for those who are not staying, if you
can please request them to leave silently.
Jazakumullahu khair.
Can you shut that door please?
Jazakumullahu khair.
Tayyeb, what's the topic today?
Aqeeda.
Aqeeda is a very broad topic, we can't
cover a whole aqeeda in one hour.
Those of you who are on the Al
-Bina group, you should know the topic.
Has it not been posted?
Yes.
Reliance on Allah and understanding the asbab, the
means and the measures.
So reliance on Allah is what?
What do we call reliance on Allah in
Arabic?
Tawakkul, not tawakkal.
Tawakkul.
The noun is tawakkul.
Tawakkul, reliance on Allah or trusting Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala is an act of worship,
it is an act of worship.
And if you remember when we covered the
definition of worship and ibadah, there was a
part that we mentioned that the worship includes
the actions of the body as well as
the actions of heart.
And this is an action of the heart.
Tawakkul is an action of the heart.
You can say it is a type of
worship, type of worship that is to do
with the heart.
You do this worship of Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala through your heart.
And in order to define the tawakkul from
Islamic or Shari'ah perspective, you should define
it as relying on Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta
'ala for the purpose of seeking benefit or
warding off any harm related to the matters
of this dunya or the matters of the
hereafter, while utilising the means and taking the
measures.
This is kind of comprehensive definition of tawakkul.
Let me repeat it.
Relying on Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
Yes, relying on Allah Dhul Jalali Wal Ikram
for the purpose of seeking benefit or warding
off any harm related to the matters of
this dunya or the matters of the hereafter,
while utilising the means or taking the measures.
This is the true definition or complete or
comprehensive definition of tawakkul.
And if you understand this definition, then it
can clarify many misconceptions or misunderstanding of the
meaning of tawakkul.
First and foremost, tawakkul is to rely on
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
Relying on Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala for
the purpose of benefit and warding off harm
as well.
Both.
You rely on Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
when you need something beneficial to you or
you rely on Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
when you are in need of protection, when
you would like to be protected from anything
harmful to you.
It can be physical harm, can be mental
harm, spiritual harm, any kind of harm.
So in order to protect yourself from any
kind of harm, you need to rely on
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
Whether it is related to the matters of
this dunya or the matter of the of
the next life or matters of the akhira,
such as standing before Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta
'ala on the day of judgment.
You need to seek the means and you
need to rely on Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta
'ala while utilizing the means that can help
you to stand before Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta
'ala on the day of judgment.
They're related to the matter of this dunya
or the matters of the next life.
And while utilizing the means as well, which
also makes it clear that not utilizing the
means or not taking the measures is something
that is contrary to tawakkul.
And tawakkul includes taking the measures and utilizing
the means.
Or in other words, utilizing the means is
something that is not against tawakkul, rather it
is an essential part of tawakkul.
Or you can say that tawakkul is not
complete or it is not perfect or you
do not have correct understanding of tawakkul if
you do not seek the means.
And taking the means or utilizing the means
or taking the measures, it is part of
tawakkul.
A man came to the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi
Wasallam and he said oh messenger of Allah,
I have a camel, shall I tie the
leg of the camel and then put tawakkul
in Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala or should
I leave it and have my tawakkul in
Allah, that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala will
protect my camel.
The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, first you
have to tie the camel, you have to
tie the camel, you have to utilize that
mean, you have to utilize that means and
then after that you put tawakkul in Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
So whatever is within your capacity, your capability
and ability, you do it.
But you do not rely on your capability,
you do not rely on your capacity, rather
you truly rely on Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta
'ala.
Allah says in the Quran concerning Sayyiduna Yaqub
Alaihi Salatu Wasalam, when he saw off his
sons and they traveled to Egypt and Yusuf
Alaihi Salatu Wasalam was the king of Egypt
that time, Yaqub Alaihi Salatu Wasalam said to
his sons, O
my dear children and my dear sons, all
of you together, all eleven, do not enter
from one single door at once.
