Allah subhanho wa Taala says in the Quran, Allah Hina Ave Aisha de

00:00:03 --> 00:00:07

hookman de la, the people who believe they are the most ardent

00:00:07 --> 00:00:11

and strongest in their love for Allah subhanho wa Taala so why is

00:00:11 --> 00:00:16

it that we can't say I love you Allah? Why is it that we can't

00:00:16 --> 00:00:20

think of loving Allah subhanaw taala because love is not just

00:00:20 --> 00:00:23

something you say, right? You can't just say I love you to

00:00:23 --> 00:00:28

someone. It's not really love is a very strong emotion. Right? You

00:00:28 --> 00:00:31

don't want to be saying that to people just for the sake of it.

00:00:31 --> 00:00:35

Right? Because then it just sounds fake. Because love show when you

00:00:35 --> 00:00:39

have love for something, you do everything for it. Love literally

00:00:39 --> 00:00:40

blinds you and defends you.

00:00:46 --> 00:00:48

hamdulillahi rabbil Alameen

00:00:49 --> 00:00:53

wa Salatu was Salam wa ala Sayidina Muhammad woreda early he

00:00:54 --> 00:00:58

was sabe he was seldom at the Sleeman Kathira on Ilario MIDI and

00:00:58 --> 00:00:59

my beret.

00:01:00 --> 00:01:03

God Allah with the baraka with the rnfl Quran emoji, they will

00:01:03 --> 00:01:08

decline it Hamid Well, Lavina Manu, Usha Hogben Nila

00:01:11 --> 00:01:12

Sadaqa Allahu La vie.

00:01:14 --> 00:01:15

Allah subhanho wa Taala

00:01:17 --> 00:01:22

He has created us and then he manages the affairs of the world.

00:01:24 --> 00:01:27

And part of the management of the affairs of this world is that he

00:01:27 --> 00:01:31

provides for us and He sustains us. He takes care of us, He

00:01:31 --> 00:01:35

provides the facilities within which we operate the environment

00:01:36 --> 00:01:40

in which we live. He provides us the capabilities of breathing,

00:01:41 --> 00:01:47

eating, drinking, sustaining ourselves, of thinking, of getting

00:01:47 --> 00:01:51

by in this life of assisting others, and allowing others to

00:01:51 --> 00:01:52

assist us

00:01:53 --> 00:01:58

of doing things for ourselves and doing things for others by doing

00:01:58 --> 00:02:02

business and trade, to provide a living for ourselves and to

00:02:02 --> 00:02:07

provide facilities and goods and merchandise and things that what

00:02:07 --> 00:02:11

other people need. That's what humans produce. Humans are a

00:02:11 --> 00:02:16

collective community, a social community that assist one another

00:02:16 --> 00:02:21

and that, that care for one another. And that cater for one

00:02:21 --> 00:02:21

another.

00:02:22 --> 00:02:26

Sometimes within all of that, within thinking about ourselves

00:02:26 --> 00:02:30

and thinking about others. Whether that mean that be through

00:02:30 --> 00:02:34

compassionate means whether that be through trade or business, we

00:02:34 --> 00:02:38

sometimes forget the one who is giving it to us all. The one who's

00:02:38 --> 00:02:42

providing everything, the one who's facilitating everything, the

00:02:42 --> 00:02:48

one who were here, because he wanted us to be here, and he

00:02:48 --> 00:02:54

decided that we would be here as opposed to someone else. So by

00:02:54 --> 00:02:58

this, Allah subhanaw taala wants us to not forget him. So he tells

00:02:58 --> 00:03:03

us that you pray at least five times a day. And Akeem is solid

00:03:03 --> 00:03:09

politically established the prayer for my remembrance. So we focus on

00:03:09 --> 00:03:13

the prayer, the prayer is for the sake of Allah subhanaw taala and

00:03:13 --> 00:03:16

to remember him. So it's actually to remember Allah subhanaw taala

00:03:16 --> 00:03:19

in the sense that he is our Creator. And that's where

00:03:19 --> 00:03:22

ultimately we're going to return to him as well. Now, the

00:03:22 --> 00:03:27

interesting thing here is that the more you know about something, the

00:03:27 --> 00:03:31

more you become attracted to it. The more you know about something

00:03:31 --> 00:03:34

as long as it has good qualities you become attracted to it.

00:03:35 --> 00:03:36

So for example,

00:03:39 --> 00:03:42

if you're looking for a car or a house, you find the house, you're

00:03:42 --> 00:03:48

looking for a house, you see many, and you dismiss many of them. Why

00:03:48 --> 00:03:52

would you dismiss many houses, in fact, when you start looking for a

00:03:52 --> 00:03:56

house, you start looking online for listings, that's the new way

00:03:56 --> 00:03:59

of doing it before you'd have to drive around the neighborhood and

00:04:00 --> 00:04:04

see whether for sale boards are nowadays you do it from the

00:04:04 --> 00:04:08

comfort of your own home from your phone, and they show you pictures

00:04:08 --> 00:04:12

and everything, you will just probably dismiss many of them just

00:04:12 --> 00:04:14

by looking at them. And then there's a few that you will single

00:04:14 --> 00:04:18

out that these are worth going to see. Because if you were to look

00:04:18 --> 00:04:20

at every house that's available in the area, I mean, there's so many

00:04:20 --> 00:04:24

houses. So you go and you look at them. And then as soon as you look

00:04:24 --> 00:04:26

at them, you make a decision, whether it's something that you

00:04:26 --> 00:04:28

want or not, it's a big decision.

00:04:29 --> 00:04:33

Now, if there's one or two that catch your interest, then there's

00:04:33 --> 00:04:36

still a number of other hurdles that you have to overcome. But why

00:04:36 --> 00:04:39

did they catch your interest is the question they caught your

00:04:39 --> 00:04:43

interest because they have features that attract you. That

00:04:43 --> 00:04:47

your heart inclines towards that your heart begins to like you like

00:04:47 --> 00:04:52

those things. And the more feature that house with will have then the

00:04:52 --> 00:04:56

more infatuated you will become with that house. And then you will

00:04:57 --> 00:04:59

be really sad if you were to lose it.

