All praise is due to Allah subhanahu wa

00:00:03 --> 00:00:03

ta'ala.

00:00:05 --> 00:00:12

There's a saying, an Arabic saying,

00:00:12 --> 00:00:17

That the human has

00:00:17 --> 00:00:22

been called human because he or she forgets.

00:00:23 --> 00:00:28

So, this saying alerts us to something that

00:00:28 --> 00:00:32

forgetfulness can be a positive thing.

00:00:33 --> 00:00:36

If we reflect, for example, on some of

00:00:36 --> 00:00:40

the painful experiences that we've had over the

00:00:40 --> 00:00:44

course of our life, both physically and or

00:00:44 --> 00:00:52

emotionally, psychologically, mentally, the average life witnesses a

00:00:52 --> 00:00:52

lot of pain.

00:00:54 --> 00:00:57

What if we remember and recall that pain

00:00:57 --> 00:01:01

with its full intensity and never forgot?

00:01:02 --> 00:01:04

Life would be unlivable.

00:01:05 --> 00:01:08

So, it's a good thing in those instances

00:01:08 --> 00:01:11

that, as they say, time heals all wounds.

00:01:11 --> 00:01:16

And with time, most of our physical wounds

00:01:16 --> 00:01:17

heal, at least the pain.

00:01:19 --> 00:01:21

Psychological scars, they heal.

00:01:23 --> 00:01:28

But sometimes forgetfulness can be a

00:01:28 --> 00:01:29

bad thing.

00:01:30 --> 00:01:34

We live in a time where I believe,

00:01:34 --> 00:01:41

just my personal experience and opinion, that a

00:01:41 --> 00:01:46

lot of Muslims are forgetting many essential aspects

00:01:46 --> 00:01:49

of what it means to be a Muslim.

00:01:50 --> 00:01:52

And we need to be reminded.

00:01:53 --> 00:01:56

Allah Ta'ala reminds us in the Qur

00:01:56 --> 00:02:01

'an, for example, فَادَّكِّرْ بِالْقُرْآنِ مَنْ يُخَافُ وَعِيدٍ

00:02:01 --> 00:02:03

Remind them with the Qur'an.

00:02:03 --> 00:02:08

Those who fear the threatened punishment.

00:02:10 --> 00:02:13

So, we remind them with the Qur'an.

00:02:15 --> 00:02:19

00:02:20 --> 00:02:24

The blessing of Allah upon you, how

00:02:24 --> 00:02:25

you were enemies, etc.

00:02:27 --> 00:02:30

So, today, Insha'Allah Ta'ala, we want

00:02:30 --> 00:02:32

to just talk about a few things that

00:02:32 --> 00:02:34

I believe many Muslims forget.

00:02:36 --> 00:02:41

To begin, we like to boast and we

00:02:41 --> 00:02:45

get happy, some of us, that there are

00:02:45 --> 00:02:47

2 billion Muslims in the world.

00:02:47 --> 00:02:50

2 billion Muslims.

00:02:50 --> 00:02:54

But sometimes we forget there are

00:02:54 --> 00:02:57

9 billion people on earth.

00:02:58 --> 00:03:01

So, globally, Muslims are a small minority.

00:03:03 --> 00:03:06

We get encouraged in the country, there are

00:03:06 --> 00:03:07

10 million Muslims.

00:03:09 --> 00:03:13

Allah أكبر But we forget there are 320

00:03:13 --> 00:03:16

million people in this country.

00:03:17 --> 00:03:20

So, I say that to say this, many

00:03:20 --> 00:03:23

of us forget that if we're Muslims from

00:03:23 --> 00:03:27

those vast overwhelming minorities Allah Ta'ala has

00:03:27 --> 00:03:34

chosen us and honored us and distinguished us

00:03:34 --> 00:03:36

to be Muslim.

00:03:38 --> 00:03:41

So, Allah Ta'ala reminds us وَجَاهِدُوا فِي

00:03:41 --> 00:03:46

Struggle in the way

00:03:46 --> 00:03:49

of Allah as should rightfully be the case.

