Inshallah. Short, hatara, a continuation of what we did last
week, we spoke about setting the bar higher and raising the
standard in the Muslim communities. Mashallah, epic,
leading the one of the leading communities in the Muslim you
know, communities of America where mashaAllah, we have his program
daily, khaterras, the Masjid is full. All of that is great, but
always a Muslim looks at a higher level. So we spoke last week about
some of the scholars of Islam, for example, Al Hafid, Al mundhiri,
the author of tahib, and how at a very young age he was able to
accomplish so much, Imam Al Bukhari being able to accomplish
so much, and then Imam as Shafi, being able to accomplish so much.
The reason why we started with these scholars is because we were
covering that book, and it just came about. But of course, any
time we're trying to look for role models, looking for a system, we
always go back to the era of the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa
sallam, and we see what the Prophet salallahu alaihi wasallam
did, and what his companions did. So when we look at that, there are
certain Sahaba, young Sahaba, I want to mention two, three of
them, just as an inspiration for the children and for their parents
of how we can raise the bar and how we can expect more and aim for
higher standards. So when we look at that, look at Subhanallah Ali
Radi Allahu Anhu. All of us know who he is, but did we know that he
was one of the first person to accept Islam at the age of 10? He
had to come up with this level of maturity and this level of thing
on his own, because nobody else in his family is accepting Islam. His
father is not accepting but look at Ali Radi Allahu anhu, going to
some more example in details we know the Prophet salallahu alayhi
wa sallam is in Makkah. Who does he send to Medina? Musa ibn Umar,
a young guy who grew up in luxury, who grew up in a household in
which he got whatever he wanted. He went and started giving dawah
in Medina to where multiple families accepted Islam on his
hand, a young kid today, we ask a teenager for the smallest thing,
memorize Quran. Go become a student of knowledge. Go give
dawah. Volunteer, become active in your Masjid. All of that. And they
think it's a big deal. But when you read about the Sahaba, it was
as a very young age. They took Islam, they took ownership of it,
and they represented it to the best way possible. When Musa bib,
numeral the Allah, one who is in Medina, he creates such an
environment that even though the Prophet salallahu, Alam is not
there, people are longing for him. People are talking about him.
People are wishing that they can see and one of those examples is
an asynchrony Allahu anhu, an asylum. Amari Allahu is a young
child, less than 10 years old, and his mom is telling him about the
Prophet sallallahu, Abu Salam, and he falls in love with him before
even seeing him. Today, we have to ask ourselves, the adults have to
ask this, which one of my child is in love with the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, because we see the sahaba. These
are also Sahaba who did not see the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam, but they talked about him. They learned about him to the
extent that they fell in love. Their children fell in love. ANNA
Sidney, Malik used to be like I wish I could go to Makkah to see
him, or I wish the Prophet salallahu alaihi wasallam can come
so I can see him. And when the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam
comes, everybody goes forward to give him a gift. And the mother of
an Allahu AK, she has nothing to give to the prophesy Allahu Alam,
she takes her child, 10 years old, an asynchnamatic The Prophet
salallahu alayhi wa sallam. Used to call him unes, right? It's but
tasried as a loving word, like young annas. And she takes him and
gives him to the Prophet salallahu Alam, and said, O Prophet of
Allah, I want him to become your Khadim. I want him to become your
servant. Remember, Islam is not so great now that the ruling power,
or anything like that, there is not that many people accepting
Islam. Islam is still people are torturing our people are attacking
and all that today, yeah, we see Islam this great power at that
time, it was something very minute. Despite that, her mother,
his mother, asyndemand's mother takes him, gives him to the
Prophet salallahu, alayhi wa sallam, and says, O Prophet of
Allah, I want him to be your Khadim. I want him to be your
servant. Imagine we are giving our child to become a Khadim of Islam.
You might think that he has been.
Coming. What is he going to earn? What is he going to do? How is he
going to live? What is going to be this? What's going to be that? But
Allah tells us, and Allah shows us, manta Raka, Shayla, Awad,
Abullah, minhu, whoever leaves something for Allah, Subhanahu wa
taala, Allah gives him something better than that. Humay saradi,
Allahu anha, rather than dedicating her child to the riches
of the world to become this and become that, she puts him in the
service of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. And he's with
the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, serving him as a servant
for 10 years. And after the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam passes away. What happens to Alad? What happens to servants?
