Maybe that person's well at home, and often you see the car, their, you know, their home, you know, they're probably going to be there with
their family, maybe even hear the kid screaming from behind the door. Point is maybe they don't want to see you maybe they have some issue going on. Maybe there's a reason. So it's not an issue to get offended over. If you have permission granted within those three requests, then you enter. If not, then you leave. That's the right of that person in the house. They don't have to allow you. It's not alright that you have to enter into the house. That is a privilege that they afford to you. And so if they allow you to enter Okay, if not, then you leave. And there is a famous incident that took place during the time of Ramada deola one. One of the companions came to his house and he knocked
once, twice and three times he received no response. And he left and so he,
Amara de la Juan came out and he said to him, why did you leave?
He said, because I heard the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam say that you seek permission three times. And if not, then you leave for no permission is granted you leave. And someone said to him, either you will bring me a witness to this hadith or I will make an example out of him. Either you
bring someone that supports the, the professor Sonam actually said this, or I will make an example out of him. And so that companion became extremely worried that a homeowner, the loved one is going to deal with him unless you find someone to support him. And so he went to the companions. And he asked, and another companion stood up, and he said, I will be your witness. And the answer to that companion, who knocked on his door, he said, I wasn't accusing you of lying. But I wanted to teach the people the severity of this issue, meaning that you don't just make up statements, willy nilly about the Prophet sallallahu, alayhi wasallam, something serious when you're describing something as
coming from the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. But the point is that that became an established principle among the time of the companions.
So remember, the idea of the law one had two times during the day, that it was a custom for him to enter upon the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, so he would enter upon him during these two times. And so this shows that a permission can be granted in one of two ways. Either you seek permission, or is granted to you beforehand. So the person knows, for example, and this is normally for close family, you know, like maybe even give them a set of keys. If you give someone a key to a house, they don't need to seek permission. And if they enter into your house, then you can scream at them for entering into the house without knocking. Why give them the key in the first place. Or, for
example, you have this earth, this is a custom that you've established that this person visits you every day after the swan known, right, that's the norm everyday, it's like that normally fit. With close family, you normally normally have this, they come for dinner, maybe everyday or for lunch, every other day, or every once a week, they come and they eat, this is an established type of way. So they don't need to necessarily seek permission in that. In that instance, Michael is our little their loved one would come to the prophets of Salaam twice a day. So you had these two times that were type type times that were set for him more or less every day, he would come during these times.
And so he would say that if I came and he was praying, and he saw that I was coming, or he heard me trying to enter. And obviously during those days, they didn't have, you know, doorbells and didn't have letter boxes and so on. The houses were very primitive. And so he says that if I wanted to enter, and he was praying, he would cough, he would cough to show me that I am busy, that he's busy, sallAllahu wasallam. And then I would leave, meaning that I wouldn't enter I would just go. And so that establishes a number of things. Number one, that in the Sala it is allowed for you to communicate in a way that doesn't break the prayer. So for example, like clapping, as we said before
last week, that for women, it's allowed for them to clap in the prayer. If they want to raise attention to something for men, it is they say Subhan Allah, all for example, you cough, right? So maybe someone wants to come to you or something like this, and you cough just to make them aware of something. Okay. And normally, for example, in this hadith in particular, is a novel prayer, because the prophets on the lower end he will send him is praying at home. So it's not a congregational prayer. It's not one of the obligatory prayers, because he would pray those prayers in the ministry. And that shows that it's also the Sunnah to pray at home, to pray, knuffle praise at home, and the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, the prayer at home the optional prayers and don't make your houses into graveyards. So to pray at home the natural prayers, it is something which is recommended something which is allowed and recommended. So the point is that during the natural price, especially, as we said last week, the rulings are less stringent in terms of movement in terms of speaking in terms of these conditions. And that's why we said last week when we spoke about facing the Qibla that the scholars have mentioned based on the authentic narrations of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, that if it was an obligatory prayer, you must face to tiblet throughout
that prayer. But when it comes to the optional prayers in is allowed for you to be on a common for example, and to pray on that common whichever direction in phases, this is authentically established that the prophets of Salaam will just play on his common and he would go in any which way and direction in wanted, we wouldn't necessarily face the Qibla. So that shows that generally when it comes to natural prayers, it is not as stringent. So for example, if you know, for example, maybe someone's calling you and you're at home and you're praying and you're going to prolong the prayer, and you may be expected a call or maybe it's someone that you know, that's calling you that's close
to you. If you were to just pick up the receiver and put it down receivers right next moto Evo upstairs for Dunster, you're praying on the phones right next to you, you pick up the receiver and you put it down just so that you know that you're praying so they can hear you reciting they know that you're in prayer then that would be allowed. So if there is a need to do something like this microprocessor limited with Alia rhodiola one, then it is allowed. And this is also based upon NIDA inshallah, we'll come on to slightly more detail concerning movements within the prayer as well.