00:03:50 --> 00:03:52

He has chosen you.

00:03:53 --> 00:03:55

If you're Muslim, you've been chosen.

00:03:56 --> 00:04:00

And if one recalls that they've been chosen

00:04:02 --> 00:04:06

for a great distinction, a great honor and

00:04:06 --> 00:04:09

also for a great responsibility and a great

00:04:09 --> 00:04:13

mission then one cannot go on living their

00:04:13 --> 00:04:17

lives like the average Tom, Dick or Harry.

00:04:17 --> 00:04:19

Just an average person.

00:04:20 --> 00:04:23

If we remember, no, I'm not an average

00:04:23 --> 00:04:23

person.

00:04:24 --> 00:04:27

From all those average people out there Allah

00:04:27 --> 00:04:30

Ta'ala has chosen me to be a

00:04:30 --> 00:04:30

Muslim.

00:04:32 --> 00:04:35

Allah has chosen me to keep alive the

00:04:35 --> 00:04:38

prophetic heritage amongst humanity.

00:04:39 --> 00:04:44

Allah has chosen me in an era where

00:04:44 --> 00:04:48

people are responding as it were to a

00:04:48 --> 00:04:55

command شاهد view look at your screen, look

00:04:55 --> 00:04:57

at your phone, look at your tablet, look

00:04:57 --> 00:05:02

at your television but we've been called to

00:05:02 --> 00:05:09

respond to a different command اقرأ read اقرأ

00:05:09 --> 00:05:14

باسم ربك الذي خلق read in the name

00:05:14 --> 00:05:18

of your Lord who created and there's a

00:05:18 --> 00:05:23

vast difference between the consequence of those two

00:05:23 --> 00:05:26

factions but that's a whole another khutbah.

00:05:27 --> 00:05:31

We mentioned the last verse not the verse,

00:05:31 --> 00:05:33

the beginning of the last verse of Suratul

00:05:33 --> 00:05:35

Hajj so this is the first thing, we've

00:05:35 --> 00:05:39

been chosen my dear brothers and sisters to

00:05:39 --> 00:05:39

be Muslim.

00:05:39 --> 00:05:43

We've been chosen to carry the prophetic legacy

00:05:43 --> 00:05:45

amongst humanity.

00:05:46 --> 00:05:50

We've been chosen to keep ancient teachings alive

00:05:51 --> 00:05:54

in a world that has no or little

00:05:54 --> 00:05:56

respect for things that are ancient.

00:05:58 --> 00:06:03

Many Muslims proudly call themselves progressives when the

00:06:03 --> 00:06:07

whole essence of progressivism is to divorce itself

00:06:07 --> 00:06:12

from anything that has anything to do with

00:06:12 --> 00:06:15

the ancient world or ancient traditions or ancient

00:06:15 --> 00:06:17

customs or ancient practices.