Usually, people don't care. People just push them to this side, that
side, an asynchrony. Malik of the Allah, one who becomes the most
respected, the most honorable, the most sought after person amongst
the Sahaba and after, as soon as the Sahaba passes away, people
from all over the world are coming to sit to an asylum aliquot the
Allahu anhu, asking him to make dua, asking him to narrate a
hadith. And Allah, Subhanahu wa Taala has put so much barakah in
an asylum. Aliquy, Allahu Anhu his life because of the dua of the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam allahummadi, he Wafi Amari, that
Allah has given him so many children that he had more than 50
grandchildren. Allah has given him so much wealth that he just had a
tremendous amount. And Allah made him live for so long that he was
one of the longest living Sahaba radi, Allahu, anhu, all of that.
Why? Because the mother knew that if I dedicate my child to the
deen, Allah will not waste him. Allah will not make him go left
and right. This was the smartness of the mother. The mother gave him
to servitude of Allah. Gave him to the servant of the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, but Allah, subhanho wa Taala raised
them to a level that today, after 1400 years, we are talking about
him. Today, after 1400 years, people are naming their children
after him. And even at that time, even amongst the greatest of the
company, of the company, the best of the timing, the best of the
timing, the best of the generation, was that of the
Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam, even among them, an asylum
article, the Allah, one who is one of those stars, one of those
people that everybody knew about, he passes away. He's not even the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, pass away and an
asynchrony, malaria, the Allah, one who is not even 20.
Look at the status that he has achieved at this stage and
asynchronous the Allah, one who isn't the only Sahabi at this
young age, who's achieved such a tremendous level of honor, respect
and izzah in the eyes of people, you have Subhanallah Zayd ibn
abitra Radi Allahu Anhu. When the Prophet sallallahu, alayhi wa
sallam, goes to Madina. He's about six, seven years old. He dedicated
himself to the Quran. And his early teens, he becomes qatibul
Wahi. He gets the tremendous opportunity of writing down wahi,
and one of the only people who actually wrote the wahi. And when
the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam needed somebody to learn a
whole entire language. It comes in sunnah. Abhi Dawood that when the
Prophet salallahu alaihi wasallam wanted somebody to translate from
Hebrew to Arabic, he told zaydub nusabb, I want you to learn
Hebrew. He went and learned it in two weeks. He went and learned it
in two weeks he would come and he would translate for the Prophet
salallahu alayhi wa sallam, the Prophet sallallahu. Alayhi wa
sallam passes away an asynchronous one who is in his teens, young
kid, and what Abu Bakr RadiAllahu, one who gives him one of the
greatest tasks anybody ever has been given in this ummah till the
last day, one of the greatest task Abu Bakr RadiAllahu gives them is
what Jamal Quran, the whole process of collecting the
different pieces of the Quran and putting it to one book, putting
into one piece who was giving this task? Zayd Musa Abu taradi Allahu
anhu, a young Sahabi. So my dear respected community, let's raise
the power higher. Let's not be content with just the memorization
of the Quran. Let's not be content with just coming to the masjid.
Let's aim for how our children can become Islamic scholars. Can
become scholars in sciences and mathematics and economics, in
sciences in the tafsir and Sciences of the Hadith and
Sciences of the Aqeedah. These are what we want our kids to become.
We need to come out of this mentality that the West has put
into us, that when you're 18, you're an adult, when you're 21
you're allowed to do this. We do not need to look at 18 or 20.
21 for us, our planning for our children become before they're
born, we start to think. Look at Maryam alaihi salam, right? What
are her parents thinking? Even before she's born, we will
dedicate to Allah, Subhanahu wa taala, before the children are
born, we say we will dedicate them to Allah. We plan for them of how
they will learn, how will they be raised in a Muslim community, and
how can they contribute to the Muslim ummah, whether that is in
the worldly sciences, whether that is in the Dini sciences, and to
say, we don't even need to separate both. They can become the
greatest of the scholars in both sciences not only contribute to
the Muslim world, but contribute to the global civilization. This
is the aim. This is the bar. This is the standard that we need to
reach. We ask Allah subhana wa Taala to give us the ability to
understand. Ask Allah subhanahu wa taala the ability to understand
and to implement and to preach to others. WA dawah alhamdulillahi,
Rabbil Alameen wa Salaam Alaikum.