The next Hades Hades number 179 amaravati Allahu anhu. morphol. who truly believed in key for eternity via sallallahu alayhi wa sallam Rio de la him. He recently Muna Ali, Ali, Ali Baba so Taka Raja Buddha Buddha telemovie. Also ha, on the authority of Abdullah bin Armando de la Juan Houma, who said that I asked Bilal, how did you see the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam respond to this alarms whilst he was praying. He said that he would do like this and he raised his hand. And this is collected by Buddha Buddha and chairman Lee, and he also authenticated it and it is an authentic hadith. This Hadith is referring to an incident that took place during the time of the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and that is that the prophets of Salaam went to Masjid, Oba to pray. So we know that the prophets of Salaam when he first came to Medina, the First Minister that he established was Mr. Oba. an oboe was the place that he had relatives. His mother
Amina, her tribe came from this area of Oba so his maternal uncles, his maternal family, and relatives, they came from this area of Oba and as we've said before, the during that time, Medina was very small. So today what you have as the mystery the number one was all of Medina, that was Medina, and these other places like Oba and our Valley and so on all of these other places were like outskirts there was more like little villages outside of the city. They were the outskirts of Medina and today they're part of the city. So the point is that this is where the prophet SAW Selim came, and this is where he established the foundations of this mustard mustard, Oba and then this is from
where he left and came into the city of Medina. And then he would go back every week, as his authentically reported, he would go back once a week and he would pray them, so he would walk from Michigan and Nevada, we go to Michelle Obama, and he would play to Rockers, and he said, so the longer it will sell them whoever makes a lot from their place of residence, then goes to Cuba and plays to lockers, they will have the reward of an hombre they will have the reward of an ombre so it is extremely virtuous to go and play in this Masjid. The rest of the point is here the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was praying in order and the people of that village the people of the
area of Oba they came upon him in the masjid whilst he was praying they gave him the silence. They said a salaam aleikum wa rahmatullah wa Salaam Alaikum. They gave him the greetings of the lambs. And so Abdullah bin Omar is asking me a lot about the Allahu anhu was there at the time and a witness to this incident? What did the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam do? How did he respond to this sentence? And so he said that he raised his hand, he raised his hand. And so what the scholars say is that when you're praying, you simply raise your hand like this, and you put your hand back down. That is how you respond to the silence. There are a number of benefits and principles to begin
from this hadith number one
is that you don't respond to the salon. Don't physically respond to the salon. So you don't say where are they como Salaam during the prayer, that's number one. Number two, it is allowed and some solicit even recommended for a person to give sometimes to the one that is praying. So if you enter into your house and someone is praying, you don't not give the slams because they're praying, you still give the Psalms. Or for example, if you were to enter into the masjid, and you find that someone's praying give the Celebes if you enter into another place, you find that someone is praying, you give the sentence, there's nothing wrong with that. Number three, that it is allowed to
respond to that Salaam. So the person praying as well, it is allowed for them to respond. And number four, how do they respond, they respond by raising their hand, just raising their right hand. And that was their response to this and some of the speller said, the same principle is then also extrapolated for other things that you need to respond to as well. Because the synonyms as we as you know, is a writer Muslim has upon another Muslim as the prophets on a long warranty who seldom said, and one of those other writers that if a person sneezes, and they say Alhamdulillah, you respond and you say, your hammock, Allah, right. And so if that happened during the prayer, where you're
praying, and the person sneezes, and they say Alhamdulillah, then likewise, you respond in a like, in a similar manner, you just raise your hand. So anything that is the right of another Muslim, obviously, you can't respond out loud, but you make that that signal, and that is your response during the prayer, and a large surgeon knows best.
The next Have you had it number 181 w Katara, the Allahu anhu call, Colonel Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam Are you Saliba? homina mama Tabitha Xena, for either Sasha who is a former Hama Hama tonali only Muslim in La Jolla Manasa Phil mystery on the authority of apartado. The Allahu anhu said that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam during the prayer would be carrying remember the daughter of Xena and if you mentioned to sue Jones, he would put her down and if he stood would
Carry her. And this is another Bukhari and Muslim and in the notion of a Muslim, and this is whilst he was leading the people in prayer in the masjid.
We mentioned something similar to this I think last week as well, when we spoke about the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and how
how the prophets on the lower legal system would treat his grandchildren. I think we mentioned this, maybe I'm wrong. But the profits are lower. And in cinemas, we you know, had four daughters. You had Fatima rhodiola, who was married to early rhodiola one, and from them he had two grandsons and Hasson and Hussein rhodiola. And Homer. Then he had another daughter by the name of rupiah, and another daughter by the name of Khufu. And those two daughters were married to Horace Mann while the alarm rang one after the other. So one was married to him after she passed away. The other one was married to him, and then she passed away as well, both of them during the life of the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and it was reported that the prophet SAW Selim said to us, man, that if I had more daughters, I would have married them to you as well. And the fourth daughter was married to Abu Dhabi, and her name was Xena rhodiola Juana and the blossom Nairobi was from the people of orange from the tribe of Quraysh. And he was a late convert to Islam. He was someone who accepted Islam later on, while after the Battle of Babel. And so most of
like his son in law's like audience or what they address man, they accepted Islam very early on. So they were one of the first Muslims to accept Islam. I was already married to Zaman who was already married to Xena before Islam, she accepted Islam and he refused to do so. And so when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam made his raw Xena pine with her husband eyebrows, she was a Muslim, and he was not. And in the Battle of butter, a blouse was one of the people that came with the army of polish to fight against the Muslims. So he was actually fighting in the army of the non Muslims against his father in law, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. And he was captured as a prisoner
of war was captured as a prisoner of war. And so Xena on the long run her, she runs her husband, she was in Makkah, and when the mccanns heard that all of these prisoners of war had been captured, the officer send them was demanding ransom for them. So all of their family members, wealth and money, whatever to run some of them, Xena brother in law, one has sent a ransom for her husband a blouse. And she ran some time with the necklace that she owned that belonged to her mother Khadija that was given to her on the day of her wedding, Khadija rhodiola Rhonda had obviously passed away by this time. And so the story, which I'm sure you've heard, is that when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam saw that Nicholas, he began to cry, because it reminded him of his wife Khadija. And so he said to the companions, that if you let him go, flee and return the necklace to Xena, then that would be something beloved to me. And so the companions sent him back and they gave the necklace back, four, out of love for the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and then Xena rhodiola rang her late when she left a blouse in makhan, she came to Medina to live with the Muslims. And then after that oblast became a Muslim and he came and he made his role as well and he lived with them in Medina as well. So this child that was speaking about in this Hadith of the Prophet sallallahu
alayhi wasallam is the daughter of Xena by the name of Mama rhodiola
rhodiola laquanda.
