Can you all move forward inshaa Allahu Ta'ala
because there's a lot of people in the
Masjid,
and it's going to get very packed inshaa
Allahu Ta'ala.
Bless you all.
As you are all aware,
Ramadan is just around the corner.
Brothers and sisters,
if only we knew
what it means to be able to breathe
in the month of Ramadan.
To be able to reach the month of
Ramadan.
They say there's around 24 hours remaining.
It could be tomorrow and it could be
the day after tomorrow.
Brothers and sisters,
the prophet
he talked to us about the virtue
of just being able to reach the month
of Ramadan.
Ask yourselves why? Why would the salaf? And
when we say the salaf brothers and sisters
we mean the Quran al Muqaddala,
the 3 golden generations,
the Sahaba, the Tabi'in, the Tabi'i Tabi'in.
The people the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam
said about
The best of these my generation, then those
who came after them, and those who came
after them. Those who Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
praised in the Quran.
The Muhajireen,
those who came before us from the Ansar
and those who follow them oh goodness.
Allah is pleased with them and they are
pleased with Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
The Salaf al Khwani
the Tabi'in the Tabi'in
they will ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
6 months before the month of Ramadan.
Oh Allah,
give us the ability to reach the month
of Ramadan. 6 months before, not 1 week,
not 1 month, but 6 months before the
month of Ramadan.
That's half of the
year. Why
would they ask
to do so?
Brothers and sisters most of us are aware
of the individual
undoubtedly
the greatest boxer to walk on the face
of this earth, Muhammad Ali.
Last year he died a couple of days
before the month of Ramadan.
There is stories going around
of people who may have died the 9th
before the month of Ramadan.
There was a brother
a brother he was recently relating this in
one of his lectures.
The night before the month of Ramadan
him and his cousin
were inside a car or was inside a
car with a sister
and he passed away going to a car
crash.
None of us are guaranteed brothers and sisters
to reach the month of Ramadan.
If we look at
the Hadith of Taqir Nabi'Allahu
Ta'ala Anhu He narrates a dream
that he had.
This story was narrated by Abu Nuhaja who
died 8 days before the month of before
the month of Ramadan finished.
He may not have managed to reach
late atulqaddah.
The opportunity was missed.
But it's not been Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
decreed.
He says that he saw in a dream.
2 individuals,
these 2 brothers and sisters,
they came to the Prophet
in real life.
They both embrace the Islam at the same
time.
They both embraced Al Islam at the same
time.
One of them guys used to strive much.
He used to strive much, Fastushida
and he died as a martyr.
The other individual,
he never managed to obtain his great of
dying as a martyr.
He lived
another year.
Talhaime Nabi Baydillah
radiAllahu ta'ala Anhu he sees in the dream
that someone came out of a jannah.
He allowed the second person, not the matter,
the second person who died a year later
to enter into Aljannah
first.
And then the martyr entered.
So when he was at the door,
they told him go back your time hasn't
come yet.
He woke up and he started narrating the
dream to the other companions.
They became amazed by it.
The Prophet Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam heard about this, he said, Bimataajibun,
why are you
amazed? Then the second individual
managed to reach the month of Ramadan,
Adaraka Ramadan.
And
he also had many frustrations
and many salawats
in the year.
The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said,
Between them both
is like the heavens and the earth
in virtue
and in reward.
Just because he managed to reach the month
of Ramadan, he lived an extra year.
Brothers and sisters, I understand the situation is
that when we are given this great virtue,
this great faqidilah,
we just let Ramadan just go past like
that
and we don't utilize this time.
We don't benefit from it as much as
we can.
The kind of opportunity that we have been
given brothers and sisters.
Abu Hurayra Radiallahu ta'ala Anhu he says Anur
Rasool Allah SAW Alaihi Wasallam
went on the mimba
And he said, Ameen, Ameen, Ameen. Three times.
So after that they asked him, You Rasoolullah,
why did you say Ameen?
He said, Jibreel.
Jibreel came to me
and he said to me,
Wretched is the individual
who managed to reach the month of Ramadan
and he wasn't forgiven.
