Welcome to the show Ramadan, a date with Dr. Zakir I'm your host use of chambers and today we will be discussing the topic, voluntary fasts and prohibited fasts.
Dr. Zakir Assalamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh walakum wa salaamu alaikum.
Folks Exactly. The first question I'd like to pose to you is,
are there any other fasts other than the obligatory fasts in Islam? and hungry Allah? Wa Salatu was Salam ala rasulillah, Allah Allah if ibH mean, Am I bad? So similarly in the pillar of fasting, we have the obligatory fast as well as the voluntary fires known as the dough.
Okay, thank you. Well, in that case, could you actually highlight or mentioned what are the voluntary fasts as recommended by the prophet Muhammad Sallallahu I leave Islam as far as voluntary fasts are concerned. Beside the days which are further fast, that's the month of Ramadan.
And those days, which are prohibited to fast, a Muslim can fast on any other day in the full year. But there are certain days, which the Prophet has recommended, where a Muslim if he fast, it is much more preferable, and he'll get masala first is fasting in the month of Muharram, especially Ashura.
Number two is fasting on the day of arafah. Number three is fasting during the first 10 days of the month of the lodge.

And furthermore, since the people are travelling in heist, that traveling as it is for a traveler, fasting is exempted. So if you use that logic, then the earlier you fast the better it is
so that you hit in the good deeds as far as fasting consecutively or separately doesn't make any difference. Though there are some people who say that we should fast together, then only it's valid, but there's no need to prove that you can fast together or at random or separate yourself.

And the third point of difference among the scholars is that since is the volunteer fast you can even decide you can get up in the morning. singing on Friday, for keeping the warranty fast, it is prohibited? Because Friday is the main day for the Muslims in the week, we can call it the weekly or the day is important day for the Muslims. And we offer congregation Salah, and we meet the roll days they meet our friends sort of fast on this day, it's not preferable. And furthermore,
it is negating, doing the opposite of what the Jews and Christians do. They prefer fasting on the Monday, that is Jews prefer fasting on Saturday, and the Christians on Sunday. And they consider as a religious day. And all the other days they do all their activities with no problems. So you don't believe in that. They're only doing acts of good deeds on Friday and not doing on the other days of the week. Based on these two reasons, Professor solemn has prohibited singling out Friday for fasting. But this prohibition is not complete prohibition without a macro. And he said that if you have too fast, you can fast on Friday, along with fasting one day before or one day afterwards. That
means we're not singing or fasting. Or if you're used to fasting on particular days, you know, like maybe three days in a month, the yam will be unbearable to be afraid in the no problem. Or if you're fasting alternate day, then that happened to be a fairly the no problem. Otherwise singling out only Friday is not permitted. It's mentioned in the hadith of
