Because he is so ashamed to show his
face in public.
So, this was the attitude that they had
towards having daughters.
But at the same time, they were willing
and prepared to attribute daughters to Allah SWT.
So, this was kind of illogical.
It seems illogical on the face of it
that you don't want daughters yourself and you
want daughters for Allah SWT.
It doesn't make sense.
And even if you look at the western
culture, the description of angels, how they are
depicted in modern, if you see movies and
pictures and things of that nature, they are
always displayed in a way that they look
feminine.
So, this is not the case.
Angels are neither masculine nor feminine.
They don't have any gender.
But the main issue here is that the
shirk that the people were committing with Allah
SWT was, in addition to the shirk that
they were committing with the idols, the shirk
that they were committing was also that Allah
SWT has daughters and the angels are his
daughters.
So, Allah SWT addresses that issue.
Did Allah SWT choose for you sons
and he himself, he took from the angels
females?
So, basically Allah SWT is criticizing them.
You want sons for yourself, but when it
comes to Allah SWT, you attribute daughters to
him.
So, the attribution of any children to Allah
SWT is wrong in the first place, but
the ironic thing here is that you don't
want daughters for yourself, but you attribute daughters
to Allah SWT.
So, that doesn't make sense.
Indeed, you are saying
a huge thing.
You are saying something that is very very
big.
And in other place in the Quran, Allah
SWT describes this issue of attributing children to
Allah SWT.
The thing that they
are saying about Allah SWT that they are
attributing children to him, it is something that
the heavens and the earth would basically destroy
themselves at the audacity of making such a
claim.
So, this is how huge this issue was
about attributing children to Allah SWT.
And particularly what the disbelievers of Makkah said,
that he had female children in the form
of the angels.
After that Allah SWT says,
explain to these people who are committing shirk,
Allah says, that we have explained in many
many different ways to in the Qur'an,
people can take heed.
How did Allah SWT explain?
Sometimes by giving examples, sometimes by giving comparisons,
sometimes by giving proofs, sometimes by narrating stories
of the previous nations and the Anbiya' alayhimu
sallatu wa sallam.
Allah SWT brings this again and again in
the Qur'an.
The Mufasireen say that the Qur'an is
basically made up of three things.
It's made up of Aqaid, belief, and Qisas,
meaning stories, and the third thing is Ahkam.
Aqaid, beliefs, and what belief we are supposed
to have about Allah SWT, the angels, the
Hereafter and so on.
The Qisas means the stories of the previous
nations and the previous Anbiya' alayhimu sallatu wa
sallam.
And Ahkam means the orders of Allah SWT
that you should give Zakat, you should perform
Hajj, you should do this, you should not
do that.
These are Ahkam.
So the Qur'an is made up of
these roughly three things.
So what Allah is saying here is, وَلَقَدْ
We explained different
things in the Qur'an so that people
would take heed.
Especially, specifically those people that are attributing daughters
to Allah SWT.
Allah SWT gave many examples in the Qur
'an so that they would take heed.
But it only increased
them in running away, in moving away, in
despising what was being said to them.
So you have...
It keeps cutting off for some reason.
Is somebody doing something?
I think it's overheating or something, I don't
know.
It's okay.
So Allah SWT says in other places in
the Qur'an, يُضِلُّوا بِهِ كَثِيرًا وَيَهْدِي بِهِ
Allah SWT, through the Qur'an itself,
He misguides people.
So basically, many people, they take up the
Qur'an and they would take ayat from
it with an intention to disprove Islam and
to try to claim that there are contradictions.
So those people obviously, despite the fact that
they're reading the Qur'an, despite the fact
that they're reading the Qur'an, يُضِلُّوا بِهِ
Allah SWT misguides them through those same verses.
And many people, they pick up the Qur
'an with the same intention to try to
disprove Islam, but Allah SWT يَهْدِي بِهِ Allah
SWT guides those people to Islam through that.
So it really depends on what a person
wants and what a person is seeking.
If a person is open-minded to the
truth, then Allah SWT guides him.
If not, he can be pushed further and
further away.
So this is what Allah says,
The Kuffar of Quraysh, they didn't
want anything to do with it.
And instead of getting closer to Allah SWT
and getting closer to guidance,
They got further and further away and
hated and despised the Qur'an saying more
and more, the more that they were advised.