00:05:00 --> 00:05:03

You'll feel losing it, in fact, and then it becomes a bidding

00:05:03 --> 00:05:06

process of who pays the most, especially if it's a competitive

00:05:06 --> 00:05:10

market, then why are people willing to pay so much more, they

00:05:10 --> 00:05:12

say that if you're going to buy a house to live in, then you'll,

00:05:12 --> 00:05:15

you'll pay more. Because you're going to live in there forever,

00:05:15 --> 00:05:17

and the price will eventually appreciate. If you're buying

00:05:17 --> 00:05:19

something for investment, then you know, you have to try to get the

00:05:19 --> 00:05:21

best price because it's an investment, you're trying to

00:05:21 --> 00:05:24

maximize your profits. But here your profit is you're living in

00:05:24 --> 00:05:29

them. So why do we bid more? Why do we go after something? Why do

00:05:29 --> 00:05:32

we make such an effort behind it is because the qualities of that

00:05:32 --> 00:05:37

house as opposed to other houses or other homes have attracted us.

00:05:39 --> 00:05:42

Similarly, when you want to buy when you want to buy a phone,

00:05:44 --> 00:05:47

phones are much more of an easier purchase than a car, for example,

00:05:47 --> 00:05:48

or than a house,

00:05:49 --> 00:05:53

you could even make a mistake in a phone, you'd lose, you might lose

00:05:53 --> 00:05:55

a bit of money, and you may have to resell the phone if you don't

00:05:55 --> 00:05:56

like it.

00:05:57 --> 00:05:59

But when it comes to a car and other things, it just gets more

00:05:59 --> 00:06:00

complicated.

00:06:02 --> 00:06:05

But again, it's the same thing, if I've identified one car that I

00:06:05 --> 00:06:10

need, because I had to get rid of my car for Ulus purposes to

00:06:12 --> 00:06:14

so that you don't get charged every day.

00:06:15 --> 00:06:19

For the the environment tax or whatever they've put on the cars.

00:06:19 --> 00:06:23

So now I found the car that I'm interested in. Why am I interested

00:06:23 --> 00:06:26

in that car, because it seems to fit the criteria I'm looking for.

00:06:27 --> 00:06:31

It has the qualities and characteristics that interests me.

00:06:31 --> 00:06:34

That's why I've singled out that car has seven seats, and it's this

00:06:34 --> 00:06:38

that another and he has those, those few things. But there's a

00:06:38 --> 00:06:40

few other things that I would have liked to have. But it doesn't have

00:06:40 --> 00:06:44

that, but I'm willing to, I'm willing to overlook those things

00:06:44 --> 00:06:47

because he has because there's no car that has everything, unless

00:06:47 --> 00:06:50

you want to buy a brand new car, you want to order it, even then

00:06:50 --> 00:06:53

you may not get 100% everything but we are limited in terms of how

00:06:53 --> 00:06:54

much you can pay.

00:06:55 --> 00:06:57

It's only in paradise where you can literally want whatever you

00:06:57 --> 00:07:01

want, and have a designer, you know designed to exact

00:07:01 --> 00:07:03

specification and there is no

00:07:04 --> 00:07:07

and there's no one for money there. There's no one for cash

00:07:07 --> 00:07:09

there because our rewards inshallah will be very, very

00:07:09 --> 00:07:13

valuable in the hereafter our good deeds once we get into paradise.

00:07:14 --> 00:07:16

But here you get a budget you have to worry about as well.

00:07:18 --> 00:07:21

So now what happens is that there's a few characteristics and

00:07:21 --> 00:07:24

now suddenly somebody tells you about another car and alternative.

00:07:25 --> 00:07:29

Until now your whole mind was focused on this car, you literally

00:07:29 --> 00:07:33

as they say have bushy your me were your Sim, right? The love of

00:07:33 --> 00:07:37

something blinds and defends you. So you didn't want to look at any

00:07:37 --> 00:07:40

it's too confusing. Right? That's why you don't look at others too

00:07:40 --> 00:07:45

confusing. You know, you want to focus on what your object of your,

00:07:45 --> 00:07:48

your desire, when somebody tells you, you really need to check this

00:07:48 --> 00:07:53

car. So you start looking at it cursor in a cursory way. And there

00:07:53 --> 00:07:57

are certain features that stand out to you. And they attract you.

00:07:57 --> 00:08:00

So you go and you take a test drive, you know, a friend's friend

00:08:00 --> 00:08:02

has one, so you're gonna really like it.

00:08:04 --> 00:08:07

So now it's between these two cards now.

00:08:09 --> 00:08:12

And then what happens is that you finally decided this card because

00:08:12 --> 00:08:16

it has more going for it. There's more attraction in there because

00:08:16 --> 00:08:19

there's more characteristics that are attracting you compared to the

00:08:19 --> 00:08:20

other one.

00:08:21 --> 00:08:23

Sitting you decide to buy that car.

00:08:26 --> 00:08:29

Now, why did you get off the other car? Because you found an

00:08:29 --> 00:08:30

alternative?

00:08:31 --> 00:08:34

Number one, you found an alternative? Why was that

00:08:34 --> 00:08:37

alternative better than that? It wasn't an arbitrary decision was

00:08:37 --> 00:08:40

it? You know, for somebody who thinks is not an arbitrary

00:08:40 --> 00:08:45

decision. I know one person he needs a car. He literally went out

00:08:45 --> 00:08:49

found he needed a van. Right? He found the first van.

00:08:50 --> 00:08:53

He found the first van within four hours anyone bought it because he

00:08:53 --> 00:08:56

just needed a van. That's it. He didn't care what it was he was the

00:08:56 --> 00:08:58

first van he bought, paid the money and took took it and then he

00:08:58 --> 00:09:01

had to deal with whatever the consequences. Most people don't do

00:09:01 --> 00:09:04

that today. You don't just go and buy a car like that in four hours.