She later on married Ali even a bit odd. So after the death of Fatima, she grew much older, she became one of the wives of Alibaba. And after Ali rhodiola had passed away, she married another famous companion by the name of aloe vera Sharma rhodiola. So this is the granddaughter of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Normally when you speak about these, a hadith where the prophets of Salaam is having someone in the prayers carrying someone who is one of his grandchildren, either Hassan or Al Hussein or Nana, so in this Hadith, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is carrying or Malmo during the prayer, and is praying and is leading the Muslims in
prayer, he would carry her whilst he was standing. And he would put her down when he would go into sujood. What Rahim Allah is establishing from this hadith is what it is allowed for a person to do or not to do in terms of movement in the prayer. So we know that the prayer has its specific actions, standing record sujood sitting these actions of the prayer, how much is it allowed for you to stray beyond this? So for example, when you play with your clothes in the prayer, when you straighten your glasses, or you straighten your hat, or you know, whatever, this isn't part of the prayer, those actions that you're performing are not part of the prayer. Is it allowed for you to do
so or not? And if so, to what extent
For example, you're praying in the masjid. And you see that someone from the road in front of you leaves, maybe they're broken, they will do whatever they leave. Is that allowed for you to walk and fill in that gap? To what extent can you move? Can you move firstly? And then to what extent can you do so? This is the general principle that Abraham's Rahim Allah is trying to establish here. So the previous ahaadeeth are about sound and voices and, and coughing and speaking and so on. What can you do what is permitted what is not permitted? Now, Abraham's Rahim Allah is speaking about movement in the prayer. And we're talking obviously, about movements that are not associated with the prayer. So
when you're praying, and you raise your hands and you say, Allahu Akbar, that's part of the prayer. When you go down into court, that's part of the prayer when I'm talking about those types of actions. We're talking about actions that aren't part of the prayer. They're not the actions of the prayer, but we do them what is allowed what is not allowed.
So in this Hadith, we see that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, whilst he was leading the people in the prayer, he would be carrying his granddaughter, or Mama beansie number on the lower abdomen. And he would put her down when he needed to put her down, he would pick her up when he needed to pick her up. And we know generally that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would allow children to come into the masjid whilst he was doing the footpath whilst he was leading the prayer. And sometimes in another notion of his granddaughter, or Mama, whilst he was in such that they would play on his back, and he would remain in search them until they finish playing, and they
got off his back, and then he would get up. And it shows how merciful how kinda profits on the lower end he will sell them was that even though he's leading hundreds of companions, in the masjid, some of them are old, some of them weak, some of them busy, some of them have no issues that they need to attend to. He wouldn't just
take his granddaughter off his back, forcefully, three would Let her finish praying, and then he would get up, right? And only like, you know, anyone who's calling up kids, you know that when you're praying, and you go into such that you can like to have a riot, right? They think it's games time. And so they get on your back, what do we do, we just get up and they fall off, right? When we are ready to get up, we get up, they fall off, go back down the ground, again, we get up and becomes a game the prophets of Salaam will just let them play. And he will prolong his sudduth until they finished doing so. And this is whilst he was leading the people in the prayer. So this hadith is
basically establishing that there are actions that are allowed in the prayer that are not from the prayer, but they are allowed. And what the scholars have done is that they have categorized them into four levels, four levels of actions that you perform in the prayer. Number one is an action which is considered to be a lot and it is unnecessary. There is no reason to do it. And it is excessive. And they say that this type of action breaks the prayer. So for example, if someone was standing somewhere, and then for no good reason, they just stopped moving around, left, right forward back for no good reason. This would break the prayer. Because it's not from the prayer. And
there's no reason for it, there is no valid reason for it. And so that breaks the prayer. The second type of action is one that is not from the prayer, but it is not excessive. And so that is disliked. So for example, when a person is praying, and they're just constantly fiddling with their cloth, by the constantly like you know, moving around the scarves are normally like with Arabs, you see this a lot like when they wear their scarves, they're constantly fixing it, moving it here this way that way, or maybe you've got like clothes and you're moving around or you know your glasses, you think you can't keep them on straight until you keep moving them around. These are actions which are not
excessive, but they're not from the prayer either. Meaning so you're not moving around a lot. But you're moving around. And it's not really part of the prayer that is disliked. The third level is an action, which is not from the prayer. But it is something which needs to be done, there is a need for it. And so for example, the Hadith of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam with Mama. So picking someone up and putting them down isn't from the prayer. But there's a need for it, especially with a young child, if the child is crying or whatever, you pick up the child, and that shows that it can be in a congregational prayer, or it can be an optional prayer. And so that is
allowed, that is allowed. And these are the Hadees Rahim Allah is bringing in this chapter. The fourth is something which is a movement and he may even be excessive, meaning that you're moving forward or left or right. But it is needed, because it is for the benefit of the player. And that is the example of someone behind or in front of you. They leave from their role. And so you go to fill in that gap, or someone next to you leaves and no one fills in that gap. So you move left or you move right to fill in that gap. So there is a movement, which isn't part of the press, not actually from the prayer, but you're doing it for the benefit of the prayer. Because we know that the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam ordered us to fill the roles and to close the gaps. And so therefore, it's a
thing which is done for the benefit of the prayer and therefore it is
that it's how do you hide it number 181 ronneby hora de todo de Allahu anhu call Paula Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam Dr. Medina, Sala LA to an opera,
or barossa, how a ban on the authority of Abu huraira. The Allahu anhu said the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, kill the two black things in the prayer, the snake and the scorpion collected by the for unauthenticated. By evolution ban.
