freewill. There are many surprises that we get in life, there are

many things that come to us without us actually having to work

as hard for it as maybe somebody else.

And sometimes, you know, we're born with a, some people are born

with a silver spoon in their mouth as such.

Having said that,

Allah subhanho wa Taala had everything written in the divine

tablets about 50,000 years before the creation of the world, when he

created the pen and the tablet you told the pen to write independent

taala said, Write everything that is going to occur until the day of

judgment. So the pen wrote in this and inscribed all of this

information, in a descriptive fashion in a narrative fashion,

to happen, this person is going to stay for this long and so on. All

of that information is in the Amel Kitab which is the mother of all

books, this book of this divine tablet as such, but when the

embryo reaches the third trimester, 120 days, that's when,

as mentioned in the hadith of Muslim Masuda, the Allah one

relates that

an angel comes and this fetus that is growing in the stomach in the

womb, the soul of the human being that is supposed to be associated

now with this embryo, this embryo is supposed to become someone, a

boy or a girl with this particular name, who's going to live for this

long, that association is now made firm at about 120 days, because

the souls have all been created from the time of Adam it has

the creation of this world, and before that eternally in the

designation that is made at about 120 days that this is how much

this person is going to earn. Another thing that's actually

written at that time is what is mentioned in this hadith is the

place that the person is going to die. Now, the place that a person

is going to die, maybe a place that the person is probably never

going to go to in their life, except at that last moment. So

it's not a place that they the parents have brought them up in,

or that they've adopted for their residence, or they migrated to

they've moved to it's hardly ever anything of that nature. Most of

the time, it's, it could be in a place that is totally different

and something you had never had them in your life. Most of the

time though people die in the place that they are normally, but

not always. The majority of the time. It's predictable, in a

sense, but that Allah subhanaw taala

As Hadith just says that whenever Allah subhanaw taala wants

somebody to die in a particular place, then that person will be

a certain need will come up and the person will go there or be

taken there or something. Certain examples, for example, it's

related about Imam Malik Imam Malik wanted to go towards the

end, he wanted to go for go to my karma, karma. But the fear that he

had was that if he left Madina, Munawwara and he died, that he

would not attain the death of Madina Munawwara the illuminated

he was in this, you could say this predicament of should I go, should

I not go? Right? Obviously, you probably didn't stop him from

going in the earlier days. But now as you're growing older, death

can get a better idea, we may get a better idea than maybe people

before. But don't don't think that the people before when they didn't

have satellites were in the primitiveness is as we might think

it was that they couldn't understand these things. Sometimes

they were a lot better by seeing the cosmic science without the use

use of artificial eyes in the sky, that they could tell certain

things. Just and this was not that they could tell the future. This

was just they could see the signs in nature itself, as opposed to

having to use timetables for example, or compasses for that

matter. So one must one must realize that

now, people could tell before as well, to a certain degree, whether

100%. And even what is normally shown through the ultrasound is

normally not always 100%. Right? It's quite accurate, but it's not

100% All the time. Despite that, Allah subhanaw taala knows exactly

what is in there, what it's going to look like when he grows up.

Nobody can tell you that, right what it's going to look like. I

mean through certain genetic things, it can give you some idea,

but in terms of Allah subhanaw taala knows exactly how long

they're going to live and he's got a thorough a thorough knowledge of

exactly what that child is going to be like, how long it's going to

live, how long you know, when it's going to die and all that

says you don't know what you're going to earn tomorrow, we all

kind of have an idea what we're going to earn tomorrow. Because if

you've got a fixed job with a particular salary, you know, at

the end of it, you're going to get a check for that amount. Right? If

you've got a business, well, you've got an idea, right? You may

get extra bonuses, you may get extra customers, you know, it may

be

a particular time of the year or whatever, you have a general idea

but Allah subhanaw taala knows exactly what's going to happen

because you may wish a person may lose their job the next day, the

person may be needed the next day. So

one of our friends whose father came from Bhopal in India as an

came to the Harlem at the age of 12. singly without his family, and

Medina yet? And you know, normally she doesn't ask like that. But

this time she was asking, are we in Medina? Are we in Medina,

constantly pestering, asking? They said Not yet? Not yet? Not yet.

Finally, when they had gone three and a half hours or four hours,

whatever it was, and they just entered into the realm of Madina,

Munawwara they've just gone into the hoodoo. The limits of Madina

Munawwara there's a particular mountain, I think, is jubilarians.

I think

they've just gone inside and then they said to her, yes, now we're

in Madina, Munawwara where we're here, we're going to be a few

minutes, we should be home, and she passed away in the car, just

waiting. Subhanallah

right. So only Allah subhanaw taala knows best. On another

occasion, I mean, with my own mother in what I realized is that

we took her to hospital because she was

she was suffering from cancer. May Allah have mercy on her. So we

take into her to the hospital in the in the last day or two. And

they didn't want to release her because she wasn't stable yet. But

then, every time that she'd been before, she was never so

persistent about coming home, but now she was just persistent. Take

me home, take me home, take me home. If my father didn't listen

to her and kept telling her it's okay. It's okay. You know, don't

worry, you know, because you just comfort them. And you say it's

okay. You know, you think they're just speaking. So you just comfort

them and say, No, don't worry, you know, you'll be very, you know,

you'll be fine. Once you stabilize, we'll take you home,

then she would ask me, like, you take me please write like somebody

takes me Subhanallah somebody told me, she asked my brother. And he

would just say, Oh, don't worry about it, you know? So he's just

trying to calm everybody down. She goes like you take me, right. And

I would have to say, eventually, we said that there was something

going on here, you know, it wasn't normal for us, and so on. And

finally we just said, went to the doctor and said, Look, I

understand your policy of keeping them here until they're

stabilized. But you know, she's going to be a lot more comfortable

at home. So there we go. So they signed her off when we got home.

That was an after that she didn't say anything. So until now,

although she was in this state, she used to speak somewhat, but

now there was no speech at all. And then finally, the next day,

there wasn't even a pulse in the morning. And then in a few hours,

she had passed away, Rahim Allah, but the main thing is that

Subhanallah she wanted home she did not want to die in that

hospital. So she stuck it out. Allah subhanho wa Taala had

written for her death to be in the house with the family there as

opposed to in the hospital. And that's exactly how it was. So

Allah subhanho wa Taala writes these things nobody knows. But the

main thing is that Allah creates a need for the person to be

So a person may be written to be dying in another country, he may

have gone there on a business trip, sometimes people go to visit

visit from another country, and they die here and they're buried

here. Scholars have gone to a certain country to give some, some

lectures or teach something and then they die there as opposed to

That's why we ask Allah subhanaw taala for the best of deaths. And

like the Hadith that we read before, Armada the Allahu Anhu