Look at that brothers and sisters.
And if we look closely at the hadith,
who's the one that said, Amin alhamur Rahimin
al Harth?
The Most Merciful of those to have a
walk on the face of this earth, he's
saying Ameel,
asking Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to accept this
dua that Jibreel Alaihis salam made, And he's
saying Ameen.
When he is
He wouldn't tolerate it.
He wouldn't accept a person to reach the
month of Ramadan.
He has no
excuse whatsoever
With the shaateen being locked up.
All the means you've been given.
The people around you are fasting, which assist
the person in being able to fulfill the
Ibadah.
People are doing the Ibadah jama'ain
collectively
which makes it easy for a person.
And then a person comes to the month
of Ramadan.
You have an example guys
of a man who was married
to an individual
and what he done was he divorced his
wife 3 times in a sitting.
He doesn't know the hokum that he counts
as 1.
He becomes upset,
he becomes depressed, he becomes stressed.
He's lost the love of his life, he
knows he can't go back, that's what he
thinks.
2 weeks later, the imam tells him he
counts as 1. You can go back to
your wife. You can take her back.
What does he do again? He's been given
a great opportunity, he divorces her again.
What did the people say? What is this
Naqiyes doing?
He's just been given another great opportunity. He's
blown it.
They have this also when it comes to
football.
On the 96th minute, the person is given
an open goal, he misses. Everybody goes, oh,
what a chance is blown.
You have every type of means
to be able to get the month the
best out of the month of Ramadan
And then we don't benefit from it brothers
and sisters.
And we don't
have accept ourselves to blame.
Brothers and sisters, the brothers Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam,
he said in Hadith
When you stand up for the prayer,
then pray your farewell prayer.
Because you might not be able to reach
the next prayer.
Pray it as if you're not going to
pray another prayer.
If this is regarding the prayer that we
have 5 times a day.
There's only a few hours between the salawat.
Imagine the Ramadan that is another year away
if we blow this chance.
What guarantee do we have that we're going
to reach the month of Ramadan next year
2018?
We don't have any guarantee.
As Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala tells us about
the moat, the dead
It comes to you unexpectedly.
You don't have someone messaging you. No one's
gonna phone you brother, get ready. In a
week's time you're gonna pass away.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
tells us about those who become regretful on
your Multiyama.
Allah tells
the messenger sallallahu alaihi wasallam to warn them.
Warn them of the day of regret.
The prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam pointed to the
dunya.
Warn them of the day of regret when
the matters have been decreed.
There's no going back.
You don't get another opportunity.
Matters done and dusted.
Allah says in the Quran,
Before there comes a time and you're regretful.
If only if only. There's no if only.
I can go back to the dunya
and I can give charity.
And when the death comes to them, they
say, take me back.
If only I can do
more good deeds.
It's a day of regret. One of the
names
of the day of judgment is Al Haslam,
the day of regret.
Brothers and sisters, do not waste this opportunity.
Try as much as you can to save
a portion of your day into doing the
Ibadat
that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala asked you to
do,
to become forgiven.
Brothers and sisters,
a very crucial, vital point
that I wanted to cover
in this Sukhba is that which is pertaining
our heart.
Because of an action of the heart,
depending on whether we correct you or not
could be the reason why
we get the best out of Ramadan
or we get
absolutely nothing.
And us giving time to our hearts, brothers
and sisters, in trying to rectify it
is something
crucial.
Because if we rectify our hearts, brothers and
sisters, our actions become rectified.
As the prophet salallahu alaihi was telling me,
told us in a famous hadith.
In the body of an individual
is a piece of flesh.
If that becomes rectified,
everything else becomes rectified.
And if that becomes corrupted,
everything else becomes rectified.
This is the heart.
Brothers and sisters, just the intention.
Us going into the month of Ramadan
and rectifying this intention,
something that a salib
mentioned so much, they struggled with it. Forget
about anyone else. The best people to ever
walk on the face of this earth, they
struggled with their intentions. Where do any of
us stand?