00:09:06 --> 00:09:08

Unless it's for 300 pounds or something somebody's flogging it,

00:09:09 --> 00:09:10

you know, it's a good amount of money you're going to spend,

00:09:11 --> 00:09:14

you're going to think about it. So what attracted you to this one as

00:09:14 --> 00:09:18

opposed to that one, because it's a better alternative. It's got

00:09:18 --> 00:09:22

more characteristics. That means this had more shortcomings.

00:09:23 --> 00:09:25

Because if that has more characteristics, that means this

00:09:25 --> 00:09:30

has more shortcomings. Think about it that way. Right? It's a good

00:09:30 --> 00:09:34

car on its own. But when you've compared it then for you that has

00:09:34 --> 00:09:37

more going than that somebody else this may have more than that.

00:09:40 --> 00:09:44

Subhanallah Subhanallah now what happens is

00:09:46 --> 00:09:49

this is the exact dilemma that I think we're dealing with when it

00:09:49 --> 00:09:54

comes to Allah subhanaw taala that car that you the two cars that you

00:09:54 --> 00:09:57

are now interested in when you are interested in that first car you

00:09:57 --> 00:09:59

started seeing that car everywhere.

00:10:00 --> 00:10:04

Before that it didn't really exist, at least not in your scope

00:10:04 --> 00:10:07

of vision. It existed there were many on the roads. But now that

00:10:07 --> 00:10:11

you're interested in it, you start seeing them everywhere. Where did

00:10:11 --> 00:10:12

they will spring up from?

00:10:14 --> 00:10:17

Did they just suddenly supply them the day before and everybody

00:10:17 --> 00:10:20

bought them, and now they're everywhere? No, they've been there

00:10:20 --> 00:10:23

from before. But we weren't bothering to look at them because

00:10:23 --> 00:10:27

they did not interest us. It was not a form of it was not an object

00:10:27 --> 00:10:32

of attraction until now. Now what happens is, when you found the

00:10:32 --> 00:10:37

second car, you see those more. And these ones, you start seeing

00:10:37 --> 00:10:40

less again, they start going into oblivion, you'll still notice

00:10:40 --> 00:10:43

them. Because you're like, still comparing, like, Alhamdulillah, I

00:10:43 --> 00:10:45

didn't get that one. You'll be feeling like Alhamdulillah, I

00:10:45 --> 00:10:47

didn't get that one. So you'll still notice it.

00:10:49 --> 00:10:52

But it's the other one that you now start seeing everywhere.

00:10:54 --> 00:10:56

So now it's the same thing.

00:10:57 --> 00:10:59

It's the same kind of thing with Allah subhanaw taala.

00:11:01 --> 00:11:04

The reason we can't see Allah, in a sense, you can't see him anyway.

00:11:05 --> 00:11:07

But the reason we can't even see his signs everywhere is because

00:11:07 --> 00:11:09

we're not interested.

00:11:10 --> 00:11:13

We don't, we're not interested, we've not attached our heart to

00:11:13 --> 00:11:14

him.

00:11:16 --> 00:11:20

Why haven't we attached our heart to him, if there's something good

00:11:20 --> 00:11:26

that has a attraction, then you're going to attach your heart to it.

00:11:27 --> 00:11:30

Especially if it is really, really

00:11:31 --> 00:11:32

a strong attraction,

00:11:33 --> 00:11:38

a very strong attraction in there, then you can't help it. But as I

00:11:38 --> 00:11:42

said, first, the reason why we didn't see the second car, is

00:11:42 --> 00:11:46

because we had a focus on the first car. The reason why we

00:11:46 --> 00:11:48

didn't see those on the streets before is because we were not

00:11:48 --> 00:11:52

interested in we had an alternative. And the reason why

00:11:52 --> 00:11:56

then we started focusing on the second car over the first car, is

00:11:56 --> 00:11:59

because the second one attracted us and took our attraction away

00:12:00 --> 00:12:01

from the first one.

00:12:02 --> 00:12:05

Sometimes you've seen people making a bad decision having you

00:12:06 --> 00:12:09

where they will completely abandon a good thing and take a bad thing

00:12:09 --> 00:12:14

for you don't understand why, but they do some reason. They have

00:12:14 --> 00:12:18

their own personal reasons, they they will let go of some a better

00:12:18 --> 00:12:22

deal and go for something inferior. Why would they do that?

00:12:22 --> 00:12:25

Maybe because of some some weird idea, you know, some personal

00:12:25 --> 00:12:30

preference, maybe some wrong idea. Everybody's sending him get that

00:12:30 --> 00:12:35

one. But the person may have made this decision after 567. Now, we

00:12:35 --> 00:12:38

don't want to judge people's decision. But after 567 years,

00:12:38 --> 00:12:40

they decided themselves that I made the wrong decision.

00:12:41 --> 00:12:45

I should not have married here. I should not have moved here. I

00:12:45 --> 00:12:47

should not have done this. I shouldn't have taken this job. I

00:12:47 --> 00:12:50

shouldn't have done this course. Maybe even after one year,

00:12:51 --> 00:12:54

everybody was telling them something else. But they decided

00:12:54 --> 00:12:58

to go for something inferior. Are we deluded like that as well?

00:12:59 --> 00:13:02

Where the reason why we can't see Allah subhanaw taala the reason

00:13:02 --> 00:13:05

why we can't experience Him everywhere is because we're just

00:13:06 --> 00:13:11

focused on other things too much. I guess the better example is that

00:13:11 --> 00:13:14

there's a responsibility that we have that we better prepare for

00:13:14 --> 00:13:17

something you know, you have to go for Hajj or whatever and you kept

00:13:17 --> 00:13:20

delaying it, delaying it, delaying it because you're focused on

00:13:20 --> 00:13:21

something else. I

00:13:22 --> 00:13:25

don't really want to take off work I want to do this first I want to

00:13:26 --> 00:13:29

spend on this first I want to get that new sofa set. I want to get

00:13:29 --> 00:13:33

that new TV or whatever it is, then I'll go for Hutch

00:13:35 --> 00:13:37

that is that a decision that we're taking?

