00:00:07 --> 00:00:13

Yaga Jalla Jalla who are in Manoa Allah wa salatu salam ala so you

00:00:13 --> 00:00:17

will have evil Mustafa SallAllahu Taala are they who are either he

00:00:17 --> 00:00:20

also be about a curse and limit asleep and

00:00:21 --> 00:00:24

because here on Eli Yomi Dean and my bad

00:00:26 --> 00:00:29

call Allahu terracota Allah for the Quran emoji duel for carnal

00:00:29 --> 00:00:33

Hamid shadow Ramadan, Allah the on Zillow phenol Quran.

00:00:35 --> 00:00:37

So the Kola who love him, my dear respected

00:00:40 --> 00:00:45

sisters, where we've had a discussion about Ramadan, and what

00:00:45 --> 00:00:49

to do in Ramadan and other things related. So I'm not going to take

00:00:49 --> 00:00:51

too much time, I want to spend some time today if you have

00:00:51 --> 00:00:53

questions to deal with them.

00:00:54 --> 00:01:00

But since Ramadan is coming very close, just a few weeks away, we

00:01:00 --> 00:01:00

need

00:01:01 --> 00:01:05

there may be just some things that I will mention, which will

00:01:07 --> 00:01:12

which may have not been mentioned. So the few things that I want to

00:01:12 --> 00:01:15

mention about Ramadan, some of you may have heard them before,

00:01:15 --> 00:01:18

because we discuss these things generally before Ramadan as well.

00:01:18 --> 00:01:20

And it's as a reminder.

00:01:21 --> 00:01:25

So the main thing is that we want the best out of this month of

00:01:25 --> 00:01:30

Ramadan. And our aim and objective right from the outset needs to be

00:01:30 --> 00:01:34

that this Ramadan has to be better than the previous Ramadan, and in

00:01:34 --> 00:01:39

fact, any Ramadan before it. Because it's the opportunity that

00:01:39 --> 00:01:41

Allah subhanaw taala gives us every year to do

00:01:42 --> 00:01:46

to have that potential just to do more. And to get more for what we

00:01:46 --> 00:01:50

do to earn to basically get more for less,

00:01:51 --> 00:01:54

we want to use it as much as possible to try to accumulate

00:01:54 --> 00:01:56

because it could be our last Ramadan. I mean, that's a

00:01:56 --> 00:02:01

possibility as well, we may not get other Ramadan. So the idea of

00:02:01 --> 00:02:05

the Ramadan is actually to boost us to rocket us to another level.

00:02:06 --> 00:02:09

So we want that to be better than any of the Ramadan's before it.

00:02:10 --> 00:02:13

But in order to do that, then you need to prepare to get the best

00:02:13 --> 00:02:17

out of something, the best thing is to prepare for it. And the way

00:02:17 --> 00:02:21

you prepare is to try to get major chores out of the way beforehand.

00:02:22 --> 00:02:25

Everybody has things that they want to do, Ramadan is still part

00:02:25 --> 00:02:29

of our life, we still have to eat and Ramadan, we just changed the

00:02:29 --> 00:02:32

schedule we still have to live with still people are still gonna

00:02:32 --> 00:02:35

have to go to school, people will still have to go to work, they'll

00:02:35 --> 00:02:38

still be repair works, maybe they'll still be shopping to do,

00:02:39 --> 00:02:44

and so on and so forth. But the more we can try to get out of the

00:02:44 --> 00:02:48

way beforehand, then the more we can dedicate ourselves to the

00:02:48 --> 00:02:51

activities of Ramadan itself, as opposed to the mundane activities.

00:02:52 --> 00:02:55

I mean, I don't think it's possible to actually just cook

00:02:55 --> 00:02:58

everything beforehand, just eat I mean, you still have to warm up

00:02:58 --> 00:03:03

things and so on. But if we can get most of the base preparation

00:03:03 --> 00:03:09

done, maybe get also a schedule made for Ramadan for every single

00:03:09 --> 00:03:12

day what you're going to cook because I know for some women, one

00:03:12 --> 00:03:15

of the most difficult things, even more than cooking itself is to

00:03:15 --> 00:03:20

actually decide what to cook. That's a major psychological

00:03:20 --> 00:03:24

decision that has to be taken because the thinking, What would I

00:03:24 --> 00:03:27

like? What would the people I'm feeding and that are also going to

00:03:27 --> 00:03:31

eat with me? What do they like, and have I had it before have we

00:03:31 --> 00:03:34

just made it before shouldn't seem like a repeat. And they should

00:03:34 --> 00:03:36

make it should please people as well. So if you can just

00:03:36 --> 00:03:40

brainstorm that beforehand and make a schedule, then it's easy.