We are all my brothers and sisters that
have been trialed
in giving so much time in trying to
perfect our outer appearance.
If you look at a sister,
she might spend 4 hours before she starts
her shift
in trying to perfect her outer appearance
by putting all these chemicals and makeup on
her face,
foundation,
Mac makeup
and all these other names that they have
that are very mainstream.
I remember one time when I was working
a couple of years ago
a sister was being mocked
because she leaked up to those who she
works with, that she wakes up 4 hours
before her
shift in order to beautify herself,
to put all these chemicals and makeup on
her face.
So they're laughing at her.
Then you have the guy
who might spend half of his day in
the gym.
Half of his day.
He's able to pick up 200 kilos. He
can go as far as bending,
bending the metal part between the weights. That's
how strong he is.
I'm not saying do not work out
or to try to be healthy
but brothers and sisters
this is not something that
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is concerned with.
He told us in the Hadith, Inna Allah
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala doesn't look at your
bodies,
and He doesn't look at the way you
look.
But Radhala which he looks at
is your actions in your heart.
Brothers and sisters, on your Almatyam
a big fat guy is brought.
A big fat hench guy.
And he won't weigh the weight of the
wing of a mosquito.
Forget about the weight of a mosquito. The
wing of a mosquito.
Then the prophet said, Ikhro, read.
On Yomarteyem, we're not going to give them
any weight.
He didn't look after his actions. He didn't
give any consent to his heart. He'll be
weighing nothing.
And maybe if he was to be weighed
today, the weight machine might say to be
continued.
On the other hand, guide Abdullah Masrud
from the most tremendous of the Sahaba
to walk on the face of his head.
He narrated, he said
One time it was on top of a
tree. He was trying to get the the
pieces of wood in order to make
work. The wind came and it blew his
clothes.
What happened? His shins became apparent.
The people that were there, they started laughing
at him. The prophet salallahu alayhi was then
he said,
why are you laughing?
They said, min dirktati saqih.
Because of the thinness of his thins, of
his shins.
The prophet sallallahu alaihi was replied back and
he said,
The mountain of Uhud, brother says, takes 4
hours to climb to get to the top.
Just as shins are going wide,
Abdulai Musgrove
was an individual who had the Amal.
His heart, he had actions.
They're able to meet Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
The iman that these people had, the actions
that they came with
is nothing compared to what we might ever
do in our lives.
Brothers and sisters, the intention.
Most of us know the famous Hadith that
we all know about and that we've read
about.
No action is accepted from a person except
with the correct intention.
We have to ask ourselves all the time
all the time guys.
Why am I doing this? Am I fasting
the month of Ramadan
based upon a fabricated Hadith?
Fast
and you'll gain good health
or maybe because I just want to you
know at the end of Ramadan I wanna
look great again.
Or we're just fasting because everybody else
is fasting.
And we're going to come on your ul
alayr, like the one mentioned in the hadith.
Inal rajula.
As the prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said
They sit him down and they say to
him.
What did you used to say about Muhammad
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam?
Sayyid Gurabu be Maghathim Khadid. Sayyid
Hussain Adani Asmar al Zathari.
A Ayah Hamma is brought and it hits
in between his eyes.
He shouts a shouting that everything hears it
except the Taftarayin the jinn that ends.
Do we wanna come on Yom Ktan, we
fasted because everybody else fasted?
I prayed just because everybody else is praying.
I prayed only because, you know, I wanted
to please my parents.
The intention is something very very important.
Just the intention guys, it could have a
positive impact on a fazid's life or you
could have a very negative one.
And there's many a hadith to prove that.
The prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam,
he told us about taking dain,
about taking some debt.
He said in the Hadith as in Sahil
Bukhari
you read Adaha
at the Allahu Anhu.
Whoever takes the wealth of the people.
But his intention is to pay them back.
You know what happens guys?
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala will help him pay
you back. But if he takes the money
and he wants to do him over,
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala will end up doing
him over. Can you see just the intention?
If it leans towards positivity
or towards negativity, what could happen?
