			Matter Rahim Al hamdu Lillahi Rabbil Alameen wa sallahu wa salam ala says Oh, Woodinville Akhirin
Nabina Muhammad and Allah, Allah He was happy he was adequate Sunday. All praise are due to Allah,
Lord of the worlds and peace and blessings be constantly showered upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad,
the master of the first and last, and upon his family, his companions and all those who call to his
way, and establish his sunnah to the day of judgment as to what follows my beloved brothers and
sisters to our friends. As Salam alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

00:00:43 --> 00:01:03
			Alhamdulillah this is a special series that we're doing in the month of Ramadan, in order to
facilitate those new Muslims, those revived Muslims, those who have were born in Muslim families,
but have now accepted the faith for themself

00:01:05 --> 00:01:20
			for those people who are interested in Islam. So this is the new Muslim corner. And it's made to
look at the foundations of the month of Ramadan and to answer some of the questions that you may
have concerning

00:01:21 --> 00:01:39
			some aspects of Ramadan as we go through the month. So Hamdulillah we have entered into the month,
we are coming to the end of the first week. And the fast now, as we discussed, should be starting to
become a habit.

00:01:40 --> 00:01:55
			In the beginning, the first couple of days, it's a trauma to most people's bodies, not to eat or
drink, you know, during the daylight hours, but after a while, the body based upon the mind and the
soul

00:01:56 --> 00:02:43
			starts to get used to it. You will never be completely used to it. But it becomes a rhythm and we're
able to rise above some of the difficulties that we're having. So, we want to look at types of
fasting and some of the special qualities within the fasts because now we've come through the first
few days and we want to take it to a higher level. Prophet Muhammad Salah Salem on one occasion,
said to his followers robber saw him in lace a lovely woman crme he ill Juha will Robocar Eman lace
Allah who made me ill Assa. There are some who fast, but they will get nothing from the fast but
hunger.

00:02:44 --> 00:02:58
			There are others who stand in the night making press. But they'll get nothing out of the prayers,
but sleeplessness. So think about this hadith. See what he's saying. Some people, they're fasting.

00:02:59 --> 00:03:02
			But there's no benefit in this, there's no reward.

00:03:03 --> 00:03:04
			They're only hungry.

00:03:06 --> 00:03:13
			And there are some who are making their evening prayers going up and down in some cases,

00:03:14 --> 00:03:23
			not having any understanding about what they're doing. Maybe doing it because their family does it.
Or because it's a nice group activity.

00:03:24 --> 00:03:30
			Or there's a nice Iftar before it right or some nice samosas after it, whatever it is.

00:03:31 --> 00:04:15
			Okay, but they're not getting the true benefit. And so this is pointing to the fact that we need
something else from the first another Hadith the Prophet SAW Selim said manlam Jada called zoar,
while Hammarby he will Jaha for laser Lilla he Hajah and Jada autonoma, who will shut up that
whoever does not stop giving false witness like scandalizing on false witness and acting upon it.
And being ignorant, that Allah has no need for that person to leave their food or their drink.
You're wasting your time.

00:04:17 --> 00:04:28
			So that is saying, there's something more important in the fast, there's a higher level. So we need
to begin to understand the levels of the fast

00:04:29 --> 00:04:59
			how we can go to the highest level, and how we can really get the most out of this fest. And so, in
looking at this, one of the great scholars of Islam, Imam Al Ghazali, Rahim Allah, in one of his
encyclopedic discussions and compendiums looked at many aspects of Islam. And this was codified it
was abbreviated.

00:05:00 --> 00:05:24
			Oh by shark Ibn Kodama and Mark dizzy. So they looked at the levels of the fast. And this is a good
way to try to put flesh into what we're talking about. Okay, because we saw that there's something
else that we have to recognize there's something deeper in the fast. So the first level,

00:05:25 --> 00:05:28
			the shear called, he said, This is so much r1.

00:05:30 --> 00:05:33
			This is the fast of the masses of the people.

00:05:35 --> 00:05:49
			So you have now 2 billion Muslims, you have people fed the masses of the people fast in this way.
And that is the fast that is focusing on the physical side. It's a physical struggle

00:05:50 --> 00:05:52
			with hunger and with thirst.

00:05:53 --> 00:06:06
			Okay, and that is just what happened to the masses of the people, especially people who are sort of
like forced to fast, or they're just doing it for cultural reasons. And I remember coming into a
shop

00:06:08 --> 00:06:22
			where Muslims were there. And there were a few younger Muslims there who maybe didn't understand
Islamic teachings enough. And they were waiting, it was after us, after us a prayer.

00:06:23 --> 00:06:35
			And they're looking at their watch. And they're saying, like, when is this thing gonna get over and,
you know, like that, that type of thing, like really upset, like somebody was torturing them,

00:06:36 --> 00:07:34
			literally forcing them to do this. And so they kept looking at the time. So their struggle was time.
It's based upon making that, you know, that that physical struggle. And the time was so important.
And the most important activity of their whole day was if tar. If tar itself, that was the price to
get the food. You see, this is like what you could call it like an animalistic approach. Because the
animals in the sense of it's the carnal side, they're dealing with survival. And literally, when we
fast like this, with nothing to eat, nothing to drink for this long period of time, then, you know,
our body will naturally go in survival mode.

