The speakers discuss the meaning of Islam and the importance of avoiding disjitience and being careful with behavior. They stress the importance of removing impurities and making sure hearts are clean before entering Paradise, as it is appreciated and loved by Allah. The Prophet compels people to do the deeds that they did, and everyone has to do the right things to get their spots in the story of Jannah.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious,
the Most Merciful.
In the
name
of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Alhamdulillah wa salatu wa salamu ala Rasulullah.
I'm going to start from Ayah number 40
of Surah Al-A'raf.
Surah Al-A'raf, Al-A'raf refers
to a middle place between Jannah and Jahannam.
It is reserved for those people whose a'mal,
they were equal, meaning bad deeds, good deeds,
they became equal.
So they are temporarily put into this place,
which is called Al-A'raf, until Allah
SWT decides for them that they will be
entered into Paradise.
So this is what this Surah Al-A
'raf refers to.
There's a few verses which I would like
to focus on, and they are referring to
the people who deny the Ayat of Allah
SWT, what is going to be their outcome,
and the opposite of that, what is going
to be their outcome.
So Allah SWT says, Allah
says that indeed those people that deny our
Ayat, and they become arrogant from accepting them,
the doors of the skies will not be
opened for them, and they will not enter
Jannah until the jemal enters into the eye
of the needle.
So the jemal, it has two meanings.
One is the regular meaning that is accepted,
which is the camel, but in the context
of the Ayah, that you would use a
thread to put into the eye of a
needle, right?
So, keeping that context in mind, the word
jemal is also referring to a thick rope.
A thick rope, you will never be able
to thread a thick rope into the eye
of a needle.
So this is the impossibility of a person
who denies the Ayat of Allah SWT, who
denies the existence of Allah SWT, who denies
the Quran, who denies the Prophethood of our
beloved Prophet, and all of the other essential
attributes of Iman, he will not enter Paradise
until this impossibility takes place, which is either
the camel or the thick rope goes through
the eye of a needle.
And that's not going to happen.
So this is a declaration from Allah SWT,
Allah says, And this is how we reward
the criminals.
They will have a cradle of hellfire, meaning
that their bed will be the hellfire, and
also on top of them, they will have
the hellfire, and this is how we reward
the wrongdoers, the zalimeen.
Those people that had Iman and they did
good deeds, we do not obligate anything beyond
the capability of a person.
So, there's two points here, first of all,
Allah SWT starts off saying something, and then
in between that sentence, he brings about a
rule that has been mentioned elsewhere in the
Quran, before it's come, Those people that had
Iman and they did good deeds, and then
Allah SWT is, by way of note, saying
that the deeds that people are obligated to
do, they are not beyond their capability.
Allah SWT only obligated those people to do
things that they were capable of doing, and
not beyond that.
So it's not going to be a huge
problem for people to be obedient to a
relative, right?
So there's misgivings in his heart, there's jealousy
in his heart, there's hatred in his heart,
and as a result of that, he is
basically breaking relationships with his relatives, and that's
why the Prophet SAW said, this person who
breaks these relationships, he will not enter Paradise.
So before entering Paradise, Allah SWT will remove
this impurity.
Now, there are a couple of Riwayat that
talk about this issue.
One Riwayat says that while the people of
Jannah are saved from the Hellfire, there will
be still this Qisas left between people.
Sometimes, you know, some differences occurred in this
world, and the rights of the people could
not be fulfilled, so Allah SWT is going
to make sure that the rights are fulfilled,
or revenge is taken if somebody was wronged,
and then after that, after that revenge is
taken, and obviously now there's no misgivings left,
and then after that people will be entered
into Paradise.
So this will take place in a certain
bridge that is between Jannah and Jahannam.
So this is in one Riwayat.
According to another Riwayat, the people of Paradise,
before they enter Paradise, they will come across
two streams, and they will bathe in those
two streams.
They will drink water from one of the
streams, and they will bathe from the other
one.
And this will remove the impurities that they
had within their hearts.
One of them will be a stream of
Sharab al-Tahura, which is the pure wine,
and the other one will be the stream
of Nadrat al-Na'im.
So after drinking and bathing in these two
streams, the impurities of the world that were
left on them and in them, they will
be removed, and then in a pure state,
they will be able to enter into Paradise.
But this also tells us the importance of
making sure that our hearts are very very
clean.
There's a very famous Hadith that you may
have heard.
The Prophet ﷺ mentioned about a Sahabi, he
was sitting and he said that the next
person who walks through the door, he will
be a person of Paradise.
So everybody was keen to see who this
person is going to be.
So a very common Sahabi, who didn't have
much of a status, he walked in through
the door, and people were kind of astonished.
So another Sahabi went behind him and started
following him around for three days, pretended to
be his guest.
He didn't see anything out of the ordinary.
And then after three days he said, Look,
this is the reason that I have stuck
by you.