Another example,
The prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, he told us
about the individual who provides for his family.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala will reward
every spending that a person does as long
as he what? Tries to seek the pleasure
of Allah.
Even that which you place the Musul that
you place in the mouth of your wife.
Today guys we might look at you know
buying the shopping as something that we just
have to do, it's part of life. Imagine
we just changed that intention
and and we made a lean towards,
you know, pleasing Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala in
every action that we do.
Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, he tells
There's no
good or there's no goodness in the there's
no khair
in the secret counseling that the people have.
As long as the guy is trying to
join
good or he's advising the people to pay
sadaqah
or he's trying to rectify the how which
happens between the people.
Look what Allah mentioned in the end of
the ayah.
Whoever does that trying to seek the satisfaction
of his Lord,
This person are going to give him a
great reward.
Not your not you just trying to solve
the people's problems because you wanna be respected
in the community
or maybe because if you solve this problem,
you're going to get some cash on the
side,
or for whatever other reason.
But because you do it for the sake
of Allah, you're getting the immense reward.
Allah tells us about the problems that are
going and taking place between the husband and
the wife.
In you read the islaha.
Allah says to us in the Quran, if
you fear that there is problems between that
a husband and a wife,
bring out a family member from him and
a family member from him. Then Allah says,
if they want rectification,
if they desire rectification, Allah will bring, fulfill.
Give them success. We'll solve the promise for
them just because of their intention.
Brothers and sisters,
it's one of the most difficult of things
that even instead of the Tabi Ein, they
try to rectify.
It's not easy but we have to keep
asking, we won't actualize true sincerity
until we always ask ourselves
why did I do this? Did I really
do this for Allah azza wa jal?
Did I really want the reward of Allah
azza wa jal in this prayer that I
prayed?
Or did I do this just because
I wanted to show off to the people
that I'm very very righteous?
Constantly asking ourselves
is a sign of Iman.
You have
Sufyanath Thawr, I'm Allah, from the most tremendous
of the time being made.
You know what he said guys?
I haven't tried to cure
something more greater than my intention.
This is sufian authority.
Ibrahim Muhullah, the tremendous tawyer, is saying this.
Why? Because he keeps changing.
Then I come to another part of the
Hadith. Imagine the Hadith is 5 lines.
He says I have an intention in the
beginning. Then I reach maybe the 3rd line
and my knee has changed.
Could be for whatever reason.
Maybe because
now I'm gonna up my game
because there's many people watching and I'm gonna
try and impress them.
And you know what he said?
1 Hadith, it requires multiple intentions to keep
striving or fighting against yourselves.
Truthfulness
and also Ikhlas, you know sincerity was mentioned
to him. He said
these scholars they were raised because of these
two things.
It's not an easy matter,
something we should always ask ourselves
all the time. Instead of giving so many
hours to our bodies and our outer appearances,
imagine we just gave,
you know,
an hour of our day
secluding ourselves.
People think that this is a deviant ad
because a deviant group of people does this.
Secluding yourself from everybody
and maybe contemplating something that the Prophet used
to do.
To just think about your actions,
try to clean your heart from Hasid,
Gil,
and all sorts of you know very
unpraised.
Any characteristics that our hearts might have.
I heard Sheikh Sulaimanur Rahayil from the Mashalikha
Bil Medina who teach in Al Haram. He's
sitting on the chair teaching.
He said guys me sitting on this chair,
I'm striving against myself.
Striving against myself
in trying to stay sincere.
Who's free from it? Any,
who's free from it after this guys?
These are the masha'is that we know. Who
we
you know.
Who we see them to be from the
most rectified of people on this earth.
He's striving against himself.
And Sheikh Salih al Usaymi, he once mentioned
and he's mentioned his Kitab as
A person, he obtains knowledge in accordance with
the Khalas.
Brothers and sisters in Laav strive
and try very hard in trying to rectify
your intentions before we come on Yawm Al
Qiyamah and our actions like Haba and athura,
scattered particles.
Perhaps he fasted, he might fast, and he
gets nothing out of his fasting except what?
Hunger and
