Masha Allah, Allah bless you all for taking part in this and for
coming online at this time, mashallah, we've worked on some
some Academy for a very long time. I just want to start off by
mentioning that some some Academy started. over 15 years ago when I
was in America, I used to be in a town called Santa Barbara,
California. And there were some brothers, some families that were
in Los Angeles, we didn't have such a big population of Muslims
in Santa Barbara itself. But there were a number of Muslims that used
to come up from Southern Los Angeles to come and study some
various different texts, and books, some Fick and other things.
So they used to come on a Sunday,
I think, every week, every few weeks, and they decided that
what we should do is, maybe we should record.
Maybe we should record the lectures, and then maybe we should
put them online. We sat down, and we decided that what should we
call it? Because when you have a website, you need to call it
something. And for some reason, can't remember what the
inspiration was, but I guess zum zum being a source of goodness, a
source of virtue, a source of blessing, we decided to call it
zum zum Academy, right. And many, you know, several times over the
last 1015 years, we we've even thought about maybe changing the
name, but we just couldn't think of anything better. So zum zum has
stuck and mashallah the brothers at that time, if I take their name
is Brother Val Ha, it was used to have as her marine and what seemed
few other brothers. So mashallah, it was the we came up with the
name, they registered the name, and then we developed a website
and everything was just audio at that time, there wasn't much video
at that time, it was mostly audio. So that's how Samsung began.
That's how, that's how Samsung began and
thereafter
I came to England and slowly slowly, you know, there were other
lectures that came up and everything and then mashallah
Ismail, who's with us today, he started to help with everything
and
mashallah then he actually learnt to
take videos with a camera and good audio for first it was a good
audio we might one of my cousin's mashallah he donated a really good
audio recorder for us. It was, you know, really with a lot of clarity
so that's what we used in the beginning. And then after that
Marshall like smile, got into the whole video aspect of it. And
slowly slowly, we began to populate the website and
Alhamdulillah now we have I think, between seven to 800 lectures
online of different sizes and you know, different durations. So now
the website was several years old mashallah we've worked on the site
for several years and it needed an update so mashallah one of the
brothers from Australia from a community that I visited for
ethical for the last two years for two years in Perth mashallah he
decided brothers summit he decided that he would like to volunteer
and you know, without even letting us know he first developed an
entire parallel websites with a whole new look and whole new
system on it and everything which you are, which you're seeing
today, right what you're seeing online right now. And then he
asked us to look I've done this for myself and my own circle of
friends just to make it easier to navigate because our old one our
early on, wasn't as easy to navigate through. So we like what
he did. We had a proposal from mashallah another good brother for
that as well.
But Rutherford was also busy with some of our other projects. So
that's why we went with Sammy rice project. And mashallah, now here
it is. So we've got it now here, Mashallah. And, you know, when
anything's got so many, so many, so much content, seven to 800
videos, and then there's audio, then there's articles and there's
several other things on there. That's why, you know, the
challenge then is to be able to navigate it to make it easy to
navigate.
it. So what we've tried to do here is that the previous website,
everything was subject and topic based. So that's why for some
people, it was difficult to find an entire series. So this one will
handle I've managed to combine between both of these aspects,
both subject and topic based aspects. And also all the series,
because I think that's a prominent feature of this website, lot of
people come here to listen to a free course and take a free course
without any charge. And that's what we've managed to present all
of them together as well. So I'm just going to take you through a
quick
just a quick overview of the website, just how to basically
navigate it. And to be honest, some of you, I'm assuming, I don't
get to come on to the website too often. Because, I mean, we we do
the work, the research, deliver the talk, it's recorded, and then
it goes online, I hardly get to come here. So I'm actually
assuming even that some of you may already know this website much
better than me, at least me maybe not a smile, but you know, at
least me because you guys may have had a lot of time to look at it. I
haven't I mean, this website has been up for at least two months or
so, anyway, and we've delayed the launch a bit. So anyway, I'm just
gonna go through a few different things here. Mashallah, and then
I'm gonna you know, if any of you have any questions on on YouTube,
you know, you can, you can put it in the comment or more, so if
you've got any suggestions, we'd love to hear them. And you don't
have to just mention them. Now, you can actually mention them even
later, you can email us and we'll give you Inshallah, we'll put up