Rather when you go and visit the king,
make sure all of you, you enter from
different doors and then he said This is
just my suggestion and advice for you to
protect yourself from an evil eye.
I cannot bring any benefit to you.
The judgment and the commandment is only for
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
It comes from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
and then he says I have put my
trust in Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala and
unto him those who rely, they rely unto
him only.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala also said in
the following ayah This was
something in the heart of Yaqub Alaihi Salatu
Wasalam and he expressed to his his sons.
So he advised them to take that means
in order to protect them from an evil
eye.
At the same time he said whatever Allah
has decreed, whatever Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
decides, it will definitely happen.
But I put my tawakkul in Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala, I have tawakkul on Allah
and I rely on Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta
'ala and you should also put your trust
in Allah Dhul Jalalul Ikram.
Tawakkul fluctuates amongst the individuals based
on the level of their Iman.
Because the tawakkul is the outcome or inevitable
outcome you should say or the result of
Iman.
Sayyiduna Musa Alaihi Salatu Wasalam said to his
people, Ya Qawm, In kuntum aamantum billah, O
my people if you truly believe in Allah,
then you should rely on Allah.
You should put your trust in Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala.
You should have tawakkul on Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala.
If you are truly believers, if you are
sincere and true believers, then you should be
having your tawakkul on Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta
'ala.
So Musa Alaihi Salatu Wasalam connected the tawakkul
to Iman and it is a reality, it
is a fact.
The higher and stronger your Iman is, the
higher your tawakkul and trust on Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala would be.
The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam was returning from
one of his expeditions and he lied down
under a tree.
A person, an individual from the enemies, he
came and he saw that the Prophet Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam was lying down under the tree
and he had hung his sword on the
tree.
This person came, he took the sword and
he said, O Muhammad, who is going to
save you from me now?
Look at the level of tawakkul, level of
tawakkul based on the strength of his Iman.
He said Allah.
As soon as he said Allah, the sword
dropped from his hand.
This is the power of tawakkul and the
power of Iman.
He said even there is no any means
of protection for him.
He is him and there is no one
to protect him Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam at that
point.
And the person is holding his sword and
he's about to kill him.
He said who can protect you, who can
save you from me?
He said Allah and Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta
'ala helped him.
You are a true believer, then have tawakkul
in Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
And then the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam took
the sword and he said who is going
to save you from me now?
Obviously he didn't have Iman.
He started praising the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
and begging him to let him go.
Okay, so that is the level of tawakkul.
Sayyiduna Musa Alayhi Salatu Wasalam, he's going away
with his people and behind them is the
army of Fir'aun.
And all of a sudden they find that
they see in front of them and the
people who had weak Iman, they said as
Allah says in Surah Al-Shu'ara The
people and the companion of Musa Alayhi Salatu
Wasalam, they said we are caught now.
Behind his army, in front to see, we
are caught.
Look at the level of tawakkul.
He said No, no, no.
My Lord is with me and he's going
to make a way for us.
And look at the power of his tawakkul
and Iman and Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
separate the water and they went through.
That is the level of tawakkul.
The Prophet Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam said If
you people were to rely on Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala, the way he Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala deserves to be relied on He
can provide you the rizq and he can
provide for you the way he provides for
the birds.
They go out in the morning empty stomach
and they return to their nest in the
evening full stomach.
That is the level of tawakkul that a
believer should have but it doesn't mean that
you do not take the means or you
don't use the means even in this particular
hadith Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam has indicated the
means as well.
He did not say that Allah provides the
birds while the birds are sitting within their
nests rather he said they go out they
go out in the morning.
For what?
In order to seek their provision but they
don't know where their provision is going to
be.
They go out having tawakkul in Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala.
Though they know that Allah is the provider.
He's the true provider but whatever is within
their capacity they fly.
This is something that is within their capacity.
This is this you know that's all they
can do but Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
returns them in the evening full stomach.