This Hadith is also showing a movement that is allowed in the prayer. And it's allowed because there is a need for it. So it's not from the prayer, but there is a need for it. And so that would be like, for example, the process of selling and picking up his granddaughter, or like a person pick the child up from the prayer, but there is a need for it. And this hadith is dealing with two animals or two features, if you like that are harmful. And because of their harm, a person is allowed to kill them even in the plant, and it doesn't break the prayer. And those two animals are the snake and the scorpion. Likewise, if it is something else that is similar in terms of its harm
to a human, so if a person is praying, and they see clearly that there's something in front of them, that's harmful. Or maybe for example, something next to someone that is harmful, then it is allowed for you to
to draw that person's attention to it, or to take necessary steps to take to take yourself out of the home. So for example, you're praying on your own, and there's a wasp right there in front of you on the ground, right, maybe you're not going to kill it. But if you need to move to the right or the left, so that you don't have to go and research that on top of the walls, it's allowed, because now it's something which is done in order to keep you away from the harm. If it means that you have to kill it, because that's all that you can do, then you kill it, right. And if for example, there was someone else, and there's a scorpion, they're standing next to you, maybe they don't see the
scorpion to point out to them, that is allowed. Or you say Subhan Allah so that you draw their attention to it, it is allowed. So this is obviously done so that you know like a person
keeps themselves away from harm. And that is a general principle in the Sharia. The only thing which is overly harmful to you is something which is to be prevented. Now one of the example that the scholars give of this is that if you're praying,
you're praying, and you find that someone is about to drown, and is allowed for you to go and help them break your prayer and you go and help them or you warn them before they drown if they're walking and they're not looking around and they will better fall into something deep water or the about to fall into a ditch or something you can say Subhan, Allah and London. And so all of this is something which is allowed, because of the harm that is associated with those things.
The next chapter, Bob setrakian, Masoli
chapter of the sutra of the person praying sutra in the Arabic language means a cover, linguistically means a cover. And what we mean by technically in the Sharia is that thing which you placed in front of you, that you pray towards, that acts as a cover between you and those other people around you, so that people don't have to walk in front of you in the prayer. And this is something which is established in the Sunnah of the Prophet salallahu, alayhi wasallam in many, many ahaadeeth there are many benefits from it too. One is the fact that someone other people can walk past you. The fact that you have a sitter in front of you means that other people can walk past you.
