This month of Ramadan,

month of opportunities,

month of hope,

is also called the month of taqwa.

Ultimately,

our desired outcome

is to achieve the taqwa of Allahu

You might ask yourself the question, so what

does taqwa

mean?

And many of the companions of the Prophet

many of the pious predecessors have given a

definition

for this concept of Taqwa,

and the prophet puts it very beautifully

when he says,

leave off

major sins and minor sins

for that is

Be like that one who walks over a

pathway

of thorns.

He is

mindful of where he steps.

Do not belittle

any sin

because mountains

are made up of pebbles.

And so this is what Taqwa is,

doing what we must be doing

and staying

away from those things which Allah

has prohibited

us from.

And this month of Ramadan

offers that perfect opportunity

for us

to establish ourselves

as believers,

to establish ourselves as slaves of Allah

doing what we must

and refraining

from those things which you should

be refraining from.

This Ramadan,

do more.