00:03:41 --> 00:03:44

Then also, there's certain shopping that needs to be done for

00:03:44 --> 00:03:47

these things. Well, that can also be taken care of beforehand, I

00:03:47 --> 00:03:51

need this much meat, I need this much of this, this much of that.

00:03:51 --> 00:03:55

Most of that can also be done in advance. So again, all of that can

00:03:55 --> 00:03:58

be prepared, all of that can be organized from beforehand. And

00:03:58 --> 00:04:01

that should help a lot. Because in Ramadan, you don't want to be kind

00:04:01 --> 00:04:04

of rushing around trying to do different things. It just takes

00:04:04 --> 00:04:07

away real time. It just takes away a lot of benefit that you can

00:04:07 --> 00:04:11

potentially get during the month of Ramadan. Right. So number one,

00:04:11 --> 00:04:14

the mundane things we plan for that we try to prepare for that

00:04:14 --> 00:04:18

and get a lot of that preparation done. Number two, the second thing

00:04:18 --> 00:04:19

is that for us for our

00:04:20 --> 00:04:24

success in Ramadan, what do you want to do extra this year if last

00:04:24 --> 00:04:27

year I finished this many Koreans and I did this much reading and

00:04:27 --> 00:04:28

this much reflection and

00:04:29 --> 00:04:33

this much thicker than I want to try to get more of that done this

00:04:33 --> 00:04:37

month of Ramadan. I want to include our family in it. For

00:04:37 --> 00:04:41

example, I want everybody to do something I want how can we

00:04:41 --> 00:04:44

facilitate that? What kind of plans can we make? What kind of

00:04:44 --> 00:04:47

strategies do we have in that regard? So I think when we tried

00:04:47 --> 00:04:52

to plan like that, that okay, we're going to try to have a maybe

00:04:52 --> 00:04:57

a competition of who reads the most, not just who reads the most

00:04:57 --> 00:04:59

Quran but who reads the most stuff. See who reads the

00:05:00 --> 00:05:04

who reflects who you who takes time to do that. Maybe some other

00:05:04 --> 00:05:08

activities of maybe helping somebody else who don't have maybe

00:05:08 --> 00:05:12

to give them some Iftar to help some Iftar maybe contribute one

00:05:12 --> 00:05:15

day to the masjid Iftar for example, if the if that's

00:05:15 --> 00:05:15

happening,

00:05:16 --> 00:05:20

because feeding people in Ramadan is also a good thing to help

00:05:20 --> 00:05:24

somebody break the fast. But then if that's what you're mainly

00:05:24 --> 00:05:27

focused on to the detriment of reading the Quran, and so on,

00:05:28 --> 00:05:31

because you're cooking whole day for every day, I mean, that's not

00:05:32 --> 00:05:33

really a balanced either.

