My dear brothers and sisters in Islam.
Over the past few months, we've explored many different aspects of the personality of our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, we've spoken about the way he smiled sallallahu alayhi wasallam the way he would shed tears and the reasons why he would cry, the way he would become angry, and why he would become angry. And then why he was shown forbearance and patience and forgiveness and pardoning others from amongst the Muslims and other than the Muslims. So these are different aspects from the life of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam aspects of the personality of the Prophet salallahu alayhi wasallam that each and every single Muslim needs to familiarize themselves with, we need to
know our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam better than we know ourselves better than we know our own spouses, and our own children, and our best friends and family members. We need to know the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, the way he would act, the way he would react in all of these different circumstances. And so today I want to bring to your attention. Another aspect of the personality of our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and this is the aspect of His mercy. The mercy that he showed sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and displayed and we know that a large though we just sent him as a mercy not only to humans, but to all of creation. And so the aspect was a
particular aspect of the mercy of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that I want to deal with today is not the mercy that he showed to humans, even though there are many, many examples of this. The books of Sunnah, the Hadith of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam are replete with examples of how he showed mercy to not only Muslims, but to non Muslims, to the young and to the old, to men and to women, at times of ease and at times of hardship. But the mercy that I want to focus on today is the mercy that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam display towards animals displayed towards the world of animals. This creation that Allah azza wa jal
And it's not order to believe in the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Animals are not told to perform that which is halal, or to stay away from something which is how long they don't have to pray or fast to give us a car or perform Hajj. They're not macula, they have no responsibilities, that animals, they're not intellectual beings. But even so, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam showed mercy towards them. And not only did he show mercy towards them, but he ordered us to show mercy towards them as well. And they should make us stop and think and reflect. If the Prophet Sall Allahu Allah, He will send them as mercy went to such an extent, to such a level, that even the the
cat or the dog, or any type of animal, the camel, or the cow, or the donkey, any type of animal has rights in this religion, and it deserves to be shown mercy in this great religion. Then what about your fellow brother? Or about your fellow sister? What about the Muslims that are sitting next to you on either side? What about your family members and your relatives? Your own spouses and your own children? Don't they have more rights than the animals? And so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned in the number of a hadith that speak about the rights of animals, and the mercy that we need to show about them. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said in a very famous
Hadith in the LA catabolic Santa Ana Coalition for either potential in
the bathroom fascino Deepak
Chopra, will you rather be
the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is speaking about mercy towards animals, but in the context of showing excellence, because Islam doesn't just go to the extent of being good to your fellow brother or sister, being good to neighbors, being good towards your guests. Even though this is something which many of us struggle with many of us fall short, when it comes to the rights of others, the rights that they have upon us and the rights that we own towards them. You know, Allah, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam wanted to show us the meaning of excellence, the meaning of completeness, in this religion. Indeed, Allah azzawajal has legislated perfection and excellence in
every single thing. Everything that you do, you must show excellence in it, you must do it to the best of your ability. Even when it comes to sacrificing your animal. That animal that you have that you want to sacrifice, you must show excellence in the way that you sacrifice it. So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, let one of you sharpen his blade, and let him put his animal to rest. Don't prolong the suffering of the animal. This is excellence in the religion, and this is mercy towards the animals. And so if this is the right of the animals, then what about your fellow human, or about those people that need money, or those people that have that you have taken a loan
from them, and you owe them something, they have rights over you, but you keep procrastinating? You keep delaying? You keep saying maybe tomorrow, maybe next week, maybe next month? If no discomfort is allowed to come to an animal, and we must show excellence towards this animal? Then what about your fellow brother and sister, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam once entered into the garden of one of the men of OnStar. And he came into the garden. And one of the first things that he saw within this garden was that there was a common and there was a camera, which was away from all of the other cameras and from one of the other people off to one side on its own.