00:07:36 --> 00:08:21
			The mind goes in survival mode. And so this is how the masses of the people fast. But that's not the
real benefit of the fast. There's something else that is higher than this. And we need to be able to
rise to a higher level of the fast in order to get full benefits from this. So this is the first
level, this is so one hour. And I'm not saying that this is wrong, they fasted. If they can go
through the day, following the rules, then the the the obligation of fasting has been lifted from
them. Because we learned that Allah subhanaw taala told us

00:08:23 --> 00:08:45
			quotevalet como Siyam Kumar, katiba, Allah Allah danamon Kamala Kamala Allah Contacta con, that
fasting has been written on you. It's prescribed. So this is an obligation. And so by carrying out
the fast, then it's lifted, the obligation is lifted from okay.

00:08:46 --> 00:08:48
			And that person who does so much r1

00:08:49 --> 00:08:51
			Then it's lifted from

00:08:53 --> 00:08:55
			we want to look at the next level

00:08:56 --> 00:09:15
			that people go and that is what was called. So Monica was and that is the fasting of special ones.
So this is now people who are taking it to a higher level now. This is soy milk or was or sawmill
who sues.

00:09:16 --> 00:09:19
			Okay. And this is where

00:09:21 --> 00:09:31
			the whole body it's not just the physical fast, but your limbs, all of your limbs, in a sense of
fasting as well.

00:09:32 --> 00:09:36
			That's something that the average person who's told you can't eat, you can't drink

00:09:37 --> 00:09:41
			for the whole day. They're focusing on this but there's something else as well.

00:09:42 --> 00:09:51
			So someone who was this higher stage is where the person's eyes are fasting.

00:09:53 --> 00:09:55
			How can your eyes fast?

00:09:56 --> 00:09:59
			It's not like giving up food and drink. But remember

00:10:00 --> 00:10:14
			The essence of the fast is to gain Taqwa to consciousness of Allah. It's avoiding evil. So the eyes
have to fast as well. And that means that we need to avoid evil things with our eyes.

00:10:16 --> 00:10:28
			And one of the obvious things which is has played always playing a very important part in our life,
is the social media. Before it used to be the television.

00:10:29 --> 00:10:31
			But now a lot of people don't even watch television.

00:10:33 --> 00:10:36
			Okay, but what it is, is the cyberspace

00:10:37 --> 00:10:40
			is what you're looking at with your eyes.

00:10:41 --> 00:11:03
			Now, how you do this, this might differ from one individual to another, how it's actually carried
out. But your eyes have to avoid looking at evil things. And that is obviously nakedness. And
looking at haram actions, prohibited actions.

00:11:04 --> 00:11:18
			This is important. And one of the qualities of a believer is that we lower our gaze, so that if
something you know wrong is there, then we lowercase doesn't mean that you don't see it.

00:11:20 --> 00:11:40
			Because you will see it. But you learn to control your eyes. And this is important. And if we're
using social media, and I know it's getting more and more difficult, you need to sort of be able to
come off, things are popping up at you, right? So you need to avoid certain

00:11:41 --> 00:11:42
			types.

00:11:43 --> 00:11:53
			The Tick tock, I don't know, tick tock is filled with a lot of stuff, right? You know, so maybe
while you're fasting, you might have to avoid your tick tock,

00:11:54 --> 00:11:57
			anything that's going to have these things popping up at you.

00:11:58 --> 00:12:09
			Okay, but there are ways you can benefit from the social media. There are lectures, there are
different historical

00:12:10 --> 00:12:41
			discussions, there's many different things that you can watch documentaries. Okay, if that relaxes
you, it's okay. But you need to monitor your eyes. And one scholar even said that with your eyes,
you need to even avoid looking at things that you're not supposed to look at. Like he used the
example of peeking around the corner and looking at somebody's notes,

00:12:42 --> 00:12:49
			right, anything with your eyes, right? That that you're doing, avoid it, your eyes can do a lot of
things.

00:12:51 --> 00:13:00
			Eye contact with people, if you make eye contact with somebody, and you give them an evil look, some
people say you cut your eyes.

00:13:02 --> 00:13:32
			Okay, an evil look that you're given, you need to avoid that. See, try to get in touch with the
reality of the eyes. So you learn to literally control your eyes. And that is a great strength, if
we can develop that in the month of Ramadan, that that's progress. Because when the month is over,
you know, and the devils and Shayateen are back of the jinn. And all the whispering is there, then
we need to control our eyes.

00:13:33 --> 00:13:37
			Our ears should also be fasting.

00:13:38 --> 00:13:57
			And that means that we need to avoid obviously, sounds that are you know, swearing and carrying on
there are forms of entertainment where you know there's filth that's in it. It's our ears, listening
to things that is not pleasing to Allah subhanaw taala

00:13:58 --> 00:14:01
			and this does not mean that you only listen to the Quran itself all the time.

00:14:03 --> 00:14:13
			You can listen to other things, there are forms of nasheeds there are like I say lectures, there are
so many ways that you can listen to things maybe you can even listen to nature.

00:14:14 --> 00:14:25
			Because some people don't even listen to the birds and the birds inshallah they're coming back soon.
Although they might be slow down on the way when they hear what's happening with the weather.

00:14:26 --> 00:14:28
			But is

00:14:29 --> 00:14:37
			control your is your best friend calls and says, You know what I found out about Ali,

00:14:38 --> 00:14:40
			or about Zainab

00:14:41 --> 00:14:45
			and they're about to say a juicy story backbiting.

00:14:46 --> 00:14:52
			You know what I mean? Right? And some people spend a lot of their conversations, talking about other
people.

