00:02:38 --> 00:02:41
			We're going through Surah Bani Israel or Surah

00:02:41 --> 00:02:41
			Al-Isra.

00:02:41 --> 00:02:43
			And inshallah today we're going to start from

00:02:43 --> 00:02:44
			ayah number two.

00:02:44 --> 00:02:47
			Last week we discussed the first ayah of

00:02:47 --> 00:02:49
			Surah Bani Israel in which the mi'raj

00:02:49 --> 00:02:54
			was discussed and the story of the Prophet

00:02:54 --> 00:02:57
			ﷺ going from Mecca to Jerusalem and then

00:02:57 --> 00:02:58
			from there to meet Allah SWT.

00:02:59 --> 00:03:00
			That was discussed in detail.

00:03:00 --> 00:03:04
			Today we're going to be talking about something

00:03:04 --> 00:03:04
			very interesting.

00:03:05 --> 00:03:11
			And firstly Allah SWT starts off by turning

00:03:11 --> 00:03:13
			the conversation towards Musa AS.

00:03:14 --> 00:03:15
			Why Musa AS?

00:03:16 --> 00:03:19
			Because in the first ayah Allah SWT talked

00:03:19 --> 00:03:22
			about our beloved Prophet Muhammad SWT going up

00:03:22 --> 00:03:24
			to the heavens and talking to Allah SWT.

00:03:24 --> 00:03:27
			Similar in nature was Musa AS who was

00:03:27 --> 00:03:30
			also Kalimullah, who talked to Allah SWT directly.

00:03:31 --> 00:03:32
			He was known as Kalimullah.

00:03:32 --> 00:03:40
			So to talk about the next Kalimullah after

00:03:40 --> 00:03:42
			the Prophet AS seemed appropriate.

00:03:43 --> 00:03:45
			And then after discussing Musa AS, Allah SWT

00:03:45 --> 00:03:51
			discusses the destruction of Bani Israel and the

00:03:51 --> 00:03:54
			temples of Bani Israel, the great temples, which

00:03:54 --> 00:03:56
			is a very hot issue in this day

00:03:56 --> 00:03:56
			and age.

00:03:57 --> 00:03:59
			So we need to be familiar with some

00:03:59 --> 00:04:02
			of the history related to the temples and

00:04:02 --> 00:04:07
			how Allah SWT foretold the Bani Israel, what

00:04:07 --> 00:04:10
			was going to happen to the temples twice.

00:04:10 --> 00:04:12
			And this was told in the Quran and

00:04:12 --> 00:04:13
			it actually happened.

00:04:14 --> 00:04:17
			So we'll discuss these things inshallah as we

00:04:17 --> 00:04:18
			go along, the historic aspect of it.

00:04:18 --> 00:04:29
			So firstly Allah SWT says, We

00:04:29 --> 00:04:32
			gave Musa AS the book, meaning the guidance,

00:04:32 --> 00:04:35
			the Torah, and we made that book a

00:04:35 --> 00:04:39
			guidance for Bani Israel, for the children of

00:04:39 --> 00:04:46
			Israel, and the guidance inside it was That

00:04:46 --> 00:04:48
			don't take other than me, someone as a

00:04:48 --> 00:04:49
			wakil.

00:04:49 --> 00:04:52
			Wakil means someone that you trust, someone that

00:04:52 --> 00:04:55
			you turn to, someone that you rely upon.

00:04:55 --> 00:04:56
			This is what wakil means.

00:04:57 --> 00:05:00
			So Allah told Bani Israel that only worship

00:05:00 --> 00:05:03
			me and me alone, no idolatry, nothing of

00:05:03 --> 00:05:04
			that nature.

00:05:04 --> 00:05:06
			This is what is mentioned in the Torah.

00:05:10 --> 00:05:14
			The Bani Israel were the progeny of those

00:05:14 --> 00:05:17
			people that we had carried with Nuh AS.

00:05:18 --> 00:05:20
			So what happened was, Nuh AS is known

00:05:20 --> 00:05:23
			as Adam Thani, the second Adam.