00:13:38 --> 00:13:41

Allah subhanho wa Taala says in the Quran, Valentina. Ave, Aisha,

00:13:41 --> 00:13:45

hug Mandela, the people who believe they are the most ardent

00:13:46 --> 00:13:49

and strongest in their love for Allah subhanho wa taala.

00:13:51 --> 00:13:56

So why is it that we can't say I love you Allah? Why is it that we

00:13:56 --> 00:14:00

can't think of loving Allah subhanaw taala? Because love is

00:14:00 --> 00:14:04

not just something you say, right? You can't just say I love you to

00:14:04 --> 00:14:09

someone. It's not really love is a very strong emotion. Right? You

00:14:09 --> 00:14:12

don't want to be saying that to people just for the sake of it.

00:14:12 --> 00:14:16

Right? Because then it just sounds fake. Because love. When you have

00:14:16 --> 00:14:20

love for something, you do everything for it. Love literally

00:14:20 --> 00:14:23

blinds you and defends you. Now what is love? You see, that's the

00:14:23 --> 00:14:28

thing. People have brothers and sisters right? Now you may just

00:14:28 --> 00:14:31

love one of your brothers sisters more than the other. It doesn't

00:14:31 --> 00:14:33

mean that you have to be unfair to the others or you are unfair to

00:14:33 --> 00:14:37

that you just love one more than the other. Why? Because Allah has

00:14:37 --> 00:14:39

put that in your heart. You can't help it.

00:14:40 --> 00:14:44

You may love one of your children more than the others. Your equal

00:14:44 --> 00:14:48

you you treat them all well, but it's just one you love more than

00:14:48 --> 00:14:49

others.

00:14:50 --> 00:14:53

Those who have children will probably understand that which is

00:14:53 --> 00:14:54

the most beloved child generally.

00:14:56 --> 00:14:59

They say there's a few contenders in this they say the eldest one

00:15:00 --> 00:15:04

because he's probably the first one, then they say that the last

00:15:04 --> 00:15:07

one is always the most beloved.

00:15:09 --> 00:15:09

And

00:15:11 --> 00:15:13

he's the most he or she is most beloved until the next one comes

00:15:13 --> 00:15:17

along, then they become the most beloved. And the third candidate

00:15:17 --> 00:15:20

is the one who's sick. They become the most beloved for that moment

00:15:20 --> 00:15:25

as well. So where does that put the middle children? Anybody a

00:15:25 --> 00:15:26

middle child here.

00:15:28 --> 00:15:29

Don't feel too bad.

00:15:31 --> 00:15:34

Subhan Allah, I mean, you were the youngest at one time anyway, so

00:15:34 --> 00:15:39

Hamdulillah. So they say that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa

00:15:39 --> 00:15:45

sallam treated all of his wives equally nine at once. But he had a

00:15:45 --> 00:15:48

shot of the Allah one, he just had a natural love for her more than

00:15:48 --> 00:15:53

others. Just the natural love not that's placed by Allah. They call

00:15:53 --> 00:15:55

that in Arabic, they call the hub fit three.

00:15:56 --> 00:16:01

Right? They call that hub, fit three, natural love, you can't

00:16:01 --> 00:16:04

help it's an inherent natural love that you can't help. It's just,

00:16:04 --> 00:16:09

you love something. Now, the good thing about this is that you could

00:16:09 --> 00:16:12

have inherent love for many things, right? If it's good, what

00:16:12 --> 00:16:15

you have inherent love for and it's something that love is called

00:16:15 --> 00:16:18

for the Hamdulillah. Like, you know, we have to love our

00:16:18 --> 00:16:20

children, we have to love our parents, you have to love the

00:16:20 --> 00:16:22

Prophet sallallahu sallam, we have to love Allah subhanaw taala if

00:16:22 --> 00:16:26

somebody has the inherent love for Allah, and you just inclined

00:16:26 --> 00:16:28

towards the Prophet salallahu Salam and loves him as well,

00:16:28 --> 00:16:30

that's wonderful, you don't have to make an effort if you're it's

00:16:30 --> 00:16:33

already there, because it's naturally there.

00:16:35 --> 00:16:39

But sometimes, you can't have you don't have that

00:16:40 --> 00:16:42

you don't have a natural love for something, you might even have an

00:16:42 --> 00:16:47

aversion or you may just be non committal, just neutral towards

00:16:47 --> 00:16:51

something. But it's something you must love, then what

00:16:53 --> 00:16:56

your job would become easy if you start loving it to a certain

00:16:56 --> 00:16:56

degree.

00:16:57 --> 00:16:59

So now if you think

00:17:00 --> 00:17:05

it's not the best job that I could get, but my chalet pays well, and

00:17:06 --> 00:17:10

it lets me sustain in this climate, you know, sustain myself

00:17:10 --> 00:17:14

in this climate and my family. So let me put everything in it. So

00:17:14 --> 00:17:18

you start looking at the qualities of this work, and you try to gain

00:17:18 --> 00:17:22

an affection, or an attachment, or a connection with the work that

00:17:22 --> 00:17:26

you're doing. Likewise, you have to work with somebody. And with

00:17:26 --> 00:17:31

some people, you just naturally hit it off by other people, it's a

00:17:31 --> 00:17:32

bit more difficult.

00:17:33 --> 00:17:39

You may enter a class. And there's certain teachers you just find a

00:17:40 --> 00:17:45

huge amount of harmony with and congeniality with their demeanor,

00:17:45 --> 00:17:47

your demeanor just matches, there's others.

00:17:48 --> 00:17:53

It's difficult, right? They may be very strict, or they may be

00:17:54 --> 00:17:57

very laid back. Or they may be

00:17:59 --> 00:18:00

whatever else it could be.