And when it saw the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam, it began to whimper. It began to make a sound of distress. And in some narrations, it began to shed tears. So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam went to the animal, and he began to stroke the animal. And then he said, Man, Rob, who has a gentleman, who is the owner of this camel, who does this camel belong to. So a young man, from the men of the answer. He came and he said, O Messenger of Allah, it is my camel. It belongs to me. So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, Will you not fear alone? Will you not show taqwa and taqwa is one of those things which is the pinnacle of a man? To have Taqwa is something which is a
high status for any Muslim. So the prophet SAW Selim said to him, Well, do not fear Allah with regards to that which Allah azza wa jal has allowed you to have. In Vitro. Carmen has complained to me that you don't feed it that you keep it thirsty, and that you overwork it. You overburden
And this is what the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is teaching this companion and teaching us as Muslims, the rights of this common, let it be allowed to eat, that will be allowed to drink, that it shouldn't go to the extent that it's kept hungry and thirsty. And this is why some of the scholars would say that from excellence in Islam is that if you were to have an animal that you were riding upon, and then you stopped in a place to eat, or to rest, then before you even eat your own food, or before you even make your own macros, or set up your own tent, you go and attend to animal first. This is excellence in the religion. This is the mercy that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam brought towards animal, let alone towards humans. This is what the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is teaching us in this hadith and in others, in another narration, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam seldom, he passed by a group of people. And these group of people was sitting or writing the animals. And they were sitting up on their beasts upon the animals, and they had upon these animals also some of their possessions. And they were sitting there just talking, having a conversation, simply talking to one another. So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam came to them. And he said to them, that when you come towards your animals, then when you write
them, write them in a good manner. And when you want to disembark when you want to get off your animals, then get off in a good manner, while at the zoo ha, Cora Celia howdini COMM And don't treat your animals like chairs, like sofas, so that you can have conversations with one another, meaning the animal is tired. Don't just sit there talking for no reason upon the animal. If you want to talk this embark, and then go and have your conversation. This is the extent to which the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam gave rights to the animals that you can't even throw long having a conversation upon your animal for no good reason. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam disliked
this. And yet the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in another famous narration, he said to his companions, that when you ride upon your beasts upon your animals, and you come to an area where there is much greenery, there is foliage and there is grass, then slow down, and allow your animals to eat from them. Allow your animals to eat, slow down and allow the animals to take its time. And when you come to an area where there is no greenery, where there is nothing to eat, then speed up, ride your animal pasture so that you can take it to its destination. And he can write, he can rest and they can have something to eat and drink. The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam,
not only stuck to this extent, but even when it came to striking an animal, to harming an animal, to doing anything to an animal, which would cause it any discomfort or any distress. All of this is forbidden in this split religion of ours. The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam once came and he passed by a common and he found that there were bruises upon the face of the animal. They were markings upon the face. And so he said to the people that were there, Have you not heard that I have cursed the one who strikes the animal upon its face. And I have cursed the one who leaves a mark or a bruise upon the animal. This is the curse of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam, and when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam speaks about the custom Allah, it means that he is making the error that each and every type of mercy that Allah possesses, be removed from that individual, that no mercy in any way, shape or form, be allowed to touch that person, all over striking an animal. And then when you look at our society, look at the way the Muslims are, how many spouses strike one another, how many husbands hit their wives? How many parents hit their children? How many teachers hit their students? If we're not allowed to leave a single man, we're not allowed to strike the face of even an animal. Then what about striking one another, fighting with one
another, hurting and harming one another? The Messenger of Allah says in the long run, he will send them describe this as something which will incur the wrath and the curse of Allah subhanho wa Taala. And it goes to a further extent, because the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would even teach the young of the oma, the children, the youngsters that they shouldn't take these animals as a just an a mockery. They're not pay things that are toys for children to go and to take. And so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam once passed by a group of young companions, and they were playing with some birds, taking the birds and capturing them and using them to play with. So the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, Indeed, Allah has made it hard.
He has forbidden that anything which has a sewn in it. Anything which is living should be taken as just a mockery, that you should take it as a means of play, that you take it as a means of being a toy. In another innovation the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, that whoever comes to a bed and he holds it, and he kills it, then Allah azza wa jal on Yom Okayama, will allow that bird to come to him on the Day of Judgment. And that bird will say, Oh Allah, why did so and so kill me. Indeed, he killed me out of mockery, out of just out of wanting to waste my life, and there was no purpose behind it, meaning he didn't kill me so that he could eat for me, he didn't kill me for any
reason for any benefit, because I was going to harm him or harm his family, rather, it was just a mockery and play, and so on Yom Okayama, even that burn will be given the rights that he has in this religion.