Number two, that your disruption, your concentration isn't disrupted. So people are constantly walking right in front of you. They're walking around you. They're walking beyond that sutra, so they don't walk in your field of vision, whilst you're looking down towards your place of frustration, and they don't disturb your concentration and there are other benefits as well. The sutra and taking the sutra is asunder, it is the son of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and there is not obligatory and it is authentically reported from the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam for example, that you played in Midna in Mena during Hajj in Mena, towards nothing. So you
pray towards nothing, no sutra, that is authentically reported inside your body. And so the scholars, by each Mayor by consensus say that the sutra is a strong Sunder something which you should have, but it is not an obligation. So if a person doesn't have a sutra, what I mean by that is if the person doesn't have sutra doesn't affect their prayer, the prayer doesn't become invalid. So if a person comes and just prays in the middle of the masjid, that prayer is correct, you can say to them that that prayer is invalid, or that prayer is no in some way it is deficient. However, they should take the sutra because they're becoming an inconvenience to those around them. And so people,
by necessity have to walk in front of them or they have to disrupt them and so on. And so it is a tsunami, but it is something which is strongly recommended, and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam generally speaking, he would always pick a sutra. Even in the desert, he would place a sutra in front
front of him to some extent or another, even in the open desert where there's not many people around or not many people going to be walking in front of you. However it is not watching it doesn't nullify your prayer if you don't have a sutra
the first Hadith which is basically the probably feel like the most important hundies in this chapter, what is number 182 and number 200 inherited Formula One, burn Apollo Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam,
Albania De Lima de la humanism, Latina, barbarian hieronder human and human robinia de matar finale, wonderful in Buhari Baba carful, bizarrely men watching are in a hurry and authority of Abuja, Hindi Bernhard is not the only one who said that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said that if a person was to know that the sin that they would commit, by walking in front of a praying person, they would rather wait for 14 than walk in front of him. And this is collected in Bukhari and Muslim and the wedding is over Buhari. And in the narration of all bizarre, he said 14 years, it is better for him to wait for 40 years. This Hadith is the Hadith, which is probably the most common and the
most well known Hadith, in this chapter. And that is the most authentic original Buhari and Muslim. And that is that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is saying that if you knew the type of sin that you would commit, by walking in front of someone that is praying, then you would rather wait for 40 years, then walk in front of them. And so that in itself shows the gravity of the situation and how serious it is. There are a number of issues here that need to be mentioned. Number one, is that it is highly recommended for a person praying to take a sutra. So for the person playing it is their responsibility. And the onus falls upon their shoulders to take a sutra is not the
responsibility of other people to give them a sutra, or to make a sutra for them, it is your responsibility to take a sutra. And that's why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, before he would begin praying, he would take his own sutra. And so you it is your responsibility. Number two, the person praying chooses a place of prayer that is convenient for others as well. So what that means is that you don't just pray, you know, like right by the entrance, right there, bang in the middle. That's just inconvenient. And then if people walk in front of you, it's not really anyone else's fault. Or, for example, if you know after a prayer, you know that people are going to get up,
they're going to move around that they're going to want to leave to start praying right in front of everyone without any sutra, it is inconvenient. And so that too, is the responsibility of the person praying that they take a wise position of prayer, don't just pray and stand anywhere. And this is a problem which you get, the larger the mosque, the bigger the problem it becomes, because obviously, the monster doesn't have like a pillar on every row. And so if people just stand up and just start praying wherever they are, without looking at this issue of a sutra, really, you know, other people can't leave, maybe someone needs to leave, and they won't be able to leave because even if they pass
by one person, they'll have to stop by the next, and then the third and the fourth and the fifth, and they won't be able to do anything. Okay. So those two issues are concerning the person taking the sutra. So it is a responsibility of the person praying that they take a stroll, they make a sutra for themselves. And we'll come into more detail concerning what a sutra can be and and what type of a sutra it should be and what the description is of a sutra. As for the person who's not praying, who's walking, then they should walk around them, they should walk around that sutra. So if that person, for example, is playing there, and in front of them is a chair, or is this table, they
walk around the table, they walk around the chair. And so it's not allowed for a person, therefore to cut in front of them. And if they were to do so, then it is allowed for the person praying to prevent them. And we'll come on to the Hadith shortly where the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam allowed this to take place. Even though the action as we've said before, of preventing someone isn't from the prayer, the sort of action that you perform in the prayer, but it's done for the benefit of the prayer and therefore, it is something which is allowed. So the person walking walks beyond the sutra, what happens if there is no sutra, so the person doesn't take a sutra? Then what do you do
and you need to leave, it is better for you to wait if you can do so. However, if it's not possible, or you need to leave, or for example, there are so many people praying that it's impossible for you to wait for every single one of them. Before you leave, then what you do is at the bare minimum, you walk past their place of solitude. So you don't walk in front of their place of frustration. You walk around them. So for example, it would be around the role, right? So if they're praying that, that obviously this role is where they're going to make such that so you walk around the room, and that is the last option. So if you don't have any option, that's what you do.
You don't walk past them. And even when you take a sutra, the distance between you and the sutra should be roughly that much between you and the place of frustration. In fact, it is reported authentically that the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam would leave the space of a sheep, so that our sheep could pass between him and his sutra. And so it's not that the sutra is you know, this Mirage and you standing over there as long as the sutra is done to your place of frustration. So if they don't have the sutra, you can walk around it. And this is something which the scholars have mentioned, because sometimes you do need to walk and the person hasn't taken a sutra or maybe they
took a sutra, which was a moving sutra, what's a moving sutra? A moving sutra is another person for example, you're praying in front of someone behind someone and that person gets up and they walk off. So the fact that they walked off now, the sutra has like a mobile car chases sutra, you start stuck. And so that means if someone is to walk in front of you, they walk past you. Another issue which is also brought up here concerning this generally is
concerning the issue of the two harems, Makkah and Medina, whatever is extremely difficult for a person
to not walk in front of someone who doesn't have a sutra. In fact, it is probably nearly impossible, especially if we go during Hajj and Umrah people are constantly like this people everywhere. And if you had to wait for every single person to finish their prayer, the next prayer would be in and you'd still be trying to make your way out right? I still would be then you'd still be trying to leave for so it is more or less impossible. And that's why the scholar says shirtless dungeon Tamia, Rahim Allah Anna has mentioned that that is an exception to the rule that Mecca and Medina are exception to the rule that you can walk in front of people, because you constantly get people
walking in front of you, and you can't stop them either. So in that must you don't stop them. And then it's allowed for them to walk as well. Because you're really in that position where you don't have any other choice, someone has finally said no, this ruling of a sutra and not walking in front of someone who doesn't have a sutra. It still applies even in Mecca and Medina. However, it is extremely difficult just like you know, anyone that's been there will know that it is more or less impossible to apply this there. Unless you're just gonna live in the harem and stay there and sleep there. which case you don't have a problem. But otherwise it is extremely difficult. And so
therefore, if a person needs to live in Mecca and Medina then is allowed for them to walk. However, if there is no need to leave, and obviously you can wait then obviously that is better or is to be on the safe side and the side of caution. That is better. Another issue concerning this is that when you're praying in congregation, you only need one sutra. And that sutra is the sutra of the Imam. So the Imam sutra is sutra for everyone else. So not every single person praying in congregation needs their own individual sutra, you only need one sutra. And that sutra is only needed by the Imam. So if the Imam is praying here, and he has a sutra, he has that ward in front of him, and someone wants
to walk across Muslim right in front of you. Because they're trying to get to some leaf from somewhere, then it's not allowed for you to block them. It's not allowed for you to block them. So you can't block them and say, No, you know, you're breaking my sore throat. No, the sutra of the Imam is sufficient. And that's something which is established authentically, by the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam that he would pray with one sutra and the other companions wouldn't do so and there are narrations of where the prophets of Salaam would be praying and companions would come. And they would walk between the rows to find a space to pray. And so therefore, that one sutra is
enough, so people can walk. And as for example, if someone in the congregation breaks, they will do. They don't have to stop there and wait for everyone to finish praying because they don't want to walk in front of anyone. They can just leave, they can leave. They don't have to worry about this issue of the sutra.