00:05:24 --> 00:05:27
			Because basically with the great flood, the humanity

00:05:27 --> 00:05:32
			had been destroyed, and he became, with the

00:05:32 --> 00:05:35
			people that were saved, they became the means

00:05:35 --> 00:05:39
			of the restarting of humanity, and the restarting

00:05:39 --> 00:05:39
			of the human race.

00:05:40 --> 00:05:43
			So he is known as Adam Thani.

00:05:43 --> 00:05:47
			That's why Allah is saying here that the

00:05:47 --> 00:05:50
			Bani Israel were the progeny of those people

00:05:50 --> 00:05:51
			that we carried with Nuh AS.

00:05:54 --> 00:05:58
			Indeed he, meaning Nuh AS, was a very

00:05:58 --> 00:05:59
			grateful servant.

00:06:00 --> 00:06:01
			Servant of Allah SWT.

00:06:02 --> 00:06:05
			It's mentioned in Hadith, Sa'd Ibn Masud RA

00:06:05 --> 00:06:08
			says that Nuh AS is referred to as

00:06:08 --> 00:06:10
			Abdan Shakura in this ayah.

00:06:14 --> 00:06:16
			Whenever he used to eat or drink, he

00:06:16 --> 00:06:17
			used to praise Allah SWT.

00:06:17 --> 00:06:21
			Whenever he used to take one morsel, he

00:06:21 --> 00:06:22
			used to praise Allah SWT.

00:06:24 --> 00:06:26
			Whenever he used to take a sip of

00:06:26 --> 00:06:28
			water, he used to praise Allah SWT.

00:06:29 --> 00:06:40
			It's mentioned also in a Hadith, Allah

00:06:40 --> 00:06:43
			SWT loves about the slave that whenever he

00:06:43 --> 00:06:46
			takes one morsel, one mouthful of food, he

00:06:46 --> 00:06:47
			should praise Allah.

00:06:47 --> 00:06:49
			And whenever he takes any sip of a

00:06:49 --> 00:06:51
			drink of water, he should also praise Allah

00:06:51 --> 00:06:52
			SWT.

00:06:59 --> 00:07:02
			The next ayah, Allah SWT then talks about

00:07:02 --> 00:07:05
			something that Allah had told in the Torah

00:07:05 --> 00:07:06
			that is going to happen.

00:07:07 --> 00:07:10
			Now the strange thing is that if we

00:07:10 --> 00:07:13
			look at the Islamic sources, there is not

00:07:13 --> 00:07:15
			much of an explanation of these verses.

00:07:15 --> 00:07:18
			But if we turn to the Jewish sources

00:07:18 --> 00:07:21
			or historic sources, we get a great detail

00:07:21 --> 00:07:25
			about this whole incident that is mentioned here.

00:07:26 --> 00:07:28
			So, I'm going to translate it a little

00:07:28 --> 00:07:31
			bit first and then I'm going to talk

00:07:31 --> 00:07:33
			about the historic aspect and then come back

00:07:33 --> 00:07:34
			to the verses inshallah.

00:07:35 --> 00:07:44
			Allah SWT says, We had

00:07:44 --> 00:07:48
			judged upon the Bani Israel that you're going

00:07:48 --> 00:07:51
			to make corruption in the earth twice.

00:07:52 --> 00:07:54
			You're going to cause corruption in the earth

00:07:54 --> 00:07:57
			twice and you're going to become very arrogant.

00:07:58 --> 00:08:00
			You're going to make Uloo, meaning you're going

00:08:00 --> 00:08:04
			to be arrogant and disobey Allah SWT in

00:08:04 --> 00:08:05
			a very great way.

00:08:08 --> 00:08:12
			The first time you do that, When the

00:08:12 --> 00:08:21
			first time that happens, The first time that

00:08:21 --> 00:08:23
			you're disobedient to Allah SWT and you cause

00:08:23 --> 00:08:25
			this corruption on the earth, we're going to

00:08:25 --> 00:08:28
			send to you one of our slaves.

00:08:28 --> 00:08:30
			And he's going to be very severe and

00:08:30 --> 00:08:35
			he's going to enter into the midst of

00:08:35 --> 00:08:38
			the houses, meaning to cause bloodshed and kill

00:08:38 --> 00:08:38
			everybody.

00:08:40 --> 00:08:42
			And this is a promise that is going

00:08:42 --> 00:08:43
			to be done.