00:05:35 --> 00:05:38

What we heard from some of our machines of the past,

00:05:39 --> 00:05:44

even cigs, the courier Huntelaar, they used to have the women of the

00:05:44 --> 00:05:48

house just cook some of the basic dishes, but they used to order the

00:05:49 --> 00:05:53

roti and the bread and all the rest of it. So that was just to

00:05:53 --> 00:05:57

facilitate for them. But then what about those people who are those

00:05:57 --> 00:06:00

sisters who are actually doing the roti business, they're not going

00:06:00 --> 00:06:04

to get any worship done. So we need to be considerate of those as

00:06:04 --> 00:06:06

well. So I'm not promoting that you go and start buying your roti

00:06:06 --> 00:06:11

from these roti producing sisters. Because they have to do some

00:06:11 --> 00:06:14

Ibaadat as well. So maybe they can just make a huge stock beforehand

00:06:14 --> 00:06:18

or something like that. Right. But anyway, that's just certain

00:06:18 --> 00:06:22

things. The main thing I would say is that in terms of Ramadan, what

00:06:22 --> 00:06:25

we should add is obviously our Quran reading because every letter

00:06:25 --> 00:06:30

has the additional 10 Verse 1010 rewards for it. But along with

00:06:30 --> 00:06:30

that,

00:06:31 --> 00:06:35

the Ramadan month needs to be also the month of Mahajan. So whichever

00:06:35 --> 00:06:39

timetable you're following, obviously, if you find the earlier

00:06:39 --> 00:06:42

timetable, there's going to be very less time for tahajjud. But

00:06:42 --> 00:06:45

then, since most of the women will be praying at home, they're not

00:06:45 --> 00:06:48

going to have to go to the masjid so they're not actually restricted

00:06:48 --> 00:06:51

to the time it takes in the masjid to finish the Quran.

00:06:52 --> 00:06:56

To be honest, if you have children, or family members who

00:06:56 --> 00:07:00

have Quran, who have who are men who have memorized the Quran,

00:07:00 --> 00:07:04

rather than let them just do for a cut somewhere in a masjid, that

00:07:04 --> 00:07:08

are we, I would actually personally suggest that you get

00:07:08 --> 00:07:10

them to do taraweeh. At home, as long as you got somebody to listen

00:07:10 --> 00:07:15

to them, you've got to half is in the home. Or you can organize with

00:07:15 --> 00:07:17

another relative or something another cousin or something like

00:07:17 --> 00:07:21

that, so that the women can even do therapy at home. That's really

00:07:21 --> 00:07:23

good. That's what we actually do we've been doing for the last

00:07:23 --> 00:07:28

several years anyway. So it's very useful, because the women at home

00:07:28 --> 00:07:32

also get to attend the tarawih in the house with their family

00:07:32 --> 00:07:35

members. So that's one thing that you can do.

00:07:36 --> 00:07:40

Along with that, try to at least do some Tahajjud prayer each day.

00:07:41 --> 00:07:44

Even if that's just two or four tickets, I know that for the

00:07:45 --> 00:07:47

people who are following the early timetable, there's actually not

00:07:47 --> 00:07:52

much time in between at all. Because if I'm assuming Saturday

00:07:52 --> 00:07:54

time is going to be around one something or one o'clock or

00:07:54 --> 00:07:57

something like that, I'm assuming is going to be one something, by

00:07:57 --> 00:08:01

the time you finish, that will be about 1212 o'clock, you've got

00:08:01 --> 00:08:04

about one hour to do everything. So again, if all of that is

00:08:04 --> 00:08:07

prepared from beforehand, then you can actually spend that time. And

00:08:07 --> 00:08:10

the most wonderful thing is that if you can actually try to keep

00:08:10 --> 00:08:14

your will do from Asia to Fisher, that would be wonderful. Because

00:08:14 --> 00:08:19

then you've got actually the whole night spent in order to be able to

00:08:19 --> 00:08:23

do Fajr to be able to do Fajr with the same will do that you did for

00:08:23 --> 00:08:28

Isha and tarawih. That's something that we just used to hear in books

00:08:28 --> 00:08:31

that we used to just read in books and hear about the people of the

00:08:31 --> 00:08:35

past that they did this. But it's Allah has made that a reality for

00:08:35 --> 00:08:38

us, it's easy. And if you can actually do it from Maghrib time,

00:08:38 --> 00:08:41

then that's even better, right, because the longer you stay in

00:08:41 --> 00:08:45

will do. So one of these particular benefits, so you do

00:08:45 --> 00:08:47

Tahajjud prayer. And then of course, there's the faster the

00:08:47 --> 00:08:51

fast is very long. The main thing in the fast is not to waste any

00:08:51 --> 00:08:52

time.

00:08:53 --> 00:08:56

But rather to try to use it to the best of your ability. And when you

00:08:56 --> 00:08:59

have nothing else to do, then don't waste your time with

00:08:59 --> 00:09:03

watching TV or internet or I mean nowadays, people will probably put

00:09:03 --> 00:09:05

their TVs off if they've got one in the house, they probably put

00:09:05 --> 00:09:08

them off in Ramadan. A lot of people do that. But then there's

00:09:08 --> 00:09:12

one TV that you're never going to have off, which is WhatsApp videos

00:09:13 --> 00:09:17

that people send to us, and Facebook videos and so on. So they

00:09:17 --> 00:09:20

need to be minimized as well. In fact, if you can just get yourself

00:09:20 --> 00:09:24

off groups during the month of Ramadan, that would be the best

00:09:24 --> 00:09:26

thing. Only keep yourself on the most essential ones that you need

00:09:26 --> 00:09:27

to be on.