The next habitat is number 183. When Chateau de la hora and Hippolyte signon Wu sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he was rotita buka and Mussolini for Paul, Muslim Muslim fear of Russia who Muslim and authority advantage over the long run her who asked the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa she said that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was asked in the Battle of the book about the sutra and he said it is like the rear end of a saddle selected by a Muslim. This Hadith is basically describing the sutra. So we said that the sutra is highly recommended, a person should have it and this is the distance between you and the sutra and so on. What is the sutra? How do you describe the sutra? What
are the dimensions of a sutra in this hadith in Sahih Muslim the prophet or Celebes saying it should be similar in height and width to the rear end of a saddle saddle is what you placed on a horse where everyone knows where a saddle is a saddle has a front end and a rear end and the rear end is higher, because that's where you normally rest your back.
It is higher than the front end and so that end of the rear end of a saddle that is basically the width and the height that a sutra should be. And so for example, it would probably be about this height. So around this height that is okay so around this height, that is okay and around this way, so it basically is in front of you, and therefore anyone can walk around and in front of that and shala that is okay. The next one is 184 one subrata Ebony meridional, Johanna rhodiola one who call upon Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, Leah Strattera confess that you will be Sam aphasia will happen on the authority of Serbian American but then God Allahu anhu said that the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said that one of you take the sutra in the prayer, even if it is an arrow collected by emammal hackin. What the scholars are saying is that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam speaks about the sutra and a number of ahaadeeth. And what he speaks about is the ideal situation. And then not the ideal situation. So the ideal situation is that you have in front of you something like a pillar or a wall, that's ideal. Because now like no one's going to walk in front of you, you won't get distracted by anyone, no one's going to disrupt your concentration is a solid wall in front of you. So you pray, for example, here, or here, or like behind one of the
pillars, that is the ideal situation. However, for most people, that's not possible, most likely, you're not going to be praying towards a wall, you need a sutra. So therefore it should be minimum, something like the rear end of a saddle. That's what you should aim for. So like the chair like the table, something that is of that length, and that height, like those sutras we have there those like wooden kind of things on the ground, that's like, perfect, that's what we mean. So something like that, that is ideal. Number three is you can't even find that. So for example, you know, you're out in the desert, you're traveling, you're out and about, you can't even find that. So here the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is saying take a sutra, even if there is an arrow, and an arrow, even though it has a certain height, it is extremely narrow, right, so you're not getting that width anymore, but you're still getting that height. But so long as you have even something like that. So for example, if someone wants to have like a bottle, and they place that bottle in front of them, that's a sutra. That's all you can find that is a sutra. And so the point is that you have something like an arrow in front of you, even if it is that small and that narrow, and that would be a sufficient sutra as well, if you can't find it. So again, the first best option is to have something
like a wall something solid, something big, if not than something like a subtle, if not that even something like a narrow the next Heidi
haddish number 185 one a bizarre renal failure of your loved one. Paula Paula Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam Jaco salata, Roger Lee and Mariah to wear him out, while Calvin and Hobbes were
a part of Russia who Muslim Allah. Allah tala O'Donnell rabida would wanna say
he
will hire an authority of
rhodiola when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said three things will break the prayer of a person, a woman, a donkey, and a black dog. And then in one iteration, he said that the black dog is a shape on collectible Mr. Muslim, and there is also a notional about Herrera but it doesn't mention a dog you just mentioned a woman and a donkey. And the hadith of Buddha would say, and the authority of Columbus brought the Allahumma he said menstruating woman, these Hadith are authentic,
this hadith are authentic. And basically the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is referring to those issues that break the prayer. The scholars say that the reason that these three things break the prayer is because they they are fittler. Right? There is a type of fitna involved in them and it disrupts the concentration. And so therefore it breaks the prayer. And so in no way is the prophet SAW Selim like you know, lightning, a woman to a donkey and dog. But basically what he's saying is that in all three of them, there is a similar trait and characteristic, and that is that there is a type of fitna, so if you're playing on a woman walks in front of you, that just breaks your
concentration. It's a fitna for you that a woman should walk in front of you, especially if she's not dressed modestly. And she's not like wearing the correct hijab and so on. That would be a fitna. And so even now, when you go, for example, to mactan, and there's like millions of people that often you'll have the case of a woman praying in front of him, often you'll find, especially in hajj, is more or less impossible to have all of the women at the back one of the men at the front. And so you often have women praying in front of you, and it's very difficult, you know, for a man to pray behind a woman, it's very difficult. And that's a situation that you have, and they try their best
to try to help the women to vote the back and so on. But with 3 million people, I mean, it's more or less impossible. And so that is a fitna and so also the, the dog and the donkey, the scholars said that both of them had