00:14:54 --> 00:15:00
			Try to gauge your conversations. If your conversation with somebody is only about other

00:15:00 --> 00:15:06
			People, this person that that person is this, right? When it starts and you're fasting,

00:15:07 --> 00:15:13
			you need to say to the person in a gentle way, or even just change the conversation

00:15:14 --> 00:15:26
			that you don't really want to go into, you know this putting down other people and listening to it.
Because when you're listening to it, you're part of the backbiting.

00:15:28 --> 00:15:34
			Because the back Biden needs somebody to talk to, if they don't have somebody to talk to, there's no
joy.

00:15:35 --> 00:15:44
			Right? The message is there negative message is not getting out. Right. So then so they need
somebody. So is need to fast.

00:15:47 --> 00:15:49
			Our tongue needs to fast.

00:15:50 --> 00:16:04
			And that's not just eating food. But that is the things that come out of our mouths. One thing
that's obvious is the cursing and the swearing, and things like that. Many scholars talk about

00:16:06 --> 00:16:09
			taking oaths and oath.

00:16:10 --> 00:16:45
			We don't take oath so much in this society today. Before they used to take us all the time. You
know, Arabic speaking people, many times you hear them say, well, Llahi they say Wallahi in the
beginning of the sentence. Okay. And that may be in other language. I don't know if anybody speaks
any other languages. In Urdu, like that. Is there anything like that? Anybody who speaks other
languages? But the Arabs will say you say that you talk to them and say, you know, can you come to
the program tonight? Well, Llahi I think I can come.

00:16:47 --> 00:16:51
			But what Allah he means by Allah. It's an oath.

00:16:53 --> 00:16:57
			You might be in a courtroom. And the judge is saying, say, well, law, he,

00:16:59 --> 00:17:06
			it's an oath. So you shouldn't be using these type of terms. Okay, swearing by Allah.

00:17:07 --> 00:17:33
			But that's not usually our problem. Our problem is just bad words, swear words. And swear words have
come into regular language. There are some terms even said on television, and people use them. They
swear, when I was growing up here in North America, that was a swear word. And I'm not going to go
into some of the descriptions of what they are.

00:17:34 --> 00:17:36
			But they're using it like normal talk.

00:17:37 --> 00:17:38
			So as a Muslim,

00:17:39 --> 00:17:43
			we have to be able to guard our tongues.

00:17:44 --> 00:17:59
			We have to guard our tongues. If you get a job and you work for the government, they'll start to say
like you got to be politically correct. And you need to now use different words when you're dealing
with people, for a Muslim.

00:18:00 --> 00:18:03
			We have we need to gain control over our tongues

00:18:04 --> 00:18:06
			to somehow gain control.

00:18:07 --> 00:18:09
			Because this is really important.

00:18:10 --> 00:18:25
			And one time the prophets of salaam was asked, What is the main reason why people will enter
paradise and he said Taqwa LA has no hook. He said it is the consciousness of Allah and Good
character.

00:18:27 --> 00:18:37
			That's the main reason why people will enter paradise. And he was asked, What is the main reason why
people went to hellfire. And he said, I'll femoral Farage. And that is the mouth

00:18:38 --> 00:18:53
			and the private parts. Okay, that's the tongue. That's how dangerous it is. Okay, and Ramadan is a
good time. It's a good time to now, think about the things that we are saying. Don't just talk to
talk.

00:18:55 --> 00:18:56
			And actually, it's better

00:18:57 --> 00:19:00
			that we're a little bit more silent

00:19:01 --> 00:19:18
			when we're fasting, because silence Muslims tend to be and it's not like making salata pagans are
kept by Muslims tend to be a little bit more quiet. Some cultures. I know in Canadian culture now
and North American. Usually everybody's talking.

00:19:19 --> 00:19:33
			If you go into a room, where people are meeting just before the meeting of the having lunch, and say
there's 50 people in that room. I don't know if you've experienced this. You're just outside the
door and it's like 50 people talking at once.

00:19:35 --> 00:19:46
			Everybody is talking. But the Prophet SAW Salem he was very guarded in the speech. He would you
would sometimes be with him. And he wouldn't really be saying anything.

00:19:48 --> 00:19:56
			Now for some people, if the person next to them doesn't talk, you start to feel like nervous, right?
Because they're not talking.

00:19:57 --> 00:20:00
			But he was silent a lot and

00:20:00 --> 00:20:04
			And when he did talk, he said things that had meaning to them.

00:20:05 --> 00:20:09
			So he's guarding the words coming out of his mouth.

00:20:10 --> 00:20:11
			That's part of the fest.

00:20:12 --> 00:20:17
			And that's something that that we need to consider. Also the tongue.

00:20:18 --> 00:20:27
			There's a lot of things like the backbiting the scandal. You know, so many things can come out of
out of the mouth that you can regret.

00:20:28 --> 00:20:36
			So fasting now will help us. It has helped, it'll help us to gain control over our tongues.

00:20:37 --> 00:20:52
			Okay, I want to open up the floor for any general questions you may have concerning, because, again,
this is a forum. And just as everybody's still awake, right, we're at the end of the fast if you
have any questions, or anything like that, yeah.

00:20:55 --> 00:20:56
			With the live video,

00:20:58 --> 00:21:08
			okay, the question is, Is it is it permissible to do tarraleah with the live stream that comes, you
know, from the masjid,

00:21:09 --> 00:21:12
			basically speaking, in the prayer itself,

00:21:13 --> 00:21:17
			you're supposed to be connected to the line in some way.