this zum zum Academy is a feasibility project, right? We do
not make any monetary gain from that. We don't take a salary from
zum zum Academy, it's all there Insha Allah, we ask Allah to
accept it. So anyway, to start off, I just, you know, again, just

you know, various different countries and hamdulillah that's
the beauty of this website. You know, from the beginning, we've
had people you know, from Australia, Kazakhstan, and all
over the world, you know, more so. And that's the beauty of the
modern world just just to do that. hamdulillah So, quick walkthrough,
I guess this is the front page and just clean outlook there. We do.
There will be white thread Institute will be mentioned
shortly here as well because some some Academy is going to be
underweight thread Institute as the overarching idea. white thread
Institute is a postgraduate institute some some academies more
just for generally anybody and everybody. So firstly, you can see
this is the several ways to navigate, right, we try to make it
easy, so you can get to somewhere in the least possible cliques. And
at the end of the day, there is a search bar here that you know, you
can get to maybe if we just do a search for the how we write the
how we let's just say, and that will obviously take us to the

so there you go that directly I mean, if I talk about marriage,
which is another very important topic nowadays or in I think it's
probably there you go practical steps for a healthy marriage
series. So whenever something's a series is going to have series
mentioned in there, which means that there's going to be more than
one video in the right, there's going to be more than one talk in
that. So if I if I click on that as a series, then it gives you the
whole list. So these are this is the holy so we've got marriage

website is that, you know, if you want to avoid, you can say up
here, play all videos, then when you actually get into the video,
you can actually
there's several things that you can do, you can obviously do watch
later here, you can click on that. You can share it, watch later, you
can share, you can obviously give it the likes as well. And the
benefit of this is that whenever you play something here like if I
play this question, some questions about marriage, you avoid any
although it's it's
being played here, you're avoiding any kind of advertisement. Whereas
if you went to our YouTube channel, and you did it from
there, which you could,
that, you know, you'd have to deal with adverts and things like that.
So that's why the benefit of this directly is that you don't have to
worry about adverts or anything you can actually save for
yourself. So if I was to add this,
where's it gone? If I was to add this to watch later, right, that
gets added, and then I can get access. I can get access to that
later when I want to watch her in so if I go back to the homepage,
so anyway, that's the way to look through the so you can go into

you know, what is a whole lot and is procedure, can you pray be done

But why I really want to show you the series today. So if you look
at series, you've got the various so if I click on series, short
series and long series, essentially short series and long
series, I think short series are those which are 10 or less