More than this, the Prophet sallallahu Allah, He will send them this aloud, even the slightest of discomfort to come to the animal, the slightest of discomfort. And we need to put this into perspective, with the way we deal with one another. If animals have such a right, that even the slightest of discomfort is not allowed to come to them, then what about your fellow Muslims, or about the non Muslims or about the people that surround you, the people that you interact with on a daily basis, they have more rights in this religion than the animals. And so the profits on the long run, and he will sell them once passed by a man. And this man had taken a sheep that he wanted to
slaughter. And he had placed the sheep on the ground, and yet pleased his knee upon the neck of the sheep. And there was in that situation, he began to sharpen his blade in front of the sheep. So the sheep could see what was going to happen. He could see the shaping the sword or the knife being sharpened, and he knew that he was about to die. And so the Prophet sallallahu, alayhi wasallam came to him. And he said, uh, to redo and to meet the Hamilton, do you want to kill this animal twice? Do you want to give it to deaths, it would have been better, that you sharpen your blade before you took the animal and placed it up on the ground, simply because the animal could see what was going
to happen to it. The discomfort and distress that it found was enough for the profits on the long run, he will sell them to rebuke that individual to discipline that companion. And that's why the scholars mentioned that when you have an animal that you want to sacrifice, it's not even allowed for you to go and sharpen that blade in front of the animal, nor is allowed for you to allow that animal to see the faith that it's going to have by slaughtering a different animal in front of it. All of this is mentioned within this beautiful Sharia. All of these are rights that the animals have. And so these rights that the animals have, the rights and responsibilities that we have
towards them, the mercy that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned towards them. What is the outcome of all of this? Is it simply something which we can do if we want and stay away from if we don't want to? The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned that there is reward and punishment associated with this, even the way you treat your animals, Allah azza wa jal will punish you or reward you with regards to this. The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned that famous Hadith of the woman who had a kitten, a cat, and she imprisoned the cut. And so she kept it in the house, and she wouldn't allow it to go out. And so the Prophet sallallahu
alayhi wasallam said, law Parramatta, wanna sakata if habit SATA Wanda tharaka Tata coloman Hayashi, neither did she feed the cat nochi allow it to have anything to drink. Nor would she even allowed to roam out upon the earth, so that they could eat from the foliage, so that he could eat for money could find from itself on the streets. It she kept it in prison. And so a lot of xojo will punish that woman, and she will enter into the fire. So panela a woman will enter into the fire because of a cat. Not because she killed someone or because she stole some money, or she drank alcohol, or she did anything like this, she will enter the fire over a cat, Allah azza wa jal will make her taste
punishment, the way that she punished that count. And so look at the situation of us. Look at our situation, the situation of the Muslims, how many oppressions and in justices we commit every single day, how many misdeeds there are in our skills, and yet Allah azza wa jal, His mercy and His justice to such an extent that the animal will take its right from a human and that human will be made to taste the fire and the opposite is the same. The reward that is essential
seated with treating animals well is also mentioned in the famous hadith of Centennial Buhari. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned that a man who was very thirsty, came looking for a wall of water. And so he came in, he found about, so he went, and he climbed down into the room. And he went on, he found some waters on your drive. And then when he came out, he found that there was a dog, or dog, which was thirsty, work looking for water. And so he said to himself, indeed, this dog is as thirsty as I was just a few moments ago. So he went back into the room, and he took off his shoe, and he put some water into the shoe. And he came and he gave it to the dog. And so a lot of
our general says, We want innovation, and he said that the dog sort of forgiveness for the man, and so a lot of xojo will forgive all of his sins. In a seminar narration the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned the state of a prostitute, a woman who was a prostitute who was thirsty. And so she went, and she also took water. And so she found a dog that was thirsty, and she went and she gave this dog water. So a lot of zildjian forgave her for her sins. In a different narration of this Hadith, the companions when they heard this, the companions had this hadith and they were so amazed that one of them said, O Messenger of Allah, do we even get reward from our animals? Are we even