00:21:18 --> 00:21:22
			And, you know, literally, we're not supposed to be praying in front of the Imam.

00:21:23 --> 00:21:27
			So when you're online, you could be anywhere, right?

00:21:28 --> 00:21:46
			So, so therefore, you're not really connected, you know, to the line, there are some people who are,
you know, unable, they may be handicapped, and they may be unable to come. And they can follow, you
know, listening to it. But it's not actually a prayer in the sense that you're in the same stuff.

00:21:47 --> 00:22:03
			It's not actually the same. Some scholars may take it easy, you know, on people, but to be honest
with you, if you're not connected, you know, to the line in some way, then really, it's not, it's
not actually, you're not getting, but you can still benefit from the camera.

00:22:04 --> 00:22:09
			You can listen to, you know, to the camera. And you could even follow along with a translation

00:22:10 --> 00:22:20
			and then benefit like that. But but to get the prayer, you need to actually be somewhere in the
facility connected somehow, you know, with the light.

00:22:21 --> 00:22:30
			Okay, floor is open for any questions concerning the fast this is someone who was, right, this is
the fast of the special ones.

00:22:31 --> 00:22:31
			Okay.

00:22:33 --> 00:22:39
			Yeah. You mentioned in the lecture on Friday, or yesterday that even watching things like that one
can be

00:22:41 --> 00:22:42
			Formula One.

00:22:44 --> 00:22:45
			Day Formula One is like racing right?

00:22:46 --> 00:22:52
			Here they were, they haven't tried to call this Indianapolis. You know, that's the famous one here,
right.

00:22:53 --> 00:22:59
			But here's the formula. I lived in Bahrain for a year. So that's Formula One was one of the biggest
things in the country, right.

00:23:02 --> 00:23:11
			Watching Formula One itself is not necessarily wrong. What I was saying is that it's a contradiction
when people are starving to death in Palestine.

00:23:13 --> 00:23:21
			And you know, people are under the gun and people are enjoying, you know, Formula One and rooting
for this driver was probably not a Muslim anyway.

00:23:22 --> 00:23:29
			And the cheering for them and so excited. This is a contradiction to do this. It's like a tow it
becomes a total waste of time.

00:23:31 --> 00:23:40
			You know, so but not the actual act of watching, you know, race cars or hosting because most of them
do have, we have horse racing and things like that amongst ourselves

00:23:41 --> 00:23:48
			in all of our cultures, of course, without Betting on you know, who's who's going to win the race.
Now,

00:23:49 --> 00:23:55
			another aspect of this level of fasting is your hands should be faster.

00:23:56 --> 00:23:58
			How can your hands fast?

00:24:00 --> 00:24:03
			Think about this. Can anybody think of any ways your hands could fast?

00:24:06 --> 00:24:07
			Was that

00:24:08 --> 00:24:14
			right? So not striking people hurting people with your hands? Right?

00:24:16 --> 00:24:17
			That's one way.

00:24:18 --> 00:24:21
			Another way and the other thing is of what you can do with your hands.

00:24:22 --> 00:24:27
			Right? Right. I solve it not stealing right? This is your hands.

00:24:28 --> 00:24:33
			Okay. You can also say that a person who is a shopkeeper

00:24:34 --> 00:24:36
			would not raise the prices

00:24:38 --> 00:24:48
			are not cheap. The people who are coming in the store. I mean, I don't know I see in many places why
and I even had to say one time. Why are dates so expensive and Ramadan men?

00:24:49 --> 00:24:58
			Outside of Ramadan the dates are cheap and Ramadan comes suddenly they're like pieces of gold. Why?
Because you know that they need the date.

00:24:59 --> 00:24:59
			That's wrong.

00:25:01 --> 00:25:03
			We should actually be lowering the prices in Ramadan.

00:25:04 --> 00:25:19
			So anything the hands can do, that's causing harm. That's part of our fast, you see that level of
that's a different level of fasting now, right? Your whole body is involved in this.

00:25:21 --> 00:25:33
			The next level of fasting is some Housel hawas. And that is the special of the special. This is the
highest form of the fast.

00:25:34 --> 00:25:36
			And that is when your heart is fasting.

00:25:38 --> 00:25:39
			When your heart is fasting,

00:25:40 --> 00:25:57
			how can your heart fast I mean, number one, people generally think the heart is only that lump of
flesh that's pumping the blood in you, and that is the physical form. But the heart itself is
something else. It's like your conscience.

00:25:58 --> 00:26:01
			It's the gateway to the soul.

00:26:02 --> 00:26:03
			This is your heart.

00:26:04 --> 00:26:12
			And this is really important. And the Prophet saw them, on one occasion said to his companions, when
they were lining up, he said, stand shoulder to shoulder.

00:26:13 --> 00:26:15
			So your hearts will not be divided.

00:26:16 --> 00:26:20
			What did he mean by that? You see, not just a physical thing.

00:26:22 --> 00:26:24
			It's like your inner being.

00:26:25 --> 00:26:26
			This is your heart.

00:26:27 --> 00:26:37
			And that heart is so important. It's your emotions are involved in this. And your heart there is IQ
and EQ.

00:26:38 --> 00:26:57
			There is your intellectual abilities, but they're also your emotional. So some people have a high
IQ. But emotionally, they're like stones, they're rocks, they have no, they can't relate to people
emotionally. They can only do mathematical formulas.