So when you utilize your means the hadith
also indicates when you use the means you
do not rely on the means.
Your reliance must stay in Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala.
You use the means because Allah has ordered
you to take the means.
His Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalam has ordered you
to take the means.
So when it comes to the means, the
means are of various types but before we
go into the details of the various types
of means I would like to share with
you some ayat of the Quran.
Subhanallah if you were to open the Quran
you can find almost in every single juz
and sometime you know page after page you
see the the word tawakkul is mentioned.
Tawakkul, tawakkul again and again.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says in the
Quran only on Allah the believers should trust
or they should rely.
In the second ayah of Surah Al-Anfal
Allah says the true believers are that whenever
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is mentioned before
them their hearts start trembling and whenever the
verses of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala are
recited unto them and they listen the Quran,
they hear the Quran, they listen to the
recitation of the Quran the verses of the
Quran increase them in their Iman and then
Allah says and one of the outstanding characteristics
is that only on their Lord they put
their tawakkul and their trust and they rely
only on Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala Allah
also says in the Quran Surah An-Nahl
فَإِذَا قَرَأْتَ الْقُرْآنَ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
whenever you are about to begin the recitation
of the Quran فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
you should seek Allah's refuge from the outcast
shaitan by saying in the following ayah Allah
says إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لَهُ سُلْطَانٌ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا
وَعَلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ although shaitan cannot have any
power on those who believe in Allah and
those who truly put their trust in Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala those who rely on
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala shaitan cannot overtake
them but you should still say أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ
مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ meaning you should put your
tawakkul in Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala by
using this means what does that mean?
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ and this again
is an indication that using the means is
part of tawakkul it is part of tawakkul
you can't say that since I'm a believer
I believe in Allah I believe in the
prophets of Allah I believe in the Quran
this and that so I'm saved I'm protected
and shaitan is not going to harm me
because Allah says in the Quran that the
believers are saved from the attacks of shaitan
no, you have to take the means you
have to take the measures and you have
to utilize the means and one of those
means is you say أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ
الرَّجِيمِ when you begin the recitation of the
Quran Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala also says
فَمَا أُوتِيتُم مِّن شَيْءٍ فَمَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا whatever
you have been given in this dunya it
is a worldly benefit of this temporary life
وَمَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ and whatever is
with Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is far
better than what you have in this dunya
وَأَبْقَىٰ and it is everlasting وَلِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا it
is for those who believe in Allah وَعَلَىٰ
رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ and those who rely on Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala Allah also says in
Surah At-Talaq وَمَنْ يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَىٰ اللَّهِ فَهُوَ
حَسْبُ actually they say the next part of
the ayah the previous ayah says وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ
اللَّهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مَخْرَجًا وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْسُ لَا
يَحْتَسِمُ whoever fears Allah Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta
'ala provides a way out for him whoever
has the taqwa of Allah and whoever is
mindful of Allah and conscious of Allah Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala makes a way out
for him from every difficult situation وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ
حَيْسُ لَا يَحْتَسِمُ and Allah provides him from
where he never thought of and then وَمَنْ
يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَىٰ اللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُ whoever relies on
Allah Allah is sufficient for him that is
why Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam has advised us
to remind ourselves of having tawakkul in Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala every morning and every
evening by reading the following dhikr of Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala seven times in the
morning and seven times in the evening and
if you were to read it by understanding
the meaning what you are uttering and what
you are declaring it will increase your iman
and you will feel that you are under
the divine protection of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta
'ala every morning and evening what is that
dhikr?