00:08:44 --> 00:08:49
			So, this is basically the first corruption and

00:08:49 --> 00:08:53
			the first punishment from Allah SWT against the

00:08:53 --> 00:08:53
			Bani Israel.

00:08:54 --> 00:08:57
			That the corruption takes place and then somebody

00:08:57 --> 00:09:00
			comes and he's going to destroy Bani Israel.

00:09:00 --> 00:09:01
			So that's the first one.

00:09:05 --> 00:09:09
			Then we're going to return back the, Al

00:09:09 --> 00:09:10
			-Karra means turn.

00:09:11 --> 00:09:14
			Now Bani Israel, they're going to basically go

00:09:14 --> 00:09:16
			through that very difficult time and then they're

00:09:16 --> 00:09:19
			going to be returned back to their former

00:09:19 --> 00:09:19
			glory.

00:09:20 --> 00:09:22
			And they're going to then have a high

00:09:22 --> 00:09:28
			status, good financial situation, good rulers, piety, turning

00:09:28 --> 00:09:29
			towards Allah SWT again.

00:09:32 --> 00:09:34
			And we're going to help you with wealth

00:09:34 --> 00:09:34
			and children.

00:09:36 --> 00:09:39
			And we're going to make you big in

00:09:39 --> 00:09:40
			population.

00:09:40 --> 00:09:42
			Your population is going to increase.

00:09:42 --> 00:09:47
			So, destruction because of disobedience and then Tawbah

00:09:47 --> 00:09:49
			and turning back to Allah SWT.

00:09:49 --> 00:09:52
			And then Allah returns them back to their

00:09:52 --> 00:09:53
			former glory.

00:09:54 --> 00:09:57
			And then after that, Allah SWT says, If

00:09:57 --> 00:10:03
			you do good, you're doing good for yourselves.

00:10:03 --> 00:10:06
			And if you do bad, then again, you're

00:10:06 --> 00:10:07
			harming yourselves.

00:10:09 --> 00:10:12
			Now the next time, the next disobedience takes

00:10:12 --> 00:10:13
			place.

00:10:19 --> 00:10:22
			Look at the mic, turn the volume down.

00:10:23 --> 00:10:24
			It's just echoing too much.

00:10:30 --> 00:10:33
			When the second promise takes place, meaning the

00:10:33 --> 00:10:35
			second destruction takes place.

00:10:36 --> 00:10:42
			So that your faces will be disgraced.

00:10:44 --> 00:10:46
			And he's going to enter the masjid and

00:10:46 --> 00:10:48
			they're going to enter the masjid, meaning the

00:10:48 --> 00:10:49
			temple.

00:10:51 --> 00:10:53
			Just like they entered it the first time.

00:10:56 --> 00:10:59
			And they're going to destroy everything that is

00:10:59 --> 00:11:01
			on top of it, a very severe form

00:11:01 --> 00:11:02
			of destruction.

00:11:03 --> 00:11:06
			So again, one destruction takes place and then

00:11:06 --> 00:11:09
			the glory of Bani Israel returns.

00:11:09 --> 00:11:12
			And then the second destruction takes place after

00:11:12 --> 00:11:12
			that.

00:11:13 --> 00:11:13
			Why?

00:11:13 --> 00:11:16
			Because they turned away from Allah SWT.

00:11:19 --> 00:11:23
			It is possible that Allah SWT would have

00:11:23 --> 00:11:24
			mercy upon you.

00:11:25 --> 00:11:27
			Meaning if you turn back to Allah SWT,

00:11:27 --> 00:11:28
			you repent.

00:11:28 --> 00:11:29
			Allah SWT is going to be merciful.

00:11:32 --> 00:11:36
			And if you return back to being disobedient,

00:11:36 --> 00:11:39
			Allah SWT is going to respond in like

00:11:39 --> 00:11:40
			that you're going to be punished again.

00:11:42 --> 00:11:46
			وَجَعَلْنَا جَهَنَّمَ لِلْكَافِرِينَ حَصِيرًا And we made Jahannam,

00:11:46 --> 00:11:48
			for the disbelievers, as a hasir.

00:11:48 --> 00:11:51
			Hasir means something that surrounds somebody.

