Abu Bakr Zoud – 6 Matters For A Sincere Tawbah – Repentance

How do we make a sincere, honest tawbah

to Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala?

Allah azza wa jal, he said, يَا أَيُّهَا

الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا تُوبُوا إِلَى اللَّهِ تَوْبَةً نَصُوحًا O

you who believe, make a sincere and an

honest tawbah to Allah azza wa jal, repentance.

So that involves six things.

Number one, that you repent from all your

sins, the minor, the major, the ones that

you know, the ones that you don't know,

the ones that you committed publicly, the ones

that you committed privately, the ones that you

committed jokingly, the ones that you did intentionally,

unintentionally, all of them you include them in

your tawbah and with that type of intention.

Number two, you must repent out of fear

of Allah azza wa jal.

So you're not repenting from the sins because

they've just become boring and you've grown out

of them.

No, you must make the repentance because you

fear Allah azza wa jal and you fear

the hellfire and you fear the displeasure of

Allah azza wa jal.

So that should be the intention when you're

making your repentance to Allah azza wa jal.

Number three, it must be in the correct

time.

So long as you're living, so long as

the sun hasn't reached or come out from

the West and your soul hasn't reached the

throat, then every time would be a correct

time for a tawbah.

If the sun rises from the West or

the soul has reached the throat.

It's not a time for tawbah.

Tawbah will not be accepted.

Repentance will not be accepted at that time.

Number four is that you regret what you

did.

You regret disobeying Allah azza wa jal.

You regret that you used the blessings of

Allah to disobey him because every disobedience we

do is with a blessing Allah gave us.

If we disobeyed Allah with our hands, that's

a blessing Allah gave us.

If you disobeyed Allah with our eyes, that's

a blessing He gave us.

If we disobey Allah with our tongue, that's

a blessing He gave us.

Without E, that's a blessing He gave us.

So we regret that we disobeyed Allah with

blessings He gave us.

number five you stop the sin that's in

the present you'll stop it right now and

number six you intend never to return the

sin afterwards that would be an honest sincere

toward number six is that you do not

intend to go back to that sin and

the thing is you might end up falling

into that sin but that doesn't matter that

will not invalidate your towa because from the

condition of a toba is to not intend

to fall into the sin but it's not

from the conditions that you never fall into

the sin afterwards you might fall into the

sin afterwards but never intend to go back

into it these are six matters if you

were to make sure of when you make

a toba then that means your toba is

the highest and the strongest toba a human

being could possibly make we ask Allah to

grant us a sincere and an honest toba

in our life and to grant us a

sincere and an honest toba before our death
