Someone who will cause mischief and shed blood.
Did they did they know us or did
they not know us?
Did were were they right about us?
How long was it before they were proven
right?
The very son of this kharifa would prove
them right. Correct?
But And they said we celebrate your praises,
they now If you just want to be
worshipped, just create more of us, you know,
create more of us. Why create this khalifa?
They're gonna cause so much problems.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in his infinite wisdom,
he did not give them his explanation. What
did he say?
I know something you don't know. I know
something you don't know. So he created Adam
alaihis salaam and his wife Hawa.
He put them where? In jannah.
Letting us Signifying to us this is where
Allah intends for us to be. Place them
in jannah.
And He told them in jannah you can
enjoy everything you want.
Except what? How many rules did they have?
One. They had one rule.
This is showing us the nature of man.
How many rules do we have now in
the sharia? This is the mini. You could
study this for forever. They had one rule.
I put a tree in this garden, don't
touch it. Stay away from it. What did
they do?
They broke the very first rule. They broke
the only rule they had, Right? Shaytan tricked
both of them and they broke the rule.
So Allah told them you have to get
down from here. You have to go in
the earth. You have to live. You're gonna
get old. You have to work. You have
to hunt. You just and then you're gonna
die.
Imam Ibn Kathir
records a conversation. If you look in his
tafsir of these ayat, he records a conversation
between Adam and Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala as
he is exiting the garden. And this gives
us some insight into our nature.
And what do we do about sin?
How many of us don't commit sin? Raise
your hand. You've never committed a sin in
your life.
I wanna wanna make sure we have no
angels in here with us tonight. Okay? Khayran.
All of us.
The prophet
said
Every son of Adam sins, every single one
of them.
As Adam was leaving the garden, he asked
Allah a few questions and these questions are
beautiful.
He said, My Lord did you not create
me with your own hands? And Allah said,
Yes. You see this is Adam's wisdom. This
is the wisdom that Allah
gave our father Adam. He said, Did you
not breathe into me the breath of life
and cause me to live? He said, Yes.
He said This is Adam starting to use
his his logic that Allah gave him. He
said, when I became alive
and I sneezed because we know the first
thing Adam did when he became alive, he
sneezed.
He said, Did you not say? You're hamukullah.
This is why we say it to each
other. Did you not say, 'May Allah have
mercy on you?' He said, Yes. He said,
Okay.
He said Then he asked the most important
question.
Didn't you know when you put me and
my wife in the garden and told us
not to eat from this tree, didn't you
know we were gonna do it anyway?
Didn't you already know we were gonna do
it? Allah said, yes. I knew. I knew
you were going to do it. Allah is
Al-'aleem. He knows everything. He knew before creating
the heavens and the earth that they were
going to do it. He knew before creating
Jannah, they were gonna do it. He knew
when he put the tree there, they were
gonna do it. He know when he he
knew when he was telling them not to
do it, they were gonna do it. Sounds
like a lot of our children, right?
Exactly like our children. He knew it.
Allah said, Yes. I knew you were gonna
do it. So then Adam said, can you
not forgive me for that which you knew
I was going to do? Can you not
have mercy on me for something you already
knew I was gonna do before telling me
not to do it? Allah said yes. And
that's when he taught them the very famous
words, my lords, I have wronged my own
soul. My lord, I have wronged my own
soul. If you don't have mercy on me,
then surely I will be amongst the losers.
This gives us insight to the relationship
between Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and His creation.
It is a relationship of
The Prophet
said,
Every son of Adam sins, but the best
of those who sin, which is all of
us, are the repentant ones. So know this
brothers and sisters, you will sin. You will
make mistakes. We all have them. We all
have sins. We all have mistakes. We all
have skeletons in the closet. We all have
parts of us that we pray that Allah
never puts in front of mankind.
But those who are repentant,
they will be the inhabitants of Jannah.
The people of paradise, everyone of Jannah, everybody,
every single person after the prophets in Jannah
will be a forgiven
sinner. Will be a forgiven sinner.
That is the reality of who we are.
It is a struggle that we commit sin
and we go back to Allah. We commit
sin and we go back to Allah. It
is the status of our nature.
And the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said,
Your actions will be judged according to the
last one. So if you commit a mistake,
if we make sin, if we commit sin,
return to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala immediately.
Never think you've done too much. Never think
you've gone too far. Never think that I
have been a stray for so long. I
don't deserve to come back to Allah. This
is one of shaitan's
most deceitful and devious tricks to mankind
is to make them think that Allah won't
forgive you because Allah forgives
everything. He forgives all sin except we know
for open shirk. I am going to address
this insha'Allah hootal and rakutbah in a very
long methodology,
but I wanted to share with you tonight
that there is hope. We have to have
hope. We have to have hope in Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. Because I'll say this lastly.
Because the Prophet
he said that Allah is as you perceive
him to be.
How does that even make sense?
Allah is as you perceive him to be.
That means that how you perceive Allah sets
the framework of the reality of how you
are going to have a relationship with Allah.
If you see Allah as someone who cannot
forgive you, who is so angry and so
vengeful that He has no mercy for me,
then this is the behavior of the relationship
you have with Allah and you will not
receive His mercy because you won't go after
it. But if you have hope and know
that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is
All of the beautiful names of Allah, they
speak about His compassion, His mercy, His patience,
His forgiveness.
Then that is how you will have an
interacting relationship with Allah. And when you commit
sin, you will know that you can return
to him and that door of repentance will
always be open for you
So may us all in this month of
Ramadan achieve his forgiveness, but after it, let
us continuously, every time we make a mistake,
return to the door of repentance, and Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala, you will always find it
open.
