A very well known hadith
amongst the treasure chest of Rasulullah sallahu alaihi
wasallam's legacy
is a hadith that almost every hadith book
starts with.
A hadith
which Imam Shafi
considers half of Islamic knowledge.
The Prophet
teaches us here that verily our actions are
judged by our intentions,
and an individual will attain that which he
intends.
And so we know that
the correctness
of our actions
and whether Allah
will accept our action or not,
is purely based
on the reason
on why we do this action.
And so for many of us, that's the
understanding we have of this hadith,
but this hadith also brings about
a better quality
of the action
that we
give to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala or that
we present to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala?
Have you ever noticed when you intend
on buying a new vehicle
or new pair of shoes,
and the next day you go out and
you see every second person is wearing the
same shoe or driving the same car.
It's not that something happened, but rather with
your intention,
your attention
of that object
was impacted.
And so,
during the month of Ramadan,
we need to renew our attention
and intention.
Renew
intention every day.
Renew your intention
every day, and that will impact on the
quality
of the fasting
and the praying that you present to Allah
This intention does not stop when we say
it after Taraweeh at night, but rather it
is something which should be renewed throughout the
day. As the Prophet
says,
That verily actions are judged by the last
of it. And so, inshaAllahu ta'ala,
we pray that our intentions are good at
the beginning of the action,
during the action,
and at the end of it, at the
conclusion of it.
This Ramadan,
do
more.
SANSAV,
changing lives through development and relief.