حَسْبِيَ اللَّهِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ
وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ
إِلَا هُوَ Allah is sufficient for me the
one there is none worthy of worship except
him Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ only
unto him I rely only on him I
rely وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ and he is
the lord of the great throne the Prophet
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam used to say this because
this is what Allah taught his Nabi Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam this is such a precious gift
from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala that Allah
Dhul Jalal Ikram gave to his Nabi Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam and Allah said to his Nabi
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam to say and to utter
this statement and to say this and then
the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam he shared that
beautiful precious gift with his Ummah as well
in the very last Ayah of Surah Tawbah
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا
فَقُلْ حَسْبِيَ اللَّهِ لا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ
تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ if all these
people turn away and they leave you alone
and no one stands by you or Muhammad
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam you still say حَسْبِيَ اللَّهِ
Allah is sufficient for me Allah is sufficient
for me عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْ because my tawakkul and
my trust in Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
only and this is what all the previous
Prophets and Messengers said as Allah says in
the Quran in Surah Ibrahim وَمَا لَنَا أَلَّا
نَتَوَكَّلَ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَقَدْ هَدَانَا سُبُولَنَا وَلَنَصْبِرَنَّ عَلَى
مَا آذَيْتُمُونَ why can we not have tawakkul
on our Lord Dhul Jalal Ikram whereas He
is the one who has guided us towards
our path the path of guidance وَلَنَصْبِرَنَّ عَلَى
مَا آذَيْتُمُونَ and we will continue having patience
on whatever harm you cause to us وَعَلَى
اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ because only on Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala rely the believers and there
are so many ayat in the Quran about
tawakkul, tawakkul again and again because tawakkul is
an essential part of Iman as I said,
tawakkul is direct impact or the result or
the outcome or inevitable outcome of Iman and
you cannot separate the two it is impossible
for a person to say I'm a believer
but when it comes to his tawakkul he
does not rely on Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta
'ala and it is impossible that a person
says a person says that I put my
trust in Allah complete trust in Allah yet
he does not believe in Allah impossible tawakkul
requires Iman Iman requires tawakkul tawakkul is the
outcome of Iman and Iman or the increase
increase in the Iman is the outcome of
tawakkul your Iman helps you to have tawakkul
and the more you put tawakkul on Allah
it increases your Iman so both help each
other stronger Iman helps you to have stronger
tawakkul and stronger tawakkul helps you to increase
your Iman in Allah Dhul Jalal Al Ikram
that is why it is essential for a
believer to rely on Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta
'ala while utilizing the means okay what do
you mean by this utilizing the means means
are of various types some of the means
or the first type of means you can
say are the means that are compulsory mandatory
you have to take those means have no
choice but to utilize those means and add
within this category the means that are recommended
highly recommended for example you want to please
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala because you believe
that Allah is my creator he is the
one who blessed me with so many of
his favors and bounties so I want to
please Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala how do
you do this yes if
you have tawakkul in Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta
'ala you have to utilize that means Allah
has ordered you in the Quran O you
who believe, seek Allah's assistance through
patience and prayer so if you truly need
Allah's assistance then you have to offer prayer
so that is fard that is fard likewise
let me give you another example for a
Muslim male for a Muslim man who can
hear the adhan according to majority of the
fuqaha or the scholar you can say you
have to attend the congregation and pray in
the masjid can't stay sitting home say I
don't have the means you have to utilize
the means you have a car you have
to start the car you have to drive
and come to the masjid using that means
in order to fulfill that obligation is also
fard using those kind of means in these
kind of situations is fard because you cannot
fulfill your obligation to Allah without using this
kind of means so you have to use
it so this is the first category of
using the means another example of this is
you want to have a child what kind
of means would you use then?
