my dear beloved brothers, sisters dear friends.
It's wonderful to be here Allah subhanho wa Taala has despite the
forecast of the rain Allah subhanaw taala in sha Allah has
planned otherwise. And as the Prophet sallallahu Sallam used to
make dua Allahumma Hauer Lena, when Elena that dua was Oh ALLAH
around us, but not above us. So we need the rain because rain is what
provides us with the fertility, that Allah subhanaw taala is mercy
as well. Rain is a Mercy of Allah.
But we just don't want it upon us right now. So the Prophet
salallahu Salam, it was a Juma and it had rained a lot because there
was a drought before somebody had come in us. The Prophet sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam that we would it's becoming difficult there's no
rain, so the rice also made a DUA and the sky is just started
showering down. And then they came and they said, it's too much. So
then the prophets Allah submitted Okay, Allah around us upon the
mountaintops and the hilltops and other places, not upon us. So may
Allah subhanaw taala keep this case.
There's several things I want to discuss today. In short, briefly,
for our eat prayer.
Allah subhana wa Tada this is a special day after the 30 days of
fasting hamdulillah Allah combined, everybody's eat
together. That's another blessing I think that we have in that we've
had this year in the UK that mashallah we're all here
regardless of whenever you started Ramadan eid mubarak to everybody
at Hamdulillah.
It's related. In the Hadith regarding the day of Eid.
Regarding the day of Eid, it's considered another name for the
day of Eid is yo Wiltjer is
yo moja is Jaya is a means award gift.
Ree compensation or compensation rather. So this is the day of
compensation. So there's a hadith in which it says that the fasting
people on the Day of Judgment
they return after having prayed in their masala in this place. They
return home being forgiven by Allah subhanaw taala what happens
is that according to Abdullah Ibis study alone is reported the Hadith
from the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, when it is the day of
fitter, the evil fitter when it's the day of evil fatal.
That angels they descend to the various streets, the various
roads, the various thoroughfares and parks, they stand at the
entrance of each street, that the end of each at the entrance of
each road and they announce but in a sound in a voice that
unfortunately humans cannot hear. Otherwise, that would be something
very special.
Everybody hears it, everybody that Allah subhanaw taala has created
except the humans and the jinn hear it just like many things,
it's on another wavelength. We cannot tap into that wavelength
but animals others they hear it
so now when people this is the announcement they make at the edge
of every street they make an announcement yeah on matter
Mohamed Omar Mohamed Salah Allahu Allah alayhi wa salam. O Corojo
Allah Robin Karim, you're up till Jerseyville
come out and exit. Come out to a Lord who is benevolent. Benevolent
Karim means generous, benevolent, open hearted, willing to give
benevolence is Allah subhanaw taala as characteristic. So come
out to a Lord who is benevolent and who gives in abundance who
gets
is not only in abundance but who gives in huge amounts abundantly
and in enormous amounts.
And we offer a dumbbell of Him and who also forgives huge sins.
So now when people come out to their place of prayer for the
eighth prayer, Allah subhanho wa Taala says to His angels, yeah,
Mala Ekati, my angels Magisto a G either Angela, Angela. So at the
end of the month, people have done very well in the business in the
work they employees, let's give them a bonus. What should I give
them what should be the read the province of the Allah subhanaw
taala says, what should be the compensation for the person who's
supposed to be doing the work when they've done the work. So they say
Illa Hannah was a ye dinner, our Lord, our Master, and to our fear
who agile, you should give them their full reward you should give
them their full payment and compensation. So they say you
should give him that full reward. So Allah subhanaw taala says,
Okay, I make you witness that Allah subhanaw taala is making the
angels a witness that I have made their reward, their payment, their
reward for their fasting, their standing in the nights in prayer,
my satisfaction, and my forgiveness in sha Allah that is
happening right now. The reason why personally I mean looking at
this hadith
if there are angels standing that we've not heard them but for some
reason we get more people who come out on this day so maybe
subliminally we're hearing these calls from the angels to come out.
And that's why mashallah we have more people come out in abundance
on this day, Allah, Allah, this is just my interpretation of this.