a treat, which is similar to shape on resist a tonic type of crate. And that is why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in that one narration said that a black dog is a shape on. And so because of that pfitzner because of the evil that they have, within those two animals, that also brings the prayer. However, the majority of the scholars of Islam are of the opinion that it doesn't break the prayer, what is being intended in this hadith is that it is deficient in your reward. So it takes away from your reward, if a woman or a dog or a donkey would walk in front of you, but it doesn't break the prayer, meaning that you don't have to repeat the prayer. And they have many
evidences for this as well. We don't have time to go into all of them. But there are narrations that, for example, the processor would be praying, and a woman would walk in front of her. And there is a note of him, sorry, and he wouldn't break the prayer. And he wouldn't restart the prayer. And also the Hadith of the Prophet of Solomon, he wouldn't be praying the night prayer at home, or in Shabbat, your loved one who would be lying down with her legs outstretched, and they would be in front of him. To the extent that if you had to go into surgery, he would move her legs back, so she would move them in. And then when he would stand up from surgery, he would move them out again. So
this is like a woman in front of him. And so she's lying there and she's sitting there or she's, she's there. And the Prophet Solomon is praying like that. So that's the opinion of the majority of the scholars and they say that this hadith is referring to a deficiency in reward. So if this happens, your reward becomes deficient, you lose some of the reward, but that prayer is correct and some of the scholars said no, it is we take literally at face value that if this happens, then you pray is broken and you will start to pray again. And alarm surgeon knows best. The next Hadith 186 when we started the Lord the Lord the Allahu anhu palapa Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is a
sala de Camila shakiness to whom in a nurse for other hadn't engaged has been a de familia de fer for another four years, till for a number
of years.
And authority, Obasanjo de la the long run, who said that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, if one of you is praying towards a sutra, and then someone wants to walk in front of you, then let him prevent him. And if he refuses, then let him fight him for Indeed, he is a shade been collected in a Bukhari and Muslim and in moderation, he has with him a shavon. This Hadith is something which I touched upon earlier that is that if you have a sutra, and someone still tries to walk in front of you, they don't walk around the sutra, they try to walk in front of you, it is allowed for you, to prevent them. So you put out your hand, and you stop them from walking in front
of you. And then if they try again, it is allowed for you to push them even harder. Okay, and so you push them back again. So what we don't mean is we're not talking about you get into a physical fight, right? It's not like you're not going to get into a physical fight, but you do the best of your ability to push them back and keep them from walking through. And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said that that person is only doing so because of shavon shavon is with them, or shavon is whispering to them, and is encouraging them to do so. And so shaytan will come and he will try to disrupt your prayer, however he can, even to this extent of someone walking in front of you and that
person walking in front of you doesn't realize you're praying, especially maybe if you're sitting down, you know, it doesn't realize that you're still praying, he just thinks you're sitting there, he tries to walk in is allowed for you to put out your hand to stop them. And even to if they continue and persist to push them back forcefully. And the larger religion knows best. The next Friday, we're going to be hearing rhodiola Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam upon his
failure measured for Leon sudarsan failed Aamir Khan failure on Roman Roman murghab in a day approaches, no matter what so how he behaved than what I'm used to and the human body
and authority of aboard a rhodiola under the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, if one of you is to pray, they let in place in front of his face something meaning in front of him something if he is unable to do so than a stick. If he is unable to do so then let him draw a line. And then after that, it doesn't matter who walks beyond that sector by the authenticator by a band and it Roger says it is a hacer Novation. This Hadith is something which the scholars differ over its authenticity. Some of them said it is authentic. Some of them said it is weak. So for example, as you can see here, even harder Rahim Allah says it is authentic Chatelet members also said it is
authentic. However Sheffield Valley and other scholars said it is weak. However, because there is a difference of opinion over the Hadees I'll go through it anyway. And this basically we affirming the principle that I mentioned before that a sutra should be to the best of your ability something solid like a wall. If not then something like a saddle if not then something like an arrow or a stick and in this note
What the prophet SAW Selim is seeing is that even if you can't find that, so you have nothing at all, to use as a sutra, you draw a line in front of you in the sand, right. And obviously, in those days, people will be praying outside, and it will normally be sand or something, where in which you can draw a line. And we're talking about a horizontal line, right like that wing. So we're not talking about like a vertical line, we're talking about a horizontal light in front of you. Some of the scholars said that it should be like a moon shaped like a mirror of shape, like that shape. So it's not a straight line, but it's a curved line, like a semi circle that you bring towards. As we
said, some of the scholars said that this hadith is authentic. So if you don't have any other option, nothing else nothing you can use a sutra don't have a bag with you don't have anything with you. Literally. Then at the very least you just draw a line, if you can do so and if you can't even draw a line, and there's nothing that you can do them as a large so it just says in the Quran for law, Mr. Totten, fear of law as much as you can, so you just do what you can to the best of your ability. The final Hadith in this chapter and Hadith that will conclude with 182 anniversary rhodiola one call upon Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa salam ala Dr. salata, Shea