00:09:29 --> 00:09:31

And even those that you're on, I mean you just have to try to learn

00:09:31 --> 00:09:34

to ignore maybe this is the time to liberate yourself and ignore as

00:09:34 --> 00:09:35

much as possible.

00:09:36 --> 00:09:39

The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said that whoever first

00:09:39 --> 00:09:42

during the month of Ramadan with iman and the sub their previous

00:09:42 --> 00:09:47

sins will be forgiven. And that means Whoever fasts for the sake

00:09:47 --> 00:09:51

of Allah because of their faith in Allah not because it's just what

00:09:51 --> 00:09:53

every believer does, and if I don't do it, I'm gonna look really

00:09:53 --> 00:09:57

bad. But really because I want to do it for Allah subhanaw taala

00:09:57 --> 00:09:59

that will actually make the fast much easier.

00:10:00 --> 00:10:04

Because when you've got a reason for doing it, when you're doing it

00:10:04 --> 00:10:08

for a particular reason, things become easier to do anyway. So

00:10:08 --> 00:10:11

with all the heat and everything like that hamdulillah we've had

00:10:11 --> 00:10:14

experience of several years of this already. And what's most

00:10:14 --> 00:10:17

amazing is that when you're about to start, you think it's going to

00:10:17 --> 00:10:21

be very difficult. But Allah facilitates and makes it so easy.

00:10:22 --> 00:10:25

Allah would never have obligated us to do this, if this was not

00:10:25 --> 00:10:29

within the human potential and ability, because now you can live

00:10:29 --> 00:10:33

Allah Who enough son in law was Allah, Allah doesn't make anybody

00:10:33 --> 00:10:36

liable, responsible and accountable for things that are

00:10:36 --> 00:10:41

not within their ability. The fact that it is within our ability, but

00:10:41 --> 00:10:44

that's something that you can only understand through experience.

00:10:44 --> 00:10:47

When I was in South Africa two years ago in Ramadan, were the

00:10:47 --> 00:10:50

first one you 12 hours. Personally, I enjoyed these fast

00:10:50 --> 00:10:53

more than there because the day would just finish very quickly,

00:10:53 --> 00:10:57

you'd have more of a night so that was the only benefits but the fast

00:10:57 --> 00:11:00

were too small. Right? You wake up you do a few things and it's

00:11:00 --> 00:11:01

awesome to pray and then it's mockery, prayer.

00:11:03 --> 00:11:05

But one of the things that even some of the scholars were saying

00:11:05 --> 00:11:08

there when they heard because we were finishing a shot at about

00:11:09 --> 00:11:12

we were finishing Isha and Tara we had about half eight and a half

00:11:12 --> 00:11:13

feet

00:11:14 --> 00:11:17

right? Because that are we starting at 710 or something

00:11:17 --> 00:11:21

sorry, Isha was starting about 7057 10. And by the time we

00:11:21 --> 00:11:25

finished, that is about 830. And then we do a little beyond and I

00:11:25 --> 00:11:27

would tell them that in London at this point in time, we will do be

00:11:27 --> 00:11:30

doing assert prayer, and doing an Azerbaijan

00:11:31 --> 00:11:34

so the alumni were quite surprised because they would go to sleep at

00:11:34 --> 00:11:37

nine o'clock 930 Because they, you know, they have a full night's

00:11:37 --> 00:11:41

sleep and awake and wake up at five o'clock for school. And then

00:11:41 --> 00:11:44

after that you stay awake. So they said, haven't you guys got any

00:11:44 --> 00:11:48

discretion? Any competent, special compensation that you know, you

00:11:48 --> 00:11:52

can listen to hours? I'm like, why do we even need that? Even our

00:11:52 --> 00:11:56

children are keeping fastI and 8789 year olds are keeping these

00:11:56 --> 00:12:00

big fasts. Allah's makes it easy. That's amazing thing, Allah makes

00:12:00 --> 00:12:06

it easy. But for each individual, to make it easy, you need to have

00:12:06 --> 00:12:12

Iman and the sub, which means anticipate, from Allah, whatever

00:12:12 --> 00:12:16

you want for that fast, whether the anticipation is for reward.