marriage although within the islamic fiqh the ruling
of marriage it varies from person to person
for the person who fears on himself from
falling into haram it is wajib it is
compulsory for him to get married as soon
as possible other person another person may not
have that kind of feeling it is recommended
for him and for some it is prohibited
if they cannot fulfill the right of their
spouse it is impermissible but in order for
you to fulfill your desire of having or
your wish of having a child you have
to use the means and the means is
that you get married and then you have
relations with your spouse and without that no
matter how many times you ask Allah Allah
grant me righteous child impossible you can't say
that I rely on Allah because Allah says
in the Quran He is the one who
grant the child so without marriage I really
want Allah to help me and give me
a child impossible you have to use the
means that is part of your tawakkul in
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala so this is
the first category of the means the means
that are compulsory or highly recommended the second
types of means is that is permissible and
its permissibility is established within the deen of
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala we have an
evidence of its permissibility or it is something
that does not contradict the core teachings of
the religion of Islam for example a person
is poor and he is suffering from hunger
and thirst and he does not have money
to buy food for him it is permissible
to borrow money from someone or to ask
someone to assist him and help him so
he approaches someone and his approach to someone
is a means of getting his need fulfilled
and if he is starving and if he
is about to die then it becomes compulsory
on him to seek that mean but even
if he is not dying and he feels
very poor he cannot fulfill his basic needs
then it is permissible for him to borrow
money from someone borrowing money borrowing loan it
is one of the means of fulfilling your
needs and it is permissible to utilize that
means and it is not against Tawakkul it
is not that the Sharia or the Islam
the religion of Islam doesn't say to you
that you remain poor and you keep suffering
your children keep suffering and you are unable
to fulfill your basic very basic needs and
you say I have my Tawakkul in Allah
Subhanahu wa ta'ala no you can seek
other's assistance and help you can borrow money
you can help someone to give Zakat to
you and this is something that is permissible
that this falls within permissible means the third
category is the type of means that are
permissible but disliked permissible but disliked it is
better if you don't do it can anyone
give me an example what?
Ruqiya Ruqiya ok do you agree?
I know yeah the brother said you ask
someone to do Ruqiya for you they disliked?
huh?
yes Jazakallah Khair yes yeah it is true
whenever we basically unfortunately our concept of Ruqiya
is that you approach a Raqi and you
ask him to do Ruqiya whatever you are
doing for yourself you don't consider it Ruqiya
you know I tried I make Dua I
do Zikr I read Suratul Baqarah I read
Suratul Falak Suratul Nas Suratul Ikhlas Ayatul Kursi
last two Ayat of Suratul Baqarah I did
all of them you don't consider it Ruqiya
you think that Ruqiya is something that is
done by a professional someone who robs you
someone who charges you the more he charges
you think the better his Ruqiya is the
more powerful someone charges only 20.99 I
don't think he is a professional enough someone
says I am going to charge you 150
for one session 60 minutes session I am
going to charge you oh it must be
someone very strong someone who has a friendship
with Jinn unfortunately although it is permissible to
request someone to do Ruqiya on you it
is permissible but it is not recommended rather
disliked disliked why?
what is the evidence of it being disliked?
yes Jazakallah Khair the Hadith in which the
Prophet S.A.W. said يدخل من أمتي
سبعون ألفا بغير حساب ولا عذب seventy thousand
people from my Ummah will enter into Jannah
without reckoning without any punishment Allah will not
even question them and seventy thousand they will
enter into Jannah and then the Prophet S
.A.W. mentioned their qualities and their characteristics
and amongst them is لا يسترقون they do
not ask people to do Ruqiya on them
وعلى ربهم يتوكلون rather they توقن الله سبحانه
وتعالى so Hadith doesn't say that they do
not do Ruqiya on themselves rather Hadith says
they do not ask others to do Ruqiya
why?