departamento, de Sena de bar,
on the 30th anniversary dinner for the rhodiola one who said that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, Nothing will break the prayer, and do what you can to prevent it, created by Buddha would have said that there is weakness in this chain of narration. This is another Hadith which the scholars have different over some of them said it was weak. Some of them said, because of all of the different supporting narrations, the Hadith becomes authentic. So it is something which
the scholars have different over as well. And even Raja Rahim Allah, He doesn't say that the Hadith is weak. So berada, he says that there is weakness in it, and met the scholars of Hadith, like they're very, very specific, very particular in the wording that they choose. So when you say something is weak is weak. But when he says that there is weakness in it, it means that you know, there is weakness, but it can be strengthened. So there is a difference between the two. So I think that even though there is weakness, he's saying that there is potential for it to be strengthened. And so in a way is kind of reserving judgment as well. And other scholars have said that it is
authentic. This Hadith is one of the proofs used by those scholars who say that a woman and adult and a donkey and so on, they don't break the prayer. One of the narrations that they have to support them, as well as the others that I mentioned is this heading, even though some of this policy is weak, and that is that the political system is saying that nothing breaks the prayer. So your prayer cannot be nullified simply by something passing in front of you. And that also seems to conform to the general principle is not watching the Sunnah, but it is not watching. And the fact that the sutra isn't worship, as we said, shows that if someone then walks in front of you, if you don't
perform that sooner, and someone was to walk in front of you, it doesn't break your prayer. Because if it did break your prayer, then the sutra would be worship as well, you would have to have one to prevent someone breaking your prayer. But the fact that it's something which is recommended shows that in shadow life, someone was talking in front of you, some one of those, like an animal or someone was talking in front of you, then inshallah it is an effective prayer. And as diligent knows best and inshallah will conclude with that, if there's any questions we can take them.
If someone is using you as a straw, it is better for you to wait for them to finish if you can. However, if you need to leave and you must go, then you must go. But if you can wait, then it is better to do so. And that is from helping your brother and sister your brother operating in good. If you're if you're praying and your son's with you, and he's about to go into danger, then you do what you must do to stop them from that danger. So the general thing, the best thing would be to just say Subhan Allah or something like that, rather than clicking on something better to this panel. If that doesn't work, for example, like you know, they're about to like touch the firewalls or you know,
your home and the robot to like, pick up a knife or something like that. And even if you have to walk to them, and physically pick them up, stop them and that is allowed, because that then becomes a necessity. You see a home normally if a woman or your mother or your wife walks in front of you, it should be a lot easier to stop number one because your house is smaller. So you should have a sutra anyway, whether you pay towards a wall whatever, should be very easy. Number two, you should be able to stop them even if they are talking in front of you in a room The city has its own rulings. So necessity is different you know if some if a child is about to injure itself, and you
know your wife goes to pick up that child that's a necessity now, that's different to them just walking in front of you because they need to get from one side of the room to the other. So necessity as we said has like its own like rulings.
Is it fun to respond to the tsunami in the prayer? I'm not done.
No, however, is the Sunnah to do so. So if you respond to them, it is better.
Yeah. Because that's the right of a Muslim or another Muslim.
Depends on the prayer. If you're praying in your house and your mother's calling you or your father depends on the professor obligatory prayer, then you pray. And you'd like prayed on as fast as you can,
within reason, like so that you pray properly, but as fast as you can, so that you can respond to them. However, some optional way that you respond to them.
If you push a child and child pushes you back
or ignore the child and just carry on playing.
Yeah, so generally, the routing is done in an optional prayers, the rules are less stringent. However, if it's an obligatory prayer, then you should avoid doing so to the best of your ability. So you shouldn't like make any gestures or anything else. We don't have this problem. No one's going to walk into your house and you have to comfort them entering the door or something right. So they can't just walk in. Things are different now.
Yeah, so you mean like they're praying in a row and you move them? Yeah. And there's a lot for you to straighten out the rules and the process tournaments. a lien will be the one who can be
be
in was there praying while you're praying?
No, not while you're praying. And they're praying. I mean, like, if you're not praying and you come in and you find that someone's not like standing property, you move them around the process, and then we'll see lien obey the one you can like, be gentle or be subtle in or be gentle in the hands of your brothers, meaning that when they move you around, move with them next, if someone's treating you to the dribbler, or straight in the road that you let them move you when you don't just shrug them off or like try to like you know, oppose them. You let them do that. However, if you're praying and they're praying, I don't know what you mean. Like, you know, you're moving them on they're
moving your hand like
I mean, if you're straightening out or It depends, again, like how much like you know, like you said yesterday, last week about the nifty like, way off then yeah, like pull them breakfast just like slightly them. No.