00:12:17 --> 00:12:20

Anticipation is for closest to Allah. Anticipation is for Mark

00:12:20 --> 00:12:24

Farah and forgiveness. Why am I fasting? What do I want from my

00:12:24 --> 00:12:29

fasting? Fasting is this supposedly selfless act that can

00:12:29 --> 00:12:32

only be for Allah. That's why many other men have written that, you

00:12:32 --> 00:12:37

know, when you pray, that could be for showing someone else that I'm

00:12:37 --> 00:12:39

only praying because these guys are on I want to show them that

00:12:39 --> 00:12:45

I'm pious or something. When you give zakat or sadaqa. The reason

00:12:45 --> 00:12:48

you're spending is to show somebody you're wealthy, or that

00:12:48 --> 00:12:49

you're You're very generous.

00:12:51 --> 00:12:54

When it comes to fasting, you can't have a dual intention that

00:12:54 --> 00:12:57

is saying any dual intention there is insignificant in that sense.

00:12:57 --> 00:13:01

Because if I want to tell people I'm fasting, I can be eating as

00:13:01 --> 00:13:03

much as possible hiding because I'm not in front of everybody all

00:13:03 --> 00:13:06

the time. I just tell them I'm fasting, I can just give a

00:13:06 --> 00:13:11

straightforward lie. But if I am staying hungry, then that must be

00:13:11 --> 00:13:15

for the sake of Allah. That's why one of the only worships where

00:13:15 --> 00:13:20

Allah says that fasting is for me, and I directly give the reward for

00:13:20 --> 00:13:23

it. So the angels are not necessarily consigned to give

00:13:24 --> 00:13:27

allocate record rewards for that it's Allah Himself, because

00:13:27 --> 00:13:30

fasting has to be for me. That's why many other ma have discussed

00:13:30 --> 00:13:33

that fasting cannot have any Rhea and ostentation in it.

00:13:35 --> 00:13:36

So

00:13:37 --> 00:13:40

we need to really make it for Allah, the base level, it's for

00:13:40 --> 00:13:44

Allah. That's why we're doing it. But we want to have Iman and then

00:13:44 --> 00:13:47

we want to have as as much anticipation of as many things as

00:13:47 --> 00:13:50

possible at the sub. I want Allah's forgiveness. I want Allah

00:13:50 --> 00:13:54

as Rama when Allah is closeness, I want Allah to raise my status. I

00:13:54 --> 00:13:58

want him to be happy with me. I want him to bless me, all of these

00:13:58 --> 00:14:01

things are at the sub, the province awesome, lifted, General,

00:14:01 --> 00:14:02

the sub.

00:14:03 --> 00:14:05

Anticipate whatever you want.

00:14:06 --> 00:14:10

So when we can do that, if you find, you get thirsty, you get

00:14:10 --> 00:14:14

tired, you get sleepy, and it's because you're fasting and the

00:14:14 --> 00:14:18

weather in which we're fasting. Maybe just that's the moment of

00:14:18 --> 00:14:22

Artesia think about why you're doing it.

00:14:23 --> 00:14:27

And Allah subhanaw taala loves it when people think about him.

00:14:28 --> 00:14:31

That's why the Allah ma have written and it get that in some

00:14:31 --> 00:14:37

Hadith as well that sometimes a sin takes you closer to Allah than

00:14:37 --> 00:14:38

a normal state of

00:14:39 --> 00:14:43

complacency. Like we haven't done if we don't think we're doing

00:14:43 --> 00:14:47

anything wrong. Then sometimes we think that mashallah we're What do

00:14:47 --> 00:14:50

you allow something and we don't do anything wrong. So we don't

00:14:50 --> 00:14:54

actually do anything extra. We just kind of do normal. But when a

00:14:54 --> 00:14:58

person falls and makes a sin commits a sin, then they feel very

00:14:58 --> 00:14:59

guilty and

00:15:00 --> 00:15:05

then they do a lot of Tober. And then that shoots them up. So it's

00:15:05 --> 00:15:08

amazing how Allah subhanaw taala has made the system for us that

00:15:08 --> 00:15:12

even when you sin, by mistake or by accident or by being

00:15:12 --> 00:15:16

overwhelmed, for whatever reason, is always the way to come back.