there's a lot of stuff in here and mashallah, you know,
may Allah subhanaw taala accepted. What I want to mention is that,
you know, there's a lot of stuff here to go through. But you can
either if you go back to the homepage, you can either go
through these
menus here, or if you just just scroll down on the main page,
you've got the popular ones at the top, there's there's always two
lines of each category, spirituality. And you can even
move through and navigate using these buttons here, history, or
most of these categories actually mentioned on the first page itself
as well. So you don't have to use the menus you can actually go
through but I think the menu is probably just a bit easier
thereafter that
if you've got somebody who's new to Islam and you're interested in
you know, you you're interested in them,
maybe getting something relevant to them. There's
talks on that subject.
There's the Quran. Well, let's just take a look at this one in
the Quran series. You've got the Tafseer of the whole Quran in 30
hours.
All right, so that was something that Hamdulillah that proved to be
very popular May Allah accept it took place this last Ramadan, the
entire Quran at about an hour or just over for each Jews so that
all 30 of those are here and mashallah numerous people are
covering these. So, you know, that's 30 lectures there on that,
then after that if you want more in depth, I've seen Quran Tafseer
of certain students, we don't have the whole Quran in depth, right?
We have I mean, the 30 hours but not in that you'll find that in
Quran of CNN, the sciences of the Quran, where you got different
sciences related to Quran and the virtues of the Quran. So that's
just to give you an idea. So a good place to start would be for
example, the Tafseer of the whole Quran in 30 hours, right? That
would be really useful. If you if you want to do thereafter if you
want to get if you're if you are married, you want to improve your
marriage or whatever, you know, there's a whole section on
marriage that you know that I showed you earlier thereafter that
there's the Aveda Akita Howie lectures which are recorded a long
time ago but mashallah people still come and listen to them. You
can find all of those under the audio. So when you look under
Audio, you've got all of these which are just purely in audio
because that time we weren't recording so kita boo boo, the
book of business, that Cassie the Buddha, now that's got the Casita,
Buddha itself. I mean, that was covered in how many lectures was
that covered in I mean, who this is 39 I think it's 39 lectures on
the casita with an amazing poem. And then there's a book of solids
and the Akita Javier is here, the 30 Quran audio, so many of our
series are both in audio and in video. So if you want to just
download you can go go to the top and you can go to SoundCloud,
right you know, you got you got the Facebook and everything and go
to SoundCloud and just download it from there for your own, you know,
for your own system. So you can listen to it while driving and so
on.
A really important topic is dealing with non Muslim and
Islamophobic issues. So we've got the whole issue about God and
science and those series. So if you look at under a series, you
will find that here.
And
Islam and evolution is one of those then you've got
what else have you got here?
So yeah, I think I think you're getting the idea. And I think the
final thing I'm going to say before I open it up if you have
any questions is
a lot of people mashallah you know, especially after Ramadan,
and so on, a lot of people wanted to donate. And as zamzam Academy
is part of a bigger, as I'm saying, Academy is actually part
of a bigger project, which is the white thread project, the white
thread Institute's and, you know, we really appreciate and really
touched by the fact that you would like to donate to us today is not
a fundraiser at all right, but people want to donate, so we
thought rather than refusing people's donation, you know, we'd
let them take part in the southern Nigeria. And I think the better
sadaqa jariya would be by donating to through some some Academy to
white thread Institute because what white thread Institute does
is that it actually provides training for Allah MA and Artemis
and they are the people who are actually going to be working for
the communities and if we can help to enhance them, and your
contribution takes, you know, and goes into that and contributes to
that, then inshallah you get the sadaqa jariya as well. So, you
know, your donation is definitely welcome through that. And having
said that, I just want to say please pray for us, all of us here
everybody who contributes systems and Academy and much of the
several people who are contributing and I just want you
to pray that Allah subhanaw taala accept it from from us all. And
mashallah, you know, without the volunteers that we have, this
would never have been the way it is. I mean, today Alhamdulillah
zum zum Academy is a very, very, you know, enhanced website with a
huge amount of content. And the only way that takes place is by
the will of Allah subhanaw taala and with our volunteers, and
please spread the word, right, please spread the word. Please
spread the word to others about the various videos like the videos
and push them out to others. And yeah, so I'm gonna I'm gonna stop

So, I think there should be a forum page page where Muslims can
collaborate like West London, Islamic school can Forum is a
whole different idea. And
I'm not sure if we can actually because there are other forums
online forum requires a lot of efforts a lot of moderation and
things like that.
ways things can get abusive and out of hand. So I'm not sure if
we're ready for that. But we'll keep that in mind anyway, courses
for non Muslims, there are actually several talks as well.
Can you send me a link for talks on none for non Muslims? Because
we've done a number of talks, different places Oxford University
and others, which were for non Muslims. So there's quite a few on
them. But I think maybe what we'll do is find you can take notes on
this that maybe what we'll do is we will have a whole dedicated
series and do some really proper videos on really just basic
aspects. We'll get somebody do that insha Allah that's a very
good idea. And Lord Newsom is entering some through
organizations like EF Dawa. They spend so much time in limbo not
choosing a Muslim and often get lured into Yes, okay. So yes,
Inshallah, that's a very good idea could essentially be made for any
of the of your forthcoming events by uploading the event posts. I
understand. Yeah, that's, that is something I mean, do we have a
smile? Do we have anything on events? You wish you'd have a page
there was an events list? No, no, I went back and put it back. Okay,
so we need to revisit that because a lot of people wonder where our
programs are that's true. Because otherwise they have to go to
Twitter or something so that's a good idea. What else is there
is it possible for all Mr. From the UK consider a nationwide
marriage service they do it for potential spouses.