rewarded for the way we treat our animals? And so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, be equally the captain Autobots in Agile, indeed, in every living soul, there is some reward to became anything which is living, anything which is breathing, there is always reward to be gained from it. And another occasion, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was once riding with his wife as a short of the long run her an Irish I was writing on a camera, and the camera was slightly stubborn, it wasn't moving. So she began to strike that animal and hatred. And so the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said to her, it would be better if you dealt with it with gentleness,
with kindness be soft towards it, for indeed gentleness is not placed in a single thing, except that it beautifies it and it is not removed from anything, except that it makes it ugly, and it makes it dislikable barakallahu li walakum florante was soon when I found you will Jacobi Murphy mammillaria Hakuna Matata smartone mosquito la honey welcome Alicia meeting Muslim leader bill stuff you can have a pharaoh

A large soldier in the Quran mentions the state of the animal. This world is creation of animals. And he says to Panda wattana woman in the battlefield, one Ah, yo, Ruby, Jana Hilah, Oman, amsa lucam. There is not a single animal upon the world, not a single beast upon the earth. Nor is there a single bird that flies with its wings, except that they are nations like you. So just as humans have nations, just as we are one nation, then the world of lions is a nation, and the world of dogs and cats and sheep and camels, each one of them and all of these different types of birds and animals. Each one of them is nations. Mr. matabele Rahim Allah, and his explanation of this verse,
he says, So treat them just as you treat other nations, they have rights, they are nations, they have a right to the earth. They have a right and responsibility over us, just as we have rights over them, just as we are allowed to eat some of their meat, just as we as our are allowed to use them to write and further benefits. Likewise, they have rights over us. And this is something which the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned, and something which the companions or the alarm also took up, the lightning was rhodiola and the famous companion, he said, we will once traveling with the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and once we stopped in a place, the Messenger of Allah
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he went a distance away. And so the companions were left amongst themselves. So they found that there was a bird. And the bird had two chicks, two small birds. And so the companions went and they took the checks, and they wanted to play with them. And so the bird began to fly over their heads, and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam came back
And he saw what was going on. So he said to them, return the birds to its mother. Indeed, the mother has become upset. And so the companions returned this, this was the extent to which the companions will be alone and who understood the rights of these birds, even to play with their chicks to take her away from the mother, just as the mother from a human would feel distress, if you were to come and take his child away, for no good reason. Likewise, the bird felt that same distress, omelette mahatama do long run. He has the famous saying in which he said, then indeed, I fear that a lot of xojo will hold me to account and Yeoman piano for a common, a common that was living all the way
around. Omar was in Medina. And he said, I would fear that Allah would hold me to account for a camel that will live in Iraq, a camel that will trip upon the road, because I was responsible for leveling the road for making sure there were no potholes for making sure that there were no bricks that were taken out of place. And so if it was to trip because of that road, that was my responsibility, then Allah azza wa jal will hold me to account for that unusual piano anomaly bin Abdulaziz rocky mahalo Tara tala, the scholar of Islam, he had a seven point avoid that you would use to go and do some work to make some money for him and for his family. And so he gave that boy a
moon, and he said, use the moon. And each and every single day the boy would come and he would give her money bin Abdulaziz, a single Durham, a Durham from the profits that he made. And so one day he came back and he gave him a day and a half, slightly more than he was used to. And so he said, How did you get more today? Where has this extra half a Durham come from? So the boy said, we made extra profit today. And so I'm gonna say no, rather you worked your animal harder than usual. And then he ordered that the animal be allowed to rest for three days. This was the way the companions were the loved one. And this was the way that the scholars of Islam or akima Humala, so we need to assess
ourselves, not only when we allow our children to have pets, not only when we see animals in the street, not only with the way we deal with animals, but the major benefit that we take from this is the mercy of this religion. And if this Mercy is extended to animals, then what about your fellow Muslim or about your brother and sister or about your spouse's and your children and your parents and your family members and those who have rights upon you?