00:06:18 --> 00:06:22

We have to remember we have to remember

00:06:22 --> 00:06:27

something else that the first word, second rather

00:06:27 --> 00:06:32

in this verse reminds us جاهد We've been

00:06:32 --> 00:06:36

chosen to be Muslims and as Muslims our

00:06:36 --> 00:06:41

life is a life of struggle our life

00:06:41 --> 00:06:45

is a life of struggle if you find

00:06:45 --> 00:06:47

it difficult and challenging to be a Muslim

00:06:47 --> 00:06:52

under the circumstances you find yourself involved in

00:06:53 --> 00:06:56

then you should know that's the way it's

00:06:56 --> 00:07:00

supposed to be even though Allah says He

00:07:00 --> 00:07:04

made no difficulty upon us

00:07:04 --> 00:07:10

فِي الدِّينِ مِنْ حَرَجٍ that's in terms of

00:07:10 --> 00:07:15

what we practice the fifty prayers were reduced

00:07:15 --> 00:07:19

00:07:19 --> 00:07:29

حَرَجٍ the continuity of fasting الوصال الصيام is

00:07:29 --> 00:07:31

reduced to fast during the day, eat at

00:07:31 --> 00:07:35

00:07:35 --> 00:07:38

but to live the life of a Muslim

00:07:39 --> 00:07:45

to have the orientation towards the reality that

00:07:45 --> 00:07:49

a Muslim should have these are not easy

00:07:49 --> 00:07:55

things so much so that it's reported from

00:07:55 --> 00:08:02

00:08:02 --> 00:08:08

أيام تسمى أيام الصبر at the end of

00:08:08 --> 00:08:10

time there will be days they will be

00:08:10 --> 00:08:17

00:08:17 --> 00:08:22

كَآخِذٍ عَلَىٰ جَمْرٍ one who holds on to

00:08:22 --> 00:08:24

their religion during those times will be like

00:08:24 --> 00:08:28

one holding on to a burning ember so

00:08:28 --> 00:08:30

it's still summer so some of you have

00:08:30 --> 00:08:33

cookouts the next time you fire up the

00:08:33 --> 00:08:36

grill and you put your charcoal briquettes in

00:08:36 --> 00:08:40

there imagine yourself scooping out a red hot

00:08:40 --> 00:08:44

charcoal and just casually holding on to it

00:08:44 --> 00:08:50

it's difficult, you'll be juggling it وَالْآخِذُ فِيهِ

00:08:50 --> 00:08:56

00:08:56 --> 00:09:00

have a principle in our religion that principle

00:09:00 --> 00:09:06

goes like this الْأَجْرُ بِقَدْرِ الْمَشَّقَّ the reward

00:09:06 --> 00:09:09

you get from an action is commensurate to

00:09:09 --> 00:09:14

the difficulty of the act the one who

00:09:14 --> 00:09:17

reads the Quran fluently and he sounds like

00:09:17 --> 00:09:21

Abdul Basit or Al-Minshawi or some more

00:09:21 --> 00:09:26

recent reciters of the Quran has one reward

00:09:26 --> 00:09:30

the reward of their recitation the one who

00:09:30 --> 00:09:33

reads the Quran in stutters in stammers, in

00:09:33 --> 00:09:37

struggles has two rewards the reward of their

00:09:37 --> 00:09:41

struggle and the reward of their recitation الْأَجْرُ

00:09:41 --> 00:09:45

بِقَدْرِ الْمَشَّقَّ so if it's that difficult to

00:09:45 --> 00:09:50

hold on to your religion

00:09:50 --> 00:09:55

كَآخِذٍ عَلَىٰ جَمْرٍ then the reward must be

00:09:55 --> 00:09:58

great so what is the reward for holding

00:09:58 --> 00:10:01

on what is the reward for resisting the

00:10:01 --> 00:10:04

temptations of the day what is the reward

00:10:04 --> 00:10:07

for refusing to give up to refuse to

00:10:07 --> 00:10:15