00:11:51 --> 00:11:54
			حَصَر In Urdu we use this word too.

00:11:55 --> 00:11:57
			That it's something that surrounds, you call it

00:11:57 --> 00:11:58
			hasir.

00:11:59 --> 00:12:01
			Okay, so hasir, something that surrounds somebody.

00:12:01 --> 00:12:04
			And according to the Mufasireen, some scholars say

00:12:04 --> 00:12:07
			it means cradle, it means a fort, a

00:12:07 --> 00:12:09
			prison, and so on and so forth.

00:12:09 --> 00:12:12
			But we made Jahannam for the disbelievers as

00:12:12 --> 00:12:15
			a hasir, as something that surrounds them.

00:12:15 --> 00:12:17
			So now, historically what does all this mean?

00:12:19 --> 00:12:24
			After the death of Suleiman AS, Suleiman AS

00:12:24 --> 00:12:27
			left the Bani Israel in a situation where

00:12:27 --> 00:12:29
			they are in the peak of their glory.

00:12:30 --> 00:12:34
			And he built this huge temple which was

00:12:34 --> 00:12:37
			very majestic and very beautiful.

00:12:37 --> 00:12:40
			And we know that according to even Islamic

00:12:40 --> 00:12:43
			history, Suleiman AS used to have the help

00:12:43 --> 00:12:48
			of the jinns to help him construct things

00:12:48 --> 00:12:50
			and to even construct the temple.

00:12:51 --> 00:12:53
			The jinns used to help him and with

00:12:53 --> 00:12:56
			this help and with this assistance, Allah SWT

00:12:56 --> 00:12:59
			enabled him to build a huge majestic temple.

00:12:59 --> 00:13:04
			So when Suleiman AS passed away, the situation

00:13:04 --> 00:13:07
			was that the Bani Israel, the Israelites were

00:13:07 --> 00:13:08
			at the peak of their glory and the

00:13:08 --> 00:13:09
			peak of their history.

00:13:10 --> 00:13:13
			But after he passed away, they started disobeying

00:13:13 --> 00:13:13
			Allah SWT.

00:13:14 --> 00:13:18
			And they started getting into idolatry, worshipping idols.

00:13:18 --> 00:13:21
			And the same temples in which they were

00:13:21 --> 00:13:24
			supposed to be worshipping Allah SWT, they started

00:13:24 --> 00:13:27
			committing na'udhu billah fornication inside them.

00:13:27 --> 00:13:31
			And using them for illicit activities and for

00:13:31 --> 00:13:32
			bad activities.

00:13:34 --> 00:13:38
			So Allah sent to them prophets again and

00:13:38 --> 00:13:38
			again.

00:13:38 --> 00:13:41
			Amongst them was a prophet called Zakariya AS,

00:13:42 --> 00:13:44
			not the Zakariya who was the father of

00:13:44 --> 00:13:48
			Yahya, but a different Zakariya.

00:13:49 --> 00:13:50
			So they killed him also.

00:13:50 --> 00:13:52
			Different prophets came, they kept on killing.

00:13:53 --> 00:13:56
			But particularly about Zakariya, it's mentioned in Jewish

00:13:56 --> 00:14:00
			sources that his blood, basically it fell onto

00:14:00 --> 00:14:02
			the floor of the temple and it continued

00:14:02 --> 00:14:03
			to boil for centuries.

00:14:05 --> 00:14:09
			And while this blood is boiling, you can

00:14:09 --> 00:14:11
			see the blood boiling on the earth, this

00:14:11 --> 00:14:16
			actually the boiling blood is mentioned in a

00:14:16 --> 00:14:19
			riwayah, which I'll mention in a minute.

00:14:20 --> 00:14:24
			So this blood is boiling and Allah SWT

00:14:24 --> 00:14:28
			sends to destroy these people who are causing

00:14:28 --> 00:14:31
			these disturbances and disobeying Allah SWT in such

00:14:31 --> 00:14:32
			a bad way.

00:14:33 --> 00:14:35
			He sends to them somebody called Bukht Nasr,

00:14:36 --> 00:14:38
			who was the king of Babylon.

00:14:38 --> 00:14:41
			Babylon which is today Iraq.