00:18:02 --> 00:18:05

But you know that to get through and to be successful, you're going

00:18:05 --> 00:18:08

to have to make this work. So you start How do you make it work?

00:18:10 --> 00:18:13

Here in all of these cases, you need the other type of love.

00:18:14 --> 00:18:17

Because you don't have natural love. So in this one, you need

00:18:17 --> 00:18:19

hope gaspee

00:18:20 --> 00:18:22

That's the other type of love. They say hope guestspy The

00:18:22 --> 00:18:27

acquired love, how do you acquire love, you focus on the good

00:18:27 --> 00:18:27

points.

00:18:28 --> 00:18:31

You focus on the good characteristics. And that is how

00:18:31 --> 00:18:35

you acquire love and affection. Or a connection with something at

00:18:35 --> 00:18:38

least even if it's not affection is connection with something. So

00:18:38 --> 00:18:41

you think of all of the positives that your work, there may be some

00:18:41 --> 00:18:45

negatives. But you think of all of the positives. And that's how you

00:18:45 --> 00:18:48

start focusing. That's why they say that even husband and wife

00:18:48 --> 00:18:55

relationship where there's a bit of a disharmony. The point is and

00:18:55 --> 00:18:57

the Prophet sallallahu Sallam actually encouraged towards this

00:18:57 --> 00:19:01

by saying that a believer should not hate his wife. Because if he

00:19:01 --> 00:19:04

is not satisfied with certain characteristics, there will be

00:19:04 --> 00:19:07

others that he should be satisfied with can't be all bad. Because

00:19:07 --> 00:19:11

nothing is all bad, except shaytan is all bad. And everything relates

00:19:11 --> 00:19:15

shaytaan is all bad. Right? She thought can never be good. But

00:19:15 --> 00:19:19

even human Shakedowns can actually become good and turn around. So

00:19:19 --> 00:19:23

focus on the good aspects. And that's how you create connection

00:19:23 --> 00:19:27

with something and maybe even love of that thing. Now, when you have

00:19:27 --> 00:19:31

love for something, then it does a lot of things. I have a friend

00:19:31 --> 00:19:34

who's an expert on love and I mean, this is quite clear that you

00:19:34 --> 00:19:38

begin to love something. Now one thing you have to remember is that

00:19:38 --> 00:19:42

when you if you feel suddenly attracted to something,

00:19:43 --> 00:19:46

think about why you're attracted to that thing. This will give you

00:19:46 --> 00:19:51

an understanding. Let's just say that it's a car you see, man that

00:19:51 --> 00:19:56

looks really nice or house you see or a phone or some person. It's a

00:19:56 --> 00:19:59

man you see a woman and you suddenly become attracted

00:20:00 --> 00:20:02

To her, what are you being attracted to?

00:20:03 --> 00:20:07

It could be many things. It could be her beauty.

00:20:09 --> 00:20:13

Right? Somebody else may not be you may be like a cold beauty, he

00:20:13 --> 00:20:16

may be a warm beauty, there's different types of beauty. Right?

00:20:17 --> 00:20:20

You may be attracted to one thing, somebody may be attracted to

00:20:20 --> 00:20:23

another thing. It may be something even more

00:20:25 --> 00:20:26

Subhanallah I mean,

00:20:27 --> 00:20:30

maybe I should just say this could be maybe something so

00:20:30 --> 00:20:31

insignificant.

00:20:33 --> 00:20:36

Right, or something so shallow as the way

00:20:38 --> 00:20:38

they walk.

00:20:40 --> 00:20:44

Right? Literally, somebody may become attracted to the opposite,

00:20:45 --> 00:20:46

because of the way they walk.

00:20:47 --> 00:20:54

Because of the way certain body parts are emphasized or something

00:20:54 --> 00:20:57

like that. I mean, that this is a shallow as it gets. And I think

00:20:57 --> 00:21:01

that's it. That's why I want Why do you want that just for one

00:21:01 --> 00:21:03

point, that one point,

00:21:04 --> 00:21:07

I want to get married to this person because of this. Nobody

00:21:07 --> 00:21:11

else I've seen. Does it that way or wears clothes that way? Or

00:21:11 --> 00:21:14

dresses up that way? Or puts makeup on that way? Or

00:21:16 --> 00:21:18

has such a car or whatever.

00:21:19 --> 00:21:22

Now is marriage what is marriage about? Is that what marriage is

00:21:22 --> 00:21:27

about the way somebody walks? The way somebody dresses the way

00:21:27 --> 00:21:30

somebody looks? Is that what marriage is about you under for

00:21:30 --> 00:21:33

marriage? Right? So how can that be? Is that in harmony with

00:21:33 --> 00:21:37

marriage? No, not at all. Because marriage is not that you're going

00:21:37 --> 00:21:41

to just watch somebody walk, or watch the way they dress, or put

00:21:41 --> 00:21:44

them somewhere and just watch them all day. There's a number of other

00:21:44 --> 00:21:47

characteristics that are required in marriage. So you want to get a

00:21:47 --> 00:21:51

package. Okay, this one character is might be fine. But you need a

00:21:51 --> 00:21:53

number of characteristics.

00:21:54 --> 00:21:55

What you should give your heart to,

00:21:56 --> 00:21:59

what you should give you affection to your connection to your

00:21:59 --> 00:22:03

association to should be a package of characteristics.

00:22:04 --> 00:22:08

A collection of them not just one point. This is where people make

00:22:08 --> 00:22:13

the biggest mistake. This is the mechanics of love, you become

00:22:13 --> 00:22:16

attracted to one characteristic and you think that's it, that's

00:22:16 --> 00:22:21

all I need. You don't. In fact, they don't even know that the

00:22:21 --> 00:22:24

actual entity becomes cloaked in that one characteristic becomes

00:22:24 --> 00:22:27

just one characteristic. And you don't know, you just start feeling

00:22:27 --> 00:22:30

like that's what I need, you actually don't need that you need

00:22:30 --> 00:22:31

a lot more than that.

00:22:33 --> 00:22:34

Because everything else in there could be negative.