because it is seen it is considered as
a sign of weakness of your Iman the
weakness of your توقن الله سبحانه وتعالى rather
than putting توقن الله when you recite the
Quran when you recite all those Adhkar and
make Dua to Allah S.W.T you
think that Allah doesn't answer your Dua Allah
doesn't accept those Adhkar from you rather Allah
is going to accept from someone else and
He has closer connection to Allah S.W
.T so you end up weakening your Iman
and having weak توقن الله سبحانه وتعالى it
weakens your Iman and weakens your توقن الله
سبحانه وتعالى that is why using this kind
of means is disliked better to avoid that
is why we always advise those who suffer
from black magic evil eye or jinn possession
or whatever problem you have rather than looking
for a Raqi you do Ruqya on yourself
and you shouldn't be giving an excuse that
I don't know how to recite the Quran
سبحان الله this is a reality and it
happens so many times when you advise someone
please do Ruqya yourself say no I don't
know any Quran then the solution again the
easy solution or quick fix is pay someone
and he can do the job for you
no it doesn't work like that if you
never learn how to read the Quran you
should learn you start learning if you are
afflicted by a magic or jinn possession or
evil eye whatever and you want to do
Ruqya on yourself and you don't know the
Quran the solution is that you start learning
if you are sincere start learning Allah will
assist you Allah will help you and while
you are learning whatever you learn you read
it the entire Quran is Shifa وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ
الْقُرْآنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَاءٌ وَرَحْمَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ recite the
Quran and obviously you have to begin with
what with Suratul Fatiha as a Muslim as
a believer you are required to recite Suratul
Fatiha in every single Raqi of your Salah
anyway so this is the very first thing
from the Quran you should be learning and
when you learn and memorize Suratul Fatiha that
is sufficient even if you do not know
any other Surah I am not saying that
you shouldn't you should try to memorize as
much as you can but if you know
Suratul Fatiha all you need is تَوَكَّلْ إِنَّ
اللَّهَ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى this is the Kalam of
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala it has a
power in fact one of the names of
Suratul Fatiha is Suratul Shifa Surah of Shifa
so you put تَوَكَّلْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ and keep
reading reading a person may say I I've
been reading Suratul Fatiha you know so many
times this many times in the morning in
the evening it doesn't really work so what's
the solution again the solution is not go
and find out a Raqi rather the solution
is that you increase if one paracetamol doesn't
work you don't say that I'm gonna straight
away jump into another kind of medicine stronger
no you increase the dose instead of taking
one you take two instead of having gap
of six hours you may reduce the gap
and you take every four hours but when
it comes to Raqi we say no I've
tried it didn't work it didn't work means
you give up no you increase you do
more and more and more likewise Dua you
increase your Dua you've been remaking Dua for
five minutes increase it up to fifty minutes
fifty minutes general work make Dua for two
hours increase this is all to do you
with your Iman and Tawakkul in Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala so anyway so this is
the third category of the means that are
disliked permissible but disliked and the third fourth
one is the category of the means that
are impermissible or prohibited Haram you can say
the means that are Haram what is the
example of that from Jinns okay okay
yeah yes but
they're actually going to fall in another category
we are talking about the the the means
that are effective but not permissible let's put
it this way huh stealing yeah clear example
okay stealing okay is a means of fulfilling
your needs but it's impermissible effective yeah never
try but yes yeah but it is impermissible
likewise you have enough you have enough whatever
you earn is enough but you still have
a bad habit of begging asking people the
Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam says whoever goes out
and asks people for more and more whoever
asks people in order to accumulate more and
more money and wealth he will come on
the day of judgment and he will have
no flesh on his face on the day
only bones how ugly he is going to
look as standing before Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta
'ala he asked people not for fulfilling his
basic needs he had enough food maybe not
that luxury but he had enough to fill
his stomach he had enough to cover his
body had enough clothes but he had a
bad habit of begging people that is impermissible
effective way you can ask those who are
on the street day and night begging unfortunately
but it is impermissible taking a mortgage yes
you can fall in this it does it
does you have a means you earn enough
to rent a house but you know in
your mind you want to have a long
-term vision for your family your children so
put yourself into trouble for the next 25
years go ahead and then what take a
mortgage okay and you end up paying you
know interest for the next 25 years the