00:14:43 --> 00:14:49
			Bukht Nasr, it's a very long name, I

00:14:49 --> 00:14:51
			can't even remember, but in Arabic it's known

00:14:51 --> 00:14:52
			as Bukht Nasr.

00:14:52 --> 00:14:57
			He came and he basically destroyed the temple.

00:14:58 --> 00:15:00
			He sent his son and his son actually

00:15:00 --> 00:15:02
			saw this boiling blood on the ground.

00:15:02 --> 00:15:03
			He said, what is this boiling blood?

00:15:03 --> 00:15:07
			They said, well we killed this prophet and

00:15:07 --> 00:15:09
			for the last couple of hundred years this

00:15:09 --> 00:15:10
			blood has been boiling.

00:15:11 --> 00:15:14
			So he said that what I'm going to

00:15:14 --> 00:15:17
			do is for the vengeance of this blood,

00:15:17 --> 00:15:20
			I'm going to destroy everybody here.

00:15:20 --> 00:15:24
			So according to Jewish sources, more than a

00:15:24 --> 00:15:27
			million people were killed by this person and

00:15:27 --> 00:15:28
			the temple was burned down.

00:15:28 --> 00:15:32
			After which the blood stopped boiling.

00:15:33 --> 00:15:36
			So this was the first punishment that was

00:15:36 --> 00:15:37
			sent to Bani Israel.

00:15:38 --> 00:15:41
			The temple that was built by Suleiman, it

00:15:41 --> 00:15:42
			was destroyed in a huge fire.

00:15:43 --> 00:15:45
			And after that these people went into exile.

00:15:46 --> 00:15:48
			After a while they made tawbah and turned

00:15:48 --> 00:15:51
			to Allah SWT again and Allah SWT allowed

00:15:51 --> 00:15:52
			them to flourish.

00:15:52 --> 00:15:57
			They became rich and again they started gaining

00:15:57 --> 00:15:59
			some of that same honor and glory that

00:15:59 --> 00:15:59
			they had before.

00:16:01 --> 00:16:05
			And then in the time of Cyrus, who

00:16:05 --> 00:16:07
			was a Roman king, he called them back

00:16:07 --> 00:16:10
			and he told them, he allowed them to

00:16:10 --> 00:16:13
			start rebuilding that temple, which they started to

00:16:13 --> 00:16:13
			do.

00:16:14 --> 00:16:16
			After a few years into building the temple

00:16:16 --> 00:16:17
			he passed away.

00:16:17 --> 00:16:22
			And the son of Cyrus, whose name was

00:16:22 --> 00:16:25
			Cambyses, he became the ruler and he continued

00:16:25 --> 00:16:28
			to allow them to build the temple also.

00:16:29 --> 00:16:32
			After that, after Cambyses came Darius.

00:16:33 --> 00:16:35
			Darius also allowed them to build the temple

00:16:35 --> 00:16:40
			and the temple was completed in 516 BC.

00:16:40 --> 00:16:45
			So it was destroyed initially 586 BC and

00:16:45 --> 00:16:48
			it was then rebuilt 516 BC.

00:16:48 --> 00:16:51
			Because when you come BC you go backwards,

00:16:51 --> 00:16:52
			the numbers, right?

00:16:52 --> 00:16:54
			So the closer you come to Isa AS,

00:16:55 --> 00:16:57
			the numbers become less.

00:16:57 --> 00:17:00
			Because BC means before Christ, before Isa AS.

00:17:01 --> 00:17:04
			So 516 was when the temple was rebuilt.

00:17:04 --> 00:17:07
			586 was when it was destroyed, BC.

00:17:08 --> 00:17:13
			516, basically about 70 years or so later,

00:17:14 --> 00:17:15
			was when it was rebuilt.

00:17:16 --> 00:17:18
			So this was the second building of the

00:17:18 --> 00:17:19
			temple.

00:17:19 --> 00:17:21
			But what happened again?

00:17:22 --> 00:17:24
			They continued, flourished, everything became good.

00:17:34 --> 00:17:42
			Titus was a Roman emperor and was destroyed.

00:17:49 --> 00:17:50
			Roman emperor.

00:17:58 --> 00:17:59
			History of it.