00:22:37 --> 00:22:40

And that is why they also say something similar, which is that

00:22:40 --> 00:22:44

if you become attracted to something, and it's unhealthy for

00:22:44 --> 00:22:48

you, because if you have, whether that's natural love that you have

00:22:48 --> 00:22:53

or you've acquired a love for something haram by bad addiction,

00:22:54 --> 00:22:58

an addiction of something bad that what essentially what a person has

00:22:58 --> 00:23:04

done in addiction is that they've focused focus so much on what they

00:23:04 --> 00:23:08

perceive a good characteristics of something, and they become

00:23:08 --> 00:23:11

infatuated with it. Now it's actually become a medical problem,

00:23:11 --> 00:23:14

a psychological problem, because it's an addiction, a psychological

00:23:14 --> 00:23:18

problem, you actually now hate that thing. But it's an addiction

00:23:18 --> 00:23:20

now, that gets really, really crazy.

00:23:22 --> 00:23:26

So the only way to disassociate from something now is to start

00:23:26 --> 00:23:28

focusing on the bad characteristics.

00:23:29 --> 00:23:32

Because it's the good characteristics unless it becomes

00:23:32 --> 00:23:35

an addiction that becomes more complicated. But an infatuation,

00:23:35 --> 00:23:40

not an addiction. And Infatuation is the way to help an infatuation

00:23:40 --> 00:23:44

is to now start focusing on the bad characteristics

00:23:46 --> 00:23:49

that will start to pull us away from that thing.

00:23:51 --> 00:23:52

Now if you put this whole thing

00:23:53 --> 00:23:56

Allah says in the Quran, that those who believe they are most

00:23:56 --> 00:23:58

intense in their love for Allah,

00:23:59 --> 00:24:03

why should they be most intense in their love for Allah? And why

00:24:03 --> 00:24:07

aren't we? Well, the reason is that we've not thought of the

00:24:07 --> 00:24:09

characteristics of Allah subhanaw taala.

00:24:11 --> 00:24:13

The only way we can become associated with Allah subhanho wa

00:24:13 --> 00:24:15

Taala is think about his characteristics. That's how you'll

00:24:15 --> 00:24:16

get to love Allah.

00:24:17 --> 00:24:22

Now, what's really interesting is that the only two things that are

00:24:22 --> 00:24:23

absolute good

00:24:24 --> 00:24:28

and have no bad whatsoever, and it's all good characteristics,

00:24:28 --> 00:24:32

just a whole collection of good characteristics and attributes is

00:24:32 --> 00:24:35

Allah and His Messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and everything

00:24:35 --> 00:24:38

associated to them. Everything else has good and bad.

00:24:41 --> 00:24:45

So there is no way that if we start learning about Allah,

00:24:45 --> 00:24:51

reviewing others ideas, how do you review? How would you read a

00:24:51 --> 00:24:56

review about Allah? You review Allah in the lives of the pious,

00:24:57 --> 00:24:59

their connection with Allah that's how

00:25:00 --> 00:25:01

That's how you understand it,

00:25:03 --> 00:25:07

then there's no way that that cannot attract us.

00:25:08 --> 00:25:12

There's no way that cannot attract us. It's just good quality, good

00:25:12 --> 00:25:17

quality, good quality. There are no bad qualities to dis associate

00:25:17 --> 00:25:19

us. That's the reason.

00:25:20 --> 00:25:25

The reason why we did not know about and we could not see

00:25:25 --> 00:25:29

anywhere, the first car, the second car that we were thinking

00:25:29 --> 00:25:31

about, is because

00:25:32 --> 00:25:34

we weren't focused on we had another car.

00:25:37 --> 00:25:41

So because we got something that is just our security in this

00:25:41 --> 00:25:46

world, our safety that we have our security, our sustenance that we

00:25:46 --> 00:25:49

have, Allah has given us so much that gives us this false

00:25:50 --> 00:25:53

attraction away from Allah subhanho wa taala.

00:25:56 --> 00:26:00

So we don't see what's essential from Allah subhanaw taala I mean,

00:26:00 --> 00:26:04

there's no doubt that anybody who gets closer to Allah subhanaw

00:26:04 --> 00:26:08

taala starts to know Him will love him. But the question is that how

00:26:08 --> 00:26:12

do you get to love him? Well, the way to get to love him is to learn

00:26:12 --> 00:26:17

more about him. I think the the most effective ways of getting to

00:26:17 --> 00:26:21

learn about Allah subhanaw taala is firstly through the Quran, the

00:26:21 --> 00:26:25

meaning of the Quran, we see Allah subhanaw taala in action in the

00:26:25 --> 00:26:28

Quran speaking to us, how he deals with different people

00:26:31 --> 00:26:32

what he's done for us,

00:26:33 --> 00:26:34

what we owe him

00:26:35 --> 00:26:39

all of his qualities than the names of Allah subhanaw taala

00:26:39 --> 00:26:43

found in the Quran. The second thing is to actually focus on the

00:26:43 --> 00:26:44

names

00:26:45 --> 00:26:46

of Allah subhanaw taala.

00:26:47 --> 00:26:51

So when you focus on the names of Allah subhanaw taala there's no

00:26:51 --> 00:26:53

way that that cannot attract us.

00:26:54 --> 00:26:57

When you're looking for mercy, you're talking about the man and

00:26:57 --> 00:26:58

you're Rahim

00:26:59 --> 00:27:00

if for example,

00:27:02 --> 00:27:06

you're you have a problem with somebody, and somebody is

00:27:06 --> 00:27:09

oppressing you. And you're in a situation where somebody is

00:27:09 --> 00:27:09

oppressing you.

00:27:11 --> 00:27:14

You call out to Allah subhanaw taala using the name Yeah, Gohar

00:27:15 --> 00:27:19

Oh, overwhelming one Oh, conqueror, oh, one with absolute

00:27:19 --> 00:27:24

might you call on to that name? Now imagine that you have a

00:27:24 --> 00:27:29

particular characteristic. Right? You have a particular

00:27:29 --> 00:27:32

characteristic, the quality that you're proud of?