00:26:58 --> 00:27:14
			You see, so the heart really is making a lot of our decisions. Scholars are even saying saying now,
even physical doctors are saying that the heart actually influences your brain. Many of the
decisions that we are making

00:27:15 --> 00:27:16
			come from your heart.

00:27:18 --> 00:27:34
			And one time when a man came to the province of Solomon said, give me some advice. He said is stuck
to your call book. Ask your heart. See what he said. So that's not just the heart pumping blood,
right? He said, Ask your heart.

00:27:35 --> 00:27:40
			What is your heart saying to your conscience? Right? What is your conscience saying to you?

00:27:42 --> 00:27:45
			So that higher level, the special the special,

00:27:47 --> 00:27:54
			that conscience that inner part of the inner being of the individual is involved in a fast

00:27:55 --> 00:27:59
			it has its own level of fasting. And there's many ways to look at this.

00:28:00 --> 00:28:10
			A few of the points would be we have to fast from El Kebir. to Cabo and that is pride and arrogance,

00:28:12 --> 00:28:20
			pride and arrogance, and to whether we're proud of our families, we're proud of our language. We're
proud of our color.

00:28:21 --> 00:28:29
			We're proud of our passport, whatever it is, that makes you proud you think you're better than
somebody else.

00:28:31 --> 00:28:45
			We need to start to think to think about this. Because look at us as human beings you think you're
strong and this and that look after ASA look how you feel now, right? That's you imagine if for the
next two or three days you couldn't eat or drink?

00:28:47 --> 00:28:48
			Okay, that's how weak we actually are.

00:28:50 --> 00:29:00
			So pride, why are we proud of different things? What makes me think I'm better. And I'm not talking
about self esteem.

00:29:02 --> 00:29:36
			Because you should have self esteem. You should respect your family, respect your language. Respect
yourself. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about whether it becomes like arrogance. Right
when the person feels that they are a higher level, probably the worst form of this one of the worst
forms of this that's coming we're seeing what's happening in Palestine and in Gaza, this apartheid
mentality right. And some people will say well, why is the extreme Indian government you know,
supporting

00:29:38 --> 00:29:41
			what is happening in Palestine, the occupying power. Why?

00:29:42 --> 00:29:46
			Because in their ancient system is the caste system.

00:29:47 --> 00:29:58
			That was one of the original apartheid systems, where you're Brahmins at the highest level. And the
word for caste in the ancient language was Varna.

00:30:00 --> 00:30:04
			And Vajrayana one of the shades of meaning and Varna is color.

00:30:05 --> 00:30:21
			So, literally, if you look at the cast from the Brahmins, who they say came from parts of Europe or
Central Asia and they came into the Indian subcontinent, the Brahmins would tend to be lighter
complexion.

00:30:23 --> 00:30:29
			Okay, and then you have different stages to reach the Shudra you reach the untouchable people

00:30:30 --> 00:30:32
			and this form the caste system.

00:30:33 --> 00:30:48
			And this system is bad, right? It is really bad. You think racism is bad, when that system was
Alhamdulillah the present government there in India, we have to be honest, they have banned it,
right. It's not official part of the society.

00:30:49 --> 00:30:51
			Okay, but the mentality can still be there.

00:30:52 --> 00:30:57
			And it used to be so bad that if you are a high class person,

00:30:58 --> 00:31:01
			if you are of this Brahmin caste,

00:31:03 --> 00:31:06
			if the untouchable person comes into your room,

00:31:08 --> 00:31:09
			you have to clean the whole room.

00:31:10 --> 00:31:12
			Because he made the room filthy.

00:31:14 --> 00:31:16
			See what level of racism that is.

00:31:17 --> 00:31:24
			Okay, so that apartheid is not a new thing. But it's being carried out in Palestine is not new.

00:31:25 --> 00:31:29
			The difference is, it's it's being carried out in real time.

00:31:30 --> 00:31:33
			That we're actually watching it and seeing the wicked evil

00:31:35 --> 00:31:40
			here that is happening to the people who are suffering. So we all of us have forms of pride.

00:31:41 --> 00:32:11
			And we have to try to deal with it in this month of Ramadan. Okay, that's to your inner self now.
That's, that's your heart. Right? Try to deal with that. Any questions on this? Any comments or
anything? Anybody else floor was open for the caste system part of the religion or is a part of the
country. You know, it is because the religion, the Hindu religion wasn't just a set of principles.
It's a lifestyle.

00:32:13 --> 00:32:20
			That's why Hinduism takes in a lot of different forms of belief. You even have some within Hinduism
believe in one God.

00:32:21 --> 00:32:33
			There's a lot of different groups within it. So it was part of like a lifestyle that was there,
which actually Dean is not is a way of life. So it was it was it is

00:32:35 --> 00:32:37
			a way of life. That's what it's supposed to be.

00:32:38 --> 00:32:38
			Okay.

00:32:40 --> 00:32:54
			So the next one, which is an obvious one is jealousy Passat. And that is when we're jealous, and
we're generally jealous of physical things. We're jealous that somebody made some progress in life.

00:32:55 --> 00:32:57
			Right? We're jealous, they have a new baby.

00:32:59 --> 00:33:13
			Whatever it is, that will make you jealous about another person. If you see that person has nice new
clothes on or they graduated from the university, they have a degree, then you should say
Alhamdulillah for that person.