00:15:16 --> 00:15:20

And to actually come back even better. That's the most amazing

00:15:20 --> 00:15:24

thing that I find in the concept of Toba in Islam, that you could

00:15:24 --> 00:15:29

come back better than you were before the sin. Not that you do

00:15:29 --> 00:15:32

sins for that reason, because you can exponentially get much further

00:15:32 --> 00:15:36

without doing the sin if you just focused, but I'm just saying in

00:15:36 --> 00:15:37

our default 70 become complacent.

00:15:39 --> 00:15:40

So

00:15:41 --> 00:15:45

we want to again, waste the least amount of time we want our fast to

00:15:45 --> 00:15:50

be as pristine and proper as possible. We want to do enormous

00:15:50 --> 00:15:54

amounts of hisab. During that time, we want to make our dua

00:15:55 --> 00:16:00

Iftar, during Iftar beforehand, we want to increase the number of

00:16:00 --> 00:16:06

Quran that we do. And we want to also add in certain salats, like a

00:16:06 --> 00:16:10

well being and after Margarita, that's going to be difficult, but

00:16:10 --> 00:16:13

at least when you get up in the morning, whatever time you get up,

00:16:13 --> 00:16:18

you can do a Shahrokh prayer 2468 Records whatever it may be. The

00:16:18 --> 00:16:22

benefit of all of this is that inshallah once we get it wired

00:16:22 --> 00:16:26

into our system during Ramadan, it's easier to retain this after

00:16:26 --> 00:16:30

Ramadan so that it's not just for Ramadan, that we're changing the

00:16:30 --> 00:16:33

schedule, and then we get something after Ramadan.

00:16:34 --> 00:16:38

Even in tarawih, we do 20 records. The Prophet sallallahu Sallam has

00:16:38 --> 00:16:41

a similar narration, whoever stands during the nights of

00:16:41 --> 00:16:45

Ramadan, they also with iman and hisab than their previous sins are

00:16:45 --> 00:16:48

forgiven. So whoever stands we're going to stand because we're going

00:16:48 --> 00:16:52

to do Tarawih prayer, just like we're going to fast. But if you if

00:16:52 --> 00:16:57

you do it with iman, and the sub this anticipation, then even that

00:16:57 --> 00:16:59

rockets you further up.

00:17:00 --> 00:17:05

So we ask Allah subhanaw taala to help us in this regard. The

00:17:06 --> 00:17:10

Ramadan is the month of the Quran. And that's why it's always been

00:17:10 --> 00:17:13

from the time of the Prophet sallallahu Sallam prophets, Allah

00:17:13 --> 00:17:18

some himself used to do an entire revision, a review of the entire

00:17:18 --> 00:17:23

Quran that had been revealed up to them. And then in the last year,

00:17:23 --> 00:17:27

he did it twice with Gibreel Ali Salam, though, would you realize

00:17:27 --> 00:17:31

Salam. So even from his time, and then you've got the Sahaba, who

00:17:31 --> 00:17:35

did these long tarawih is, what is mentioned is that during the time

00:17:35 --> 00:17:39

of it, or the other times, they will do tarawih for so long, much

00:17:39 --> 00:17:41

longer than our tarawih that people would be, you know, the

00:17:41 --> 00:17:43

older people, they would actually have to stand with sticks,

00:17:44 --> 00:17:47

just to continue to stand.

00:17:48 --> 00:17:52

And in fact, the word tarawih comes from Theresa, it's a plural

00:17:52 --> 00:17:57

of Teresa, that we have means the rest in between every four gods.

00:17:57 --> 00:18:00

And if you look at majority of the books are fake, you'll actually

00:18:00 --> 00:18:05

find that it says, to sit for rest for the amount of time it takes

00:18:05 --> 00:18:12

you to perform for records. So if for God's take five to seven

00:18:12 --> 00:18:15

minutes, then to actually sit for five to seven minutes afterwards,

00:18:15 --> 00:18:19

then to do the next, then to sit again and then to do next. We just

00:18:19 --> 00:18:22

don't see that today because we don't have time, right? Even in

00:18:22 --> 00:18:25

the place where fasting is only 12 hours like the southern

00:18:25 --> 00:18:30

hemisphere, Australian, South Africa, South America, right at

00:18:30 --> 00:18:34

this point in time or even when it was 12 hours here 15 years ago.