00:20:49 --> 00:20:53
			So Bukhtun Nasr comes and he destroys the

00:20:53 --> 00:20:57
			people, killing a million or so, because of

00:20:57 --> 00:21:00
			their tyranny, because of their disobedience, because of

00:21:00 --> 00:21:02
			their idolatry, which was something that they were

00:21:02 --> 00:21:03
			forbidden to do.

00:21:05 --> 00:21:07
			Allah says, this was a promise that was

00:21:07 --> 00:21:09
			going to take place.

00:21:11 --> 00:21:15
			Then we returned the turn back to them.

00:21:15 --> 00:21:18
			Meaning, they went back to their former glory

00:21:18 --> 00:21:21
			and started making tawbah, starting obeying only Allah

00:21:21 --> 00:21:22
			SWT.

00:21:22 --> 00:21:24
			Allah SWT gave them the same honor again.

00:21:27 --> 00:21:29
			And we helped you with wealth and children.

00:21:32 --> 00:21:34
			And we made you huge in population.

00:21:37 --> 00:21:41
			If you do good, then you're doing good

00:21:41 --> 00:21:41
			for yourself.

00:21:43 --> 00:21:45
			If you do bad, then again, you're only

00:21:45 --> 00:21:46
			harming yourself.

00:21:49 --> 00:21:52
			When the second promise came, the second promise

00:21:52 --> 00:22:00
			of destruction, لِيَسُوءُوا وُجُوهَكُم So that they could

00:22:00 --> 00:22:03
			disgrace the faces, and they could enter the

00:22:03 --> 00:22:07
			masjid as they entered the first time, and

00:22:07 --> 00:22:10
			they destroy everything on it, in a very

00:22:10 --> 00:22:12
			harsh way.

00:22:12 --> 00:22:14
			So this is the second destruction of the

00:22:14 --> 00:22:16
			temple, which was done by the Roman Empire,

00:22:17 --> 00:22:20
			and which was done by Titus in 70

00:22:20 --> 00:22:21
			BC.

00:22:21 --> 00:22:27
			So this was the second destruction, first destruction,

00:22:27 --> 00:22:31
			second destruction, which Allah SWT describes basically to

00:22:31 --> 00:22:33
			the dot, as it occurred historically.

00:22:34 --> 00:22:36
			If you refer to Jewish sources, if you

00:22:36 --> 00:22:39
			refer to historic sources, this is exactly what

00:22:39 --> 00:22:39
			you will get.

00:22:40 --> 00:22:43
			After that Allah SWT says, عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمْ أَن

00:22:43 --> 00:22:46
			يَرْحَمَكُمْ It is very close that Allah SWT

00:22:46 --> 00:22:48
			is going to have mercy upon you.

00:22:48 --> 00:22:52
			وَإِنْ عُدْتُمْ عُدْنَا If you, basically, repent to

00:22:52 --> 00:22:55
			Him, then Allah will accept you and give

00:22:55 --> 00:22:55
			you mercy.

00:22:56 --> 00:22:57
			But if you return back to your old

00:22:57 --> 00:23:00
			ways, عُدْنَا Allah SWT says, I will return

00:23:00 --> 00:23:02
			back too, I will treat you the same

00:23:02 --> 00:23:04
			way, and you will be punished the same

00:23:04 --> 00:23:04
			way.

00:23:05 --> 00:23:09
			وَجَعَلْنَا جَهَنَّمَ لِلْكَافِرِينَ حَسِيرًا And We made the

00:23:09 --> 00:23:12
			Hellfire for the disbelievers as a حسير, as

00:23:12 --> 00:23:13
			a surrounding.

00:23:13 --> 00:23:18
			So, really, this is the history of what

00:23:18 --> 00:23:22
			happened to Bani Israel, the Israelites, prior to

00:23:22 --> 00:23:22
			Islam coming.

00:23:23 --> 00:23:25
			After that, the Romans basically took over.

00:23:26 --> 00:23:28
			Now, this is a very critical thing to

00:23:28 --> 00:23:28
			understand.

00:23:29 --> 00:23:31
			You know, this whole issue of Israel, and

00:23:31 --> 00:23:35
			the creation of Israel, and what the people

00:23:35 --> 00:23:37
			claim that it's supposed to be promised to

00:23:37 --> 00:23:39
			them in the Bible, and so on.