Allah SWT addresses them and says,
Allah is telling those people
that commit shirk that if Allah SWT had
gods, if there were gods other than Allah
SWT, then even those gods would seek Allah
SWT and worship Him.
If they were given a life, if they
were given senses, if they had any senses,
they would not want to be worshipped.
They themselves would worship Allah SWT.
Allah is saying here, قُلْ Tell them a
prophet of Allah.
If there were with Him, with Allah SWT,
Aliha, gods, كَمَا يَقُولُونَ As they are saying,
Most certainly they would seek إِلَىٰ
A way to the one
who is on the throne.
Meaning they themselves would try to seek the
one on the throne.
Meaning they would try to seek Allah SWT
themselves.
So why are you worshipping these idols that
if they had a life, they would worship
Allah SWT?
Instead, why don't you just worship Allah SWT
directly?
Allah SWT is pure.
And He is above.
What they are saying about Him.
Very very high and very very
above what they are saying.
So basically Allah SWT makes a declaration that
any claim that is made about Allah SWT,
He has any partners, He has any sons,
that He has any daughters.
Allah SWT is far above and beyond those
kinds of claims.
And those claims cannot be attributed to Allah
SWT.
He is very far away from them.
After that, Allah SWT then He talked about
the issue of the idols if they had
a heaven, a life, they would be worshipping
Allah SWT.
Then related to that, the next ayah says
that everything in the creation, everything in the
heavens and the earth actually praises Allah SWT
and worships Him.
Whatever
is in the heavens and whatever is in
the seven heavens and the earth, whatever is
in them praises Allah SWT.
It makes the tasbih of Allah SWT.
So, we understand the animals and the trees
and anything that has a life, actually there's
two different opinions.
Everything basically, there's one opinion that everything makes
the tasbih of Allah SWT.
Whether it has a ruh or a soul
in it or not.
That's one opinion.
And the other opinion is that only those
creations that have a ruh in it like
animals and humans, they are the ones that
praise Allah SWT.
Other than that, they do not.
So, these are the two opinions there.
So, I'll do the translation and then I'm
going to go through some various hadith which
talk about this issue.
Whatever
is in the heavens, the seven heavens and
the earth, praise Allah SWT.
By Him, pronounces purification.
And whoever is in those heavens
and the earth, praise Allah SWT.
Everything actually makes the tasbih of the
praise of Allah SWT.
But you do not understand.
Oh humans, you do not understand their tasbih.
Indeed, Allah SWT, He
is Halim and He is Ghafoor.
He is forbearing and He is forgiving.
What that means is, that Allah SWT doesn't
punish people immediately for the sins that they
commit.
He lets them go and lets them go
and lets them go.
Which is known in Arabic as استدراج.
Allah says in another
verse in the Quran.
He gives them, He lets them go, lets
them go.
But when the time comes,
Indeed, His punishment is very, very severe at
that particular time.
So, if I think that I'm not being
punished for my sins, maybe Allah is just
giving me استدراج and He's letting me go
for a while.
But when that punishment comes, it's going to
be a huge problem for me.
Okay.
So let's go through certain hadith about this
issue, about things making tasbih of Allah SWT.
Firstly, a riwayat from Ibn Mas'ud r
Ibn Mas'ud r.a. says, that
we used to hear the food making tasbih
while that food was being eaten.
So Allah SWT gave them an insight that
they could actually hear the tasbih of the
food while it's being consumed by the sahaba.
And in a riwayat of Abu Dharr r
.a, the Prophet SAW, he took in his
hand some hasayat.
He took in his hands some pebbles and
the people could hear from those pebbles the
tasbih of Allah SWT just like the buzzing
of bees.
Just like the buzzing of bees,
the pebbles had a kind of sound coming
from them.
So the Prophet SAW told them that this
is their tasbih.
And in a riwayat of Anas r.a,
who narrates from the Prophet SAW, that he
saw upon a people while they were standing,
while they were stationary on their animals.
Okay.
Basically they were standing.
Okay.
Horses, camels, whatever it was, they were standing
on them, not riding, and they were chatting
to each other while they were standing on
those animals.
So what did the Prophet SAW said?
Ride them
in a good way and leave them in
a good way.
Don't treat them as chairs.
Don't treat them as chairs
وَالأَسْوَاقِ for your conversations in the streets and
in the marketplaces.
Okay.
Meaning don't use your horses and camels as
chairs.
Meaning don't overburden them, don't sit on them
for no reason.
