are we left with a Shetland? rajim Bismillah Alhamdulillah wa salatu salam ala Rasulillah in the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Most Merciful All praise is due to Allah and may his peace and blessings be upon our beloved prophet muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. I begin by greeting my brothers and sisters As Salam aleikum wa rahmatullah wa barakato. May the peace and the blessings of Allah be upon all of you. So today is the last Friday of the month of Shabbat and insha Allah next Friday, it will be the very first Friday in Ramadan of 2020 May Allah Subhana Allah extend our lives and the lives of our loved ones, to witness the blessings of the month of Ramadan Europa Alameen.
Just have one thought regarding this, please keep in mind that Ramadan is a time that we imbibe, and we adopt better habits than the ones that we have had throughout the year. And as they say that this is a process of what we call a test here or purification. And they say that purification is of different levels.
We begin at the easiest and that is the purification of our words, and then the purification of our actions and then the purification of our intentions and ultimately the purification of our thoughts. And inshallah I just like to share with you thoughts about the
purification of our words. You know, speech is one of the most beautiful gifts from ALLAH SubhanA wa Tada. And we are invited throughout the Quran to celebrate the gift of speech. We're constantly constantly Allah Subhana Allah will tell us, or let anybody Akula TV Eisen command my servants tell my servants, to only speak and say that which is best.
A believer is deliberate, considerate, and thoughtful about the types of words that they use with those who are around them. We want to make sure that our words inspire, we want to make sure that our words build up and they do not crush your spirits, because believe it or not, words really do have that power. And sometimes we really do not pay attention to the power of our words and how it may impact those who are around us. So an invitation to myself and to my brothers and sisters out there is please let us practice a better usage of the gift of speech from Allah subhanho dal. So we are invited to only speak that which is good, not that which is good. In fact, the Quranic
terminology is colored by the equality here i Son, in four men tell my servants to only say that which is best, not just good words, but rather the best of words.
Allah subhanaw taala took a covenant from the Israelites and Allah said that you are to worship none but Allah can be dutiful to your parents and be good your kinship and take care of the orphans. And then Allah Subhana Allah says one taco Lulu Nasya hasna and to say that which is best for people and then okay masala and then to establish prayers and the rest of the rituals. So here the Quran is putting the idea of speaking with splendid words to people prior to putting the prior to the putting of the rituals, and that is one of the Quranic styles of expressing the importance of a certain topic. So please do not undermine the power of the words that we use with those who are around us.
And so beautifully the prophets Allah Azza wa sallam says, Men cannot be left with your mill earthfit FileOpen Hiren Alia smoke, let he who believes in Allah and the Day of Judgment, either say that which is good, or at least remain silent.
And that is such a beautiful expression summation of how we celebrate the gift of speech. If we have something good to share, please say it if we do not, then we stop. And then finally I love the teachings of Satan. I live in Abu Talib who said, Milan had Kalama to who that it might have been to those who use gentle, nice words is that people find it easy to fall in love with them. And because of the words that we use, people may really find it to be effortless to fall in love with us simply because of how they are made to feel because of the type of force that we choose to use around them. So please, please I beg a few. If one thing you shall
a lot that we want to practice in this Ramadan, that I'll be kinder with lightweights that I will be thoughtful with my words, I'll be more deliberate and more considerate with the words that I use, I'll make sure that my words inspire those who are around me, I want to make sure that my words are not only true and factual, but also my words are actually good words that will lift up the spirits of the people. And if I am unable, because of how I am feeling, to use these types of words, then the least that I promised to do is apply the teachings of the Prophet salAllahu alayhi wasallam. And that is, I would at least be silent. And I would keep my words to my to myself. Many times we regret
the words that we have said. But if we keep silent, you know very few times that we have, that we have regretted silence. And remember, we're not, you know, so beautifully the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam taught that you know, in in in Arabi, the Quran, the Sunnah of the process, the liminal differentiated between being quiet and being silent, Osama was so good. Say that sometimes we are silent because we are afraid. And sometimes we remain quiet because we are decent. And this is the type of silence that we want to practice that is not motivated by fear. But it is motivated by a genuine sense of decency. May Allah subhanaw taala purify our words? May Allah subhanaw taala
purify our actions may Allah subhanaw taala purify our intentions. May Allah subhanaw taala purify our thoughts. If any of our loved ones out there is not feeling well. May Allah grant them a speedy recovery. If any of our loved ones has passed away, may Allah bless their souls. If any of us or our loved ones are going through difficult times, may Allah subhanaw taala bring ease and relief to their lives. There's akmola here for inviting us and spending part of your afternoon with us. And with this we come to the conclusion of this short reminder. And from MMIC we say a Salam alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