00:23:39 --> 00:23:42
			This is actually, historically, it's completely false.

00:23:42 --> 00:23:45
			After the destruction of the Second Temple, there

00:23:45 --> 00:23:49
			has been no Jewish rule whatsoever until 1948.

00:23:50 --> 00:23:53
			So, for 2000 years, basically, there has been

00:23:53 --> 00:23:56
			no Jewish control of the Holy Land, of

00:23:56 --> 00:23:58
			Palestine, until 1948.

00:23:59 --> 00:24:02
			So, the question is, that if it was

00:24:02 --> 00:24:05
			promised to them in the Bible, why did

00:24:05 --> 00:24:06
			it take 2000 years?

00:24:07 --> 00:24:10
			In the meantime, you had the Romans, or

00:24:10 --> 00:24:11
			the Christians, ruling.

00:24:12 --> 00:24:13
			And then after that, you had the Muslims

00:24:13 --> 00:24:14
			ruling.

00:24:14 --> 00:24:16
			And then the Crusaders came, and they ruled

00:24:16 --> 00:24:17
			for a while, and then the Muslims again.

00:24:18 --> 00:24:20
			And then after that, you had the British

00:24:20 --> 00:24:23
			rule, colonialism, and the destruction of the Ottoman

00:24:23 --> 00:24:24
			Empire.

00:24:25 --> 00:24:27
			And then after that, the formation of Israel.

00:24:27 --> 00:24:31
			So, all this time, over 2000 years, why

00:24:31 --> 00:24:34
			were the Jews in exile?

00:24:34 --> 00:24:38
			And why were they under the rule of

00:24:38 --> 00:24:39
			either Christians or Muslims?

00:24:40 --> 00:24:40
			That's the question.

00:24:43 --> 00:24:46
			So, that's why also, if you look at

00:24:46 --> 00:24:50
			the real Orthodox Jews, that say that we

00:24:50 --> 00:24:53
			live by the Torah, they will actually tell

00:24:53 --> 00:24:58
			you that there is no religious precedent for

00:24:58 --> 00:25:00
			the formation of the country called Israel.

00:25:00 --> 00:25:02
			They do not agree with it, because they

00:25:02 --> 00:25:05
			believe that according to the teachings of the

00:25:05 --> 00:25:07
			Torah, that the Jews are supposed to live

00:25:07 --> 00:25:09
			in exile, they are not supposed to have

00:25:09 --> 00:25:10
			a homeland.

00:25:10 --> 00:25:11
			They are not supposed to have a country

00:25:11 --> 00:25:15
			that is regarded as a Jewish state, because

00:25:15 --> 00:25:17
			of the things that are mentioned here.

00:25:18 --> 00:25:19
			The destruction of the temples and everything.

00:25:19 --> 00:25:23
			After that, there was to be no Jewish

00:25:23 --> 00:25:24
			ruling.

00:25:24 --> 00:25:27
			There is not supposed to be, again, according

00:25:27 --> 00:25:30
			to them, according to the Orthodox Jewish teachings,

00:25:30 --> 00:25:32
			there is not supposed to be a Jewish

00:25:32 --> 00:25:32
			homeland.

00:25:33 --> 00:25:34
			They are supposed to live in exile.

00:25:34 --> 00:25:36
			And even some of the Orthodox Jews that

00:25:36 --> 00:25:40
			do live in Israel, they still believe that

00:25:40 --> 00:25:45
			they are in exile, even though they are

00:25:45 --> 00:25:47
			living under the rule of the Israeli state.

00:25:47 --> 00:25:49
			But they still believe they are in exile,

00:25:49 --> 00:25:53
			but because of the benefits that they get,

00:25:53 --> 00:25:55
			the welfare that they get, the housing that

00:25:55 --> 00:25:58
			they get, etc., that is provided to them

00:25:58 --> 00:26:00
			by the government, they don't say anything.

00:26:00 --> 00:26:01
			They accept it.

00:26:03 --> 00:26:06
			But, if you look at it religiously, and

00:26:06 --> 00:26:09
			also if you look at it historically, the

00:26:09 --> 00:26:12
			formation of Israel, there is no religious foundation

00:26:12 --> 00:26:15
			for it, and there is no ethical or

00:26:15 --> 00:26:20
			logical foundation for the formation of Israel.