There's a reason we both come out here, even though there was a
forecast for rain, sha Allah. So then Allah says that the end in
Saudi, Phu, McFaul and Lacan, now you can go back home, you can turn
away from here, all been forgiven. That's why this is a very special
moment. We come here for the prayer, it's just not not just the
festivity it's actually the place we come according to these
narrations for the sake of gaining our reward from Allah for this
fasting month, the fasting, the standing and the solder cart and
the prayers and everything else that we've done during this month
inshallah. So may Allah give us the full reward for this despite
our shortcomings. And you know, if somebody didn't do enough in
Ramadan, meaning if somebody didn't do anything in Ramadan,
they wasted the time when they boosted their time, I can
understand that. But those who have tried most people will try
something or the other. There's no point of lamenting now there's not
another 30 days, right? So all we can do now is to thank Allah for
whatever he has given us the ability to do and just ask him to
accept it fully, despite our shortcomings, and despite our
defects and our transgressions or whatever else they may be, because
Allah subhanaw taala has mercy is great. Allah subhanaw taala says,
lots of scholars, you know, you may have had this question as to
you have heard this question being us. What is your favorite verse of
the Quran? Now, what's your favorite Hadith, right? I don't
know if you guys have won, or famous, you know, some people will
have you if you've read the Quran. There's just one verse that
mashallah just always inspires you more than others, you go back to
it each time you read it, and it just works for you.
So now these Quranic scholars, the scholars of the Quran, there's a
question that was posed has been posed to them.
The questions are more a bit more sophisticated is it which verse in
the Quran is the most frightening verse for you? What frightens you
the most?
The Prophet sallallahu some himself, he said, there's one
verse, which is
first stuck in come out of it.
remain steadfast, as you have been commanded to. That has been the
that was very severe for the Prophet salallahu Salam, because
to remain steadfast as Allah has commanded. That's very, very
difficult indeed for the old man at least. However, the one I want
to share with you today is they were asked
which verse gives you the greatest hope in the Quran? Which verse
gives is the most hope filled verse in the Quran? Subhan Allah,
that verse.
I'm going to save until the end just before we start. So inshallah
what's happening today is that this is a day everybody's happy
that the 30 days. Masha Allah Allah Allah subhanho wa Taala gave
us this grace allowed us to pass through them Subhan Allah the
the bottle of virus because the virus is of the world can all be
contained in a single
small bottle. That is Allah subhanaw. Taala is ability to
bring the world to its knees. Initially, the rhetoric from the
various leaders of the world was, we're going to beat this virus,
we're going to beat it, we're going to do it together, it's
going to be over, we're going to overcome it. That was the
rhetoric.
There is no longer that rhetoric anymore. It's been a year. And it
doesn't show too much sign of fully abating yet. If it has in
one place, maybe not another place.
Allah subhanaw Now, it's very humble. Now, voices statements,
have become humbled now.
And
subhanAllah I wish we can all learn a lesson, at least the
believers need to learn a lesson from it. We ask Allah subhanho wa
Taala to finally remove this allow us to come out of it better than
when we entered having learned something, having become closer to
Allah, we can at least make that dua for ourselves to do that.
Because with a believer, they make efforts, but on the side, they
have to complement it with
the dua to Allah subhanaw taala. At the end of the day, you're
coming here, my coming here, our raising our hands to even ask
Allah is from Allah Himself. If Allah had not willed, We would not
have been here we would not be praying, we would not have even
raised our hands to even ask Allah. That's why some of the
scholars have said, if you can, if you raise your hands and you're
asking Allah, then know that he wants to give you something
because otherwise you would not have even raised your hand so
Allah subhana wa Tada. So we need to consider Allah in every one of
our deeds. That's when we become connected to Allah. Allah subhanaw
taala says in the Quran, well Lavina Ermelo Asha have been nila,
the people who believe they are the most ardent in their love for
Allah subhanaw taala more than anything else, they love Allah.
That's a concept that if we've never considered the I need to
love Allah more than anything else. If that's not something
we've considered, we definitely need to start considering that if
that's what Allah wants from us. That's how he describes the true
believers. The true believers are those who most ardently love Allah
more than anything else. We ask Allah to make him the greatest
objective of our love, more than anybody more than anything else.
Loving Allah subhanho wa Taala does not mean that we give up on
our love for our children, or our families, or our friends. But our
love for them is due to our love for Allah because he wants us to
love others as well. But just our highest love, our greatest love,
most ardent love, most intense love needs to be for him. And what
those who have experienced the love of Allah say is that once you
start loving Allah you will love for others become even more pure.
So you don't lose out in the love of others. So never think that our
love for Allah is going to shield us from good love of others. Yes,
they will shield us from loving the wrong people from loving the
wrong things. And that's a beautiful thing. That's what we
struggled with all the time.
Now, despite the fact that it's our happy day, people are Masha
Allah Subhan Allah, how much we have Allah to think Allahu Akbar,
how much we have Allah to think.