00:27:34 --> 00:27:35

Somebody can call you by your name,

00:27:38 --> 00:27:38

say

00:27:41 --> 00:27:42

Maulana Badrul sub.

00:27:44 --> 00:27:48

Right? So you can call out his name. He'd be happy with that.

00:27:49 --> 00:27:53

But if you get to know one another, right, and you find out

00:27:53 --> 00:27:57

how generous he is. And you know, mashallah, how much concern he has

00:27:57 --> 00:28:01

and all of that. And you say, mashallah, he's, you know, this

00:28:01 --> 00:28:02

generous guy here.

00:28:05 --> 00:28:06

And does that make you feel good?

00:28:08 --> 00:28:11

I mean, somebody said Malabo, the rhinos, and it's generous guy, he

00:28:12 --> 00:28:14

has a different effect. Right?

00:28:15 --> 00:28:18

So I can call him a smile.

00:28:19 --> 00:28:21

And this is a really good organizer.

00:28:23 --> 00:28:25

It's a very good coordinator.

00:28:26 --> 00:28:27

Very hard working.

00:28:29 --> 00:28:30

Can you see the effect

00:28:31 --> 00:28:35

on that you're calling out with a characteristic with a quality

00:28:35 --> 00:28:38

qualities are very important to people. When you call out to

00:28:38 --> 00:28:44

Allah, they that means you see, I call out to smile. Like, it's my

00:28:44 --> 00:28:47

look, everybody can call out everybody knows his name. But if I

00:28:47 --> 00:28:50

call out to a quality, that means I know him better than others.

00:28:50 --> 00:28:51

Meaning I know him deeper.

00:28:54 --> 00:28:57

There's a deeper meaning there. And a deeper connection there.

00:28:58 --> 00:29:01

That's why the although the name Allah is greater than everything

00:29:01 --> 00:29:06

else is greatest name. But it's not the only name, meaning he is

00:29:06 --> 00:29:09

Allah. That's it. That's his main name, but then all of the

00:29:09 --> 00:29:12

qualities He wants us to know because that creates awareness.

00:29:13 --> 00:29:17

When we start to learn about Allah subhanaw taala, then we're doing

00:29:17 --> 00:29:18

exactly what He created us for.

00:29:20 --> 00:29:23

Allah created there's certain traditions which tell us that

00:29:23 --> 00:29:28

Allah subhanaw taala created humanity and this entire system,

00:29:28 --> 00:29:32

this whole world and everything so that he could be recognized.

00:29:33 --> 00:29:35

Otherwise, us being here does nothing else.

00:29:36 --> 00:29:40

Just recognition if you remember in the Health Series, the certain

00:29:40 --> 00:29:44

people who are in hellfire, they will call out to Allah. And Allah

00:29:44 --> 00:29:48

will actually lighten their burden or forgive them because he says,

00:29:48 --> 00:29:52

Well, you know me, while you know me that I'm very, I'm very

00:29:52 --> 00:29:54

forgiving. So he's gonna let them go.

00:29:57 --> 00:29:59

Because that's what you call Meriva, for

00:30:00 --> 00:30:04

Allah subhanaw taala Madiba and No, no knowing him, knowledge of

00:30:04 --> 00:30:09

him is one of the greatest things. It's one of the greatest assets

00:30:09 --> 00:30:12

that human beings can have. For example,

00:30:13 --> 00:30:14

you

00:30:16 --> 00:30:20

want expansion in something? Yeah. Was it? Yeah. Bursts it.

00:30:21 --> 00:30:23

You want something? Yeah. Why did

00:30:24 --> 00:30:27

this? There's so many names you can use. There's something very

00:30:27 --> 00:30:32

subtle. Yeah. Latif, your reserach if you want sustenance, if you're

00:30:32 --> 00:30:36

struggling with sustenance, your reserach you're calling out to

00:30:36 --> 00:30:39

Allah subhanho wa Taala you're worried about safety? Yeah. haffi

00:30:41 --> 00:30:46

Yeah, Salah. Yeah. Hatfield, yeah Salam, focusing on the name of

00:30:46 --> 00:30:49

Allah subhana Names of Allah subhanho wa Taala getting to know

00:30:49 --> 00:30:52

him and then applying them in different aspects of our life will

00:30:53 --> 00:30:57

start to make us connected to Allah. When you love something,

00:30:57 --> 00:30:58

you start talking more about it.

00:31:00 --> 00:31:00

Although

00:31:01 --> 00:31:06

we tried to do it the other way we try to impose on ourselves a

00:31:06 --> 00:31:10

regimen of vicar of remembrance of Allah subhanaw taala according

00:31:10 --> 00:31:13

somebody else's name I don't know if you call somebody else's named

00:31:13 --> 00:31:14

the whole day. I don't know if anything will happen. Will you

00:31:14 --> 00:31:15

start to love them?

00:31:16 --> 00:31:19

Probably will start getting tired of them. Like why would you even

00:31:19 --> 00:31:22

call out their name the whole day? Right? But with Allah subhanaw

00:31:22 --> 00:31:26

taala as names calling them out has actually an efficacy benefit.

00:31:27 --> 00:31:30

So that you just can't go wrong with Allah subhanho wa Taala

00:31:32 --> 00:31:35

I think this is one of the things that we miss, we may pray salatu,

00:31:35 --> 00:31:39

masha Allah, we may fast and everything, but the purpose all of

00:31:39 --> 00:31:42

that was to actually remember Allah and to get to know him

00:31:42 --> 00:31:46

better, to talk to Allah subhanho wa Taala through the prayer, what

00:31:46 --> 00:31:50

he inspires us to do rather, likewise to fast for the sake of

00:31:50 --> 00:31:53

Allah subhanaw taala to then see what he opens up for us in our

00:31:53 --> 00:31:54

lives,

00:31:55 --> 00:31:59

to go for Hajj, and go around the house of Allah subhanaw taala

00:32:00 --> 00:32:04

and to get to understand, and then Allah gives us many, many

00:32:04 --> 00:32:05

blessings.