Okay.
And the next thing he says is very
powerful.
There
are many animals that are better than the
one that is riding them.
There are many animals that are better than
the one that is riding them.
And more remembering of
Allah SWT than the rider itself.
Just imagine.
The animal itself is better and closer to
Allah SWT than the rider itself.
This is a very powerful hadith.
And in another hadith, the Prophet ﷺ, Abdullah
He forbade from killing the frog.
And he says that نَقِيقُهَا تَسْبِيحِ So the
sound, the ribbiting sound, what we call in
English that the frog makes is a form
of tasbih.
The Prophet ﷺ forbade the killing of frogs
because that is, as the Prophet ﷺ, is
the tasbih.
Jabir ibn Abdullah RA the Prophet ﷺ said,
The Prophet ﷺ said, Shall
I not tell you something, what Nuh ﷺ
said to his son?
He said to him, Oh my son, I
order you that you should say subhanallah because
this is the prayer of the creation.
This is the prayer of the creation.
And the tasbih of the creation and through
this tasbih the creation is provided sustenance.
So say subhanallah a lot.
This is something that we should try to
do as much as possible.
Now, there is one hadith, now this was
the opinion of those scholars that they say
that all animals and all stones and everything
basically makes the tasbih of Allah ﷻ.
Just as a side note, you've probably seen,
if you've been to a hajj and you
visit Medina, there is one particular pillar where
if you go into the road of the
Prophet ﷺ, where the member of the Prophet
ﷺ was or the mihrab of where the
Prophet ﷺ was, there is a pillar which
is right in front of that mihrab.
That pillar actually is a sign of where
a tree used to be.
The Prophet ﷺ in the beginning when the
masjid was made, he used to lean on
a tree to give the khutbah.
He used to basically put his hand or
lean his back against the tree while he
was giving the khutbah.
And then the sahaba basically built a mimbar
for him.
Then the Prophet ﷺ started standing on the
mimbar to give a khutbah.
And then this tree actually started crying and
the sahaba heard.
All the sahaba heard the tree crying and
the Prophet ﷺ got down from the mimbar
and actually patted it and stroked it until
it calmed down.
And the sahaba said that it was crying
like a little child.
Amazing that Allah ﷻ has given these animals
and these trees even the power of perception
to such a degree that they could feel
that tasbih and the glorification of Allah ﷻ
taking place and the closeness of the Prophet
ﷺ to them.
And that's why actually some people, gardeners actually
they say that you should even talk to
your plants when watering them and so on.
You should actually talk to your plants.
That's an amazing thing.
Basically they can hear, they can perceive, they
have a level of perception.
So this opinion, these riwayat support the opinion
that stones, trees, everything basically makes the tasbih
of Allah ﷻ.
And then the second opinion is that everything
that has a ruh in it, it basically
makes the tasbih of Allah ﷻ.
And they say in support, there's a hadith
in which the Prophet ﷺ he passed by
two graves and he said, both of them
are being punished by Allah ﷻ and they're
not being punished for something big.
One of them, he didn't used to take
precautions while he was urinating and basically the
urine was splashing onto his clothes and his
body and therefore because of that he's getting
punished in the grave.
The other person, he used to just spread
gossip about people.
So both of them are being punished.
Then what the Prophet ﷺ did is the
proof that the scholars have presented.
He took a moist branch, moist means he
basically just took it off a tree, it
was a fresh branch and he split it
into two and he put one end into
one grave and the other end into the
other grave and then he said that he
As long as these two
branches don't become dry, they will basically make
the punishment decrease, they will make the punishment
decrease for the dwellers of the grave as
long as they do not dry.
So from this, the scholars have said that
even the trees have a form of rooh
inside them and as long as a branch
is moist, that has the ability to make
the tasbih of Allah SWT and the tasbih
of those branches would have lessened the punishment
of the dwellers of the grave.
So these were the riwayat about the tasbih
of objects and the tasbih of the things
that are around us.
Everything in the creation makes the tasbih of
Allah SWT but you do not understand their
tasbih.
Allah SWT, He is, He has forbearance and
He is forgiving.
With that we finish our lesson today and
inshallah we will continue next week.
I pray that Allah SWT gives us the
tawfiq to understand and practice what has been
said and heard.
You see the flowers I saw that too.
It was amazing That video, there is one
video which is like long video that allah
Like a flower, that's what it is.