00:10:15 --> 00:10:19

رَزُولًا and the reward for one who continues

00:10:19 --> 00:10:23

to practice continues to hold on continues to

00:10:23 --> 00:10:27

forge on doesn't compromise is like the reward

00:10:27 --> 00:10:32

of 50 men now the prophet ﷺ was

00:10:32 --> 00:10:36

talking to the companions so they asked مِنَّا

00:10:36 --> 00:10:40

00:10:40 --> 00:10:46

or 50 of them مِنْكُمْ 50 companions so

00:10:46 --> 00:10:49

we could translate that the one who continues

00:10:49 --> 00:10:57

to practice literally وَالْأَجْرُ الْعَامِلِ فِيهَا during those

00:10:57 --> 00:11:01

times is like the reward of 50 companions

00:11:02 --> 00:11:07

الْأَجْرُ بِالْقَدْرِ الْمَشَّقَّةِ may Allah bless us to

00:11:07 --> 00:11:09

hold on may Allah bless us to remember

00:11:09 --> 00:11:12

the reward my brothers and sisters when you're

00:11:12 --> 00:11:17

confronted with very difficult challenges in your religion

00:11:17 --> 00:11:21

don't look at the magnitude of the challenge

00:11:21 --> 00:11:24

don't look at the difficulty of the situation

00:11:24 --> 00:11:29

look at the magnitude of the reward look

00:11:29 --> 00:11:32

at the magnitude of the reward that you

00:11:32 --> 00:11:35

will get if you meet the challenge head

00:11:35 --> 00:11:42

on and we're not asked to just bulldoze

00:11:42 --> 00:11:45

through everything in our path we're asked to

00:11:45 --> 00:11:51

struggle we're asked to try

00:11:51 --> 00:11:55

فَاجْتَنِبُوهُ what I forbid for you, leave it

00:11:55 --> 00:12:00

00:12:00 --> 00:12:03

but what I command you to do do

00:12:03 --> 00:12:06

to the best of your ability that's it,

00:12:07 --> 00:12:08

do it to the best of your ability

00:12:10 --> 00:12:13

do it to the best of your ability

00:12:13 --> 00:12:17

the very phrase at the beginning of the

00:12:17 --> 00:12:21

00:12:21 --> 00:12:26

so struggle in the way of Allah as

00:12:26 --> 00:12:30

should rightfully be the case but we recognize

00:12:31 --> 00:12:34

the right that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

00:12:34 --> 00:12:38

has over us is impossible for us to

00:12:38 --> 00:12:47

meet it's impossible just giving the shukr that's

00:12:47 --> 00:12:50

all for our vision what would it take?

00:12:52 --> 00:12:56

so implicitly do the very best you can

00:12:57 --> 00:13:01

do the very best you can but make

00:13:01 --> 00:13:04

no excuses we're not a people who make

00:13:04 --> 00:13:09

excuses we're a people who do the best

00:13:09 --> 00:13:12

that we can and then we leave the

00:13:12 --> 00:13:15

outcome to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala don't

00:13:15 --> 00:13:21

make excuses we forget the Quranic message fundamental

00:13:21 --> 00:13:25

aspects there's a debate raging in this country

00:13:25 --> 00:13:29

over the issue of abortion by way of

00:13:29 --> 00:13:34

example and not to delve deeply into that

00:13:34 --> 00:13:37

controversy it's not the place for jumah khutbah

00:13:37 --> 00:13:41

but to say this you'll find many of

00:13:41 --> 00:13:49

our sisters echoing the slogans of atheist kafir

00:13:49 --> 00:13:56

women my body my choice my body my

00:13:56 --> 00:14:00

choice where's that in the teachings of Islam?