00:33:15 --> 00:33:21
			Right, that person has been blessed. But that doesn't harm you. But hazard is

00:33:22 --> 00:33:24
			when you hate the fact that they got that degree.

00:33:26 --> 00:33:30
			It's a corrosive, corrosive. It's like acid.

00:33:31 --> 00:33:44
			And the Prophet SAW Selim said Jaco will Hassan for in Al Hasakah Yeah, cool has unnati comma taco
nada Hutto. He said, Beware of jealousy. It will eat up your good deeds.

00:33:45 --> 00:33:48
			Like a fire eats up firewood.

00:33:49 --> 00:33:51
			So you've you're all you're fasting in Ramadan,

00:33:52 --> 00:34:24
			see all the blessings and you start to be jealous of another person. It's like taking a match and
putting it in a dry field burning up all your good deeds through jealousy. So we have to deal with
this. We have to deal with the fact that if somebody has more materials than us that's the test.
It's not necessarily a blessing because you'll see many countries are we're continue post that
screen I think that that light, see if we can pull that a little bit.

00:34:25 --> 00:34:30
			There also light doesn't come so hard. If you want to move you you're okay with the light.

00:34:31 --> 00:34:32
			Alright.

00:34:34 --> 00:34:35
			So

00:34:36 --> 00:34:38
			Jealousy is a dangerous thing.

00:34:39 --> 00:34:42
			Okay, that's better. Jealousy is a dangerous thing, right?

00:34:44 --> 00:34:46
			Jealousy causes split in the family.

00:34:48 --> 00:34:58
			Okay, even in the first in the first human being and his children Cain and Abel. Habiba. Kaabil 110
killed killed Abel like he's jealous of him.

00:34:59 --> 00:34:59
			He was

00:35:00 --> 00:35:02
			Unless of his brother, so he killed him.

00:35:04 --> 00:35:19
			Okay, so how sad is is an evil thing which can come into us and we got to struggle with it. And how
was it? How was that level is not just dealing with food and drink now remember we, you're past the
food and drink now

00:35:20 --> 00:35:22
			you're actually thinking about

00:35:24 --> 00:35:27
			higher levels. Right and the jealousy

00:35:29 --> 00:35:35
			and any comments on this, this hustle this jealous. Jealousy is envy and jealousy.

00:35:36 --> 00:35:39
			Anything online that that has come so far questions online.

00:35:43 --> 00:35:46
			And also, self conceit,

00:35:47 --> 00:36:01
			thinking that my way is the best way and to be conceited. You know, that is also a dangerous thing.
And you'll see that the Prophet SAW Selim, when they had special when they were under attack.

00:36:02 --> 00:36:07
			When they had crisis, he would call his companions to the masjid.

00:36:08 --> 00:36:11
			And they would come to the mosque. And he would take shorter

00:36:13 --> 00:36:33
			he will take mutual consultation. Now, this is a man who is the best of humanity, Angel Jibreel is
coming to him all the time. Why would you be taking advice of somebody else? Think about this. Why?
Why do you need advice. He's showing us that he's a human being.

00:36:34 --> 00:36:36
			And on one occasion,

00:36:37 --> 00:36:38
			when

00:36:39 --> 00:36:41
			they were facing

00:36:43 --> 00:36:51
			the enemies, a large enemy force and the Battle of better the Quraysh had come. And Muslims were a
small force.

00:36:52 --> 00:37:00
			Okay, and the Prophet SAW seldom, there was like three wells. And the Prophet camped in the northern
part two places in the south.

00:37:01 --> 00:37:08
			And so one of the companions came to him and said, Are you doing this move because of Revelation?

00:37:09 --> 00:37:11
			Or because of your own intelligence?

00:37:13 --> 00:37:17
			He said, No, it's my move. So it's okay, I have an idea.

00:37:18 --> 00:37:22
			Let's cap down in front of the wealth.

00:37:23 --> 00:37:28
			Okay, and you fill the two wells, and there's only one well left,

00:37:29 --> 00:37:45
			right, which isn't in back of us, or else we can eat or better still fills the two wells, and then
we will be there and a good well was the water is in back of us. Okay. That's a strategy, right?
It's a strategy accepted that.

00:37:47 --> 00:37:54
			So it's a strategy. So it's not about conceit, if he was conceded, he said, No, I made my decision.

00:37:55 --> 00:37:56
			Finished.

00:37:57 --> 00:37:58
			It's got to be my way.

00:38:00 --> 00:38:07
			So we have to now again, if we're listening more, instead of you know, talking all the time,

00:38:08 --> 00:38:11
			then we can hear some of the wisdom coming

00:38:12 --> 00:38:14
			to us, even from the youth wisdom coming from them.

00:38:16 --> 00:38:23
			Okay, and the next one is reduc. This is anger, uncontrolled emotion.

00:38:25 --> 00:38:27
			Okay, and this now is very important.

00:38:28 --> 00:38:30
			Especially this time of day.

00:38:32 --> 00:38:43
			And some individuals not everybody, but some individuals especially it happens amongst the males,
two brothers, especially after ASA, when they're hungry, hungry, they're like angry lions.

00:38:44 --> 00:38:55
			You say one thing and they did like jittery right? Some people get jittery, right? This will happen
with sisters too, right? You see it happen to jitteriness, right? Because you're hungry, right?

00:38:57 --> 00:39:12
			Okay, so control the emotions, control. And even if somebody comes to you and starts arguing with
you and fighting with you stop and say in the saw him, I'm fasting.