There are people in Palestine and other places, who on this day have
no security, there are bombs falling around them. We are
sitting here with no care in the world, we've left our homes, we
feel a sense of security that they are not in protected. We are
sitting here with the clothing that we want to put on. We are
sitting here and we know that we're going to have the meals that
we prefer today. There's no kind of struggle hamdulillah our health
care system is amazing. I mean, what else does a person want in
their life? There's a beautiful Hadith which always
grounds me whenever I read it, it just creates for me a balance the
promise of a Larson said whoever wakes up in the morning and
they've got their day's sustenance their day's meal their days needs
and they've got security and they've got health then they've
got the entire world because what else do we need? Once we I've got
my daily bread, my daily meal, and mashallah we have whatever daily
meal we want. You know, the the most recent fad has been milk
cakes, right? You can order whatever you want. We've got the
UberEATS and everything as you want. If it's not clickable at
home, we'll order it even if it's cook or let's order it. We have
whatever we want. We've got security, we've got to help see
system. When I think about our brothers in India, brothers and
sisters in India, they're dying outside hospitals on streets,
because there's no oxygen. Because there's no space. There's one
person I heard, I heard about wealthy man, he's got all the
money. But there was no hospital space to take him in. Even though
he's willing to pay an arm and a leg for it, there was no hospital
to take him in, and he's passed away. Hamdulillah we don't have
that even the worst case scenario, yes, we had issues where we were
unable to visit our loved ones and many people lost loved ones
without touching them without hugging them, without speaking to
them directly, and our heart goes out to those people.
Unfortunately, our happiness today, which is supposed to be a
day of happiness is overshadowed with the plight of our Palestinian
brothers and our other brothers sisters around the world, may
Allah relieve them remove that problem from them. What I would
like to say is that hamdulillah the Muslim community in the UK has
a number of responsibilities us in the West have a number of
responsibilities.
Many people have given 1000 pound in zakat in Ramadan, that means
they have assets have at least 40,000.
They have assets of at least 40,000 If you're getting 1000
pounds that
you cannot develop a community just through the gut. The gut is
just for the maintenance of the poor is to take from the wealthy,
and to give to the poor Owens, just in Hackney and a few boroughs
surrounding Hackney in the last seven years. Now I'll fund which
we run as a local circuit for local people, we've spent half a
million pounds collected half a million pounds in Zakat, and given
just locally, that's to give you an idea that there are poor people
in London itself, write lots of lots of poor people.
Now, that's just for maintenance, that's just to allow people to
survive, literally, that's the cut for you is to allow people to
survive. It's the dirt of the wealth of the people according to
a hadith in Sahih. Muslim that and we give that and it's used Allah
subhanaw taala has a function for it, we need to do more
communities.
People cannot develop until they have money for development. You
can't do that. You can't use the card for that kind of development,
contribution for further research, for sending our best to for into
further research programs. And developing institutions develop
developing national libraries, national organizations to assist
in the other aspects of Muslim community life. If we want this
Islam to remain in our progeny, meaning in our descendants, right
in our descendants, then we're going to have to spend on
development. I would think that if you spent 1000 on Zakat, and
you've got a 40,000 assets, at least people are more than that,
mashallah, the Muslim community is doing much better now, as compared
to 40 years ago and 50 years ago, when they were it was a survival
mode hamdulillah May Allah be thanked for this, can we not also
give at least 1000 pounds each to a lot to an organization that is
working on either some kind of major development for the Muslim
community in the West, right, give to the you know, give to poor
countries as well. But this is where our survivalists we need to
get here for creating scholars for creating experts in the next
generation for other institutions. I mean, there's not enough time to
list all of them. So that's something to really really think
about it is our responsibility for our next generations to do this.
We need to start thinking about them right now.
Mashallah, there are many people I start I've lived in for three
continents of the world or for for extended periods of time. I've
seen in South Africa, Russia, the Muslim community there has been
put there for over 100 years. And mashallah, they're doing well many
of them are doing well. And what some of them have done is to take
out of their multiple businesses, one business dedicated, feasibly,
all the proceeds from this business is going to go
feasibility law. Now, we may not be at that position some people
may be but these are things that we need to think about. And Allah
only gives more because Allah says whoever gives to Allah may Ukri
doula Cordell Hassan, Allah calls it a loan when you give him when
when you when you spend in the path of Allah Allah actually calls
it a loan. And he says he will give you multiple several 100 fold
and this has been the experience of people.