reason for that is that I want to
save the future of my children yes as
a father you should save the future of
your children within permissible means not taking something
not taking
so you go to someone and he writes
even ayat of the Quran okay he writes
an ayat of the Quran on a small
slip of paper piece of paper and then
you fold it and put it in your
neck okay is it shirk no not really
Quran okay he has hung Quran in his
neck you can't call it shirk Quran is
not shirk a person has written the dua
hasbi allahu la ilaha illahu alayhi tawakkal from
protection of shaitan do you call it shirk
no permissible is it permissible no it's not
permissible because there's no evidence yes the same
kind of ta'weez or amulet can be
haram if the writing is haram and unfortunately
people do they write on the corner they
make a box Jibreel Mikael Israel Israfil in
between someone else and then Ali Fatima Hassan
Hussain Abdul Qadir Jilani all of that no
doubt it is shirk okay so as if
it doesn't go to the level of shirk
then it is disliked okay so that is
another type of illusory you know means okay
and within this falls you know other you
know other category and anything that is not
permissible within the religion of Allah Subhanahu wa
ta'ala and it has no evidence it
has no evidence and last one within this
category is illusionary and it is also impermissible
it is prohibited it has no effect no
evidence that it is effective but it is
also prohibited what's the example of that taking
bad omen okay sooth saying yeah people think
that it may be beneficial okay any evidence
no is it prohibited or not it is
prohibited haram okay so these are the how
many categories have you said six five okay
within the fifth one we divided further within
the fifth one we said three okay within
the illusionary one we said three first one
is that is shirk the second one which
is not shirk but it is you know
it is something that has no evidence and
the third one that is prohibited we can't
call it shirk but it's prohibited you know
sorry it can be shirk and within that
falls those things that are not even shirk
but it's prohibited for example for example you
know taking an oath oh sorry so
mainly there are five categories of the means
the category that is a wajib or recommended
the second one is that is called permissible
the third one is disliked the fourth one
is impermissible and the fifth the haram and
the fifth one is illusionary and within illusionary
we have those that fall within the category
of shirk the other one that do not
fall into the category of shirk but is
impermissible and the third one is that is
not it is not shirk but it is
prohibited such as the nazar okay we ask
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to give us
ability to have trust on Him Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala and before we conclude does anyone
have any question with regards to what we
covered today any question yes here I have
a question okay when people go to Peer
Sahib what category does it fall in it
depends on their iman on their belief okay
if they go to a peer or saint
or someone pious in their understanding believing that
they are closer to Allah and they can
intercede on your behalf okay and they can
benefit you okay then it is impermissible this
impermissible way okay as long as it stays
there impermissible it is not permissible it doesn't
fall within shirk it becomes shirk when you
go to them believing that Allah has given
them a special kind of authority and people
do have those kind of beliefs now Allah
has given a person a special authority to
cure the sick and to increase the provision
give a child or no word of any
harm or any kind of thing if you
think that Allah has given them authority then
you go to them with this intention that
it is shirk no doubt okay but if
you do not believe that rather you go
to them because you think that they are
so pious and righteous and they are closer
to Allah that with that it can potentially
lead to shirk okay and it can weaken
your iman although it is permissible to ask
someone to make dua for you okay can
you do ruqya to help get rid of
disease of the heart yes ruqya for anything
ruqya if you have a physical illness you
do ruqya if you have any illness of
the heart ruqya yes ruqya is what ruqya
simply means to recite the Quran or the
dua the recommended dua that Rasulullah used to
read or he recommended so you do in
order for example if you think that your
heart is hard has become hardened and you
make dua to Allah make dua dua can
be one of the ways of doing ruqya
oh Allah keep repeating the dua Allah read
the dua any dua related to the heart
you do it and it will be class
as ruqya what is another another is vow
basically when you promise it is in Arabic
is written with noon dhal not za noon
dhal and ra another you make promise to
Allah a conditional promise basically can you repeat
the third thing for the illusory means illusory
I think I have already repeated okay illusory
means basically that you think in your mind
that using this means is beneficial effective but
it has no evidence has no evidence you
know that it is effective and it may
potentially lead to shirk is it permissible to
charge for doing hijama we are not talking
about the please you know it is now
open question answer session okay I never said
the word