I wanted to find out what deed is
it that you do that is making you
so special that you will enter Paradise, but
I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.
So what is it you do?
So he said, I don't do anything special.
I just do the things that I'm supposed
to do.
I fulfill my obligations, stay away from disobedience,
and that's it.
So then as he's walking away, he said,
pulls him back, there is one thing that
I do on a regular basis, and that
is that before going to sleep, I forgive
everybody that has ever done wrong to me.
So that's why, now that's possibly the reason
that the Prophet ﷺ mentioned that about me.
So this is again to make sure that
our hearts are clean from everybody, and to
make sure that we forgive everybody who wrongs
us.
First and foremost, it is appreciated and loved
by Allah ﷻ, and secondly, you'll sleep much
better too.
You won't have any problem sleeping.
You won't be dwelling on these issues of
hatred and revenge and all that kind of
stuff, because you've kept your heart clean, and
you will sleep very peacefully.
And they
will declare that all praise is due to
Allah ﷻ, who guided us to this.
It's mentioned in riwayat, that the people of
Jannah, they will be shown their place that
they would have been in, if they had
disobeyed Allah ﷻ, and once they see that,
they will say, وَقَالُوا الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي هَدَانَ
All praise is due to Allah ﷻ,
who guided us for this, and they will
be relieved that they did not enter into
Jahannam.
And on the other hand, the people of
Jahannam will be shown the abode of Jannah,
and they will be sorry and upset at
the lost opportunity of getting into Paradise.
So this is what it's referring to.
They will declare that all praise is due
to Allah ﷻ, who guided us to this,
it wasn't for the guidance of Allah ﷻ,
we would not have been guided.
Indeed, our Rasul,
our Prophets, they brought the truth to us.
They gave us the truth.
Meaning, we believe them in this world, but
now that belief has been shown to us
with our own eyes, in reality, it turned
out to be true, and they will be
relieved that they followed in the footsteps of
their Anbiya ﷺ.
The cry will be, Allah ﷻ, or somebody
will make an announcement that this is the
Jannah that you have inherited because of the
deeds that you did.
Now, the question is, the Prophet ﷺ, he
said that none of you will enter Paradise.
with his deeds.
So, the Sahaba said,
Not even you, O Prophet of Allah.
The Prophet ﷺ said, وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أَن
Not even me,
except if Allah ﷻ covers me with His
mercy and His blessing, only then will I
even enter Paradise.
So, what does this actually, what does this
verse mean?
There are two things that we can gain
from this.
Firstly, it is kind of, you know, giving
the person who has done the deeds that
he did, kind of a satisfaction.
It is kind of elevating him, even though
ultimately it is the mercy of Allah ﷻ
that is putting him into Paradise, but giving
him the satisfaction that he did what he
could, and because of that, ultimately Allah ﷻ
entered him into Paradise.
And according to the Mufassirin, what it actually
means is that you did the deeds which
resulted in the mercy of Allah ﷻ, which
resulted in the Paradise that has been given
to you.
The final ayah,
The people of
Jannah will cry out, they will shout out
to the people of Jahannam, and somehow the
voice will reach the Jahannam.
The people of Jannah will cry out and
shout out to the people of Jahannam, and
they will say that, Oh people of Jahannam,
oh people of the fire, we found what
our Lord promised to be true.
Did you find what your Lord promised to
be true?
And they will say
They will say yes.
So this again, رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا حَقًّا Your Lord.
So, there can be two meanings from this.
Firstly, if it refers to the Lords that
they assumed to be their Lords, basically, it
was a falsehood.
So, basically it came true that Allah SWT,
whatever the Lords were claiming, they were false,
and that falsehood became true.
Or if it means Allah SWT, then the
threat that Allah SWT gave the people, that
if they disobeyed, if they didn't worship Allah
SWT, that they're going to end up in
the hellfire.
So they're going to say
Yes, we found what our Lord told us
to be true, and because of that, we
are now being punished.
And
a person will announce between them that the
لعنة, the curse of Allah SWT is upon
the wrongdoers.
Who are the wrongdoers?
Those people that prevented other people
from the path of Allah SWT.
They themselves did not want to tread the
path of Allah, the path of guidance, and
they also prevented other people from doing so,
and they sought crookedness.
Meaning, they didn't adopt the straight
path, they adopted the path of crookedness, the
path of misguidance, so because of that Allah
SWT is going to punish them.
And in addition to that,
they were rejecting that there's ever going to
be a hereafter, they're going to say that
there's nothing going to happen to us after
our death, we only see bodies, they decompose,
and we never see them come alive again,
so how can you claim that people are
going to come alive again?
They rejected the concept of
a hereafter, and because of that they will
be punished by Allah SWT.
I pray that Allah SWT gives us tawfiq
to understand and practice what is being said
in heaven.