00:26:21 --> 00:26:23
			So, this is something that we should be

00:26:23 --> 00:26:24
			aware of.

00:26:24 --> 00:26:28
			Having said that, obviously Israel is there, so

00:26:28 --> 00:26:31
			we would pray that Allah SWT makes it

00:26:31 --> 00:26:34
			easy for the Palestinian people, that they get

00:26:34 --> 00:26:37
			their own homeland, and a two-state solution,

00:26:38 --> 00:26:40
			which is basically what most people want.

00:26:40 --> 00:26:45
			It is formulated in such a way that

00:26:45 --> 00:26:50
			both Palestinians and the Israelis can live side

00:26:50 --> 00:26:50
			by side in peace.

00:26:51 --> 00:26:52
			That is something that we should hope for.

00:26:53 --> 00:26:57
			But, again, historically speaking, religiously speaking, look at

00:26:57 --> 00:27:01
			these verses, and they tell you that after

00:27:01 --> 00:27:03
			this time, there was not supposed to be

00:27:03 --> 00:27:07
			any kind of return of the Jewish people

00:27:07 --> 00:27:09
			to rule the actual land.

00:27:09 --> 00:27:12
			They were exiled, and the destruction of the

00:27:12 --> 00:27:15
			temples took place twice, and then after that,

00:27:16 --> 00:27:18
			there was never a time that they actually

00:27:18 --> 00:27:21
			came back, and they ruled.

00:27:21 --> 00:27:25
			So, however, there is a very small minority

00:27:25 --> 00:27:28
			of people that they say that the temple

00:27:28 --> 00:27:30
			is supposed to be built a third time.

00:27:31 --> 00:27:32
			This is from the Jewish sources.

00:27:33 --> 00:27:35
			Very small minority of people that say that.

00:27:35 --> 00:27:39
			And the third time, according to their understanding,

00:27:40 --> 00:27:42
			where Baytul Muqaddas is right now, and the

00:27:42 --> 00:27:44
			Dome of the Rock stands right now, that's

00:27:44 --> 00:27:48
			where the temple was, and that's where they

00:27:48 --> 00:27:51
			believe the temple is supposed to be resurrected

00:27:51 --> 00:27:51
			again.

00:27:52 --> 00:27:54
			So, again, it's a very, very critical issue.

00:27:55 --> 00:27:56
			It's a very touchy issue.

00:27:56 --> 00:27:59
			It's a very sensitive issue for the Muslims,

00:28:00 --> 00:28:01
			as well as for the Jewish people.

00:28:02 --> 00:28:06
			Now, the Wailing Wall that the Jews actually

00:28:06 --> 00:28:09
			stand next to, and they basically do their

00:28:09 --> 00:28:12
			worship, this is the remnants of the temple

00:28:12 --> 00:28:15
			that was destroyed by the Romans.

00:28:15 --> 00:28:17
			This is the only thing remaining of that

00:28:17 --> 00:28:17
			temple.

00:28:18 --> 00:28:19
			That's why they go to that wall, and

00:28:19 --> 00:28:23
			they worship at that particular wall, in remembrance

00:28:23 --> 00:28:25
			of the destruction of the temple, the only

00:28:25 --> 00:28:27
			part of the temple that still remains.

00:28:27 --> 00:28:30
			So, again, a history lesson for us a

00:28:30 --> 00:28:32
			little bit, and also a little bit of

00:28:32 --> 00:28:38
			the things which are happening over there, as

00:28:38 --> 00:28:39
			related to us in the Quran.

00:28:40 --> 00:28:42
			The history of that, it's very important for

00:28:42 --> 00:28:46
			us to understand, and internalize, and relay that

00:28:46 --> 00:28:48
			to other people, inshallah.

00:28:48 --> 00:28:49
			I pray that Allah SWT gives us the

00:28:49 --> 00:28:51
			ability to understand what has been said and

00:28:51 --> 00:28:51
			heard.

00:29:04 --> 00:29:06
			In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the

00:29:06 --> 00:29:06
			Compassionate.