00:39:13 --> 00:39:22
			Don't involve yourself in the argument. Don't involve yourself in the fight. You see. So the higher
level person

00:39:23 --> 00:39:34
			there was some Kawasaki was then is dealing with anger with emotion. And that means that emotion

00:39:35 --> 00:39:42
			you can have too much emotion. Right? That's the uncontrolled anger. But you can have too little
emotion.

00:39:43 --> 00:39:59
			What is too little emotion, you will see people for instance, you know, Palestine is coming in front
of us. But there's other cases the Sudan is in a real crisis now and other places but you see people
suffering and you don't feel any emotions. There's no emotion.

00:40:00 --> 00:40:02
			That person needs more emotion.

00:40:03 --> 00:40:04
			See, they don't have enough.

00:40:05 --> 00:40:08
			So what we need is a type of balanced emotion.

00:40:10 --> 00:40:21
			Okay, so this is what some colossal KAWASE is looking for. Okay floor is open for any questions are
anything anybody has any points floor is open.

00:40:24 --> 00:40:29
			And one of the diseases of the heart and you could say that these are some of the diseases of your
heart.

00:40:31 --> 00:40:42
			Okay, it's just like the body has certain diseases. Your heart also has diseases. And one of the
diseases which is a really serious one, it's a deep study.

00:40:43 --> 00:40:50
			And if you can ever get the works of Imam Al Ghazali or Hibben Kodama and these people, it is a
thing called hurrah,

00:40:52 --> 00:40:55
			and Hora is delusion.

00:40:57 --> 00:41:00
			This also happens to some people's conscious

00:41:01 --> 00:41:14
			and the hero and Allah told us we're Malhotra dunya Illa Mata on Guru, the life of this world is
nothing but material deception, so long as the type of deception

00:41:17 --> 00:41:24
			that's something that the higher level has to deal with. For instance, you have some people who say,
Well,

00:41:25 --> 00:41:28
			my good deeds will outweigh my bad deeds.

00:41:29 --> 00:41:36
			Okay, so they say well, you know, I will ask Allah to forgive me 100 times in the morning

00:41:37 --> 00:41:56
			or I will do a special deed in Ramadan. And they start counting their deeds right. You know, like
the Night of Power. It says Leila, Takada fireman, Elfi Shah, that has a night of power, we're going
to discuss this, you get blessings better than 1000 months.

00:41:58 --> 00:42:00
			So some people stuck they get their calculators out, right.

00:42:02 --> 00:42:08
			They say 1000 months. And I remember going to is not to come down on the people but maybe I
shouldn't say the country.

00:42:10 --> 00:42:14
			But one country that's really into computers and honest like that. So then

00:42:16 --> 00:42:19
			the people went to the masjid on Leila Takata.

00:42:21 --> 00:42:21
			Special time

00:42:23 --> 00:42:29
			they went to 27th date. And it could be elders, but 27 is more likely, because that's when the Quran
was first revealed.

00:42:30 --> 00:42:36
			Okay, so they went there. 1000 months, praying in the masjid is 27 times.

00:42:37 --> 00:42:47
			Okay, so 27 times 1000 months, they're doing the calculations right. Now they did in this mosque
they did 100 rockets.

00:42:49 --> 00:42:51
			100. See, they do 20 Here.

00:42:53 --> 00:42:57
			They did 100 records. The mom must have been like,

00:42:58 --> 00:43:05
			you know, real express the express a lot, right? They did 100 rockets, do the math.

00:43:06 --> 00:43:16
			100 rockets. 10 Elfi Sha 27. And then he finished and they said, slowly come. I'll see you next
year.

00:43:17 --> 00:43:19
			I don't need to pray for the rest of the year.

00:43:20 --> 00:43:24
			Look at my do the math. Do I have to make solid?

00:43:25 --> 00:43:34
			I got enough to last it will go five solid 360 Whatever. They did the math that is Cotto.

00:43:36 --> 00:43:38
			That's what deception is they're being deceived.

00:43:40 --> 00:43:43
			See, some people are deceived by their families.

00:43:45 --> 00:43:47
			They say Oh, my father was a great scholar.

00:43:49 --> 00:44:06
			So I don't have to study. Because my father studies all the books that he has in his bookcase. I
don't have to study. See what my mother, you know, was a great scholar she used to give so much. So
why do I have to give our families known as giveth. That's deception.

00:44:08 --> 00:44:12
			You see that squirrel? See the delusion. They're deluded

00:44:14 --> 00:44:19
			by the fact of their family. Because you're not going to be judged by your family.

00:44:20 --> 00:44:25
			You're going to be judged by yourself the actual actions that you do.

00:44:26 --> 00:44:28
			And so hurrah is a dangerous thing.

00:44:29 --> 00:44:42
			And it can come to many different types of people. This this study, this is an amazing study, we
need to see this word or can actually come to scholars. There's somebody who is teaching.

00:44:44 --> 00:44:45
			He's teaching piety.

00:44:47 --> 00:44:48
			But he doesn't do it himself.

00:44:49 --> 00:44:58
			He teaches people to pray and fast and all these things, but he doesn't do it himself. Right. He
just teaches that he's deceived.

00:44:59 --> 00:44:59
			Is deceit

00:45:00 --> 00:45:05
			If he's in a state of an illusion, right? He's deceived that squirrel.