00:18:35 --> 00:18:39

I don't think anybody did that. But what they used to do in the

00:18:39 --> 00:18:42

Haram is that they used to take that time to do tawaf in between

00:18:43 --> 00:18:46

and in Madina Munawwara there was no tawaf there. So in the theory,

00:18:46 --> 00:18:49

they would actually do some extra in our field. That's why according

00:18:49 --> 00:18:54

to Imam Malik Rahim Allah one opinion of his is that tarawih is

00:18:54 --> 00:19:00

the 20 rockets plus the four rest times that you get in between you

00:19:00 --> 00:19:02

add another four rockets in so how much do you get?

00:19:05 --> 00:19:08

Exactly so according to him, one opinion is that the law is 36

00:19:08 --> 00:19:12

records. And I was actually because of the for extra in those

00:19:12 --> 00:19:15

times that people would just do by themselves or they sat and did

00:19:15 --> 00:19:20

something that was traditionally the taraweeh right for probably a

00:19:20 --> 00:19:24

number of centuries. But today you hardly see that I don't think even

00:19:24 --> 00:19:27

in Saudi they I don't think even in the domain they take that long

00:19:27 --> 00:19:30

in between them. But that's just to give you have an idea of where

00:19:30 --> 00:19:34

we were and you know what has been done before and so on.

00:19:35 --> 00:19:40

So we ask Allah subhana wa Tada to allow us to prefer prepare for

00:19:40 --> 00:19:44

this month of Ramadan by giving us Baraka during this time to get

00:19:44 --> 00:19:48

away, get get rid of a lot of things that we need to do before

00:19:48 --> 00:19:51

Ramadan so that we can really dedicate ourselves to Ramadan. Of

00:19:51 --> 00:19:55

course, there will be people among us who can't give up the jobs they

00:19:55 --> 00:19:59

do or there's certain tasks, but that's fine. Again, some of the

00:19:59 --> 00:20:00

major things in

00:20:00 --> 00:20:03

that can be done beforehand, so that you just fulfill whatever has

00:20:03 --> 00:20:07

to be done. And then you use the rest of the time. Remember, the

00:20:07 --> 00:20:12

way to get Baraka in your time is to organize time. Without

00:20:12 --> 00:20:15

organizing time, you don't get Baraka because you'll just be,

00:20:15 --> 00:20:19

especially when you're tired and hungry, then you may just be

00:20:19 --> 00:20:22

taking time to sleep and so on. So have a time to have an app

00:20:22 --> 00:20:26

organize the time to have an app fit that into your schedule. But

00:20:26 --> 00:20:30

bizarrely, Rahim Allah mentions it very clearly, that by organizing

00:20:30 --> 00:20:34

your time and making sure you stick to your schedule is by is a

00:20:34 --> 00:20:39

method by which blessing in time will manifest itself and those

00:20:39 --> 00:20:41

people who are very organized

00:20:42 --> 00:20:46

they generally tend to be very productive. So we want to be

00:20:46 --> 00:20:49

productive people, for ourselves and for our after hereafter

00:20:49 --> 00:20:54

Inshallah, because there, this world will go very soon. And is

00:20:54 --> 00:20:58

the real is the real life is the of the Hereafter that is such an

00:20:58 --> 00:21:02

important thing for any Muslim to believe in the afterlife.

00:21:03 --> 00:21:07

So, regardless of whether we live in this world for five years, 10

00:21:07 --> 00:21:11

years, 100 years, even the real life is the eternal life and

00:21:11 --> 00:21:12

that's where things are really gonna matter.

00:21:14 --> 00:21:16

We ask Allah subhanaw taala to

00:21:17 --> 00:21:21

help us and assist us in making this life conducive for the

00:21:21 --> 00:21:25

afterlife, so that we can actually benefit from this life for the

00:21:25 --> 00:21:28

sake of the afterlife, forgive our sins, Forgive our mistakes,

00:21:28 --> 00:21:32

forgive our excesses and allow us to be closer to him and make this

00:21:32 --> 00:21:37

Ramadan, a source of proximity to him that we've never had before.

00:21:38 --> 00:21:40

While he did that on our annual hamdulillahi rabbil aalameen