00:14:02 --> 00:14:08

it's just not women that's totally rootless even

00:14:08 --> 00:14:11

a man to say that Allah ta'ala

00:14:11 --> 00:14:14

reminds us in the Quran that's what is

00:14:14 --> 00:14:18

imperative it's not recommended it's not encouraged it's

00:14:18 --> 00:14:22

imperative for anyone who is not at the

00:14:22 --> 00:14:26

level of fluidity in the Arabic language that

00:14:26 --> 00:14:29

they are in English or Spanish to read

00:14:29 --> 00:14:31

the Quran in English or Spanish the translation

00:14:31 --> 00:14:36

so that the message informs our consciousness shapes

00:14:36 --> 00:14:40

our consciousness informs our world view Allah ta

00:14:40 --> 00:14:44

'ala tells us in the Quran وَرَبُّكُمْ يَخْذُكُمْ

00:14:44 --> 00:14:49

00:14:49 --> 00:14:53

is your Lord who creates and chooses they

00:14:53 --> 00:14:57

have no choice we don't have a choice

00:14:58 --> 00:15:01

Allah chooses for us Allah created us and

00:15:01 --> 00:15:05

Allah chooses and we say I hear and

00:15:05 --> 00:15:12

I obey مَا كَانَ لَهُمْ الْخِيَرًا so leaving

00:15:12 --> 00:15:16

aside the issue of abortion and not to

00:15:16 --> 00:15:18

pick on anyone who might have tattoos just

00:15:18 --> 00:15:22

don't get another one I can't say my

00:15:22 --> 00:15:27

body my choice and tap myself up tattooing

00:15:27 --> 00:15:30

is a major sin كبيرة من الكبائر it's

00:15:30 --> 00:15:35

a major sin as a man I can't

00:15:35 --> 00:15:38

pierce my ears my body my choice I

00:15:38 --> 00:15:41

can't get a Mohawk haircut my body my

00:15:41 --> 00:15:46

choice this is Allah's body

00:15:46 --> 00:15:51

00:15:51 --> 00:15:54

وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ unto Allah belongs everything in

00:15:54 --> 00:15:56

the heavens and in the earth aren't we

00:15:56 --> 00:15:57

in the earth?

00:15:59 --> 00:16:00

what happens when we die?

00:16:01 --> 00:16:03

what do we mind ourselves of?

00:16:04 --> 00:16:08

إِنَّا لِلَّهِ we belong to Allah وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ

00:16:08 --> 00:16:13

رَاجِعُونَ and unto Him we are returning but

00:16:13 --> 00:16:16

we forget basic fundamental teachings of the religion

00:16:18 --> 00:16:23

fundamental teachings it's time to get back to

00:16:23 --> 00:16:27

basics we have to remember and remind ourselves

00:16:27 --> 00:16:30

again Islam is a simple religion early on

00:16:30 --> 00:16:34

they study the complexities of the religion but

00:16:34 --> 00:16:36

at the end of the day they lay

00:16:36 --> 00:16:39

out a path for the people the common

00:16:39 --> 00:16:43

people that is simple and straight forward and

00:16:43 --> 00:16:45

many of us converted to Islam because of

00:16:45 --> 00:16:50

that simplicity توحيد لا إله إلا الله a

00:16:50 --> 00:16:54

messenger to follow محمد رسول الله we didn't

00:16:54 --> 00:16:56

have to make it up on the fly

00:16:57 --> 00:17:00

we didn't have to just have a general

00:17:00 --> 00:17:03

set of moral and ethical principles and we

00:17:03 --> 00:17:08

fill in the blanks we have an involved

00:17:08 --> 00:17:11

system of morality a system that tells us

00:17:11 --> 00:17:15

what is right and what is wrong we

00:17:15 --> 00:17:20

don't have to make it up so may

00:17:20 --> 00:17:22

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala bless us to

00:17:22 --> 00:17:28

remember to remember that we've been chosen we're

00:17:28 --> 00:17:36

not just accidentally Muslim He's chosen you to

00:17:36 --> 00:17:39

be a source of light when the world

00:17:39 --> 00:17:42

is dark many of us forget that we

00:17:42 --> 00:17:46

are guides for humanity just as the Prophet

00:17:46 --> 00:17:49

ﷺ was a guide for us and humanity

00:17:50 --> 00:17:54

but more specifically he's a guide for us

00:17:54 --> 00:17:59

but he's not here we forget the role

00:17:59 --> 00:18:02

that the scholars play and sometimes the scholars

00:18:02 --> 00:18:06

forget the role that they play see this

00:18:06 --> 00:18:08

one's involved in this scandal and that one's

00:18:08 --> 00:18:13

involved in that scandal because they forget they're

00:18:13 --> 00:18:15

guides for the people they're the heirs of

00:18:15 --> 00:18:20

the Prophet ﷺ the scholars are the heirs

00:18:20 --> 00:18:25

of the Prophets the scholars are the heirs

00:18:25 --> 00:18:29

of the Prophets so the Prophets who guides

00:18:29 --> 00:18:35

for humanity the Prophets are moral exemplars you

00:18:35 --> 00:18:37

conclude with the story that you probably heard

00:18:37 --> 00:18:42

from me or someone else the story is

00:18:42 --> 00:18:49

said it's said that Abdullah ibn Umar met

00:18:49 --> 00:19:01

a young Abdullah ibn Zubair and

00:19:01 --> 00:19:10

the younger was tending some sheep and so

00:19:10 --> 00:19:13

ibn Umar again some say it wasn't ibn

00:19:13 --> 00:19:18

Umar to leave the details it's said ask

00:19:18 --> 00:19:20

him to give me one of the sheep

00:19:21 --> 00:19:23

sell me, sell me one of the sheep

00:19:23 --> 00:19:27

and he said they're not my sheep I

00:19:27 --> 00:19:30

don't have the right to sell them and

00:19:30 --> 00:19:34

the elder he said well no one's around

00:19:34 --> 00:19:37

and the owner you have so many sheep

00:19:37 --> 00:19:41

he won't know one is missing and the

00:19:41 --> 00:19:44

young man the young lad replied so ain't

00:19:44 --> 00:19:50

Allah no human being is around but Allah

00:19:50 --> 00:19:56

is around and Allah would witness that transgression

00:19:56 --> 00:20:00

and Allah would hold me accountable for not

00:20:00 --> 00:20:03

bearing the trust that was deposited with me

00:20:03 --> 00:20:07

so ain't Allah so my dear brothers and

00:20:07 --> 00:20:11

sisters whenever you find yourself in a situation

00:20:12 --> 00:20:15

where you're ready to compromise the religion where

00:20:15 --> 00:20:17

you're ready to turn back where you think

00:20:17 --> 00:20:21

it's too hard just ask yourself that ain't

00:20:21 --> 00:20:24

Allah and where is Allah Allah sees and

00:20:24 --> 00:20:29

witnesses Allah knows, Allah hears Allah knows what

00:20:29 --> 00:20:31

we're dealing with Allah knows how difficult it

00:20:31 --> 00:20:34

is it is Allah who created the test

00:20:34 --> 00:20:36

for us in the first place in order

00:20:36 --> 00:20:40

that He could strengthen our faith affirm our

00:20:40 --> 00:20:43

faith and give us a bounteous reward for

00:20:43 --> 00:20:47

something we also tend to forget we generalizing,

00:20:47 --> 00:20:50

not necessarily anyone here that we're not living

00:20:50 --> 00:20:53

for this world we're living for the Akhira

00:20:54 --> 00:20:56

this world is in a boat of tests

00:20:56 --> 00:21:01