00:32:07 --> 00:32:08

So

00:32:09 --> 00:32:12

let us make it that we can do that Amara, the Allahu anhu, once came

00:32:12 --> 00:32:16

to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and he said, I love you

00:32:16 --> 00:32:17

more than

00:32:18 --> 00:32:19

everything in this world.

00:32:21 --> 00:32:22

All my family,

00:32:24 --> 00:32:27

possessions, everything, except myself.

00:32:29 --> 00:32:33

Just was very honest about he said, I just love myself more than

00:32:33 --> 00:32:36

more than otherwise, everything else. I love you more.

00:32:38 --> 00:32:41

And definitely, so humans love themselves more. You're never

00:32:41 --> 00:32:45

going to say I love myself. But we do everything that we do for

00:32:45 --> 00:32:47

ourselves. When people are arrogant. They do it for

00:32:47 --> 00:32:50

themselves, when they're blinded of their own defects, and they see

00:32:50 --> 00:32:54

defects in others is because they love themselves. When they justify

00:32:54 --> 00:32:57

and they get defensive. No, no, I didn't do that. I'm not like that,

00:32:57 --> 00:33:00

even though they are right. And everybody can say that. And I'm

00:33:00 --> 00:33:04

not like that. I'm not like that. Is because we love ourselves. When

00:33:04 --> 00:33:08

you love something, you will defend it. Right? And a blind you

00:33:08 --> 00:33:10

So We blinded from our own defects.

00:33:11 --> 00:33:16

She said, Look, that's where it is. Rosa said, No, you're not a

00:33:16 --> 00:33:20

complete believer yet. Because complete belief requires more love

00:33:20 --> 00:33:22

for Allah and His Messenger than everything else. So he said to

00:33:22 --> 00:33:25

him, What are they? You're not a complete believer here. Perfect.

00:33:27 --> 00:33:31

He's a believer, but not perfect. You know, the what? The ascendancy

00:33:31 --> 00:33:34

in that. So I'm gonna be alone. After a short while he says, he

00:33:34 --> 00:33:41

says, now jasola I actually love you more than even my own self. So

00:33:41 --> 00:33:44

the province that also said, now Oh, my God reached perfection,

00:33:44 --> 00:33:47

completeness. So it's a religious requirement.

00:33:48 --> 00:33:51

And Allah and His messenger are such that the more you know about

00:33:51 --> 00:33:55

them, the more you read the Sierra the Quran, and Ciara, the more you

00:33:55 --> 00:33:58

can just love Allah and His Messenger, there's no way you can

00:33:58 --> 00:34:01

escape it. There's other people who fall in love with Allah, not

00:34:01 --> 00:34:05

by seeing other Muslims but by reading the Quran by reading the

00:34:05 --> 00:34:08

life of the Prophet salAllahu alayhi wasallam non Muslims who

00:34:08 --> 00:34:11

then eventually become Muslim like that. So

00:34:12 --> 00:34:15

all we can do is to ask Allah to facilitate this path for us and

00:34:15 --> 00:34:19

make it easy for us so that we don't, we're not veiled from him.

00:34:20 --> 00:34:23

We're not veiled from him by being infatuated with other things in

00:34:23 --> 00:34:28

this world. So that we don't see the effects of Allah that signs of

00:34:28 --> 00:34:30

Allah that Names of Allah everywhere.

00:34:32 --> 00:34:34

May Allah give us that tool for youth worker with that one annual

00:34:34 --> 00:34:38

exoneration in this world and especially in the hereafter from

00:37:44 --> 00:37:49

hellfire, and especially from the demands of others. Our Allah do

00:37:49 --> 00:37:53

not allow us to oppress others and allow us to find forgiveness for

00:37:53 --> 00:37:57

00:38:24 --> 00:38:28

bless all of those who are here today and who are listening, who

00:38:28 --> 00:38:33

Allah bless the entire world, who Allah bless the entire world with

00:38:33 --> 00:38:35

closeness to you, oh Allah.

00:38:36 --> 00:38:39

We ask that you send your abundant blessings on our messenger

00:38:39 --> 00:38:42

Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa salam, and that you bless us in

00:38:42 --> 00:38:47

what you have given us and do not allow us to use whatever you have

00:38:47 --> 00:38:50

given us to use it in your disobedience, our love but rather

00:38:50 --> 00:38:53

allow us to use it in your obedience and allow us to be of

00:38:53 --> 00:38:58

service to your faith and service to others. So Subhanallah because

00:38:58 --> 00:39:01

mobilizer can now see for those that don't want to sit in

00:39:03 --> 00:39:07

the point of a lecture is to encourage people to act to get

00:39:07 --> 00:39:12

further an inspiration, and encouragement, persuasion. The

00:39:12 --> 00:39:16

next step is to actually start learning seriously, to read books

00:39:16 --> 00:39:19

to take on a subject of Islam and to understand all the subjects of

00:39:19 --> 00:39:23

Islam at least at the basic level, so that we can become more aware

00:39:23 --> 00:39:27

of what our deen wants from us. And that's why we started Rayyan

00:39:27 --> 00:39:33

courses so that you can actually take organize lectures on demand

00:39:33 --> 00:39:35

whenever you have free time, especially for example, the

00:39:35 --> 00:39:39

Islamic essentials course that we have on the Islamic essentials

00:39:39 --> 00:39:44

certificate which you take 20 Short modules and at the end of

00:39:44 --> 00:39:49

that inshallah you will have gotten the basics of most of the

00:39:49 --> 00:39:52

most important topics in Islam and you'll feel a lot more confident.

00:39:52 --> 00:39:55

You don't have to leave lectures behind you can continue to live,

00:39:55 --> 00:39:58

you know to listen to lectures, but you need to have this more

00:39:58 --> 00:40:00

sustained study as well as

00:40:00 --> 00:40:02