00:45:06 --> 00:45:08
			Okay, the hurrah

00:45:09 --> 00:45:50
			comes even with wealthy people, a person who gives their wealth but sometimes the person gives, you
know, for purposes of to show off. And that is another disease that one is called Riyadh, right?
That is doing acts of worship, in order to please people, it's reality. So that person is being
deceived. The fact that they gave that wealth, they think they're getting all these blessings. But
actually, it's working against them. Because they're showing off by that you see. So this is a form
of deception that people find themselves in.

00:45:51 --> 00:46:05
			So this is the level of some colossal hawas. And we all need to strive in the best way we can to
reach this highest standard within our Islam. Any questions on this song colossal KAWASE?

00:46:07 --> 00:46:12
			anything online? They're, they're all sleeping to after us writing.

00:46:13 --> 00:46:18
			Okay, floor is open for any general questions. We're coming to the end of our fest,

00:46:20 --> 00:46:24
			like, ourselves deluded, but what else isn't

00:46:26 --> 00:46:27
			being received like?

00:46:29 --> 00:46:44
			Well, you know, it is important to help them to see, you know, not really necessarily to cut into
them, but you can show them the example of another person and how that person is deceived. So they
might think, Okay, well, maybe that's me to

00:46:45 --> 00:46:54
			you, but it's better not to directly criticize, you know, that they might get offended by that, or
whatever. But if you have that kind of relationship,

00:46:55 --> 00:47:04
			you can, but this is important, and some people are deceived. And I mentioned, I may have mentioned
in the class before, by their families, you have a group of people who are called Say it,

00:47:05 --> 00:47:06
			or they're called Sharif.

00:47:07 --> 00:47:15
			And this means, you know, descendants of Prophet Muhammad SAW on Sunday, because his son Hussein and
her son,

00:47:16 --> 00:47:32
			you know, they have children, Hassan, especially your son Hassan, had, you know, got married a lot
of times he had like 21 sons, you know, so he had a lot of children. So there has Sania their
family. So in some cultures, they call themselves say it.

00:47:33 --> 00:47:40
			Okay, does anybody you heard this before say it Sharif's? Right. But some people think because
they've Sharif.

00:47:41 --> 00:47:44
			They like to be worshipped, they can do anything.

00:47:45 --> 00:47:46
			Because they Sharif.

00:47:47 --> 00:48:00
			They are being deceived. Why? Because the uncle of the Prophet SAW Salem. His name was Abu Lahab is
his uncle. He was Hashimi. He was from the prophetic family.

00:48:02 --> 00:48:04
			But he's burning in *.

00:48:05 --> 00:48:07
			Even though he has Quraysh blood.

00:48:09 --> 00:48:11
			You see, that's a deception.

00:48:13 --> 00:48:30
			Okay, and we found out some people even check their lineages. And as I was saying before, on one
case, to say it's moved from Mecca, Medina, to Iraq to Syria, and even spread out to different parts
of the Muslim world.

00:48:31 --> 00:48:34
			Okay, and some cases they were known some cases they're not known.

00:48:35 --> 00:48:51
			Okay, but one person checked their lineage. And they said, you know, I'm supposed to be assayed but
when he checked his history, he found that he his people, number generations before were originally
Hindus, and they embraced Islam.

00:48:52 --> 00:48:54
			So he was not from Kadesh.

00:48:55 --> 00:48:57
			But a say it came to the village

00:48:59 --> 00:49:03
			and buried in the village. So he said everybody in the village as I say it,

00:49:04 --> 00:49:13
			so anyone who came from that village, took the this name say it, but actually, they didn't have a
family tree. And I remember when I was in Medina as a student,

00:49:14 --> 00:49:29
			one of the sides you know, I was introduced to him and he was interested because he wanted to he
wanted to meet at American right I'm Ricky. This is a strange thing and Medina right. So he took me
over his house. Really nice brother check.

00:49:30 --> 00:49:37
			So he took me over his house and he had this big Compendium book, and it had his family tree.

00:49:38 --> 00:49:40
			And he literally showed

00:49:41 --> 00:49:46
			the descendants all the way from the Prophet Sal seldom to himself.

00:49:47 --> 00:49:49
			Okay, it is like a family tree.

00:49:51 --> 00:49:55
			And they live the money now, a historian might say to you look at that book can be allied to right.

00:49:57 --> 00:50:00
			But his family basically lived in the area of muddy

00:50:00 --> 00:50:00
			You know

00:50:01 --> 00:50:02
			that's where they lived all the time.

00:50:04 --> 00:50:07
			So he could say that he's you know a say it

00:50:09 --> 00:50:15
			but don't be fooled by this Don't be fooled by the fact that you came from a country where there's a
lot of Muslims

00:50:16 --> 00:50:24
			that's not necessarily a trip to paradise. That is the wrong concept that is what is called the
chosen people concept.

00:50:25 --> 00:50:39
			That's a dangerous concept as we can see what's happening in the world today. So floor is open for
any general questions do we have if we have cups or anything you know as we get close because how
much time we have left?

00:50:41 --> 00:50:41
			Yeah

00:50:48 --> 00:50:48
			yeah.

00:50:51 --> 00:50:55
			So we'll look online and see is there any questions there?

00:50:57 --> 00:51:12
			Okay, so we will be ending you know, this pot, you know of our session online. And we will continue
and may Allah accept your fasting and your prayers and, you know, accept all of us in this month of
Ramadan Rocco Dhawan hamdu Lillahi Rabbil Alameen