So
the other thing that I want to mention is that Ramadan is
finished the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said,
Man, Sama Ramadan, some better who sit them in shall world. Whoever
first the month of Ramadan then follows it up with another six
faster show. While many of us know about that already, then it is as
if he's fasted the entire year, or fasted the entire life, but
firstly the entire year.
makes sense, every bead we do is multiply 10 times so the month,
the one fast is equal to 10. Fast 30 times 10 is 300 300. Now you
keep the six additional fast of Chawan. And that's 60. So that's
the whole year. It is as if you fasted the whole year he fast. One
of the spiritual benefits that I find in the six foster Chawan is
that in Ramadan, Allah has the doors on hellfire, close the doors
of Paradise open the shayateen, the devil is locked up. So that's
why we felt a bit closer and find it easier to worship. On this day
the shaytan has been released is the experience of many people that
after 30 days of mashallah person being very cautious and careful
shaytan comes out in a vengeance, that I've wasted 30 days I've not
been able to take people on for 30 days, he will try to spoil our
Ramadan achievements within a day or two. And a lot of people have
said this as an experience, I was so careful for 30 days, and in the
evening of eight, I messed up again.
That's why experience shows that if you can, if we can stay strong
for another seven to 10 days after eat while the shaytaan is out,
then generally you can actually develop much more immunity for the
rest of the year. So that's why I would suggest that if we can, we
should fast the six days of Chawan they can be started from tomorrow,
they can be kept together they can be kept separately. A lot of
people have said since you're in the mode, it's easy just to keep
all six together in one go. And that way the shaytan is out but
we're still in that fasting mode psychologically. We feel we sit in
Ramadan and it will inshallah benefit us and effect us in sha
Allah. Now finally to end up we're going to start the prayer.
The verse in the Quran, which is the most hope filled verse,
according to many scholars is called Eva the levena Ashraful
fusi him, top earner to me rock metal in Allah Ohio fueled by
Jamie
say O Muhammad Sallallahu Sallam that my servants, mice, servants
who have transgressed against themselves, but my servants who
have transgressed against themselves
don't become hopefully hopeless, in Allah's mercy.
Don't become despondent about Allah's mercy for Allah forgives
everything, all sins.
What's interesting here is Allah calls us as transgressors. Still
his servants, I don't know if the fathers can relate to this, and
the mothers can relate to this. Sometimes the children have been
naughty. And the father comes home from work. Generally, the children
are my children, my children, my children. But today, they've been
messing around. Then the father comes home and the My mother is
saying, Your child did this, and your son did this and your does
this, suddenly, even a mother who has the greatest love for the
child doesn't want to call that child, hers. For that moment, she
will become that child will become hers again very soon, but for that
moment, it's as long as your child right, as though we made a mess
around. Right? So
Allah subhanaw taala doesn't do that. Allah loves it when somebody
returns to Him. Allah absolutely loves it. And he's saying My
servants who have transgressed, you messed around you've done
wrong, but you're my servants. Don't be come back to me. When
somebody does us wrong. We find it so difficult sometimes to forgive,
to forgive them. And even if you forget, forgive them, we find it
difficult in our heart. Sometimes it says it's gonna take us a
while, the heart becomes solid, with Allah subhanaw taala any
sincere repentance, and he's willing to change our life and
give us today is that day, the final part of that hadith said,
for the people who come for the prayer, I've given you your
reward. Your reward is my satisfaction. Your reward is my
forgiveness. Now you can go home and you can be forgiven. So while
we're here, during the prayer after the prayer, make a dua to
Allah subhanaw taala that Allah accept everything from us and
purify us any remaining wrongs, any remaining blackness in our
hearts, Allah purify it, so that we can start with a new resolution
after Ramadan which is the best time for resolution just like
allow him and mashallah, as he said, your donations today 25% is
going to go towards our brothers and sisters in Palestine. So
inshallah we can start contributing to that as well.
We're here with Dhawan and Al hamdu Lillahi Rabbil Alameen.
And I'm doing two rockets of prayer with the six extra tech
bills for this prayer, and the Imam will begin say Allahu Akbar.
And then you read your SONNET Subhana Allah Moby Hambrick, says
no, and then the Imam will say Allahu Akbar thrice raising their
hands, and then you let them go in the first two instances. And in
the third instance you raise your hands and then you'll, you'll tie
them the Imam will continue to read the Surah Fatiha and the
surah and proceed as normal in the second record in stand up, and
again start off with Quran recitation so little Fatiha plus
the surah and then before God this is the time you have to this is
where most people make mistake many people make mistakes is
before you go into record the three extra that we use are here
again so again Allahu Akbar thrice raising the hands and letting them
go. And then at the fourth instance, you
were going to record and we complete and then after that,
there are two short hot was too short sermons in Arabic which are
also part of the prayer service. So they will be conducted
inshallah and they will also be a dua Inshallah, after the prayer,
so we will inshallah proceed with that