and trials it's in a boat of tests

00:21:01 --> 00:21:07

and trials so that we may successfully gain

00:21:07 --> 00:21:09

the Akhira which is the abode of peace

00:21:09 --> 00:21:13

where there's no tests or trials there's no

00:21:13 --> 00:21:19

oppression there's no treachery there's no economic, psychological

00:21:19 --> 00:21:26

social or otherwise other form of oppression the

00:21:26 --> 00:21:29

human imperfections there's no disease, there's no COVID

00:21:31 --> 00:21:37

there's no malaria there's no AIDS none of

00:21:37 --> 00:21:42

that exists there that's the abode of tranquility

00:21:42 --> 00:21:45

that's the abode of peace that's the abode

00:21:45 --> 00:21:52

of Salaam Darus Salaam not this world so

00:21:52 --> 00:21:55

remember, we're not living for this world we're

00:21:55 --> 00:21:57

living for the Akhira and all of the

00:21:57 --> 00:22:00

tests, the trials and tribulations of this world

00:22:00 --> 00:22:10

when we're in the

00:22:10 --> 00:22:15

Akhira the worst thing we've ever encountered in

00:22:15 --> 00:22:18

this world and when we start we will

00:22:18 --> 00:22:23

have no recollection some of us are able

00:22:23 --> 00:22:25

to transcend the worst of the world in

00:22:25 --> 00:22:27

the world but occasionally we might have a

00:22:27 --> 00:22:31

flashback even an unconscious one and that pain

00:22:31 --> 00:22:35

just comes back briefly but in the Akhira

00:22:35 --> 00:22:41

we won't have any recollection of it and

00:22:41 --> 00:22:43

if we do it won't be associated with

00:22:43 --> 00:22:46

any pain in fact some of the most

00:22:46 --> 00:22:49

vexing situations will be a source of happiness

00:22:50 --> 00:22:53

because we'll look back at it or the

00:22:53 --> 00:22:56

flash before us and we'll say Alhamdulillah that

00:22:56 --> 00:23:00

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gave me that

00:23:00 --> 00:23:02

test put that test in my life because

00:23:02 --> 00:23:06

that might be the reason I'm here in

00:23:06 --> 00:23:09

Jannah today may Allah give us Tawfiq May

00:23:09 --> 00:23:13

Allah ta'ala make things easy for us

00:23:13 --> 00:23:16

may Allah give us the strength to pass

00:23:16 --> 00:23:19

any test He might present to us in

00:23:19 --> 00:23:21

this world may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

00:23:21 --> 00:23:25

bless us to be mindful of the fundamental

00:23:25 --> 00:23:28

teachings of the religion may Allah subhanahu wa

00:23:28 --> 00:23:30

ta'ala strengthen us may Allah ta'ala

00:23:30 --> 00:23:33

elevate us may Allah ta'ala bless us

00:23:33 --> 00:23:37

bestow His mercy upon us open the floodgates

00:23:37 --> 00:23:40

of His grace before us وصلى الله على

00:23:40 --> 00:23:46

00:23:46 --> 00:23:53

00:23:53 --> 00:24:16

00:24:16 --> 00:24:22

00:24:30 --> 00:24:38

00:24:38 --> 00:24:44

00:24:44 --> 00:24:51

00:24:51 --> 00:24:55

00:24:55 --> 00:25:02

00:25:02 --> 00:25:06

00:25:06 --> 00:25:16

00:25:17 --> 00:25:22

00:25:22 --> 00:25:29

00:25:29 --> 00:25:35

00:25:35 --> 00:25:39

00:25:39 --> 00:25:42

00:25:42 --> 00:25:44

00:25:44 --> 00:25:48

00:25:48 --> 00:25:55

00:25:55 --> 00:26:03

00:26:03 --> 00:26:08

00:26:08 --> 00:26:18

00:26:18 --> 00:26:24

00:26:24 --> 00:26:31

00:26:34 --> 00:26:39

00:26:39 --> 00:26:48

00:26:48 --> 00:26:56

00:26:56 --> 00:27:04

هذه الألوان الألوان الاثنية than many of the

00:27:04 --> 00:27:07

architects of these devilish ideologies.

00:27:08 --> 00:27:12

Devilish because shaitan is the first divider as

00:27:12 --> 00:27:13

we said.

00:27:14 --> 00:27:18

And his first rebellion was because of color.

00:27:19 --> 00:27:21

And because of physical difference.

00:27:22 --> 00:27:24

Allah Ta'ala says to Al-La'im,

00:27:25 --> 00:27:29

00:27:29 --> 00:27:33

00:27:33 --> 00:27:40

And Allah said to Iblis, to shaitan, what

00:27:40 --> 00:27:44

prevented you from prostrating yourself to Adam when

00:27:44 --> 00:27:46

I ordered you to do so, he said

00:27:46 --> 00:27:48

I'm better than him, superiority.

00:27:49 --> 00:27:50

Based on what?

00:27:50 --> 00:27:55

He didn't argue along moral lines.

00:27:56 --> 00:27:57

I give more charity.

00:27:58 --> 00:28:00

I'm kinder to the elderly.

00:28:02 --> 00:28:03

I kiss babies.

00:28:05 --> 00:28:07

He made no moral argument.

00:28:07 --> 00:28:10

He argued based on physical difference.

00:28:10 --> 00:28:14

You created me from fire and you created

00:28:14 --> 00:28:15

him from clay.

00:28:16 --> 00:28:18

And that physical difference had a color component.

00:28:18 --> 00:28:23

Because if you look at fire, it's blue,

00:28:23 --> 00:28:27

red, orange, yellow, green.

00:28:28 --> 00:28:31

And the clay Adam was created from was

00:28:31 --> 00:28:32

black clay.

00:28:33 --> 00:28:37

The first racial supremacist was shaitan.

00:28:37 --> 00:28:42

And every supremacist following him is walking in

00:28:42 --> 00:28:43

his devilish footsteps.

00:28:43 --> 00:28:49

And in conclusion, remind us, myself and yourselves

00:28:49 --> 00:28:50

of one more thing.

00:28:52 --> 00:28:55

That we've been commanded not to follow the

00:28:55 --> 00:28:57

footsteps of shaitan.

00:28:58 --> 00:29:01

00:29:01 --> 00:29:07

00:29:07 --> 00:29:10

O you believers, enter totally into Islam.

00:29:10 --> 00:29:12

In other words, don't take some and reject

00:29:12 --> 00:29:13

others.

00:29:13 --> 00:29:15

I don't like this.

00:29:15 --> 00:29:17

This is sexist.

00:29:18 --> 00:29:22

This is incompatible with present sentiments.

00:29:23 --> 00:29:24

So I won't take that part.

00:29:26 --> 00:29:28

Don't take some and leave some.

00:29:29 --> 00:29:30

Take it all to the best of your

00:29:30 --> 00:29:31

abilities.

00:29:31 --> 00:29:35

And don't follow the

00:29:35 --> 00:29:36

footsteps of shaitan.

00:29:37 --> 00:29:44

00:29:44 --> 00:29:46

He is unto you a clear enemy.

00:29:47 --> 00:29:49

His enmity is not disguised.

00:29:50 --> 00:29:52

Now you see it on full display.

00:29:52 --> 00:29:54

He's not disguising it.

00:29:55 --> 00:29:59

If anytime in human history the clarity of

00:29:59 --> 00:30:03

the enmity of shaitan to the human being

00:30:03 --> 00:30:05

was on full display, it's now.

00:30:07 --> 00:30:09

So don't follow his footsteps.

00:30:10 --> 00:30:12

Don't open the door to following his footsteps.

00:30:13 --> 00:30:14

May Allah give us tawfiq and taishir.

00:30:14 --> 00:30:16

May Allah accept from us.

00:30:16 --> 00:30:17

May Allah Ta'ala strengthen us.

00:30:18 --> 00:30:21

May Allah Ta'ala bless us to understand

00:30:21 --> 00:30:23

the gravity of Islam.

00:30:23 --> 00:30:26

And what Islam represents in the face of

00:30:26 --> 00:30:33

many different areas of dehumanizing realities, institutions, movements

00:30:33 --> 00:30:35

that are unfolding in our world.

00:30:36 --> 00:30:37

May Allah give us tawfiq.

00:30:37 --> 00:30:41

May Allah bless us to elevate ourselves from

00:30:41 --> 00:30:43

the attraction shaitan.

00:30:43 --> 00:30:45

He argued based on his physicality.

00:30:46 --> 00:30:48

He wants to keep all of us trapped

00:30:48 --> 00:30:50

at the level of physicality.

00:30:50 --> 00:30:53

He doesn't want us to elevate so that

00:30:53 --> 00:30:55

our lives, our world view, the way we

00:30:55 --> 00:31:00

see reality is informed by metaphysical realities.

00:31:00 --> 00:31:03

By things you can immediately perceive through your

00:31:03 --> 00:31:04

physical senses.

00:31:05 --> 00:31:11

And pleasures that you don't realize are stored

00:31:11 --> 00:31:16

up at that level beyond carnal lusts and

00:31:16 --> 00:31:17

appetites.

00:31:18 --> 00:31:22

And when one elevates, we're ready to respond.

00:31:23 --> 00:31:25

So we can respond to shaitan.

00:31:25 --> 00:31:28

And we can remain trapped at the physical

00:31:28 --> 00:31:28

level.

00:31:29 --> 00:31:34

And everything, even Islam, is reduced to the

00:31:34 --> 00:31:35

physical.
